This place is incredible - I got the sugar scrub manicure (which is all natural) because my hands get SO cracked and dry in the winter. It was really relaxing and my hands are so smooth now. The manicurist gave a wonderful massage while my hands were in the scrub. My nails came out looking great, even though they are shorter and in worse condition than ever before. He did a really nice job making them look 100x better. The place uses all organic and toxic-free supplies, which I love, and they are super cheap! I will be returning. read more

I really wanted to love this salon. I choose to go there because they use more natural products. First impression was it's very clean and neat and doesn't smell like a typical nail salon. My gel manicure was nice, although my nails were cut a little short and they are different lengths. This doesn't actually bother me too much, but normally my nails are more even when I get them done. Next I got the sugar scrub pedicure, which I was really looking forward to. The whole time my technician was answering the phone, scheduling appointments, walking away from me, and greeting and helping other customers which REALLY took away from a relaxing pedicure. Four other women got pedicures during my manicure and they didn't have to deal with any of that. I felt like mine was really rushed and my feet (which aren't even rough to begin with) could have used more scrubbing, but I could tell she was just trying to get it over with. I understand they were busy, but I did have an appointment and overall just feel disappointed in my luck with the nail tech I got. read more

Yesterday was my first time here and will definitely be back. The salon is clean, quiet and can smell a relaxing aroma as soon as you walk in. I was able to make a same day appointment for 2 pedicures. Their prices are in line with other salons, but that's where the similarities end. 5th Ave carries high end natural nail polishes that I never see anywhere else (other than at salons in NYC or Boston) along with natural scrubs, lotions, oils, etc. The chairs are very comfortable, the technicians are detailed and ends with a nice chair massage. I WANTED to love this place. I did love everything about the entire experience, the employees, the gorgeous interiors and all of their awesome non-toxic products. That being said, my nail polish started to peel off hours later. And I don't mean they chipped, I mean the polish was literally peeling off my nails in full. I would say that this is because I brought my own polish, and did not use their Zoya color, but I paint my nails with the bottle of OPI I brought weekly and never have had a problem. Maybe I should have dried longer than my usual 12 minutes? Regardless, I had a great experience besides that and would definitely try out again, using all of their products. The employees were so awesome. friendly, and informative. I just can't budge to give this over 3 starts for a $16 mani that didn't even last a few hours. read more

The salon was beautiful and clean and they did an excellent job on a design that I asked for on my nails. But within a week my gel polished nails were chipping at the tops of many of the nails. This has not happened to me before when I have gotten gel manicures done so I was quite confused when this started to happen! read more

This salon is ok, when you get a gift certificate it states "only good for 6 months..." Connecticut Law prohibits gift certificates of any kind from having an experation date. That law dates back to 2003. It irks me! read more

I found this salon recommended on Yelp, and boy am I glad I did! Very, very clean, cute and comfortable. The staff were very nice and the prices are great. I got a fantastic natural nail mani/pedi in one hour - I was the only one there so they did both at the same time. It wasn't rushed at all. It's a little out of the way for me, but totally worth it. I had a horrible experience.... even gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them a second chance...and was still treated poorly. I reported to the BBB and they ignored the complaint. I am so upset with my service at 5th Avenue nail spa. AND I even gave them a second chance and was even more disappointed. I was given a GC for $50 to get my nails done for my wedding with a brochure. With the price of $60 for a set. When they completed they told me it was $100. I showed them the brochure and they showed me their "new" brochure with the price crossed off and the price of $100 in its place. They said they had changed their prices that week. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back for a fill. Which I was told $40 as soon as I walked in. The woman stated pulling off all my nails pulled eight off and then said she would need to charge me $80 for a new set because they were all bad. So now I am sitting there with almost all my nails ripped off and looking awful. So I had no choice. I paid $60 for her to make them just look normal again after she had ripped them off but I no longer had the tips. Such a waste of money. read more

Yay! Finally a non-toxic, all natural nail salon! This place is like the Whole Foods of nail salons, but very reasonably priced. They make all the body butters, sugar scrubs and sea salt foot soaks they use from scratch! Great selection of 5 Free polishes, clean and beautiful spa-like space, friendly staff, free wifi, easy parking in back, and my toes look fantastic! I'll definitely be back! read more

I went for a manicure and the sugar spa pedicure. It was a wonderful experience. I am always looking for more organic/natural alternatives. You do need to plan for extra dry time...the regular polish does seem to take longer (which is fine with me when the harmful chemicals are left out). That being said...my regular manicure lasted way longer than it ever has with the full-toxin products. I'll be going back:) read more

Jack is great. My polish always stays on my nails. When I go to other nail places it lasts maybe a day or two before it starts chipping.

I never write reviews, but I just got a gel manicure and I wanted share the love for these guys. I've been going here for several years now. Their salon is very bright, welcoming, relaxing and clean. Their service is fantastic. Warm towel on my shoulders throughout my manicure...I think they changed it 3 times while I was there for an hour. I got three different massages while they were doing the manicure....all fantastic. My nails look amazing (trust me - they didn't when I first arrived). Such a pleasant experience....I honestly feel like I need a glass of wine and a nap now....that's how relaxed they make me feel!! read more
