James and April turned a really bad store experience into one of the best experiences in just 10 minutes. I really hope Sprouts appreciates and rewards people like them. I vote for a big EOY bonus for both of them! I called this market ahead of time to confirm they carried Everyday Dose collagen (new and amazing product w/ L-Theanine, Lion's mane, Chaga and Cordyceps). I was told they do. An hour long commute later, a kind lady with fiery red hair named April showed me three locations where Collagen could be. They did not have it. I was disappointed and exhausted - long trip for nothing. James, the store manager, offered a free collagen sample from another brand and apologized for the misinformation shared during my phone call. Just as I was checking out, April showed up out of nowhere carrying coffee beans from the same brand infused with collagen I was looking for. A NEW PRODUCT TO TRY WITH COLLAGEN I WAS LOOKING FOR. It's a Sprouts and it's a decent one. Prices aren't cheap, I spied some items more expensive than Whole Foods, but they run a ton of "deals" so if you buy something on sale, it's more reasonable. I did spy that some of the organic veggies were some better prices than I've seen elsewhere. The cheese selection is dismal if looking to make a fancy cheese plate, so I'd focus more on the pantry staples. Overall, a solid spot with plenty of parking. My son plays baseball in the area, so a quick and convenient stop, but I'm also happy this isn't my local grocer. read more

They have the worst customer service. I went in there over a month ago and the cashier was so rude to me. All I asked her was are you having a good day? She did not answer until I was leaving, and she said in a very sarcastic voice " well you have a good day". It was definitely derogatory. I went in there today and waited to find a open cashier and all they had was self serve. So I asked the lady at self service for a regular cashier and she told me quite rudely that I could use a self serve. I said I did not want to and asked for a cashier once again. I have never been a fan of Sprouts in general primarily due to huge price markups on most everything, esp now. Years ago, it was a nice store even with markups..at least they had decent sales and friendly staff. Prepared dishes, bakery items, bread, etc., are good but have been unaffordable even before inflation.,.same for dairy, poultry. Avocados have been 3 for $9 for about a year. Now I don't even buy the Sprouts brand anymore because it's too pricey. Most of the stores now, esp in East Bay have very poor service..there are rarely any assistants on the floor anymore and they are usually low on cashiers. This store is good for the health food, but the people here have been screwing with me on purpose, the staff actually has been making defamatory claims about me in front of customers even though I have absolutely no relation to any of them and stay as frank and courteous as possible. Lately, they haven't been stocking the items that I like to buy here regularly and this morning all of the check stands were closed and there was no one helping.... Until they saw me taking pictures and then they somehow immediately fixed the problem with the self checkout stands. I probably wouldn't have written a review about this, but on the way out one of them standing behind me said that I was a "perp" which is absolutely outrageous. And of course there was someone else there. They do this every time I go in the store, so I felt the need to draw attention to it. read more

The store is OK, but the parking lot is impossible. Even when the store is mostly empty, as are the others in that shopping center, the parking lot is crammed. There is a senior housing complex and a university housing complex adjoining this shopping center, and it's clear that the lot is full of those people parking there. It can be near impossible to find a place to park. They need to figure out how to weed out the regular non-customer parkers or all those businesses are going to go under. read more

I came here to shop for a party over the weekend, so I had to shop for a lot of people. My basket was full as I went through all the aisles trying to get what I needed for the party. I forgot something in a previous aisle and on my way to get it, the manager stopped me and began questioning me about my basket, saying I have a lot of stuff in there. Basically accusing me of stealing. I had every intention of purchasing what was in my basket but after that experience, I put everything back on the shelf and walked out. It has been awhile since I been to Sprouts in Albany. Some odd reason I decided to get a sandwich from this location and I did not regret getting it. For $4.99 it is not a bad deal. The sandwich at Safeway and Lucky are $6.99/$7.99. The size of my sandwich was a good proportion for one person. I was greeted when I was preparing on what sandwich to get. They were able to tell me when to put my form when I order my sandwich. My sandwich was made within 5 minutes. The inside of Sprouts in good. They know how to keep the store maintain and clean. I did not see any damages inside the store. No broken floor or display when i walk around. Sprouts is no Trader Joe's or Whole Foods Market. I will say that the store does not serve donuts but they do have muffins. A five star rating for Srpouts! read more

Was in the area and went to the deli to purchase some cold cuts and didn't have the most pleasant experience. I asked for Salami and the man behind the counter pulls out a large salami. I asked him do you have the hard salami and he laughs and says you have to go to Safeway if you want that kind (WTH) who says that. I then ask him can you give me sample of the one you have and he continues to laugh and tells me no. I have never been to a deli where they refuse to give you a sample. Went to deli counter to get some chicken. Was waiting for about 3 minutes . People working behind the counter ignoring me. I finally asked a lady preparing meats if someone could help me. She replied "I don't work the counter", she pointed to a guy who was conversing with someone . Waited for him while he was laughing and talking. Finally I asked again if someone would help me and the two of the people preparing the meat, chimed in that they don't work at the counter, it's not their job. If these people were professional or courteous, they may have replied "I will get someone to help you momentarily". I was finally assisted after all the laughter and conversation was done. It's funny that painted above the deli is the phase "Friendly service". The complete unprofessional and rude behavior of the people at the deli weren't enough. I asked to speak to a manager at the cashier, the cashier was friendly and courteous, he paged and she never showed up. This is a GREAT store (if you must shop a chain :-) Staff are amazing which speaks well for management. They consistently have my favorite organic produce (forgive me for not specifying what so you can choose what you like). Lots of variety in plant based foods (for anyone concerned about global warming plus having the health benefits of plant based). Easy parking, easy checkout (though I like seeing staff employed so I don't do self-check out). Especially love the regular guy in produce. Because they buy in quantity they can afford to pass on lower prices plus availability for some organic produce other smaller markets can't stock. read more

The deli is especially good. I like their chicken salad. They have two kinds that are white meat and dark meat. They also have tuna salad, which is very different than the tuna salad you make it home. It provides some interest to your palate. Their fresh made sandwiches are very good. They're only six dollars and you can get it with a meal to go with a bottled water and chips. They large sandwiches that make for two servings. So that's a very reasonable deal. Sprouts has some advantages over other grocery stores. Fresh meat cut semi-daily by a butcher. Good dry goods section sold by the pound. But I mainly come here because the vitamin selection is huge. So many vitamins, lotions, and potions. Its always fun to pick out and try some new supplement. The staff here is relatively good in terms of customer service. Better than the Sprouts in Oakland for sure. Parking is ample. They have their own lot. And the prices are actually reasonable in comparison to other stores like Whole Foods. Yes, all grocery prices have sky rocketed, but Sprouts slightly less than others. read more

I come to this sprouts often because I like their fruit sales. That being said, I have a pretty good understanding of what this store does good and what it does bad. Let's start with the good. The store is pretty clean inside. They have nice variety of items and I appreciate their pre-made food section. This time I decided to get the 5.99 sandwich deal from the deli. The sandwich was pretty good but they put like 2 slices of avocado on it. Onto the bad. I feel like everytime I come here looking for something specific they are out of stock. That gets pretty annoying but hey supply issues and whatnot are a thing so I try not to get too frustrated. The lines here are ridiculously long. They recently opened self check out and it seems like they used it as an excuse to not open any lanes where someone else scans your items for you. The self check out machines are incredibly annoying and you can't even bag items efficiently without the machine calling over a store employee. I am not a fan of this new system. They are being cheap and cutting costs by making customers bag their own items. read more

The staff is friendly, but there's always way too few checkers. The grocery section is weird. Like, eight different gluten-free options for flour, but you often can't find basic all-purpose. Organic, low-fat cashew nut butter spread... ok, but where's the peanut butter? And btw, the house brand is consistently meh. (BTW, don't *ever* get seduced into buying those prominently displayed, green, apparently glorious houseplants. They represent the work of low-paid plant morticians. TLDR: wonderful gluten free selection, great parking, but unfortunate long check out lines. As a gluten free person, I always appreciate a super market with a gluten free selection. Little did I know Sprouts would carry gluten free potstickers (meat/ vegetarian). The day I found that out was the best day ever. There were other gluten free products (eclairs, anyone), but the potstickers will always be my favorite. And the parking lot is nice and big. I have always been able to find a spot there. However, the check out lines are bizarre. For some reason only two checkout counters are open in all my visits to the store, making the wait time long. This is a bright clean local store and it has a great produce department as well as other departments to serve your health needs as well as food needs and other things that they carry here. I called around a few places looking for fresh figs and could only find them here. The ones I saw here we're just passable as the season's long over.
