I could not update my last review, so here is a new one. Edit: the flooring has been completed now for one week. 50 Floor is not the company that came out to install the floor - it was a local contractor by the name of Ed Floors who works out of the Charlotte area. The team feathered in the new floor into the old, meaning that they took out a few boards from the old floor into order to get the new floor to flow as smoothly as possible. The material is similar to the type that was already installed, but the new material has more worm holes and noticeable defects -issues that are common with real oak but I do wish those specific boards were either not used or the holes patched as needed. Again, I understand the flaws are common, but the floors we were matching did not have these same imperfections. That said, the team did everything they could to ensure that the new floor was stained to a color I was content with. We tried many colors and the team remained patient with me the entire time, showing their level of detail for customer service. Even though I am disappointed with the material itself, I cannot overlook the patience and level of detail that the team had - 5 star experience with the subcontractor used! The work took 5 days, beginning on a Monday and finishing on a Saturday. In the photos, you can see the difference between the lip that was there before and is now gone. I had laminate floors installed that supposedly had a guarantee. I called because they started to "cup". They were cupping in the middle of the floor, not near any water source. They told me it would be $150 to come see if it was covered by warranty. So I wrote a review expressing my frustration. I then got a call from corporate offering to waive the $150 but only if I took my review down. I complied and they came to "inspect". They got back in touch with me one month later to say it was an environmental issue and they would replace but I would have to pay labor and materials. I came back to ask what the environmental issue was because if that isn't fixed, what good is new floors. They never called back and as it has gotten worse, I now know they didn't use anything under the floors (sub flooring). BE ADVISED they don't honor their warranty or their with no matter what they say and then try to bride people out of bad reviews hoping they don't rewrite the review! UPDATE!!! 2/23/24- After all this and over a year of pulling teeth, they have finally fixed my floors, they came through but only after a lot of hassle!!! So keep at them and they will fix them... they still charged me $250 for labor!!! I know you're thinking why did I pay bc at the end of the day the floors needed to be fixed ASAP it was becoming harmful to my kids! I also got to pick new flooring and as of now they look great! Marvin and his team were very nice and efficient! 2/12/23They finally came out to look at my floors after a year or so calling and finally hitting them in the heart with the negative reviews! This time they did an accurate moisture check, (they have never done a moisture check, EVER) meaning pulled up some of the flooring to check if I had moisture. Well, go figure I'm on a concrete slab (which they knew this from the beginning). There's natural moisture on a concrete slab. So they took it back to their bigwigs/ executives to discuss and guess what, their verdict is still they'll pay for all new flooring but I will have to pay for installation and labor of $540. You tell me how I still have to pay for them to come out to do labor and installation when, if this was done the correct way the first time they wouldn't have to come back out for more labor and more installation. I do not care if the flooring companies/vendors (axiscore is one of them) do not recommend or require, or they didn't in 2020, and still as of 2024 do not require a moisture barrier any standup and knowledgeable flooring company knows that concrete slab needs a moisture barrier so if you were a good and knowledgeable company, you would at least give your consumer the option to have a moisture barrier, which was never given to me at all point blank zero option, so if I would've been given that option or it was just done, we would not be in this predicament that 50 flooring themselves put their consumer, Me, and others in. So my question to everyone that will read this because it will be going to Google Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, all of my platforms is this a good case for a lawyer or the new channels? I want everyone to know how they have done me, and all of the bad reviewers that I have seen and have read! All of these honest people are getting suckered in to this company that does not have any morals or values in the work that they do or the companies they use if they did, they would fix this without hesitation!!! I hired 50Floor to do LVP in my house. This is my factual experience. The "consultant" was just a sales person. There was pertinent information about the incompatibility of the product we selected that wasn't mentioned; had it been we would have selected a different product. The first red flag was that they demanded payment in full before any work was done. Companies that stand behind their work typically require half, then half on completion. I reluctantly paid in full. Then, only after destructively (as in unable to put it back) removing our floor, we were told it wasn't level enough to put down the new floor. Of course, they "had a guy" they could recommend to come out and quote us on fixing the issue. I didn't feel comfortable with that, as I felt they were deliberately trying to take advantage of us. When I told them I would have someone else look at it, they insisted they take all the new materials (that I had just paid in full for) back to their warehouse. I told them "no", unless they refunded me the material cost. They told me that it was "corporate policy" to take it, and I told them I don't work for corporate, so that policy meant nothing to me. They had me talk to 2 different people on the phone, who both told me the same thing. I actually had to threaten to physically block them from taking the materials they had charged me for before they backed down. I felt like had they taken the materials, I would have no leverage with which to bargain. I later got a call from someone at the local office giving me ridiculously tight tolerances for the floor that needed to be met before they would install. I had much of the subfloor replaced (not by 50floor) and was told that it was within spec for LVP. It did not, however, match the tight specs I was given. Eventually the end of quarter rolled around and they started calling asking when they could finish the install so they could mark it as "complete" by end of quarter. I told them where we were at, then got a call from a different local person that gave me completely different specs - much more relaxed and easily within the range of my floor. They (the company they subcontracted) came out and finally finished the floors, and we are now happy, but I strongly recommend against using 50Floor to anyone who cares to ask. It's important to note that 50Floor, at least in my case, didn't actually do anything other than sell a product that they don't manufacture, then hire someone else to install it. In other words, they simply acted as a contractor and charged a premium for that service. I could have ordered the product I had installed, and hired an installer myself, or even just hired a local installer who would have ordered and installed the product. I don't see where 50Floor provided any benefit by being involved in the process. read more

Replaced carpeting in master bedroom with hardwood floors. Matched to color of our original flooring perfectly. Only complaint was with scheduling . We removed all of the furniture from the room only to be called at the last minute to change the installation to the following week. Coming on days we had appointments . One day I rushed through a physical therapy session only to wait all day for a no show and phone call at 5pm saying they could come by around 6:30pm. They came the next day and finished. We spent Easter Sunday putting the room back together. The floors are beautiful! And I would use 50 Floor again. I I just wouldn't trust the job being done when first arrangements are made. read more

I had new flooring installed by 50Floors. They came to the house to give us a price and I picked our the flooring I wanted. Then 2 days before the install, those floors were suddenly on back order for over 3 weeks and they had me pick out something else. They claimed the new choice was the same quality as what I originally chose but I doubt that to be the case. So I believe they installed a lower quality flooring in my house for the same price as the higher quality originally chosen. We have had the floors for less than three months and there have been several chips and cracks. The 1st one was just 12 days after install and their office said that they weren't under warranty because 12 days had passed. She tried to blame it on my vacuum cleaner. The salesman who came out is no help. He just keeps referring me to the office who refuses to fix the cracks and chips at their expense. They are a horrible company. Do not buy flooring from 50Floors. You will get cheap crap installed and it won't even last two weeks before it starts breaking down. read more

I had one room recarpeted and another room with LVP. There were so many options to choose from. The salesperson was very nice, helping me narrow down the options to suit my needs. I am very pleased with both the carpet and the LVP. The turnaround was quick and the installers were very polite and worked quickly and cleaned up the areas after they were done. I would like to have seen the carpet padding options before I chose but am pleased with the outcome. There was a gap between my baseboard and the quarter round on the LVP, but I was able to repair this myself after install. I guess I wasn't taking into consideration the difference in previous carpet and the thinness of the LVP. I've had the flooring for about a month now, everything seems to be holding up well against pets and furniture. I am not sure how I feel about the floating LVP floor as it gives when you walk on it in spots. read more

They ordered the wrong amount of laminate. They showed up late and never communicated when they would be arriving. The detail was terrible with the stain. They left stain all over the risers and the spindle, a seperate painter is going to have to come in a fix at my expense. See pics. The stain color they said would be tha closest is not close at all. See pics. They said they cannot sand and stain the baserails but only communicated that to me after the fact and then charged me for something that has to get done. See pics. OMGoodness!! Did I forget to write a review on my contract with these guys from last year?? God I was so busy. Well let me say, since they completed the rest of my house 1 year earlier in 2022, the experience I had with them in 2023 was less than stellar...they went from 4 stars to forget it! First they advertised 50% off flooring but told the sales rep hard wood wasnt included, then when I showed then their ad they changed their story. That should have been my first sign. The sales process didnt go well and I hope to god they didnt fire that poor rep because the regional manager threw him under the bus. He was the only one that was good about this. Secondly the job ran way behind because of constant communication errors about whats on receipts and sales tickets but not getting to crew and workers. Had I not watched every move they made on my kitchen floor I swear they would have really messed it up. From whether they were supposed to dovetail in to the nicks all over my trim and broken pieces off my floor moulding, to my broken washer. The floors eventually got done and looked very nice, but the process was HELL. I hope they got their stuff together since then because from what you can tell, last year, it was not going well. read more

This is the second time we've used 50 floor for flooring work. Overall both times they do excellent work and excellent prices. My concern was with the most recent job that they did. They installed flooring in our master bathroom. We were only informed at the end of the job of two things. 1) when they were reattaching the toilet the toilet was now leaking and 2) The new flooring raised up the floor enough that the doors would not close in the bathroom anymore. The lady on the phone explained to me very matter-of-factly that it was in "the fine print" that they were not responsible for each of these things. When you spend over $1000 on a new floor and they leave telling you that you have two new problems that you didn't have before they install the floor And that it was in "the fine print" this is kind of unacceptable. When we got the estimate the salesman explain that the new flooring was floating floor and would be installed on top of the tile. This would have been a good time, as an expert in his field, to explain to us that this might cause problems requiring additional construction on the doors to the bathroom. Then to simply tell me that I'm going to need to get a plumber So that my new over $1000 floor doesn't get ruined. That's just doesn't say five stars to me. Will we be using 50 Floor again for Our main area, the largest part of our house, the next project that we have that will probably be $7 or $8000. I don't know that we will and that is a shame because they do good work. But as a lay person I like it for folks to disclose to me all the potential costs as I make a purchase, not after the job is done. We had carpet installed by 50 Floors. At first, we loved the job that was done. After a while, the carpet began to roll in three rooms. We contacted 50 Floors. After much discussion, they finally sent someone out to fix it and guaranteed it would not happen again. Wrong! It happened again. One room is a guest room that no one uses. This time they would not send someone to fix it. They wanted to charge us $250 to fix something they did not do right the first two times. I would not recommend them to anyone. These guys were just not very good when it came to our flooring project. The sales guy was very friendly but in retrospect left out a lot of details that did not come to light until installation started (i.e. estimated incorrectly on materials, did not tell us that the wall tile could be broken and/or could not be removed without damaging the walls.) the installer said he would do his best but as you can tell by the pictures it did not go well. 50 Floor ran out of materials to complete the floors and we had to wait for new tile tile to come in. When it did we ended up with so much leftover materials (grout, tile, etc) I am sure they charged us for. If you just focus on nothing else but the floors thumbs up! If you look at the big picture and the flooring managers attitude, I wish we had gone to a flooring company that sees the entire picture not just their picture. Addendum:Okay here we are a couple months out because of our schedule and the tile is the wrong size. I asked the store manager (Mark) if he wanted to take personal responsibility for insuring it was going to get going and completed but apparently he was not interested. read more

I can honestly recommend that you shouldn't go anywhere else for your flooring (trust me, I'm a tough crowd). I tried another company and it was an awful experience, and then I got with 50 Floor. Not only did they have the best price (after 3 estimates). They had the exact LVP that I had been looking for. I am very picky and the rep Liz went above and beyond to help me find it. She was fabulous! I was so nervous on the day of installation until I met Alex and his hard working team. He asked all the right questions and I could tell he really cared and knew what he was doing. His workmanship (especially on the stairs) was amazing!! Did I mention how picky I am haha, well, I don't think anyone else would have made me as happy with my floors. I'm beyond thrilled with them. So we called again today and were told for $300 they would come out and attempt to fix our floor using a few pieces that we saved from the install. They claim our flooring has been discontinued (although the flooring on their website looks just like ours, it maybe a different stock # but very close). IF they damage more flooring while they are attempting to fix it is tough doodoo for us and we still owe them the $300. Really what has happened to customer service and standing by product. THINK LONG AND HARD if considering 50 FLOORS to be your vendor! AGAIN ASK FOR AT LEAST A BOX when they are done in case you have problems in the future.. read more

They tried to tell me I had swelling on my baseboard where there installer damaged it bad. Spots damaged on my walls and 3 grates where my ac/heat come out we're broken. Unfortunately, our experience was similar to many of these customer reviews. We had 50 Floor come out and quote us for our bedroom carpets. At first, we were impressed. David the salesman came out the next day and told us that if we chose one of the in stock carpets, they could install the same week. For this reason we forwent using another company because our project was time-sensitive. After we paid our deposit, it felt like we were forgotten. We never received a call to schedule the installation. After we contacted this company many times, we heard back on Friday afternoon that they were unable to install that week bc the carpet we chose was out of stock, which was untrue since we specifically chose one that was in stock. Eventually we heard from them after the weekend that they got us on the schedule for the end of the next week. We were very disappointed with this experience since we specifically chose to use 50 Floor because they promised a quick timeline. They refused multiple times to offer us a discount even though they could not deliver what was promised. We are very disappointed. read more

This company was great. The salesman came in and spoke with us about our wants and needs. He suggested various options that would fit those needs and was very nice to our dog (who is a hit too friendly sometimes). Let's skip forward a few weeks to when the installation began. They sent 3 gentlemen to install our floors (mind you this was just a replacement of the carpet on our second story of the house). They were friendly, professional, and explained exactly what they had to do and asked us how we wanted certain options handled. We were told, originally, that the job would take two days to complete, however, the installers got so much done they asked if they could stay late and just finish up (which was fine by us). They also handled moving all of our furniture and putting it back as well. They made sure to point out the work that we had to check on the walk through and waited until we were satisfied before they left. We had several rooms replaced after our home was flooded, they took advantage of us and we paid 8,900.00 and within the first year, it started peeling popping and breaking in various places. This was during Covid in 2020 & 2021, I am immunocompromised and could not deal with outsiders in my home. We notified them and got no response from the installers & salesperson who told us we had a lifetime guarantee, that if anything was not right or we were not happy to let them know and they would make it right. We sent them 30 pics of the issues and they came back with our warranty has expired and it is our responsibility to replace our floor that did not last a year. I plan to report them to BBB, the consumer news stations, Yelp and their suppliers, for the quality of their product and the people they are allowing to represent them, everywhere I can find and to anyone that will listen, to protect other consumers from being preyed on the way we have been. Beware.. they are all about the money.. but no one cares about the product or the installation once they get your money. The salesman was a fool. Tried to get me at16,000 to do 1000 sq feet of hardwood. Funny to watch him squirm when I said carpet upstairs instead because he offered the exact same price as if it was hardwood still. This didn't/doesn't make sense. Then as the dunce realized he was losing the sale bc I was catching onto the fact they were charging me extra for no reason he drops it to 12k for whole house hardwood. So you're willing to let me sign for 16k for something you're now offering for 12? Then pathetically as he left he desperately offered 11k. I laughed him out the door as I already had a contractor doing it for 3500 plus materials. So 5700 total v 16,000 from 50 floor. CALL A REAL CONTRACTOR. This place is a scam. We are really impressed. Great company. Started off our search for new carpet at a few local stores in Pineville. All were closed because it was the day after Thanksgiving. We then stopped at Lowe's and the Home Depot and were told, after a long wait, that the process takes a minimum of 3 weeks. Left frustrated. Got home and called these people. A rep came out to our home the next day (Saturday). We picked out out brand name carpet (Mohawk). It was installed in two weeks. Great carpet, great price and zero hassle. They've missed deadlines, they raise the price after they've delayed your project so I cannot shop around, the raised prices are outrageous (plywood is $30 and they charge $150), and the only thing they did to help was cover our storage fees because of the delay that we don't even receive because it'll go straight to pay the storage company! My family and newborn baby still cannot move into our new home. I'm highly disappointed. read more

Zero star. Not reliable company. I recently called and asked them for the free estimate. They sent some one over it's take him almost 1:30 to do the estimate and give me the cost of hardwood floors. The total floor that we need to do hardwood was 1150 score feet. He said with sanding cost you almost $27K without sanding cost you almost $20K. That's included %60 discount as well. It's means before %60 discount that will cost thousands of dollars more. It's meant the cost of hardwood plus labor included is about $20 score feet. Remember I said for 1150 score feet their estimate cost for my house hardwood floors was almost $27K with sanding. Without sanding almost $20K. NOT RELIABLE. ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND. Beware of this company! They will try to cheat you by not letting you cancel within the cancellation period if there are issues so they can charge you 20%. I spoke with a salesperson on Aug. 25 who said they could complete my bathroom and tile installation in 3 weeks or less. I paid a $1,700 deposit and was told I could cancel within 3 days if there were problems. The next day, someone from 50 floors said the product would arrive on Sept. 16, which meant it would be 3 weeks before the product even arrived. It would not be installed on time. I said I'd have to cancel if it didn't arrive sooner. The woman said she'd call me back. After receiving no call, I called to cancel the next day. Dana, the person who handles cancellations was not in, but I was told to leave a voicemail, and there would be a timestamp on the call so they'd know I cancelled within 3 days. I left a VM and said communication has been horrible, and I'm cancelling my install, but call me if there are issues. Five days later, I get a call from 50 floors saying they're ready to schedule the install. I told them I cancelled. She said there is no note of that, so if I cancel, they'll charge me 20% of the total price. The woman, I believe Danielle, was incredibly rude and said none of this was her problem. I think they've intentionally not returned calls so they could steal hundreds of dollars from me without having to do any work. read more
