I was there for the grand opening, and the wait for a free sub was totally worth it. But I've been back since then! Last week I just had to try the OG since I started with the chicken cheesesteak in my first round. I placed my order online and when I went to pick it up it was ready. In case you didn't know, this truck is located in the parking lot with the bowling alley, but it's on the opposite side next to an Asian buffet. The staff have always been kind, and it seems ordering ahead is the way to go. I expected to wait during the grand opening because it was literally their first day, and it was a wait indeed. But it was ready 15 minutes as it said online, which was awesome. Unlike a lot of gas station trucks, it is nice there are plenty of parking spaces so you can just go back to your car and wait if necessary. I'm always down for a good sub, so when I came across this spot, I had to give it a try. It's a food truck located in a small shopping center, and the service was quick and friendly. I ordered the 9th and added provolone cheese, while my partner got the chicken cheesesteak. We also tried the steak and cheese egg rolls on the side. First thing I'll say if you love cheese, this is definitely the place for you because the subs were CHEESY! Honestly, extra cheese really isn't needed. My boyfriend wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken cheesesteak because he personally prefers sliced chicken over cubed chicken breast, but the flavor was still good. Now those egg rolls? Top tier. They came with a side of cheese sauce that was honestly so good and paired perfectly with them. The food came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. My only small downside was the bread, it was a little hard and chewy for my liking. Other than that, everything was solid. Where do I start. I love a good steak and cheese but this ain't it. Placed my order at 2:42. There were only two people ahead of me and one of those orders was for French fries. The food wasn't ready until 3:09. Customer service is nonexistent. You place your order at the kiosk and that's it. After the 27 minute wait the food arrives. I'll admit, it's piping hot. I had the steak and cheese. It's a large sandwich but extremely tasteless. The steak is bad quality and doesn't appear to be seasoned at all. The cheese isn't very good and leaves a bad aftertaste. I ate half and through the other half away. For $17 I expected more. My wife ordered the chicken cheesesteak. Again, bad chicken. Dry and seasonless. Another $17 wasted. For $36 bucks I expected better quality but this isn't it. I see why there wasn't much of a line for this trailer. I won't be back. The food isn't worth it. read more

Yea... For $17, this ain't it. It's a not a food truck. It's a trailer with a window. Could be a plus or a minus depending on your viewpoint. No "customer service" to speak of because you order on a screen only. No seating. Good size. Sloppy wrapping. Okay flavor but meat quality wasn't great. 5th & Steaks was an OK experience. I appreciate the seeded roll, however the cheesesteak as a whole was dry. The flavor was decent, however it seemed that the meat was cooked in a batch as opposed to order, which led to it drying out. The cheese didn't save it and the sturdy bread didn't help it. I like the seeded roll, but the sturdiness of the seeded role is only good if the sandwich is moist and it soaks up some of that moisture, but it seems timing is your best bet here. On busy nights when the meat is being turned over frequently, you're going to get a fresh cheesesteak experience. I'm hoping I just caught them on a bad day because I was really hoping this could be a competitive cheesesteak option in the area. The DMV is starving for better quality cheesesteaks (not steak and cheese), so 5th & Steaks certainly is a better option that what you'd get from the Chinese carry-out or some other American cuisine restaurants that offer cheesesteak sandwiches. The highlight of this experience was the cheesesteak egg rolls which were exceptional. Definitely a must try. The customer service was nothing to write home about. I finally got a chance to try 5th& Steaks in College Park, MD. THIS IS A FOOD TRUCK!!! So, I'll break down the good and the bad Pros: Taste was amazing. It truly gave authentic Philly cheesesteaks. The meat was seasoned, and any place that offers cooper's sharp cheese knows what they're doing!! Plenty of parking Cons: The wait time! I was #5 in line as soon as they opened. Estimated wait time is 15 minutes, but in reality, it took about 30-35 minutes to get my food. They rarely call out order numbers when they're ready. You could see bags waiting at the counter, but it took folks having to knock on the window to get the order. I also added peppers to my order, and they gave them to me on the side instead of cooked on the sandwich (there is a separate option to order them on the side). Advice: ORDER ONLINE ahead of time! There is no human to take your order at the truck. It is simply one kiosk/computer to order from, with the same process as you would online. And be prepared to wait a bit longer! I give these guys grace because the food was definitely worth the wait. Solid 8.5/10. read more

This is a food truck so if you blink your are gonna miss it. It's in College Park in the same center as the Bowling Alley but at the last entrance in. there is a sign that says Entrance. Now for the food truck. I have had a few people l know rave about the sandwiches here, so l had to come and see for my self. simple setup order on a lpad pad, and wait. As they cook to order so hot food is not a problem, your food is hot! Open it up and the steak is falling out of your sandwich. These are done Philly style so for us OG DC folks that has to be adjusted to but look, I'm not complaining. I took half home to the wife because it was that big and full of ribeye. Now it's not cheap but it's not overpriced either. I will say if you add fries and a drink you are getting close to a second mortgage type of thing. Finally they have around 3 versions of Steak and Cheese, also Chicken versions, and one that is done with Taylor Pork Roll of which if l have to explain it to you means you probably are not an East Coast person. Google it or ask your favorite AI for more on that. Also French fries done up a few different ways. All of it good and lethal. if you hit this place every day or weekly for that matter. Yum! Do yourself a favor next time the ribeye jones hits. Try this place first. A little info about my 5 stars. It should be rare that any brick and mortar establishment gets 5 stars. Why? Because to many things to control and most times it's gonna slip up. A food truck is different because all they can need to is have the good food as promised,and have it given to me professionally. Finally had a chance to try 5th & Steaks after following them for some time on Social Media but their other locations were too far away. When I saw the College Park location coming I was excited! I went Friday of the grand opening week. I was not disappointed! I had the BMore w/o hots. It was delicious. The price was just right. The steak ratio to bun was good. The taste was on point not overly seasoned. Can't speak much to customer service because I ordered online & was just handed my steak. The wait was shorter than the time given .
