Stopped in today for dinner. Hubby ordered the Salmon, son ordered the cheese steak, and I ordered the Blazing Burger - medium with zucchini as my side. Hubby and son loved their dinner. Mine was way overcooked and dry. The waitress offered to replace it but my son split his with me and was very yummy so she took the burger off the meal. She handled it very well. Kept our drinks full. The music was overly loud early in the day. We got there around 4:30. We will stop back and try it again, just will try something different. $18 for a burger, it should be amazing. read more

I needed a last-minute reservation somewhere we could grab food, drinks, and watch the Longhorns game, and found Bar Louie. When we arrived, I was super surprised to see it's actually attached to the Embassy Suites. It has its own entrance and accessible parking. The hostess was great and seated us right away, and we totally lucked out with a table right in front of a TV. It's a very accessible place for a wheelchair, with plenty of room to get around. The vibe is fun and laid-back, with local celebrity murals, a live band, and even a disco dance floor! This place is great for all sizes including large groups. There was a bachelorette party going on. They were having so much fun! I ordered the BLT chopped salad, my husband went for the pepperoni flatbread, and for dessert we ordered the chocolate cake and strawberry cheesecake (sauce on the side). Everything was pretty tasty, especially for bar food. They have a full bar and the beer on tap was cold. Our waitress (wish I could remember her name) was fantastic, checking on us often without hovering. We asked her to change the channel to the game, and she was very accommodating. By 8 p.m. most tables were taken, so definitely make a reservation if you don't want to risk it. Between the good food, great service, and a Longhorns win, I'd say it was a good night out! read more

We jumped into the menu with the spinach artichoke dip and a round of Shirley temples. I partook of a big boy drink in the form of a Long Island ice tea. The Bean gave their version of the Philly cheese steak a try. I opted for the salmon sliders while our son tempered the all night burger. Out daughter played it safe with the chicken tenders. The appetizer was a good start. Gave signs of promise. But we found the entrees wanting. The cheese steak and salmon sliders were bland, with no seasoning. I would assume a culinary safety measure, however these dishes were nothing to write home about. Chicken tenders were chicken tenders. Nothing out the ordinary. The all night burger was cooked well but, again, no seasoning. The Long Island was more tea than Long Island. Service was great and we enjoyed the visit. The environment is nice and spacious. It is not pretentious at all and the crowd was very diverse when we went in April to watch the NFL Draft. The food is pretty good for a sports bar. The only thing lacking during our visit was "Service." We sat at the bar and there were two bartenders/servers working there at different times. Neither was friendly or welcoming or gifted at customer service. One was lowkey rude and kind of aggressive with a negative attitude. She just seemed tired and frustrated and acted as if she did not want to be there at all. I guess it is hard to find good help these days. We asked if they could turn up the volume on the NFL Draft, but they said no. That was disappointing and lessened However, I will probably be back to watch another game this fall when college football starts. We stopped here for brunch on Sunday as we were big fans of Bar Louie when we lived in St Louis. This location is in the Embassy Suites, although it has its own entrance and is actually very well separated from the hotel. We had to ask for the brunch menu, even though it was served till 3 and it was only 12:30. The food was very good, and the tots were as amazing as we remembered. I had the bacon and egg flatbread, which was drizzled with ranch and quite good. The flatbread was well baked and crispy, but still soft and chewy. My spouse had the wings and burger sliders-he had ordered them without cheese but something must have gotten mixed up bc they came out with cheese. We were hungry enough that we just scraped the cheese off as best we could rather than send it back. The kids had a pepperoni flatbread pizza and chicken tenders. Very good sized portions for kid's meals. We made reservations online as we weren't sure if it would be crowded-but at the time we went we didn't need them. Buyer beware! Bar Louie 's is a rip off! I was travelling in to stay at the Embassy Suites in Round Rock, and I am coming in kind of late so I called Bar Louie's (the number from their website) to order a grilled chicken Caesar salad that is priced for $19.50 on the menu. And I get to the hotel to pick up my salad and check in my room and they charged my $27.62! I looked at my receipt and they add over $7 in fees for calling in my order. I asked for the manager and the manager never came out to address me, but sent a messenger to inform me that they automatically add a $3 service fee just for calling in my order AND an 18% gratuity! And two other things, I gave the waitress $309 and she gives me back $2, I guess they dont carry change. Second, I wish I could post a pic of how ((small)) this salad is! It is literally the size of a side salad with a few slices of grilled chicken! I'm still hungry after spending $30 on dinner. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND eating at Bar Louies in Round Rock! read more

Bar Louie is the perfect spot in Round Rock to listen to fun bands, eat good food, and have a drink or two. I've been to Bar Louie twice so far, both times during happy hours on Tuesdays (when burgers are half price). Both times, I was in a group with others who'd been there before. Both times, we had the same waitperson. The food tasted great both times, but I could tell on Wednesdays that I'd consumed lots of sodium the day before. Bar Louie is a restaurant chain (it calls itself a gastropub) based in Texas. In Round Rock, it's located in the Embassy Suites hotel on Mays St. between University Blvd. and Westinghouse Rd., and has a prominent exterior entrance off Bass Pro Drive. Happy Hours run until 7 pm daily, and the close-in parking spaces can fill up by 5 pm. There are reduced prices on a large selection of food and beverage items during happy hours. The place can get noisy at times, between the ambient music (which can include live entertainment some evenings), people talking, and the live surfaces. Everything I've eaten at Bar Louie, from "bar bites" to burgers, has been long on flavor, with interesting and good combinations of ingredients. Burgers are cooked to order (although my first was somewhat undercooked), and a side of fries or tater tots is included, packed into a cup. For vegetarians, there's the Impossible Burger (as well as other vegetarian fare). But there is much more available besides burgers. There are loaded flatbreads, wings, sandwiches, and entrees. There's a great selection of craft beers and cocktails, too. Service is good, even though the waitstaff seems very busy. There's a variety of seating options, including booths that seat up to 5, low and high tables, and the bar area. Bar Louie has a "Louie Nation" app that rewards its customers with points that may be used as credit towards future food purchases. If you join this loyalty program, be sure to get a paper receipt and scan the QR code to get credit for your purchases. I came in last night with another party to get some late night eats. When we walked in, it was about 11:50 and were told that the kitchen would close within 10 minutes, and as such, the hostess recommended that we place an order at the bar. Therefore, my company and I headed straight to the bar to put in an order ASAP. Sooooo with this said, let's go! When we sat at the bar, we were promptly greeted by William (the bar back). William was attentive, funny, and had an upbeat demeanor. What we got... Chicken Nachos The nachos were typical of what one would find in a pub. These were covered with a generic cheese sauce, fresh jalapeño slices, a mystery green sauce, tomatoes, and chicken. These bar munchies satisfied my hangry demeanor, but it isn't something I would order again. Dry rub chicken wings The bone in chicken wings were made with an Old Bay dry rub and paired with ranch and celery sticks. These were actually some of the better wings I've had. The wings were juicy and had excellent flavor. Dranks Double Hendricks and Tonic ×2 and Vodka & Sprite x2 Both of the drinks my companion and I ordered were simply to make, but these drinks were some of the nicest dressed that I've seen (with cool cucumber and lime). The atmosphere here reminds one of a dance club mixed with a bar. On one side of the establishment, there is a stage with a karaoke set-up with the bar in the middle and high-tops surrounding the bar. Apparently, per the bartender, there are two nights when local bands perform at the establishment, one night is designated for karaoke, and the other nights are themed music nights like country, etc. There seemed to be many locals at the bar as there was a familiarity amongst the patrons and bartenders. I went here on a Friday night to celebrate a family friend's birthday. It was too crowded but we had reservations since it was a large party. They had a live band playing all the jams while we ate. I had the Thai calamari and the BLT&A salad with salmon. It was a huge salad but it was so good. The calamari was good as well which I was surprised about because we were at a bar like restaurant. My review was deleted so I am reposting it! I wanted to clarify that the issue I experienced was with how both bartenders treated me. The bartender who took my order never mentioned that happy hour food could not be ordered to go. She took my order, printed my ticket, and I received my food. Only afterward did she come out to tell me that I would need to pay full price. I explained that I would only pay the original happy hour price reflected on the ticket she initially printed. Instead of taking responsibility for the misunderstanding and honoring her mistake, she attempted to charge me full price. When I declined to pay that amount, she took the food back. The entire situation felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially given how it was handled by both bartenders. Here is my initial review: I've been coming to this place since they first opened, but the last two visits have been disappointing -- and unfortunately, this will be my last. It was a Monday around 6 p.m. The same bartender from my previous visit was working. I remembered tipping her well last time despite her being unfriendly, but this time was worse. When I sat at the counter and wiped it down myself because it was dirty, she snapped, "I'll get that in a moment," then never returned. She even asked another bartender to take care of me, which made it clear I wasn't welcome. My drink was eventually poured, and I placed a happy hour order. I wanted to add to it, but both bartenders continued to avoid me. After quite some time, the bartender finally came back, and I explained how uncomfortable I felt. She apologized -- then informed me that because my food was to-go, I'd be charged full price since "happy hour doesn't apply to to-go orders." She admitted she hadn't told me that earlier, but still insisted on charging full price. I declined the food at that point. I've never felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome in a bar or restaurant. I was so excited that this place opened in Round Rock. When I lived in Tennessee, it was one of the best places to go out. We got a room at the hotel so that we would be able to have a fun night and not have to drive. The venue was about 3/4 full. We found a table in a great spot that was empty, but still had glassware on it. It took about five minutes to find an employee to ask them if they could clear the table. Nobody came back so after about 10 minutes, I went to the bar and ordered our drinks. I had to wait for a while before a bartender came to take my order. And then, they were going to take the order of somebody showed up after me. I got our drinks and took them back to the table, which was still dirty. I decided to bus the table myself and gathered the glasses and took them to the bar. An employee behind the bar told me that I could not do that and that I could not put the glasses on the bar. I asked her where she would like me to take them for her. This angered her, but I was pretty upset at how long it took us to get any sort of service. I get that a bar can be busy on a weekend night. I was a corporate trainer in the service industry myself. I decided to close my tab at that point. And that really sucks , because we paid for a room so we could have fun there. The band was great. The hotel was great, but the service at Bar Louie was definitely lacking. We finally met the server that was working in our area. Her name was Felicity, and she was lovely. Even though we didn't order anything from her, she was still friendly & attentive. I was hoping that it would be a fun place for girls night. It's a great size, location, and vibe. This location is attached to the Embassy Suites Hotel in Round Rock and is a convenient location for dining when staying at the restaurant. Already a fan of Bar Louie, I was glad and dined there twice during a stay for business. My first visit was a dine in opportunity and then I ordered to-go on the second occasion. While dining in, we were seated promptly. The location filled up quickly so we had a little bit of wait for service but the waitstaff was friendly. There was a pretty extensive happy hour menu. All members of my group thoroughly enjoyed their meal but some of our orders didn't arrive the way we requested. On my to go visit, I ordered at the bar and was able to order a cocktail to take along with my meal. The food arrived quickly and was thoroughly enjoyed once again. The staff, a completely different team, still gave really friendly service. I will definitely be back on future visits to Round Rock. read more

I had such high hopes for this place. I was so excited to find out there was a Bar Louie here. I'd always go back home in Chicago before they started closing them. The restaurant is connected to a hotel so has shared parking with the hotel. The restaurant is a decent size and decorated nicely. They have a stage for live performances as well as a colorful dance floor. I went with a larger group for brunch and I was kind of disappointed. The waiter's service started off great, offering suggestions and trying to make things easier but as the time went on, you can tell he became a bit frustrated. While I understand larger groups result into longer wait times and some mishaps, it should not result into snappy responses to the customer. The brunch menu consists of a variety of drinks (some can be ordered as pitchers), small bites, as well as entrees. I ordered a mimosa pitcher ( was good and comes mixed already) to share and the Baked Western Omelette. It consisted of baked eggs, diced smoked ham, red and green bell peppers, caramelized onions, three cheese blend, scallions, side sourdough. A different spin on the omelette considering the egg was actually baked. The omelette was served in a cast iron skillet but was very bland, had no taste at all. I had to add salt, pepper and salsa to my omelette which I hardly ever do. I'd probably pass on brunch here but I wouldn't mind trying out their happy hour or dinner. read more

Attended my friend's birthday celebration there and had EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE by Tracy (sp?)!!! We had a big group and not once did anyone wait for anything! It was like we were the only group there, but obviously we were not. Will definitely be going back on a Saturday 10-3 to visit Tracy again since she is bartending for their Saturday Brunches!!!
