Longtime Customer But Extremely Disappointed With My Last Experience Previous posted on Google and decided to post on here too. I've been going to Omar since his previous shop, and when he opened this new one, I followed because his service used to be A1. But everything changed when I bought a system from him and this review is long overdue. To start, the system was a bit overpriced. I didn't complain at the time that's on me. I'm a very patient guy. I paid in full the first day so he could order my system, and I was told the parts would be there the next day. It actually took two days not a huge issue. I dropped off my car at 9 AM and asked to have it done by the end of the day. At 5 PM, I get a text saying the car's not ready and they need to keep it overnight. I messaged him the next morning and told him I needed my car by 11 AM for an event. Omar picked me up (which I appreciated) and took me to the shop. But again, the car wasn't ready for another hour and a half. When I finally drove off, I didn't even get a full block before the system completely cut off. I messaged him on Instagram, and he told me to come back. They replaced the fuse, and I left. Later that same day, it cut off again. I brought it back the next day, and again same issue. This time I was far in Chula Vista, and he sent me to his dad's shop (who was great, to be honest), and they upgraded the fuse from 200W to 500W. System stopped cutting off, but I started smelling smoke a lot of it. I've had systems in the past, and never had an install go this wrong. Omar blamed someone else for recommending a 5000W amp and said it was too powerful for the subs. He ended up lowering the amp wattage but by then, two subs had already blown out. Then another two blew the next day. In total, I replaced five subs under warranty... after nine visits to his shop. At this point, I felt like I was being pushed to the back burner even though I had spent a lot of money and time with him. I honestly felt like I got played. Omar seemed like a genuine guy, and I wanted to believe he'd take care of me but this experience showed me otherwise. What really topped it off: he offered me a $300 refund or in-store credit. I originally chose the store credit, but then changed my mind and asked for the cash. Suddenly, he said, "Actually, I lied I only owe you $100." After we had already agreed on $300. That was the final straw. I've held off on writing this, but people deserve to know the full story before doing business here. I'm not here to bash anyone just sharing my real experience after giving more chances than most would read more

Honestly i'm not one to give bad reviews because I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. But this shop screwed me. First- I was quoted 2 hours to install a sub and amp at $80/hr (have screenshots). Head unit ranged from $200-500 so I chose a good head unit. I told them my car and they said they work with them all the time no big deal (E90 335i with iDrive). Drove 45 mins to find out labor was actually $120/hr "with discount" and figured i'm already here, I took the day off whatevever. After 6-8 hours or so, I got my car back with my idrive not working at all. They also "ordered the wrong bracket" so I had a nice gap in my stereo dash for a few weeks while they ordered the correct one. My dash trim wasnt installed fully, not sure how you dont press it in all the way as you put it back but whatever. My floor trims removed to install wiring to the subs werent fully installed and some of the clips were broken. Second- They said I needed a new speaker amp halfway through install and i had to pay an additional 200 and an install kit which delayed install longer Third- Apparently to get idrive to work, they needed to uninstall the $400 head unit I bought and instead installed a $150 unit into the idrive area at "no cost". Well i'm not sure where the other $250 went, but it's a shady shop so here we are. Fourth- They said they needed my factory amp to install the new idrive unit, so the aftermarket amp that they made me buy was no longer necessary. So $200 wasted, cool. When i asked about a refund they said i scratched their head unit that i initially bought. So they would only refund $100. At that point i'm over it. I still have the amp if anybody wants it, only used for 3 days thanks to this shop. This shop is terrible. They try to upsell and say they know what they are doing when they clearly dont. I'm NEVER going here again. I suggest you don't either. I have many receipts, times where the owner hung up on me as my sub was clearly smoking and broke down. He got agressive towards me and I realized this dude isnt worth my time. I don't review many places and when i do they are usually good. I'm only doing this to help. I'm a huge car guy and only wanted to take my car in so it is done right. I played it off as I didnt know much and they tried to take advantage. I've learned to never take my car here. I'll go to car stereo city where they did my last 3 cars with ZERO issue. read more

Update: Omar at 619 Audio immediately came to me and refunded my $120. Omar is very serious about providing good customer service!! I am happy with 619 Audio. Not so happy with the Acumen company. If I can figure out how to leave a review on their website I will. Just under a year ago I purchased and had installed a vehicle camera system from 619 Audio in Spring Valley Ca. I purchased the Acumen Legend 4 channel to give me front, sides and rear camera recording. One main feature I was looking for is the rear camera. I purchased a camper trailer to pull behind my pickup and wanted visibility behind it. With this in mind I purchased an additional license plate camera to mount on back of the trailer. This would just require disconnecting the truck camera and connect the camper camera when towing. Easy enough. Except less than one year later a connection fails. A pin pulled out of one connector on the pickup side. I return to 619 Audio to get the cable replaced thinking would be under warranty but I was wrong. It's costing me $120. Acumen says the product carries a 2 year warranty. Not much of a warranty. Very disappointing!!!!!!! My plan to ensure this does not happen again, because it will with these crappy connectors is to make some jumpers that allow me to use heavier duty connectors. Easy to do if you have the pin outs but Acumen Camera will not provide these. Again, very disappointing!!!!! 619 Audio guys are nice but I do not trust their products OR warranties. read more
