I have been wanting to try this place for awhile but it's so far from where I live. I was on this side of town so I decided to stop by. The line was super long and parking was scarce. We ordered some adobada tacos and a few birria ones. I tried to order a michelada but was told I had to go outside. I went out twice and no one was there. I decided to ask the cashier if someone was serving at the bar. She stated that the bartender would be out shortly. The bartender was rude af. Not sure if she was mad that I had asked if she would be heading outside or what. She just had a pissed off face the whole time she made my drink and didn't say one word to me. I even said "thank you" after she made my drink and she flat out ignored me. The tacos were good and had a lot of meat. The guacamole was also really good. Hopefully they're new location is closer and has friendlier staff. read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place and gave it three tries before writing a review. The place is cute, but lacks a flow. The oder area is awkwardly placed across the room from the front entrance and when there are a couple people in line runs into the back entrance/exit to the patio. There is a TV in the bar area, but the view is blocked by hanging lights. It is after 5 pm and there is no bar service! There is NO AC. Today it was cooler outside! If you want condiments and eat inside, they are serve-yourself outside. The tables inside are so close together it is difficult to shuffle sideways between them. The food is pretty typical, nothing special. read more

Some of the best tacos and drinks I've had in a long time. The queso tacos were amazing and the Cucumber Mint Margarita was so refreshing. Marzena was our bartender and she was so nice and helpful and made really good drinks. 10/10 recommend read more

Ok this is the 3rd time we've had 559 first time bad but gave it a pass cause they were brand new went back two months later and food was much better overall in quality and quantity this last time was the deciding factor. Ordered online showed up at expected time took an additional 20 mins due to lack of communication between the employees. Then they forgot our beans and rice. CDC guidelines not being followed numerous employees not wearing masks correctly. read more

Honestly have been wanting to try this for a while, ordered via doordash. Was almost scared away by their 2.5 star review, thankfully I didn't even read the reviews because I wanted to try for so long, and wanted to review for myself and wasn't going to be swayed by the negative feedback and thankfully I did. I have had many tacos from many places and this hands down is the best taco I have ever ordered. I went with the Barbacoa red street tacos and boy or boy! AMAZING. Might just order again tonight. read more

The renovation looks good but now it's more like a bar type of place. Not so much family. Also the seating is cramped up and if you have a party of 3 or more you have to sit outside. It was too hot and they didn't have the misters on. When you order, the space is so cramped that people and waiters walk through you while you're standing there to order and we were the only 3 in line! The bar looks good but it doesn't give the family atmosphere anymore. The food is good though but probably go somewhere else now. read more

I will them a fair review. I went today and today's storm was absolutely insane. It seemed like the roof needs fixing because from what it looked like, the roof was leaking. I saw the outdoor dining area and it was pretty beautiful. I might want to come back when it's warmer and more dry. The service was pretty quick since I was the only one. I ordered the birria ramen and it was delicious. However, at the end I got a mouthful of the sone of the spices or something which was kind of bitter. I would like to give them another chance another day because I feel like there's some potential. read more

My first time here yesterday. Terrible food.. ordered the quesabirria along with the rice and beans on the side. Rice was terrible weird aftertaste and the beans tasted like they were from a CAN. Service was awful as well. Never going back. Fresno has way better spots if you want real good Mexican food go to Don Pepes Taqueria. read more

If there were zero stars I would grant it. where to start.. there was the rude woman taking orders that looked like our presence was a nuisance to her and barely wanted to answer any questions. Mind you there was NOBODY there when we went... yikes. The meat is bland, flavorless, and they over compensated for that by packing so much meat in the taco like I came because I needed protein and not flavor. Their whole spin on "beans on the tacos" is just gross and inauthentic, it feels like yet another attempt to mask bland food. Their carne asada was bland. Their al pastor dry and flavorless. 2 star for the tacos. Decided to try the hype. Tacos: taste- 4/5. Consome: plain but had a fatty texture (i didn't mind it). 3/5 Price: overpriced. They also charge for "service fee" $1. Wth. Staff is busy and attempting to help, everyone is working. Do not come here if you expect to wait less than 30 minutes for your food. They do not take over the phone orders, so I had my wife drop me off and told her to come back and pick me up considering how hot it is in the building. I have been here for over 30 minutes I am number 87 and they are on number 82 with what looks like no chance of my number coming up anytime soon. Plus now that I look around only me and the cashier taking the orders are the only two in the whole establishment wearing a mask. Ok, so I got home and opened my order and looks pretty plain, 3 dollar red tacos nothing special, tasty but basic. The 559 Torta is good I would order again. Honestly not sure what the big deal is a taco truck is way quicker and the food is comparable. read more

I've always been a fan of 559 Tacos but it was our first time at the taqueria. Went in for an early dinner today and decided to try a little bit of everything. We ordered queso Tacos, red tacos, Tijuana Street Tacos, shared loaded nachos (which were HUGE), a shrimp ceviche tostada (WHICH WAS AMAZING!), side of rice & beans, and a michelada. The restaurant is nice. The service was spectacular! You get the taqueria feel but also the service of a sit down restaurant. The food was also fast considering we ordered half the menu. The food came out within 10-15 min after ordering. With all the food that we ordered + tip, we spent about $60. It was definitely worth it! I give 559 Taqueria 5/5. Everything was delicious but I do have a couple of negatives: 1) Cheese on the nachos was not melted. Personally, I prefer my cheese warm & gooey! 2) The asada didn't have much flavor. My Tijuana Street Taco would probably have tasted better with al pastor. I highly recommend their shrimp ceviche tostada. It had the perfect spice! It tasted like an aguachile's on a tostada. So delicious & perfect to cure a hangover. I also recommend their al pastor on anything and everything. The al pastor is perfectly seasoned. I ordered a red taco & the loaded nachos with al pastor. I will definitely be returning to slam out and try more of their food! read more

The girl taking my order didn't want to answer my questions and pointed to the menu below the register to read..wow. I ordered a carne asada taco bowl no beans..got ground beef (?) and beans, no shell..whatever. I had a few bites and threw it away. My husband ordered 3 shrimp taco's for $10 and I was blown away about how much they charged for those tiny tacos with barely any filling. Wish I took pics...so my bowl and his tacos with 2 drinks $40 bucks! Listen, this place started off strong but you can't charge those prices with poor service and stingy portions. Try it! I'm as picky as they come but this place doesn't disappoint! Fast, friendly and really good. The cheese taco is amazing and worth the price! Also there's really good fries. These are the BEST tacos I've ever had! I could have these for every meal the rest of my life. Their outdoor patio is so beautiful. I've never seen an outdoor patio like theirs. It's magical. Walls of greenery, hanging plants, lights and misters in the summer. Their customer service is great. Suuuuper disappointed. Expensive food Good food. The guac is bland. The limes were old and brown, my tacos were ok. The beans taste like their from a can. It seems the food is only good after you've had a few drinks. The bartender is carrying this place on his back. Because the michelada is the only thing I enjoyed, it's legit one of the best I've had. Don't bring your kids or white people or everyone will stare. Won't be returning unless I'm trynna get wasted and smash some mediocre tacos read more

Used to be amazing. Food is still good, but they've gotten my last THREE orders wrong. And I don't know what they're doing with the asada fries, but they went from 5 stars to -1. Waited awhile for this place to finally open. This was is in the place where Hacienda Tequila was at prior to their move. I have read about the taco truck and the great reviews. Came here on the grand opening and couldn't park. Ordered a red Pastor taco, a regular Pastor, a combo fajitas, Blue Moon (out of Negro Modelo), and a Coke. 559 Taqueria is fire! Me and the wife got the taco box which consisted of 10 tacos we got alpastor and Barbacoa and we weren't let down. They are located on Clovis Ave. near down town Clovis across the street from Lows. The wife had a Michelada and she enjoyed it. Ambiance was pretty typical taco shop haha parking was good and service was friendly and fast. I'll be back for sure. read more

Omg - the tacos here are delicious!! It's a little whole in the wall that surprises with authentic flavors! We ordered the 559 VIP Starter that has 6 different types of tacos- all were delish! The out area has smoking and non-smoking sections and is dog friendly, but they must be leashed. For food, we went the tri-tip BBQ pizza and a soft pretzel. The pizza was delicious and the perfect size for two people. Huge chunks of tri-tip, spicy BBQ sauce, and very cheesy. I asked for jalapenos on the side for an extra kick of heat. Industrial but warm, good energy, not too loud to have an actual conversation. It fills up but doesn't feel chaotic. Its in Clovis which from Fresno is nothing, like a 10 minute drive. Totally worth it for a Friday night out or even just a low key weekday hang. Prices are reasonable for a brewery. Nothing here feels overpriced. Just a really solid spot. Go with friends.

I've had the fish tacos, which are a great healthier alternative because the fish is not deep-fried. I also have had their salads which are amazing and you can customize them depending on what kind of dressings and proteins you'd like. I've never had any of their alcoholic beverages, but they look and sound really good. They also always have wines and beer selections that appear to be from different areas in California. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is that they always seem a little understaffed when I'm there. Usually, I notice one server sometimes to taking care of most of the tables.

I had a great experience at 559 Taqueria in Clovis. The environment was awesome very welcoming, relaxed, and just a cool place to spend some time. Everyone there was friendly, and the overall vibe made it an enjoyable visit. One of the highlights was the bartender on site. He did a great job and was professional, friendly, and clearly takes pride in his work. It added to the whole experience and made the visit even better. Overall, it was a really great spot. This spot used to serve some of the best tacos in town when it was still a humble taco truck, flavorful, authentic, and clearly made with heart. Unfortunately, after transitioning to a full restaurant, the quality and authenticity have noticeably declined. What once felt like real Mexican street food now tastes like it's been rebranded for a more mainstream audience who lack culture. The flavor, spice, and soul that made their tacos memorable seem to have been replaced with a watered-down version clearly tailored to appeal to a different crowd. Started off as a taco truck and then two!!! Now they have a beautiful restaurant and serve more specialty meals than they would in the truck. Despite the wait time at first, but after the small menu change it was a lot faster. Wait times were cut to under 25 mins rather than an hour to hour and a half. They always serve great food and now they serve drinks. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I talk to and which is why I took my time to write out this review. On Tuesdays, the flight comes with four different margarita options -- other days it's three, so don't be alarmed if it looks a little different.
