The store is OK, but I would really love to know why there is always a disgusting puddle of water coming from the store and onto the gutter on the other side of the sidewalk. I don't bother to check-in much here, but it does deserve a shoutout. It's next to my manicurist, Masako, at Anton Salon. The small parking lot always seems to have a few spaces open, so it is convenient. A small clean store and most of the time a courteous staff. There seems to be pretty fresh hot foods on the rollers. The donuts look decent too. Must be a good turn over of stuff. $1 self-serve Big Gulps. Never mind the older guy hanging out in front. He doesn't ask for money and seems harmless. Ownership changed and all of the prices have skyrocketed. It's a 30-40% price increase throughout the whole store. The new owners try to be as nice as the old owners until you question their prices - and then it's just a death stare. I will happily find another place to do business. I really miss the old owners. They knew a lot of their customers and always seemed really genuine. And they never raised their prices. Makes me wonder if that's why they sold the place. read more

You can't count on anything these days except for Coupe DeVilles and 7-11s. Yes, on New Year's day I found this 7-11 to be open for all my urgent life and death necessities such as coffee. Lots of places are closed on the first of January. Just earlier I had barely missed the window of operating hours at a nearby Starbucks with special holiday hours. Nothing like starting out the new year on the right foot. As I pull up I notice lots of parking and a bright, clean store void of any rif raf. Inside a pleasant guy quick to ring me up. I noticed some holiday cookies at deep, deep discounts on the counter. I get in a bad mood if I don't have everything I need for decent cup of coffee - so I like that I can count on 7-11 for that. read more

Convenient walk for those of us who live near Bowditch/Parker area. We only come here for slurpees, and always for Free Slurpee Day. The Citibank ATM machine saved my butt one day, though, when I desperately needed cash. This is the only 7-Eleven location where I encountered a Citibank ATM machine. Strange. read more

Yes it has all the wonders of slurpees, taquitos, free chili and all that, and yes it is a bit overpriced. But hey, you pay for convenience and for college students an extra block down to CVS can be insurmountable at times (1 block extra is 2 round trip!) That said they have a weekly sale on chips or candy like 2 bags of sour patch for $2 or 2 big bags of Doritos or Lays for $5. Oh for anyone wondering about that outspoken contingent in favor of Blue Amp, its goodness matches our crazy and 7-11 should be commended for carrying such a rare and delicious product. Joe's Tea as well. Peach tea or the raspberry tea, the latter which they unfortunately don't seem to have anymore, are addicting. Last thing is they have an Amazon locker in the bag which = free fast shipping and no packages stolen off your door step. I've been shopping at this place for years. It's always been fine, but today a woman who appeared homeless came in not wearing a mask. This detail is only important because the homeless population is it much higher risk for Covid. She was handling different food items, and when I pointed it out to the staff they did absolutely nothing. She was brushing against people moving around the store, and one cough out of her could've gotten any of us sick. When I spoke to the clerk, he just shrugged and said he didn't want to have a fight. This branch is great! The employees are such sweet hearts, it's amazing. They understand my iced French vanilla craving and they go out of their way to make sure I get my fix - so that means machine working, cups filled, and smiles all around. I grew up next to a 7-Eleven and it's always great to have employees that are nice, thorough and are all-out kind. I also buy my bi-monthly milk & eggs and they're deals are great! I also like how they are always surprised I never use a plastic bag and say, "Oh, you good boy!" every single time! 4 stars because the lay out of the store can be fixed and they need some cheaper asian product vendors :P Also, frequent customer discount? I love my sev-lev in my hometown. This one, not so much. I have been here twice to get a slurpee and both times the slurpee machine did not have a good consistency. Way too watery! BLEHEHHRG Also I had a taquito there once and it was one of the grossest things I have ever had.My boyfriend would like to interject here to add, "it was not that gross". It was jalapeno cream cheese flavor. Note the key word flavor...not sure what it was actually made of. It was tough and luke warm and gross. Even for convenience store food. There are also always hobos and creepy drunk men in front of the store hanging around the bus stop. One time one peed in a trashcan in front of me. It was disgusting. I have one more package coming but once I pick it up (unless I can change the deliver option) I will NEVER come to this store again. It's really uncomfortable to be picking up a package and have someone essentially following you to the amazon locker (attempting to be inconspicuous) and questioning why you're checking the contents of your package (I was making sure everything was there). The elder woman who I presume owns/runs the place is always yelling about something, and is extremely unprofessional. In addition to this the employees at the register aren't very pleasant to deal with, always ringing me up with an annoyed attitude for no reason. On one occasion I had been at the register waiting to pay and the only employee working there was doing something outside for over ten minutes, never told me he'd come or how long he would take and never apologized for making me wait. hell yeah 711 is the best. sometimes i dont cook and i dont have food at home so i come here to 711. at 711 i can buy whatever i want and i can eat it. i can buy beer too because i am old enough. my favorite thing to buy here is the hot funyun rings. i also buy milk here too. the milk here is cheaper than in walgreens or safeway. sometimes when you are paying and you need some money they are so nice they give you a few pennies whenever you need them. read more

It's a 7 eleven, it's convenient, open late. oh wait. Their cashiers are pretty grumpy looking most the times but its a 7/11. Also, on more than a few occasion they shorted me change(like between 55 cents and 5 dollars something), and made it the longest hassle to get the rest of my monies. And as some patrons said, some of their "deals", they dont give to you. and if you ask them about it, they'll give some bullshit response. It's gotten so ridiculous(their deals and lack of giving them as they should), i've been frequenting a liquor store a block away that's on average 5-10% more expensive. worth it. read more

I have been to this 7Eleven location many times since my freshman year in college. My freshman year, my friends and I would walk here every Friday to get slurpees. To this day, I get the same Cherry/Coke flavor combination. Unfortunately, the Cherry flavor is basically foam here so it's a waste to put too much in your cup. Aside from my cherry flavor foam complaint there is the issue of customer service. I was once charged full price for a slurpee refill and was told by the male cashier that refill prices went up (to the price of a nonrefill!) which was a complete lie. On another occassion I witnessed the female owner chase a customer throughout the store screaming at him (no exaggeration here) because he left the condiment bar a little messy. By "a little messy" I mean that there was literally just a spoon and napkin at the condiment bar justifying this screaming. This woman was on a rampage and told this male customer that he may never return to this 7Eleven location because he left a "mess." This poor guy just wanted a hotdog. Well, as a result of the poor customer service and the screaming incident I witnessed, I will not return here. I will be walking the to 7Eleven on College avenue from now on. read more

This is by far my favorite 7-Eleven location in Berkeley, its a little bit smaller than some, but it definitely has its perks. This location has its own private parking lot with plenty of easily accessible spaces, which makes it easy to run in for a single item or to drop off a movie rental. Also, I love that they have a large Amazon locker, more times than not; I've had deliveries go missing at home, but this service always keeps my mind at ease, no more worries. read more

However, this time I went back to the store to complain. I checked the rest of the stock of the same ice cream I bought and lo and behold they were ALL expired. I couldnt believe it. I got stomach issues the previous time i purchased it but didnt think much of it because I didnt connect it back to the ice cream. So, I just want to thank this place for saving my life on one of Berkeley's hottest days ever. I went to go visit my girlfriend at work and I swear out of nowhere I just had heat stroke. I ran down 7-Eleven and got the largest bottle of Fiji water I can find. So I didn't have to look like a complete loser on a mission in finding some water my girlfriend got one of those strawberry shortcake ice cream thingys. The cashier thought it was pretty funny and told my girlfriend she can have the ice cream for FREE!! That's right FREE!! I love this 7-Eleven! read more

One of the worst ever. I've only ever been here bc I was desperate for milk, and I didn't want to drive all the way to Oakland just for some milk. Or in the past when I didn't have a car. They always make the milk more expensive and never update the milk prices that are posted correctly. Last time I went, ALL the signs clearly say "2 for $6.59". I think, that's an ok price. Expensive, but ok. I go to the counter to pay for it. $7.38. I ask them, the sign says it's $6.59, why the is it $7.38? The excuse is that they change prices every Monday. Ok, that's a really lame excuse. If you change the prices, change the signs as well? Seems like something simple to do. I really wanted the milk, so I just paid for it, but like I said, I never come here unless I'm desperate, and after so many years, it's sad to see that this place is the same. I guess one redeeming factor is that they have an Amazon Locker, which brings some traffic, I guess. read more
