We're neighborhood originals and can happily & honestly say, that our experience at Cafe Spaghetti was EXCELLENT! When we arrived they seated us at a table in a smaller section that we really weren't comfortable in. I was unaware of the various sections they have within their restaurant and picked what I thought was their larger inside seating area. Thankfully, our hostess (and every server that came through) was super accommodating and we had a short wait for a cleared table in the backyard area. Everything from drinks to food was tasty and flavorful. EVERY staff member from the bus boys to our amazing waiter Tommy, was warm, friendly and were all smiling and welcoming.... It's a Brooklyn thing that should always continue that many establishments forget about. Gia and I shared the Cacio è Pepe rice balls and pepperoncini clams for appetizers and skirt steak (app Brussels sprouts on the side) and the bronzino as main courses. All were top notch! Lots of textures and delicious. And if you go, MAKE SURE you try their made-in-house Tiramisu. It's spectacular and not to be missed. So light and so delicious. Service was good, menu had just enough selection, prices were fair, and food was good. The summer cavatelli with corn ragu was different in a good way and not heavy. It was a humid night. The chicken parm was perfect. It was crisp with a delicious sauce. My complaint and the reason for four stars and not five is twofold. I'm not sure why these new Italian places are not serving any little something as soon as one sits such as bread or maybe olives. The chicken parm came with a small side salad. We've been here a few times as we're local to the neighborhood and have always enjoyed our dinner, and have had great things to say! We came in for Father's Day and I don't know if it was just an off day, or if things are changing but they made some really big mistakes. Ceasar salad: they usually come out as a giant mound of lettuce and shavings of cheese. Ours looked like it was the bottom of the barrel and was maybe an inch above the plate. It was very leisurely presented IMO Wine: my husband asked for a glass of red wine, and was served bad wine. Straight vinegar. To the waitresses defense, he did try it and said "it's good", but was also eating the salad while taking a sip so he didn't know if it was bad or not. It wasn't until I took a sip and borderline choked on it. Cannoli: when you think of a cannoli you think of something sweet as it was on the dessert menu. This tasted like curdled Greek yogurt and I was actually worried this may have been bad as well. It wasn't sweet at all! We told the waitress and she said "someone else said the same thing". If someone else is saying the same thing, why is it still being served? Aperol Spritz: I ordered this and it was completely flat, too much Campari and was not taking me to a beach in Italy. We had dinner reservations and were seated immediately. Host was very friendly and all of the wait staff were amazing. Informative and professional at all times. We decided to start with a Caesar salad and fire roasted bread sticks to start. They even put fresh anchovies on the side upon my request. Both were very tasty. We also got the mozzerella in carraza which is something in between a mozzerella stick and a mozzerella sandwich! It was good but a little too tart for my liking. Since it was our first time at Cafe Spaghetti, we ordered several dishes to share. Started with the cacio e pepe rice balls, which had a creamy, cheesy interior and a crunchy exterior. Next was the seasonal mezzi rigatoni with a cream sauce and summer corn, cherry tomatoes and scallions. It was a perfect summer pasta and my favorite dish from the meal. I'm a big fan of Swoony's, the younger sister to this Italian hotspot, so it was about time I came and tried the original restaurant from these fine folks. With a beautiful enclosed backyard, it's an excellent choice for a weekday lunch in nice weather (closed Mondays). I met a couple friends back there, and after chatting with our nice server (the same one I've had at Swoony's) we enjoyed some cocktails and wine, and looked over the menu. We weren't feeling like pasta and sandwiches, so we just ordered all the antipasto and a caesar salad. And by all the antipasto, I mean the olives, the cacio e pepe arancini, the meatballs in sugo, the ricotta crostini, the brussel sprouts, the mozzarella en carrozza, and the fried potatoes. And it was good. I'm usually a big fan of starters, and the ricotta crostini was everything I wanted it to be. Mozzarella en carrozza is just a fancy grown-up mozzarella stick, and I mean that in a very complimentary way (especially with that calabrian chili). My experience here was nice, when we got there it was pretty empty but soon filled up as it must be a neighborhood favorite. We sat in the backyard that is now covered, not sure if they remove it to let some sun in during peak summer. It had air conditioning so I'd assume maybe not. The menu has changed from previous photos I've seen on here and google, not sure if it's seasonal. But they had great choices with a special dish of the day. Get the Garlic Twists! We got it as an appetizer and got it for our meal as well because it was so good. We also ordered baked clams, casarecce crab which has alil spice to it, and the spaghetti alla vonogle - all great flavor. My favorite was the crab pasta and twists of course. I mistakenly ordered the desert thinking it was a sorbet but it sadly was not. What a hidden gem in Brooklyn! To think Italian is the same everywhere you go is to not understand what Cafe Spaghetti brings to the table. From the food to the service to the ambiance it all comes together for a trifecta of an experience. If you can request Wes to be your server (never have met someone with so much care and attention to their craft) The restaurant is a beautiful place that feels like a home in Naples which is inviting and feels cozy. Was able to get a table within a few moments and was seated in the garden it's a beautiful environment with tables that feel like you're transported to Naples and sitting under a garden itself. There is a beautiful Vespa in the middle which only furthers the intentionality of this place to bring that home feeling. Now let's get into the service. The menu which is seemingly simple really packs a punch between an antipasti, a pasta and a main dish. For some it may seem overwhelming as all looks amazing. We were fortunate enough to have Wes guide us through this menu and provide recommendations. These recommendations did not disappoint at all. Wes was mindful of us the whole night which made a full restaurant feel intimate and cared for. Wes was a highlight of this restaurant and made the night that much more enjoyable Now time for the food began with a Cesar Romana and the flavor profile on this was amazing. The dressing is not overwhelming and each shred of lettuce was coated in this amazing toasted croutons and light coating of the dressing. It seemed so unexpected yet pack a punch! Def worth a try. We had the meatballs which comes in a plate of three and if you are coming by yourself I would recommend get the order. They are tender and not overcooked in a sauce that is unforgettable. The portion size is great and brings a great start to the meal. The mozzarella in carrozo is what took the antipasto over the top. The lemon wedge is not a mere suggestion but a portal to the next level of this dish. It is light and filling at the same time which opens up your appetite for more. For the main I ordered the fusilli with bolognese which has to be my favorite bolognese sauce ever. The fusilli was the perfect transporter of flavor and held the sauce so well in a way that could not be done in any other way again. The sauce so decadent yet so light making you feel full yet craving more. It is a dish that on its own would be worth the trip out here. The dessert was the icing on the cake (pun intended) it was a cannoli that held its own. A filling that is light and airy but also flavorful in the same manner. The shell tastes as fresh as perhaps being made moments before being served perfectly crisp and flavorful. The tiramisu felt like a bite of heaven. It is a bite that tastes like nothing I have had before it is creamy and decadent yet light at the same time I would say the perfect storm for a flavor profile that would not be forgotten. Overall this is the place you have to be! Can't wait to come back again. My fiancé and I finally broke out of our habitual eating habits for the month and checked out this local Italian spot that looked very good from pics (and passed my fiancé's routine ambiance check) and it very much lived up to expectations! I have to start with the garlic bread / twists first. They were AMAZING. They only provide two pieces of bread with the order which is bordering on criminal but the taste mostly makes up for the scarcity. For our main entrees, I ordered the chicken parm and my fiancé had the fusilli and both were great! But don't just take my word for it - check out my third pic (empty plate baby - they caught me on a hungry night with a clean conscience). The service was great as well. Our only qualm for the dinner was where they seated us in the front - right against a parking meter and next to a car parked along the curb. The restaurant looked pretty small from the outside so it worked out all the same that our reservation was outside. I'll start by raving about the crab pasta. Holy hell was this delicious. From the pasta shape, the sauce level, the bread crumbs on top, the fresh crab. I could eat this every day. We also loved the rice balls and grilled shrimp. Food is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and at a decent price point. Skip the Caesar salad, nothing special and I didn't like that the lettuce was shredded so small. One of my favorite spots. The decor and the retro music from Sinatra to disco are perfect, and it's so cozy (I've only ever sat inside, although the outdoor patio looks lovely). I've been here twice now and the first time it was great. The staff was lovely. The back outdoor space was very cute. The second time I went everything was fine except the food was so-so. First we ordered the ricotta toast with honey and nuts which was good. Then I ordered the special which was lobster over pasta in a red sauce and it was bland sadly. My bf ordered the steak which was chewy, not cooked as he requested and even though it was my birthday I honestly just wished we had just cooked at home. I ate until I couldn't eat anymore. And I don't regret it one bit. A first time, been forever on my bucket list, dinner at Cafe Spaghetti certainly met my expectations. At the recommendation of friends who have dined here many times, it was my turn to finally check them out. I'm glad I did in their company. Service was very attentive by the welcoming staff and the backyard/patio ambience was cute and quaint. Wasn't sure what to order as far as drinks were concerned. My go to Aperol Spritz wasn't an option since they didn't carry Aperol. I ordered the Spaghetti Spritz. Opinion? Didn't appeal to my tastebuds. It tasted odd and I wasn't sure which alcohol served as the main ingredient. Not only was it very bitter but I wasn't a fan of the olives included as garnish. We ordered a medley of appetizers for the table: *Arancini (no meat, delicious and recommend), *Ricotta Crostini (recommend)--creamy and sprinkled with Hazlenuts. *Brussel Sprouts (meat on the side)--pretty good but somewhat overcooked/mushy. *Caesar Salad--kind of bland and wouldn't order next time. *Spiedini--fried bread stuffed with cheese. I didn't try it. *Eggplant Parm--delicious and decadent but on the salty side. For main, I was undecided between the Spaghetti with Vongole versus the Rigatoni with Crab. At the server's recommendation, I opted for the Crab Rigatoni. Happy I did. The portion was adequate and the taste was sublime. Mini Rigatoni with Just the right amount of cream integrated with the deliciousness of the crabmeat. It also had a spicy kick due to the Jalapeño. I inhaled this dish accompanied by a glass of red wine which had smoky and spicy notes. For dessert, we shared the Spumoni which was satisfying. Perhaps not as authentic as others but quite good. Overall, my opinion of Cafe Spaghetti was favorable. I think some dishes shine while others are average. I really wanted to love this place after hearing all the hype. But when multiple dishes left our table underwhelmed, I started questioning whether it was fair to just say we "ordered wrong." In my book, any decent kitchen should churn out solid options across the menu. The eggplant parm was probably the best bet, served in a cute square ceramic dish. But the penne with crab? Underseasoned. We could barely detect any crab flavor among the blah tomato sauce and penne. The ceasar salad didn't bring any zing. The place was crowded so I was asked if the bar was ok? Sure! I didn't want a full performance, so I ordered the chicken parmigiana and the requisite side of broccoli. It came after a while and I dug in. Excellent dish! It was crispy the way I like it with excellent with a rustic sauce, home-made style with chunky tomatoes! The broccoli was perfect, with plenty of garlic and not overcooked. Just right! The one issue was $4 for a small glass of club soda. This is NOT a cheap place. Pricy guys! The boyfriend and I came here for a last minute date night, which was perfect. We arrived at 7pm on a Sunday without resy, but we led to a table in their gorgeous backyard patio. The ground is covered in cobblestone to really give you a feel of the outdoors. And can't forget the adorable Vespa centerpiece in the garden. The menu is pretty simple with a few items for each category. We started off with the Cacio e Pepe Arancini ($10 for 3pcs), which was delicious. It was perfectly cheesy and soft inside with the crispy exterior showered with Parmesan shavings. If you like cheese, you'll love this one. For my main entree, I chose Patrizia's Eggplant Parm ($26) while the boyfriend had the 10oz Prime NY Strip ($38). Even though I'm not vegetarian, this eggplant parm was so good layered with marinara, cheese, and eggplant. It did get a little overwhelming when eating by yourself, so I'd recommend sharing this dish. The steak was solid too as it came with crispy potatoes and a light salad for balance. We paired the meal with a glass of the House Red Wine ($45), which was the only thing that was a bit disappointing unfortunately. Finally, to finish the meal we shared the Hazelnut Gelato ($7), which reminded me of a Ferrer Rocher. Overall, such a cute Italian spot in the neighborhood. From the outside and intial steps inside this looks like a quaint italian restaurant, which is the exact vibe we were hoping for, but then as you are led to the back the space completely opens up and there is ample seating. The service was friendly and well-paced. We started off with the burrata, ricotta crostini, and baked clams. All were amazing however the burrata was nothing special, I would skip that if anything. The ricotta and calms were both amazing and so flavorful, wonderful way to start of the meal. For mains I got the rigatoni mezze (served with crab--pictured below), also tried the chicken Milanese, bolognese, and branzino. All were so so good but I did enjoy my pasta the most. It was spicy and creamy and perfectly Al dente. Everything was very good though. No complaints. Lastly, for dessert, we had the lemon sorbet, hazelnut gelato, and Nutella bombolonie. All were sooo good, but would recommend the sorbet as it was most refreshing and light after a big meal. Such a cute garden space and a must visit during the warmer months. I will be singing the praises of the Caprese cocktail to all who will hear. I tried the ricotta gnocchi with corn ragù and the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and although they were both amazing, that gnocchi is dazzling. The tiramisu was a nice sweet treat at the end and definitely big enough for 2 people to share. We had the foccacia appetizer and the baked clams, but I must say the foccacia was a bit on the doughy side. Literally stumbled upon this hidden gem while strolling through Brooklyn one morning. Decided to stop and have a quick brunch, which might end up being the best decision I've made this year! Every dish was tasty, balanced, and left me longing for more. The ambiance was quite relaxed for weekend brunch, and the friendly service made me feel at home in the neighborhood. My favorite dish was the classic Spaghetti Pomodoro, and the Crispy Brussel Sprouts might be the best I've had, ever.
