Took in my Toyota 4Runner Limited V8, which I am super protective of, to get a new stereo system install along with a back up camera. These guys took care of it all within a couple of hours. Mike charged me an arm and a leg, close to $1K which is a little pricey but I got the Sony system that I wanted along with a 4K resolution back up camera. The guy that installed my back up camera tried to skip the install and just zip tie the camera to the bottom of my bumper, then I told Mike and he told him to install it the correct way and don't ever do that. But that guy was just trying to skip some work... They did a really good job replacing my stereo system, it came out super clean without any open spaces or issues. But they did fail to connect my stereo system to my controls on my steering wheel so I had to return for another part and to get this taken care of, also my subwoofer in the rear was blown so I had them replace it the same day. Now my car sounds amazing and my dashboard looks better than it has in 20years. Definitely still looking around for cheaper location but if you need to find a reliable place that could service a 4Runner without any issues, then stop by here. What can I say about Chula Vista Car Audio, they are there to help you. I have had many different vehicles worked on here throughout the years. I can honestly say I have had over 10 vehicles done here. No job is to small or to big for this establisment. I have never ever had any issues with the personal or the professional installation group that works on the vehicles. Out of all the vehicles, there have been minor things gone wrong or I wanted to keep upgrading, and never had I have them not take care of me. What you get with this installment is HONESTY, VALUE, and GREAT SERVICE. Come give them an opportunity. Things and times are not like before. Upgrading into newer vehicles was a thing of the past. It seems like we are realizing that the older vehicles are more dependable and they just need certain upgrades to start loving are vehicles again like when we first got them. This place was recommended by a coworker. I called and was told they can work on my truck. I try installing a stereo on to my truck myself but couldn't get it to work because my truck came with factory Bose system and a pro can get that to work. I also was getting a backup cam installed by them. I get the called, my front speakers aren't working and i was recommended to replaced them, but they were working. I asked to please check the connection but was turned down and offered some of their speakers. After everything was ready i picked up and later found out my tv/dvd player in the ceiling had no sound too. I brought it to their attention and was told that i needed to buy a device to connect to it and get frequency from the stereo, which I'm cool with that but should have given me a heads up about everything before working on it. His respond was that I came in for the stereo install and sound from stereo nothing else. Doesn't it all fall into the same thing? No sound you fix all sound, right? If I knew all this was going to happened I would've gone to my place south of the border where I got the front speaker to work because the connection was corroded( NO NEW SPEAKERS REPLACEMENT NEEDED) and finish what they couldn't. I thank them very much for what they did but also should've listen to what i had to say and done a little more to keep me somewhat happy with the work. Reason being, the reader and Chula Vista Car Audio would probably minimize the true real concerns of: 1) Deceit/Dishonesty 2) False information Chula Vista Car Audio provided to the financial companies (Amica and Snap) they are utilizing. 3) Predatory and juvenile tactics used by Chula Vista Car Audio 4) Customer credit card abuse and misuse 5) Products listed with no prices. Installation charges with no prices. No itemized list or formal invoice 6) Reporting to proper authorities. No willingful and paying customer deserves this experience. 7) Customer denial of rights of purchased goods and warranties 8) Customer's mental health dealing with this horrible and ongoing experience. I am writing to make a formal complaint against a Chula Vista Car Audio employee, 'Johnny' (who normally wears a baseball cap), about the inadequate, unsatisfactory and possibly fraudulent service I received from the aforementioned establishment. He comes off as good-natured and over-friendly which is just a possible cover for his ulterior motives- deceit and a predator. Several months ago I entered Chula Vista Car Audio with good faith to buy a full quality sound system. After realizing that my product list was extensive and going into the thousands (was originally being helped out with another employee) out comes "Johnny" from behind the counter. So, the song and dance started. Charismatic as he thinks himself perceives he had suggested financing through Amica. As he was crunching the numbers for pre-approval he had entered my monthly income as $9,500.00! I did not provide that information but he continued crunching the numbers. I found out later, 'he cooked the books' to make the allowable amount financed higher than what was suitable for me. Therefore he can add whatever he chooses as product installation costs. I have yet to this day have any product cost and installation charges on paper. SNAP was also introduced to help finance another 3K . After he crunched the numbers he wanted my credit card info to 'start the finance' of the remaining 3K. I found later that same afternoon I was fully charged 3K on my credit card! I am contracted to work at several schools in the Chula Vista Area. One day, while visiting a particular school, I saw that my car, that was supposed to be in the Chula Vista Car Audio Shop (week 2), parked in the school parking lot (photos enclosed). I was shocked and had asked a school employee as to who drove up in this vehicle. Johnny was the person identified (I do have a witness) who worked as a parking director for the school in the morning. I approached a surprised Johnny. He said he was just 'testing the car out' and it would be ready for pickup that day. The next day I picked up my car as he left paperwork and original parts in the car. What was missing: Final invoice and itemized list of products and service charges and costs, manuals of Car Stereo/Alarm System and warranty info for all products paid for! I had called Johnny the next day and he just sent me the handwritten estimate of products minus cost of each product and services. It appears that Johnny was "cooking the books" and writing out any amount he sees fit. This is all I got! (photos included). I have no warranties for the products I had paid for! Then something popped out of my rear-bumper days later! (photo included). Poor workmanship and if it was damaged I had no warranty to back up the cost. I wonder if this is standard practice at Chula Vista Car Audio but Johnny is a representative of Chula Vista Car Audio. I am a businessman myself and his practices of taking advantage of a good and willing paying customer are hurtful, deceitful and a slap in the face of true well-meaning businessmen and women everywhere. I find what happened to be unacceptable at all scales and request Johnny be true to his customers. 'Johnny" has repeatedly and completely ignored all my requests. Chula Vista Car Audio got fully paid for services and products as immediate satisfaction and the balance is fully in the hands of Amica and Snap. I have exhausted all my efforts to contact Johnny and Chula Vista Car Audio Ignoring my phone calls and texts does not make this go away. It only strengthens the fact Now it is beyond a reasonable solution. I have filed with the Small Claims Court Division of San Diego. Papers will be delivered to Chula Vista Car Audio by independent courier. I had also filed a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs as the Better Business Bureau suggested because Chula Vista Car Audio had received an 'F' rating while trying to apply for accreditation with the BBB. Why? Because of two similar finance and credit card abuse complaints filed against Chula Vista Car Audio which also, which is no surprise, went unanswered and unresolved. True and unfabricated. Buyer beware but buyers do have rights and a right to be treated as decent people. read more

I bought a car a couple months ago and really wanted to get a kill switch/ alarm for it. Called around multiple places, even went to a couple. These guys were the most friendly professional and least expensive on over the phone. They were also the only business that kept the price quoted over the phone and helped us as soon as we walked in. Called about getting the aftermarket stereo replaced since it wasnt working right and was going to put the factory one back into my wife's Ford Edge but they told me bring it in and let them try and troubleshoot it first so drove down there and after trying everything nothing. Ended up talking to Mike and he showed what he had on hand and kits that would would work with the Edge and after quoting me a real good price for everything I decided on a new Alpine. Mike for real is cool to deal with he got the new kit ordered for me and i dropped it off a few days later and they knocked it out quick. First I have got to say that CHULA VISTA CAR AUDIO & SECURITY is my new one stop shop to get my car worked on!!! I went to a car audio shop and got a quote for an Alarm and the dude gave me some BS price!!! So I ended up still needing an alarm for my car as I was cruising down Broadway and saw CAR AUDIO sign plastered on a wall of a building!!! Decided to stop!!! I think it was the best decision I made that day!!! Cuz I ran in to Omar and dude was straight up and to the point!!! Mike was an awesome guy, gave me good prices on everything. Where my review is the install. First off the install was set and screwed on the backseat with 1 screw on each amp. 1 fell after just 2 weeks. I normally do my own installs and like the tweak with my own amps and i know what a decent install should look like and this time i decided to take it to a shop. Well first off i took a pair of component speakers, and coaxials and they poked a big hole in my front speaker, went back to see why it was messed up and boom there was a hole like if they punctured it while trying to put the door on. then they tried selling me a new component set and claimed is wasnt there fault and tried selling me new ones full price. Then recently i re-did my entire system because i didnt like the way it sounded or was installed so i took everything apart and wires were everywhere, nothing properly secured and some wires even cut im assuming while they were running them. NOT TO MENTION my rear speakers were beat up. Now would i shop here again? most likely not. Would i pay for them to install? NO! Needed a stereo for my F-150 as the factory unit ceased to function after 10 years. Walked in this morning, originally just to get some pricing and I met Mike. I have installed several care stereos for myself and others in the past, but the disassembly required for this made me want pros to do it.
