The rest of my opinion on the food is based on my experience with the free bread that was nicely served. I love bread, unfortunately, when I spread the fresh butter on that small piece of bread eagerly anticipating the taste....it fell short. Didn't even finish that small piece I tore off. How disappointing. The food is another story. There are too many options in all categories. Had such an amazing meal at 6S. Courtney also really added to the experience with her friendly and prompt service. I like the aesthetic of 6S, kinda feels a little glam but not too much. The bathroom was very clean, always a plus. They have a wonderful martini list, but I went for the pear one and it wasn't too sweet. The things I ate: -Tabbouleh salad, so good, I ate it like a lettuce wrap -street corn, very flavorful w/just enough spice -carrots, good for carrots -fries, delicious crispy fries -hummus, I enjoyed the marinated tomatoes on top -shishitos, maybe a little too much sauce but tasty -popover, not my fave, too eggy I can't remember if there is chicken broth in the whipped potatoes, so double check if you're a vegetarian! As we walked in we noticed there was live music and a nice romantic ambiance, there wasn't too many people in the restaurant but as we sat for a little the place started to fill up. We ordered a variety of food and it was all delicious. We ordered the crab cake, Becky salad, filet mignon and a ribeye with burgundy mushrooms and lobster risotto. I would say the least of my favorite was the risotto.. just seemed like the lobster was a bit chewy and the risotto was a bit over. But overall it was a delicious experience. I have eaten here a few times now, all in which a steak has always been ordered. As chronic steak eater, I am not impressed. During this visit we ordered the Tomahawk Wagyu steak that ran us $145, and there was no distinct difference from other bone-in styled steaks that we have ordered here. Least to say, the Wagyu Tomahawk is extremely underwhelming and not worth the money by any means. For the sides, I am also not impressed and think there is lots of room for improvement. I can say, the bead offered is absolutely fabulous every single visit and I'd be satisfied eating only that. The drinks have always been amazing, no complaints there. The restaurant as a whole is gorgeous with the most elegant touches and the service has always exceeded expectations. It is a shame that the food does not correspond with the rest of these aspects. Unfortunately, we will not be returning but if improvements are made to the steaks we would gladly give it another try! read more

Great way to start my new year off, decided to come here for happy hour while in town. While I was there my coworkers decided to eat here for dinner. The service of course was great, nice vibes. I ordered the $90 Wagyu steak, I think it was good but I was expecting more fat and flavor, honestly I wasn't impressed for the price. But it was a fun experience for a first date. Friendly, quick and very helpful with suggestions I ordered a smoked old fashioned while I reviewed the menu I started with the Hamachi Crudo. Not a usual steak house option but looked good on the menu pic. About the menu- you get an iPad, and it has the menu and allows you to click on the dishes for a closer look and description. Pretty cool. The dish was delicious. Perfect balance of flavors between the fish and spices. Great start! For my entree I chose the 12 oz KC Strip. It was a wonderful piece of meat. Very tender and cooked perfectly. I used to order medium rare, but seemed I got way undercooked meat all the time, so started ordering medium and it was slightly better, sometimes medium rare, sometimes medium and occasionally medium well. This place nailed it. Ordered med rare and got med rare. Great job by the kitchen. Seems weird to have to say that but unfortunately most places don't get it right For my sides, I had the Mashed potato and the Elote street corn. Both were great. Corn was amazing I added 2 Scallops to my steak and they were seared perfectly and very sweet. I was unsure about the wines, so I ordered one and Tanner said it was good but he had a similar one he thought was better. Brought me samples of both, and by golly he was right! I recently tried 6S twice this holiday season and food was delicious both times. The cocktail were very good while sitting in the bar area for happy hour. Wait staff is excellent. I tried the Thanksgiving dinner buffet and was impressed with most of the food and sides. I did think it was a little weird that they didn't have the normal Thanksgiving dinner sides such as yams or cranberries. It was replaced with macaroni and cheese and salads. Probably wont try buffet again as all the pies were cut up into small squares. Not what I had in mind for Thanksgiving. I was introduced to 6S during a client dinner; I am fortunate, too, that it is not too far from my home so I can visit regularly. The atmosphere in the dining area is fantastic with open table seating surrounded by booths. There is seating near the bar as well, but I received better service in the dining room. The wine selection is fantastic and well-varied. The "happy hour" specials allow lower prices on their menu selections - great for trying something new. The cuts of meat is thorough. Whenever I've dined there, people rave about the ribeye, or either cuts of filet. The pork chop is massive and I had to take half of it home. I would give my experience on Wednesday evening July 30, 2025 Ten Stars. My husband and I were celebrating our 49th Wedding Anniversary (July 31) He chose this restaurant, and we traveled there from Oklahoma City. I ordered a Spinach salad with a champagne vinegarette dressing, Lobster tail and Burgandy Mushrooms. He ordered the Becky salad, Ribeye and hand cut Kennebec fries. We were treated with a complimentary slice of 6S Warm Butter Cake. Our meal was prepared in excellent fashion. The House rolls are beyond mouthwatering. Our Waitstaff was gracious (wish I could remember her name because she is GREAT!) The atmosphere is welcoming. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who wishes to enjoy a great meal with excellent staff and a calming atmosphere. My intent is to return with several friends. The menu is so varied, there is something to satisfy any hearty appetite. I thank the staff so much for making my anniversary meal one to remember. Overall: A beautifully decorated steakhouse, with one of the best waiters we've ever had was a cherry on top of some delicious food and sides. Entrees: Prime Rib (16 oz - $52) - Cooked a perfect medium rare, this prime rib was nearly perfect, as it was flavorful and juicy. The only SLIGHT drawback was the lack of a robust crust that would have put this over the line of perfection. Wagyu Sirloin (8 oz - $50) - This sirloin cut with the tenderness of a filet, and had a delicious spice rub that made it explode with flavor. Not impressed! Thought we would try a new place (been here before a couple years ago for dinner) for Easter brunch. From entering the building to leaving, definitely not impressed. I ask for a different one to be told bluntly that they are busy (I made reservations a week ago)and no. I asked about a couple other tables. Nope. Basically too bad. Wow!!! Never been told this. She could have cared less. Restaurant dark and dreary and zero ambience. Servers seemed dead. Food was subpar, cold, hard, all extremely rare prime beef. Like I said, village in would have been better! Then the girl asks if we want our check. Yes, please. Brings it to us and says by the way a 20% gratuity be included today. I said ok but then I was like ugh, ridiculous bc this meal for 4 was in absolutely no way worth $219.00 for 4 of us. Never returning to this place. Should have gone to our usual Newport Grill! My boyfriend and I went for their $29 AYCE Oyster Tuesday and everything we had was really good! We started off with the Painkiller which was their chai infused rum cocktail, and it was sooo good! It was so unique and tropical tasting, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys chai! We had the crispy calamari for an appetizer and it was pretty good. The calamari was fresh and the breading is hand done in the back. The sauce was okay and a little bland for my personal taste. Overall, it still hit the spot as we were craving something warm and fried. Then we had the oysters. My boyfriend and I each ate 3 dozen LOL. They all came with lemon and mini Tabasco sauces which were so cute!! $29 for all you can eat was definitely worth it! The oysters were fresh, smooth, and weren't overwhelmingly briny. They were all very plump, soft, and delicious!! We ended our dinner with the bananas foster baked Alaska! I personally love banana, so this was delicious for me! The ice cream paired with the cake and meringue was so decadent and such a treat! Baked Alaskas are always fun to watch as they get lit up too! The workers were all very helpful and wonderful as well. We never had to wait for our waiter as she was always stopping by to check up on us. The manager even stopped by to say hi which was nice. Title: Disappointing There was a lot to like about our dinner at 6S. But ultimately it was disappointing. The good: * The décor was attractive and appropriate for fine dining. * A guitarist played softly in the background and set a nice mood. * It was quiet and you could easily have a conversation. Quiet can be hard to find. * The evening started with popovers. This was a nice touch - I can't remember the last time I ate at a restaurant that offered popovers. The disappointing * Our main courses were brought to the table when we were only half-way through our appetizers. This faux pas made us choose between continuing to finish our appetizers and letting our main course get cold or to plunge into the main course and only eat half the appetizers. I can honestly say this was the first time this had ever happened to me in a fine dining restaurant. I would have asked them to take the main course back to the kitchen until we were ready for them but did not want to embarrass my guests. Plus, that would have meant that our food sat in the kitchen and got cold while we finished our appetizers. * A major issue (especially in a restaurant that specializes in steak) was that the meat had very little flavor. I ordered their special KC strip which they state is aged in-house for 28 days. For a $60 steak, I expected a superlative piece of meat. What I got was an oversalted rather tasteless steak. My wife's cousin cooked us steak a couple of nights later that was far superior. And it didn't cost anywhere near $60. Conclusion While 6S did a number of things right, the service and the lack of flavor in a very expensive steak keep me from making a positive recommendation. We ate on a Friday night and were surprised that there were few other diners on this typically busy restaurant night. Perhaps others had reached the same conclusion I did. read more

We celebrated a 60th birthday here last night with girlfriends. The staff set us up in a private VIP booth with a curtain - which allowed for nice conversation and good belly laughs. Our server, Jake, was over the top - the best server EVER! He took care of every need including helping me decorate the table - having drinks on the table before guests arrived, serving our cake and taking pictures. We had a wonderful fine-dining experience. We had a great, friendly and professional waiter Cameron. We ate Wagyu beef (our first time eating wagyu beef) and bacon for our appetizers. We had the salmon and KC strip steak for our main courses. Everything tasted great! Also, who knew bacon could be a fancy app. We also ordered various drinks: Birds of a Fever, a Manhattan and Old Fashioned. They were all enjoyable and I really liked the refreshing Birds of a Fever. While visiting Wichita found this spot on OpenTable. Sat at the bar, excellent service, wonderful attentive bar staff. Started with a 1/2 Wedge, awesome. Had the 12oz Prime Rib with roasted Brussel sprouts. Probably one of the best prime rib meals I have ever had....meat quality, taste, seasoning and au jus was to die for.
