Honesty the best ice cream I have ever had! I tried the tagalong flavor in a brownie sundae. Tagalongs are my favorite Girl Scout cookie flavor. The only thing I wish about the ice cream was that it had more peanut butter. None the less it was delish. My mom got the churro flavor it was not my favorite but she liked it. Over all you should check this place out. read more

Mini scoops of coffee flavor and chocolate and brownies flavor ice cream thanks to Sarah, the manager at 5280 ice cream. I was upstairs at the movie theaters doing a work assignment and during one of the previews it mentioned a free mini scoop with your tickets to a movie down here so I came down here and showed her my assignment details and explained to her that my daughter was working so hard with me all day watching the previews so here we are thanks Sarah!!! I thought this was gonna be a little bigger but let's face it- it's on the side of 5280 burgers so not much room to move or even take a good pic- It could have been my timing because we came after the Denver Comic Con - It was super busy and the staff was short with the patience - I was rushed in my order but waited almost 5 mins to pay/ (free ice cream? ) woo hoo - (jk ) I was a lil Torked that they used my Denver 5280 to represent, but couldn't bring more to the table -(customer service wise) - at least my 6 year old liked her chocolate ice cream - read more

Another 16th street mall restaurant that has decided to work their bottom line instead of working to make a happy customer. My wife and I ordered two shaketinis. My wifes was loaded with alcohol. I could barely taste the whiskey in mine. I paid 30 dollars with tip. Dont waste your time or money at 5280 icecream. Unless you love being overcharged and underserved. The ice cream isn't flavorful, and the service was awful. The woman with reddish, curly hair and tattoos has awful manners. I asked for her favorites (as suggested by the sign) and was met with a shrug and the comment, "I can't make that choice for you." I asked if she preferred the cookie or brownie for the sundae. Another shrug, an eye roll, and a condescending, "Do you prefer cookies or brownies?" I almost walked out at that point, but I decided to stay the course. She didn't talk to me the rest of the transaction. Pretty sure this place only has great reviews because of lack of choice. Also, I don't think your workers should loudly proclaim, "I'm am awful Satanist scum bag" wth customers in the store. You might put some folks off. read more

Ice cream was OK. It was hot and definitely satisfied my cravings. What's not OK is the transaction. Day 1: Paid with credit card, signed and left the shop. A month later, I found out that the shop automatically added $1.30 to my bill. Scam. Day 2: Wife paid with credit card. After we left the store, I checked the receipt and turns out the total amount was $0.50 more than what I paid on Day 1, even though we ordered exactly the same. Another scam. Read earlier review that this has happened before so I'm definitely not coming back to this place. What a pity read more

I love this place for its minimalist layout and the complexity of the flavours they offer. It's a great place to come to for dessert after finishing from the burger bar. Personally, I went the the chocoberry that allowed a mix of chocolate and berry flavours coming at you one at a time. read more

The ice cream here was very good! The texture was so thick and creamy, similar to that of gelato. We got a scoop of nutella and oreo. The oreo was the most popular flavor, which also was my favorite. It was filled with oreo cookies and had very intense oreo flavor. The nutella was nothing special, as the hazelnut flavor was very mild. The best part about going to 5280 Burger was finding out there was a small attached ice cream shop next to it! We ordered less food in anticipation for the ice cream, and boy, were we happy we did! So many great flavors that range from classic to uncommon (toasted marshmallow, caramelized banana). I love that they have a mini option (just 1 scoop), just a perfect portion! During my conference, I came here about 3 times... ordered the marshmallow, banana, and raspberry sorbet! I also highly recommend the sea salt caramel, it literally tastes like straight up cold sea salt caramel, not a flavored ice cream. read more

This was my first time trying out 5280 Ice Cream and Denver already has plenty of delectable ice cream shops. I was naturally skeptical, but clearly wrong. As far a price-point, this ranks right up there with the best of them. You're not going to find much more bang-for-your-buck at any ice cream joint in this city. As far as flavor, I was blown away. I had some of the toasted marshmallow expecting it to taste like marshmallow. BUT IT ACTUALLY TASTED LIKE TOASTED MARSHMALLOW! We still have a few weeks of warm weather and I hope to becoming a regular at 5280 Ice Cream. read more

Unique place, sits right next to hamburger restaurant. The ice cream enthusiast shared a little about the establishment. He said that all ice cream is homemade, no artificial flavors or preservatives. Some ice cream customers will buy a shot with their ice cream to make a drink similar to a martini. After going to little men 2 days in a row.... I was kind of tired walking such a long way and then wait for another half an hour just to get ice cream....even thought it was so worth it. We decided to try something closer and wow it was pretty decent...not as creamy as little men but definitely hit the spot Caramelized banana: 4/5 I'm not a big fan of banana but this one tastes like frozen banana with caramel. If you're a big fan of banana you would definitely like this Marshmallow: 5/5 this is my favorite~~ creamy and tasted just like melted marshmallow but frozen version Nutella: 4/5 it's definitely flavorful but not as creamy as other ones in fact I tasted ice... Don't be fooled by reviews of this place that are less than 5 star, this place is brilliant. I've tried about everything here but most of the time I spring for the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, campfire marshmallow, or the salted caramel. I believe a reviewer wrote something along the lines of "small selection, not very flavorful" which to me means super creamy, not too sweet, they focus on the quality not quantity. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is just like a bowl of the cereal and milk that has been left out to get just the right amount of sogginess then frozen. The marshmallow has a distinct smokiness to it and a really creamy elastic texture reminiscent of frozen fluff. The salted caramel might be the best I've had with its super dark caramel, almost to the point of burnt sugar, not cloyingly sweet, and just the right amount of salt. Finally, the prices are cheap and the portions huge. 3 dollars for a "single" scoop gets you like 4 actual scoops and you can mix and match. AND, there is never a line, which I think is awesome especially when you're by yourself and you just want to pop in for a quick cup (or cone). Of course more business is always good for them... read more

Because Colorado is apparently trying to convince us spring is here during mid-February, I felt that ice cream was a must on this balmy, 70 degree day. 5280 Ice Cream is just a few blocks from my office so a coworker and I popped in for a treat. The shop is hidden away in a little nook next door to 5280 Burger Bar and was empty when we came. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and happy to recommend flavors. I sampled the Caramelized Banana flavor which was decadent. But then my traitorous self noticed the Brown Butter Pecan flavor. I'm a sucker for anything brown butter so I ordered a scoop of that instead. The flavor was good but I couldn't get past the grainy texture. Maybe it was just that the pecans were really broken down, but it didn't have the satisfyingly smooth texture I like in an ice cream. Still, I'd be willing to come back and try a different flavor since this was more a matter of personal taste. read more

I recently visited this ice cream parlor (within its main restaurant/bar venue) after a show at the Paramount. I left very disappointed. The customer service is awful. Abrupt and inconsiderate dialogue, with a significant lack of patience and lack of communication. I assume the employees ringing me up have been poorly trained and had very little experience in the service industry, perhaps this is their first job. Nonetheless, this is no excuse for being a blatantly rude human being to a rather patient and curious customer! Overall, the ice cream was enjoyable, the ambience satisfactory, but the service will keep me from coming back. read more

Many of the small ice cream shops in Denver have a homey feel like you're invited to stick around and have a good time. 5280 Ice Cream (along with 5280 Burger Bar) are synonymous with this feeling. I can't believe this place isn't more busy! I had a little trouble finding it because I'm not from the area, but this little ice cream shop is next to 5280 Burger Bar (which makes sense..doh!). I tried the Campfire Marshmallow and the Oreo ice creams. It was amaaaaaaazing. Super creamy and delicious. I regret not finding this place sooner during my trip- I would've gone every day! 5280 Ice Cream mixes up some delicious new perspectives on tried-and-true classic flavors. Personal favorites include Oreo and Cookie Dough (yum!). The shop itself is tucked away within the Denver Pavilions and, if you frequently walk the 16th Street Mall, you've probably passed it without realizing. It's connected to the 5280 Burger Bar and, I'm assuming, owned by the same people.While it is the first ice-cream parlor/burger bar I've encountered, I found it to be a unique and cool idea. As far as the 'ice cream parlor' portion of the joint goes, it's pretty small, with only a few two-top tables. Despite its size, it didn't feel cramped. It boasts a cute, simple design aesthetic that doesn't take away from what really matters (the ice cream). My overall interpretation? Small, simple, and fresh. The ice cream itself really shines. It's creamy, chocked-full of flavorful mix-ins, and familiar enough while still providing a unique taste. The Oreo is especially delicious and takes the 'my favorite ice cream' award at this location. I highly recommend trying it on your first visit so you can really see how 5280 does the classics in their own way. If you're a fan of ice cream, this place is absolutely worth a try. AMAZING ICE CREAM! There were so many awesome ones I tasted that I couldn't decide which one to order! The campfire marshmallow (tasted just like when you roast a marshmallow over the fire during summer camp!!!) and caramelized banana were my favorite. My mom loved her toasted coconut and sea salted caramel and my brother loved the cinnamon toast crunch!! They have really good sized cones and portions are pretty big for the prices (especially compared to California ice cream prices!)!! I would definitely be back if I visit the area again! Parking: apparently there is $5 valet parking at the Denver Pavilions where this is located with any purchase. Being a tourist we didn't know that so ended up having to pay $20 at a nearby outside parking lot which was a pretty big rip-off. But the ice cream was awesome at least!! However, we still decided to wait it out to order a scoop of the Birthday Cake ice cream. It was very good. Not the best birthday cake ice cream I have had (I ate a lot of ice cream this summer), but a solid rendition. There are a few small tables to sit and eat, but I get the vibe that this is mostly a grab-and-go place, or that most people find a table in Union Station to eat. I would get ice cream from here again, but if you are able to visit the actual Little Man Ice Cream shop in Lodo, I think that would be even better!

I grew up in the South and I have been low-key grieving the lack of banana pudding culture everywhere else I've lived, and here it is -- in Denver, Colorado -- done absolutely right. The smell that hits you when you walk in really makes you feel like you have made the right decision. It's this smell of sugar and deliciousness that gets you excited for the creamy treat that is in your near future. The ice cream is made in house and they have 5 or 6 flavors that they rotate through and then another 10 flavors that stay the same. I went with a single scoop of Oreo which came out to $2.95. I know, I went crazy. But yes, it was delicious. The texture of the ice cream was creamier and unique to most ice creams I have had. Which for me was not a positive or negative. Just different. The couple of staff members that were there were very inviting and friendly and let me try up to 4 different flavors and didn't make me feel bad for asking for so many. It was a tough decision to say the least. (It was between Oreo or Toasted Coconut). I know I was not very adventurous on my first stop, but the menu looked great and the ice cream was great so I will definitely be stopping by again. read more

I went to pick up my out of town guests from the downtown hotel. My guests were hungry when I arrived, and the concierge recommended that we try 5280 for a quick meal, raving about the fresh meat and sides prepared from local ingredients. The joint was packed, so we had high hopes -- but in the end, while our burgers photographed well, they didn't strike us as anything particularly juicy or savory. Despite its reputation, for us, this was a "one and you're done" adventure. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but it's the first impression that counts. read more
