6 NYC is an interesting place because 3 stars seems low but I don't think I could've justified 4 stars for a few reasons 1. Ambiance: The interior is nice, maybe a little stale since it's newer and not as crowded but nothing that matters too much. What killed me was the lighting at our table because there's one small lamp and if you order more than one dish you can only see one at a time otherwise you need your phone flashlight to even see what's on the plate. Never experienced that before Food: The food was presented well and there were some things that worked nicely but nearly every dish lacked salt. Needed salt on almost everything to pronounce the muted flavors except the dessert and the bread. The pasta was the one dish where the flavors still broke through a bit, but the mushroom dish, the steak, the monkfish... salt please Also if you want a cocktail, I did get the umami martini which was pretty good but there's only 3 cocktails to choose from and they're all low ABV which seemed a little weird for such a nice place Service: Upon arriving, we were greeted by absolutely nobody at the front, not for long but I mean cmon. The person who greeted us ended up being our waiter for the night and he was fine, but seemed like there isn't a ton of staff around Overall: The prices are actually not bad for fine dining, although the dishes are a little on the smaller side I didn't leave hungry at all, so that was a plus. Everything else just seemed a little unrefined. Maybe that's because the place is only 6-7 months old and working things out, but if you do give it a try I don't think you'll be disappointed, but maybe just underwhelmed

Wonderful dinner at 6! This meal felt like it came straight out of a foodie film--layered, thoughtful flavors and beautiful presentation across every dish. The mushroom dish was the standout and easily our favorite. The ambiance strikes that perfect balance between hip and cozy, and the waitstaff is genuinely warm, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about the menu. I can't recommend it enough--and don't let the location stop you. It's an easy, direct subway ride from the City and completely worth the trip to Brooklyn.

Cute restaurant with limited seating which makes it comfortable and authentic. The food was delicious! Good to know that seating at the bar allows you to order the burger which was a winner! Perfect addition to Carroll Gardens food scene. Also perfect spot for a date: cosy and you can have a conversation since the music is not too loud.

We had a fantastic experience at 6! Loved the ambiance in this new place in Brooklyn. The service was terrific with the waiter guiding us through the menu and helping us decide from many different items. We settled on a couple of oysters to start, the tiger bread, and summer squash with chèvre, then for mains had gnocchi with duck confit, pesto pasta, pork schnitzel, and Atlantic cod. All were beautifully plated and delicious, but the gnocchi with duck confit really stood out. The gnocchi was light and fluffy and the duck was perfectly seasoned without being too "ducky". Schnitzel was crisp and well seasoned and the pasta was unusual in that these were sheets of pasta that we had never experienced before. We finished up the night with passion fruit custard and the chocolate torte and the winner there was definitely the passion fruit. We will return!

I went into 6 on my last night in New York and only wish I'd gone every night! The food was impeccable, the staff and owner were so welcoming and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I got the 5 course meal with wine pairings and loved every bite and sip. I can't recommend this place enough -- an absolute gem!

Full bar; hookah available. I had a strawberry margarita and rum punch which were good. My date also ordered the calamari which was well seasoned and fried. I wished they had marinara or Terriyaki sauce to go with it. But I enjoyed it! The rum punch is punching! I would definitely reccomend this spot for lunch, dinner,. and vibez.

The only thing is that it took a long time to come which isnt always an awful thing because it usually means fresh but stomachs were growling. Drinks 4:5: the drinks were pretty good nothing to complain about wasnt too strong but I wasnt looking for a strong drink anyway, seems like they have a good week day happy hour before 7pm Service: 4/5 the bartender was really nice and was patient with our questions it would be a 5/5 if again the food wouldnt have taken so long Ambiance: very cute place for friends, date night or if you just want to vibe out in a Friday. The later you stay the more the party starts it seems.

I put it in my back pocket as a place I might go in the future. I was recently walking in the area when I noticed a sign saying it was open for coffee. Of course I went to check it out. At the main counter, they serve the classics (mocha, latte, chai, matcha) plus a few specials. My cookie butter matcha (with oat and flavored syrup) was less than 6 dollars. It wasn't my favorite matcha, it was a pretty good deal in comparison to other cafes in the area. They have a coffee club where you pay $40 a month for free drinks (coffee or tea based), 10% of items like cocktails, food and wine. Plus you are able to use their wifi in their space which has a funky plush aesthetic. Definitely good for people who need a place to work. It is an interesting way of using this space in the morning. Of course I was told about their happy hour and the jazz Mondays. I would come back to attend that.

Wow - what a great little spot!!!…read more Ruth is not on the beaten path for me, but I was heading down to King's Theatre for a concert and looking for a nice bar for pre-gaming. And, guess what? Ruth was just what the doctor ordered. So how would I describe Ruth? It's a cross between a speakeasy and a trendy neighborhood bar... and they serve up some tasty drinks and snacks!!! The interior is cozy with a number of arranged seating areas so parties of folks can gather together. The bar area has stool seating where you can watch the bartender make drinks... and there's even a separate back room area that looks like it could be rented out for private events. As for bartenders and staff, they are all awesome!!! Final thoughts = if you are nearby and ready for a nice drink, hit up Ruth. You'll be happy you did!

We loved the vibe and the cocktails were all incredible. Great selection. Most are $15-$16 (there's a small discount for cash) and everything we tried was very well balanced. There are quite a few tables and the bar is long, so I assume most nights it's easy to find a spot. It's definitely a great date spot and good for groups too. There's even a larger table near the entrance that could probably fit 8-10 people.

I had the cutest cocktail and they even gave me the overflow in a smaller glass. Presentation- adorable. The guacamole was decent, no complaints or anything to rave about. I was just happy that the medium had a little kick to it. And the server was super nice. Constantly checked in and complimented us. She looked genuinely happy to be there.
