For a place that does steaks, I would not go here for an overpriced steak. I got their $40 steak to just treat myself with friends. What I got was would be a clearance steak you would find at Dillon's that was the worst cut imagined. Extremely fatty cut under an inch thickness. If you want a burger this place does that well. AVI in Wichita has a really classy atmosphere and feels like a great spot for a nicer night out. I originally ordered a smaller ribeye but there was a miscommunication and I ended up with the biggest steak on the menu, a 22 oz bone in ribeye. It turned out to be a happy accident because the steak was excellent. I also had the grilled shrimp and asparagus which were both cooked well and paired nicely with the meal. The bartender made things right at the end regarding the mix up, which I appreciated. Overall great service, great food, and a polished vibe that makes it worth visiting. read more

Downtime so pretty empty. I made a reservation but didn't need it so just sat at the bar on the second floor. The bartender was also the waitress for the whole level so had a lot to deal with but she was very friendly and helpful. She had a great attitude especially considering some of the other patrons there at the time. The drinks were good and strong. The grilled Caesar salad was unique and had a different flavor but was yummy. I got the steak medium rare but might have been more one the rare side. Worst steak experience in Wichita. I ordered the AVI Center-Cut Prime Tenderloin Filet and it arrived very badly cooked. The outside was extremely tough and the center was still purple (I ordered medium, not medium rare). The seasoning was off and it tasted like the burger grease from a cheap burger. This was a $38 steak and that's completely unacceptable. I added the "sautéed" onions and mushrooms (an additional $6) and most of the onions were still raw. Mushrooms were ok but Texas Roadhouse even has better mushrooms than this place. Service was extremely inadequate and we were not attended to like to would expect at a restaurant with this price point. Drinks were slowly refilled but empties were not removed. The server delivered our food and disappeared again, so it took a long while to flag someone down to tell them the steak was wrong. She offered to "Throw it on the grill a bit longer" but at that point I didn't want it. There was no offer to bring something else or bring back a menu, the server just walked away. No manager came to check either. Then I was charged for the onions and mushrooms and had to complain about the raw mushrooms on my plate and the server did return with them removed from the plate. The "creamed potatoes" were dry and not at all creamy, needed seasoning as well. I would not return to this establishment. I don't understand the positive reviews. The inside looks trendy but it's noisy and it was very cold in the building in the middle of January. read more

I had the salmon BLT sandwich. One of the best sandwiches I ever had. It was so huge I was full the whole day. I'm shocked that this restaurant isn't packed. The price for the delicious food is definitely shocking. My son had the chicken sandwich and side of Brussels sprouts and he said it was the best. Our friend had the roasted chicken he loved it as well. We are definitely going back probably every day we are here. read more

The grilled Cesar salad motivated at least four of us to learn how to grill romaine at home, it was so good! My husband and I went here for the first time while we were out-of-town. We very much enjoyed our waiter and would give him a solid five 5, he had great customer service. My husband ordered the bone-in pork ribeye, and cream potatoes and absolutely loved them. I'm not much of a pork eater, but I actually tasted one of his pork steaks and it was good. He said the pork was perfectly cooked, flavorsome, and moist. I ordered the red fish over quinoa and was very disappointed. This is not their fault, but apparently I am not a quinoa connoisseur and no matter what they did, I wouldn't have liked it. However, I am a seafood connoisseur, and found the fish to be a three 3 at best. I didn't even finish it because it tasted overcooked to me and kind of tough when I was trying to get bites of it with my fork. I did have a dinner salad and would give that a 5+ and their homemade ranch dressing was delectable, I would also give that a five 5. We got the bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer, and our favorite part was the way they had the bacon cooked around it, I think it was a maple glazed bacon. We weren't crazy about the scallops themselves. We also ordered crabcakes and neither one of us really liked those either. I did think that they tasted better with some of the glaze that was on there, but we've had some good ones before and they just weren't what we were hoping for. We were there for lunchtime birthday celebration. The room had an upscale feel and was quiet, but not full for a late lunch. Kaylen was the waiter and she promptly greeted us and asked for any additional drinks. She also had a large party in a separate room, but refilled drinks and checked in often. The appetizer ordered was the lobster artichoke dip that arrived at the table quickly and was quite good. The grilled chicken sandwich I ordered was piping hot served on a brioche bun and the chicken was will seasoned and chilled perfectly. Parking in the Drury garage across the street was easy and was free with validated ticket. read more

My steak was a 10/10. Wasn't super fond of the charcuterie board for the price. It was $20. We also asked for them to not bring the mustard sauce that comes with it and the jelly they had had mustard in it. My husband is severely allergic and ended up taking a bite. The night almost went totally south. Personally I feel like the server should have asked more questions or been a little more familiar with the menu after we had mentioned for them to not bring the mustard sauce. Anyway-- place was great, just had a massive scare. Great for a date night and the price wasn't bad at all. We will for sure be going back. read more

Celebrating our daughters birthday and we had never been here before. For a hotel restaurant, it was really good! We were pleasantly surprised. The side salad was huge with fresh spring greens, the steaks were very flavorful and cooked just right. I didn't try the pasta primavera, but my daughter really liked it. All three deserts, Crème brûlée, the chocolate cake and the carrot cake were very good. We will definitely be back when we come back to Wichita. read more

I had an 8-ounce center-cut sirloin with sautéed mushrooms on top and seasoned fries for my entrée, the steak was cooked to the right degree and had a nice seasoning.
