My wife and I finally had the chance to eat at Slap Box for our date night and we loved it. We arrived at 7pm and were seated by 7:15pm...on a Friday night! The waitstaff were great in providing recommendations based on what we like and because I couldn't decide between the City Pie and Original Mama Gallo, they suggested doing 1/2 and 1/2. I stopped in for lunch on a Monday about 1115. There were just 4 other customers and myself dining in. The kind waitress talked me through the menu and had some great suggestions. I ended up ordering the slice of the Green Goddess. My order was placed about 1120, and at 1148 the waitress stopped by my table and let me know that the kitchen messed up the one slice of pizza I ordered and they were remaking it. The slice made it to my table at 1205. So on this particular visit we are looking at well over half an hour for 1 slice of pizza to make it to me from the time it was ordered. The menu has allot of options and you can even build your own pizza if you decide to do so. The pizza slices are very big and will fill the average human up by eating just one. The taste was very good, and it tasted as if they are using quality toppings. I give them accolades for the flavor, the size, and the creativity on their pizza for sure! The ambiance is definitely an American Sports bar theme where families of all ages can enjoy. Due to the customer service of the waitress, the quality of the food, and the portion size I would be back again to eat here. A few years ago this place had one of the best wings in Austin - really juicy, with a great selection of flavors. Unfortunately those days seem to be long gone. I've avoided going to this place recently because the last couple of times I went the wings were dry inside, though the outside flavoring tasted just as good. Alas, things have not improved - I went yesterday after my haircut and was again disappointed, unfortunately. I'm not sure how they get wings so dry, but they do. Their other food is decent, but nothing to write home about, their main attraction for me used to be the wings. But no more apparently, it'll be a while before I try them again. read more

The bartender at our hotel gave a great review of Slap Box for us, so we decided to see for ourselves. Thank you, Natalie! We shared a Caprese Salad (even though fresh tomatoes are out of season, these were wonderful), Garlic Knots, and a Half and Half Specialty Pizza made from a City Pie, and an Original Mama Gallo. The City Pie was loaded with pepperoni, Italian sausage, spinach, onions, mushrooms, black olives and bell peppers. The Mama Gallo was a beautiful pie with Italian meatballs, pepperoni, tomatoes, onions, garlic and herbs. What can I say. The pizzas are stupendously good. Great old style pizza with a nice selection of toppings to build you one just for you if you insist. One downfall is you get confused when ordering to pick up, you actually have to go to a different location a block over and pick your to go orders there. Not sure why but it's still worth the hassle. It's always packed on weekends and some weeknights so I suggest you call ahead and see what the wait is. Nice outdoor and indoor seating and roomy with the way they laid out the tables and.chairs. I've come here for lunch a few times and I've enjoyed the friendly service and reasonable prices. For appetizers, I recommend the garlic knots with marinara and the salt & pepper fries. The slices of pizza are huge! The slices are thin and my latest one was on the crispier side. They have more variety of slices during the day before 5 pm so try them out for lunch if you're looking to try their specialty slices. Afterwards, they mainly sell cheese and pepperoni. Slap Box is an interesting name for a Pizzaria with an included drafthouse. I stumbled upon this spot after Google searching "pizza near me". I was sawyer by the 4 star Yelp reviews, I had detour from my original plan to visit Pinthouse Pizza. There's plenty of parking in fact there's an indoor covered parking lot on the same block around the corner. Upon entry the ambiance is well wonderful. There's enough tables and an ample amount of TV's to watch any of your heart's desire for sports. I proceeded directly to the bar to order my pizza and beer to go. When I sat down at the bar I ordered a pepperoni pizza and some water. After the pizza arrived after about 15 minutes or so I decided to sample a couple of ciders. I tried the Meridian Hive Cherry and the Meridian Hive Rhapsody. I ended up buying the Meridian Hive Cherry. It was on the sweeter side think like a wine. When I finally tried the pizza it was pretty good. It was above average and I would try it again. The wings were really good. The sauce was flavorful and robust. The chicken was very good too. I went to Slapbox Pizza in old Round Rock during the recent holiday season. I went with a group of 4 adults mid-afternoon. Upon entering, the desk is immediately on the left. The dining room is one large rectangle with three rows of seating. In the far right corner there is a smallish or medium sized bar. There are TVs and neon signs are scattered around the walls. The lighting is quite dim. The noise level was high and the place was packed with people waiting for to-go orders while diners were occupying the bar and tables. Although nothing about the place screamed kid-friendly, numerous children actively ran around the room. We were greeted promptly and waited for a booth to be readied. We ordered a large Monte Sereno pizza and a gluten free Monte Sereno pizza too. The description reminded us if gyros, so we imagined a gyro pizza. The waitress seemed either preoccupied or apathetic. Once ordered, we waited over 40 minutes for our pizzas. During that time, the noise level prevented easy conversation within our group. At least a dozen people were waiting to pick up orders and they stood around between the tables. Meanwhile, the under-10 set ran around from all corners of the room. They ran between the standing people and the tables like super bounce balls. There appeared to be little supervision. By the time our pizza arrived we were pretty hungry. Sadly, it was a let-down. The pizza was dominated by other toppings but had little gyro meat. The gluten free pizza was unfortunate. The crust was more like a cracker and was at times difficult to chew because it was so hard. We were disappointed. The experience left me confused. Overall, maybe this place is better suited for a daycare than a bar or pizza place. Located in downtown Round Rock, this pizza place is right next to the Main Street plaza. During CoVid times, we ordered to-go and ate in the plaza next door since it was a lovely afternoon. Be forewarned, if you get a slice... it is a BIG slice! See the La Jolla slice picture. It's huge! The kids loved their pizza. Not a surprise there since it was your typical pepperoni. I had a GF, vegan pizza for the first time and it was pretty good. I'm so glad they had this option on the menu so I didn't have to order a salad. These wings are 15/10. Sticky in the best way. Crispy and meaty. My favorite Thai chili wings I've had. Pizza is thin crust and one slice is easily shareable, but you won't want to share because it's so good. Got the mango cart beer and it was phenomenal. I think it paired well with the sweet wings Service is 3/5. upon walking in to the restaurant we were immediately discouraged. As we stood at the hostess stand not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 different employees all managed to look at us standing waiting to be seated before coming to greet us. We have been there twice. It is great pizza. But the wait times are ridiculously slow. It shouldn't take 45 to 1 hour to get 2 slices of pizza. If this establishment can not handle the place being at full capacity, then you should have a larger kitchen staff or better trained wait staff. read more

The pizza is either amazing or almost amazing, so if you get hooked like me, you'll feel like you're chasing the original amazing experience. First of all, pizza by the slice is a giant slice, not floppy. It is crisp and at its best, elegantly delicious. At its worst, it's a little dry on sauce. If you want to buy a pizza that is composed of the giant slices, you must order a Giant 30" pizza. I really wish they'd just put a picture on their website menu because it's really easy to order a regular pizza by mistake, which we did once. We didn't care so much, but my kid who was so psyched about her giant slice was bummed bummed. Anyway, the pizza is all I've tried, and I prefer the giant with extra sauce because otherwise it's underwhelming. We like 600 degrees pizza at Georgetown but until recently we dint know slap box too belongs to them. We ordered garlic knots and cheese pizza with pesto. Ordering online was easy, we reached there early before the specified time but still our order was done already. Garlic knots was not good, no flavors, it dint even feel fresh, could taste garlic but not even a hint of butter but the sauce it came with was so good. Pesto cheese pizza was awesome, pesto was so fresh and flavorful. crust, cheese, everything was just delicious. Will be back again soon for more pizza! read more

Have a craving for some awesome wood fired pizza - look no further than 600 degrees!!! At times it can get a little busy, but we've never early had to wait there for too long. Or a quick stroll around Georgetown square (very cool, if you've never been) to kill some time. City Pie is Great or try the Sunset - but they also have delicious wings, if you want to accompany the pizza. They also have a giant slice (with a pickle on the side) - great option for kids or even you (the adult)... Lots of different beers, a few ciders (not much, but still an option)...their salads are also really tasty. Bottom line, the pizza is totally worth the drive if you're not close by. read more

This was our first time here and it was sort of confusing finding this establishment as it appeared they were working on their original location, so they had moved a couple doors down. It was a busy night that we were there and there was a festival going on downtown so they were slammed. I came here for dinner tonight for the first time ever. It is a very fun, lively place. They have chicken wings and pizza and salads and meatballs and hummus and more. We got a gluten-free pizza with cheese for the children, my daughter and I each got a beautiful house salad, which was very generous, we got a specially made hummus and pita bread for the table. My son got a large pizza with pepperoni and it was beautiful! It was So Good! We also got beer and I got a bottle of rainwater, which is a sparkling water made in Austin. It is so good! I pushed a lemon in the top and enjoyed every bit of it. The service was amazing. Our servers name was John, and he did not miss a beat, even with us ordering special things off of the menu, like a bowl of cucumbers, to go next to the hummus. . They have several TVs on three of the four walls so everyone can see the sports games. They have tables and they have booths. I look forward to coming here again! Delicious and massive slices of pizza, great wings, and a good time! The cheesy bread wasn't my favorite though; it was a bit oily.

I liked the atmosphere at this place. Super spacious, many TVs, interesting decor, all with close by tables and nice lighting that gives the restaurant an intimate vibe. And yes, liked as in past tense. The pizza is pretty solid. But unfortunately overall the service is just a touch below mediocre. I've actually come here several times but no more. My enjoyment goes down each time. I was once sat at this weird little table for two where the seats are side by side. It was super awkward to sit like that in the middle of the restaurant. Then we were ignored for several minutes before we just up and left. You can get better pizza and service elsewhere. If it's empty it'll probably be worth a go, but if there's a bunch of tables sat, move on. read more

I honestly do not know where to begin with this review......I get it, possibly short staffed, since I did see a sign out front, but management should adjust how many patrons are seated if that's the case. 1. We signed up for space available seating for six people, mind you, two were planning to order single slices. His name was AJ, AJ was not attentive, didn't write ANYTHING down, did not take our drink orders(he was reminded by the bar staff). After he "mental" took our order down l noticed the "I got you look", AJ did not have us. Nope, ordered sweet tea, got unsweetened, came back with an excuse, we brushed it off. Ten minutes later, came back and asked my wife and I what pizza we ordered(again, he wrote it down mentally), I asked him to guess...when I told him a number 12 he replied, "I knew it, was just checking." I honestly could keep going on number two, as the service was just that....shit. 3. Nothing, I mean nothing arrived on time. My Brother received his pizza before ANY of the the reheat and serve slices came out. My wife and I got ours after he'd finished half of the pizza. After the complete shit show for service, as soon as our pizza came out we got a to-go box. I could expound on every one of these points, but I won't. All in all the bill was $145, only one beer was ordered. I was "fine" with leaving a $20 tip for the service we received, but was talked into being generous. My old self would not have been so nice. Stuck in traffic and discovered this little gem in Round Rock. This place is amazing. It's suppose to be a Pizza joint but it's so much more. We had the Pork Shanks and the Hot Wings. Absolutely delicious. There have a variety of sauce choices. My wife doesn't do spicy foods, so we had the "Dry Rub Ranch" Hot Wings. OMG. Great! But the best choice is the Pork Shanks. Think of a Pork Rib, but twice as thick and twice as tender with great flavor. Every sauce and salad dressing we tried was amazing. Hats off to the chefs who tested the combinations of these great selections. So come on out and try them, you won't be disappointed. The service is excellent. This was my first time going here. I was quickly seated and I didn't have to wait. My server was a very nice man with a beard. He gave me a couple of suggestions for appetizers, but I chose the Thai Chilli Wings. They were very delicious! I got the side of ranch with it. I also chose to get the slice of pepperoni pizza and added banana peppers, which was also very delicious. It came out quickly and before my appetizer, but I didn't really care too much about that anyway it just surprised me a bit. the prices aren't too bad either. The slice of pizza is cut from a 26" whole pizza and it's $6. I loved the atmosphere of the whole place. They had a long table where people were playing chess at. Perhaps one of the best local pizza places in Round Rock. Their menu is definitely creative, they have a lot of amazing pizza combinations or you can always create your own. You can also order a whole pizza or order by the slice which my wife loved since she usually doesn't eat too much. We ordered the Orig Mama Gallo and it came with sliced meatballs and pepperoni. The combination of meats were great. The crust and dough were amazing and so soft. Their beer selection is quite extensive, I found a local beer from a small brewery I had never heard of before. I loved it so much that I ended up visiting the local brewery in Pflugerville. Definitely give it a shot if you are a pizza lover like I am. read more
