Best burger stop right before heading into Leavenworth! It is an old favorite and they never disappoint. Service is quick and ambiance is as close as you can get to a diner style restaurant in the area. Classic cheeseburger is our go to but we also tried the Philly style sandwich which was delicious.

We've driven by the 59er Diner countless times and I always thought "wow what a tourist trap", but we finally went in for dinner after a long drive and now I need to right a review. Yes - it is 100% a tourist trap but it's a good one! The place feels straight of the past, there are metal puzzles to keep folks entertained, it was busy but we were able to get a good spot and it was rather fast. And it was fun. The food was much better than my expectations - surprisingly well flavored and prepared. I had the Philly Cheesesteak to order and it hit the spot. If you're in the area and need a quick bite, I say give this place a shot. It might not be everyone's jam, but it's not your typical diner either.

Very friendly staff and very fast service considering the place was full! It was good classic diner food in a fun 50's atmosphere! We had breakfast - my husband had chicken fried steak and I had the most ham scramble. Plenty of food and tasted great! I recommend!

Awesome cheeseburger! Hot juicy patties with melty cheese and the wonderful crisp from the onions and pickles. Genuine old fashioned milkshakes. High quality icecream and milk. Selfseating pickup your own menu and order at the register. Fast and efficient service. Lovely decorated diner Take your family here for an authentic American diner experience.

This place is THE BEST! Great food, great people and great ambiance. Getting there is tricky now with US 2 closed at Leavenworth, but it's worth the extra few miles. Just go north on Chumstick, go through Plain, and you're there. So much better than anything you'll find in Leavenworth. This highway spot is everything you want a classic diner to be. Never disappoints.

How can you not be obsessed with a place as cute as this!?! I love all things 50s and this diner hits the mark. I heard that the mozzarella sticks were a must have here after being featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives so we started with an order of those. They were good but maybe not the best I've ever had. For my main lunch food, I chose the sizzlin beef dip and upgraded to a side of curly fries. Both were delicious and I enjoyed dipping the well-seasoned fries in ranch. But the main event was the milkshake...or should I say milkshakes. My brother and I couldn't decide between two flavors so we ended up getting both and decided to ask for two cups to share. I had no idea how gigantic these milkshakes were! We basically ended up with 4 milkshakes! Both the cherry and the mint oreo, which we combined from two flavors, were delicious but I was so overwhelmed at the amount of milkshake that I couldn't finish them both. Service could have been friendlier as our waitress acted like she had better places to be but the ambiance and food made up for the poor attitude.

Welcome in...Instructions up front-we of course, came in the back door.

Unlike any diner I've ever been to. I overheard some comments from a local advising they had made the diner smaller but no explanation as to why. No one shows you to a table-there is no waitlist- it's: peruse the diner and find a spot that will accommodate your party-then grab it while you can. This was a very interesting process for our group of 6 - with 4 of us 6ft tall!!!!....hehe Ok now-the menus are on a metal stand on the table- so we grabbed them and started determining what we would eat. There was no waitstaff in sight.... Hmmmmm. We were ravenous...and another guest advised that after you grab your table---you must get in line to order.......from one staff member who was at the front counter by the door. Our table was the last one at the end of the opposite door. So 3 of us went and got in line. Honestly, this felt like ambiance to me! Once in line- we chatted with a local couple which was very nice. We finally made it up to the counter, where a very nice woman was very patient and took our order. I also had to grab a rubber spatula that was there labeled with the name of a place & their phone number as I consider that a souvenir thatI will use. They have a little area up where you can get your own glasses of water which we did. Only one of us wanted soda we each ordered something different...... The top two dishes were a chicken breast steak and a baked potato and a Houlihan jalapeño burger with curly fries . The middle of the road dish was the cheesesteak sandwich that was loaded with Ooey- gooey cheesy goodness and meat and onions & peppers. My fish sandwich just didn't hit the spot-but the fries were good-last but not least was the "mom's meatloaf" which didn't look at all like any meatloaf we had ever eaten. It was a large thin piece of mystery meat with brown gravy. My d-I-l was so disappointed. Her mashed potatoes were good and a side of cream gravy made them even better. Everybody who had biscuits also said they were delicious so lots of ups and downs with this meal. We were determined to try their famous milkshakes and that's where this diner really shined !!!! we all have different flavors and they were all absolutely delicious and made on the vintage Hamilton Beach Milkshake Machine that made about six shakes at once. The menu is extensive so really this is a very small sampling of everything they had to offer. If we had been there a little longer, we would have returned to Try some of their other meals. We definitely had a good time in our corner booth, watching black and white TV with the Three Stooges playing. We could also see the life-size Elvis, plasticized and playing a guitar -definitely a diner vibe.!!!!!

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was so cool. We definitely recommend to our friends and families to stop by here on their way to Leavenworth. The banana pancakes were my favorite. The service was great too!

Full tummy after a fun lunch! Step back in time into this 1950s style diner with a real Wurlitzer blaring (and I mean BLARING) out hits from the era. Turkey club was great and the milkshake went quickly too! Friendly counter service, but not table service- need to flag down someone if you need anything. Of course everyone was super helpful!

Food here was immaculate! Burger was gas, usually don't like crinkle cut fries but theirs was just different in a good way. Milkshake was shakinnn, fire

Stopped by this place with the puppy and it was great! We were immediately greeted by the staff who also brought over a water bowl for the puppy. Very friendly staff and good service! The food is good, husband had one of the burgers with onion rings and I had the chili baked potato. Both were delicious and the best part was the butterscotch milkshake. We got two small shakes which were still a generous portion! They had a few dog friendly items as well and our pup had the chicken breast. He's a tiny puppy and ate half the breast so we took half to go. In addition, the 50s decor was well maintained. Great ambiance. Overall, I would go back for more. Happy eating!

This is the cutest little diner. I'm Loving the 50's theme. Flo, the GM, is super kind. The crew is swift and proficient with their orders. This place is very busy so there is a little bit of a wait but honestly it never felt like it. The music and decor keeps you busy as you drift into another decade. I will say they make the BEST shakes I've ever had.

We dropped in after a hike on Steven's pass. There was seating for us right away around 4pm on a Saturday. Inside is decorated really well, by looking modern yet also staying true to its vintage theme. We really enjoyed the setting. I ordered the chicken-fried steak dinner and it was so filling. Didn't even have space for my veggies! $16 for a big plate was worth it. In addition, I splurged and ordered the large peanut butter milkshake for $8. It was so delicious and filling. Highlight of the meal!! You have to order a milkshake if you're here. The food also came quickly which was impressive. A great stop if you're driving through

Loved the hash browns and German sausage. My sunny-side up egg was no where near the runniness to be called so, but maybe that's what the locals prefer. Staff was adequate, but could use some more personality. Look really needs to be updated. I would stop by again. You should too. -- Oh! Came back to edit because I forgot the sourdough toast! It was scrumdiddliumptious. Pick that over the plain or wheat. I did not have the coffee, but my breakfast-mate said it was satisfactory. Which is important information for any breakfast establishment.

Wow does this place need some help! The wait here has always been long due to the size of the place, but today it was due to poor training and staffing. We walked in and these two girls are shouting at guests they are the only people working today and there is going to be a wait. Of course I sympathize. A few small tables are sat quickly but everyone else is told to wait. A party of 6 told them they were on a schedule and the waitresses told them it was fine. Being a small group we got sat, but there was a lobby FULL of people who stood there while we ate our whole breakfast. There were about 5 open tables but the waitresses didn't try to bus them and were running around like crazy and returning to the kitchen time and again empty handed. Eventually they shouted to the waiting area of people they were going to bus the whole restaurant (seriously) and seat everyone at once. Obviously no training here at all because the kitchen must have had no orders for 30-45mins and all of a sudden are going to get hit with a whole restaurant of orders at once so now the wait worsens - what a mess. The table of 6 that arrived at the same time as us was sat as we were finishing, but we never served. They left un-fed after an hour and a half. The food was fine but there was no excuse for the wait (forgot to mention this is a Monday at like 10:30 so not a breakfast or lunch rush happening, also not a weekend). This place has always been a dive and totally falling apart in regards to decor but it was forgivable because the food was good. I feel bad for writing this because those poor girls were working hard but they are completely untrained and the place was understaffed. There are SO MANY fantastic new restaurants in Leavenworth they are really going to have to step up their game to survive!!
