Had a phenomenal experience at Fidel's last night!!…read more The weather was perfect for the patio seating in the heart of downtown Palisade. Still love my little home town! The food was delicious as always. My suggestion is to try multiple different taco's because they are all very good. My favorites are the Oaxacan, fish and quesabirria. For appetizers you can't go wrong with the guac and elote. Now for the 2 things that motivated me to write the review. The cocktails were exceptional!! The fresh peach margarita is a must when in season. Last but not least the service was the best I have experienced in a looong time! Our waitress was attentive, engaging and friendly. She really made it all come together. I wish I remembered her name to give her credit.

We stopped by Fidels after a long day. We did make a reservation for 7:15, which I recommend,…read morebecause they were decently busy on a Saturday night. They do have outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Vibe is that of a typical, nicely and modernly decorated Mexican restaurant. Interestingly, they do serve shots on a wood platter (similar to that of a cortado with sparkling water palette cleanser), and half shots as well that seemed popular to the locals. The man that told us to visit here actually told of us this, and we saw it in action. We had to tap out after a day of wine tasting. Our party of 4 ordered the Oaxacan, Carne Asada, Bomb Ass Fish Taco, and Pork Carnitas. I would rank them in that order too from best to least best (none were bad, but the pork carnita felt a little dry as the overall consensus of the table). The Poblano fries were amazing. They tasted truly fresh and right off the fryer. It comes with 5. Loved the aioli and salsa too. Lastly, they had a house made pineapple habanero hot sauce that was AMAZING! Service was kind, attentive, and no complaints.

This is an average breakfast burrito for double the price of a good one. For example, I asked how…read moremany eggs were in two of the sizes and he responded in ounces. There's less than one large egg in a small one and about 1.25 large eggs in a medium sized burrito. I mentioned it was pretty expensive compared to where I usually go and he said they had higher quality ingredients. Apparently frozen tater tots are higher quality than fresh potatoes. The spot down the road you pay seven dollars. You get two eggs and a bunch of bacon and cheese. This burrito tasted like tater tots and green chile peppers. There was not enough egg, bacon or cheese. They gave you salsa and tiny little container containers that are impossible to dip your burrito in. Based on the presentation, it appears that they price their product so high due to using a lot of unnecessary stickers and branding things. I was sketched out by the location because they don't have proper signage and it actually looks like you're walking into a seedy motel lobby. Would I buy this burrito again for the price? Definitely not. Would I buy this burrito in place of the other burritos I get in the area if the price was the same? Definitely not. Would I pay five dollars for this burrito instead of going where I like the burritos that are eight dollars? Also, definitely not. They need to figure out their margins and their business model because it's shortsighted. Customer service was friendly. I don't think they did market research because he had never heard of the burrito place that I go to every morning which is located less than 1 mile from their spot. I'm amazed at how they were able to completely mask the taste of bacon. I couldn't really find any in there so I guess it makes sense. You could trick a a vegetarian by the taste they had blindfold on
