a cash register in a grocery store

As most 7-11's are basically the same there isn't much to "review" about this store. I will say that it is clean and has everything you would expect at a 7-11. I have always found the staff to be friendly and it does have a Redbox outside. For a night time visit the parking lot is decent sized and well lit. In the early morning it is very very busy so stay away if you are in a hurry. Every morning between 7:30am-8am a local moving company seems to take over both the inside and the parking lot. Trying to get coffee is near impossible. Because of its location it can be a little difficult and scary when you are trying to pull out on Amphlett.

As seen on tv products @7-eleven!! Cool!!!

What a strange, strange Safeway…read more The highlight of the place is that the first level of the building is the parking level. The only part of the "store" on this level is the staircase and elevator. Otherwise, I think the store takes up the entirety of the second floor. The elevator has a huge car that can fit many people and shopping carts, but it took a long time, both to be called and to move, when I was coming and going. It was only when I left that I noticed that there are actually two entrances: the one I used near the middle of the parking lot and the one farther north. When you come up from the central stairs/elevator, it's as if you're inside any other Bay Area Safeway. Besides customer service being right next to this entrance, nothing else would alert you that you've floating over all this parking. Like almost every other Bay Area Safeway, the layout is both familiar and slightly different. You'll generally find the bakery and produce sections on opposite sides, but beyond that, everything is just so. In this store's case, all the cheese is in a regular refrigerated aisle; in most stores, it's along the back wall. It's one of the few Safeway stores that hasn't added local street names to its aisles. That was cute at first, but now that seemingly every Safeway (and at least one Vons in SoCal) has that--and some of the names are misspelled or have the wrong street type--I'm over it. Aisle 3 can just be aisle 3. It doesn't have to double as El Camino Real. I was shocked at how few people were in the store on a Saturday night. Because of this, I barely had to wait in line for checkout, and I was downstairs at my car pretty quick. The checker did a pretty poor job of bagging, but it wasn't atrocious, just wrong. I happened to be returning some canned goods here when I came. When I got to customer service, a woman was arguing her point about some discount she received in addition to WIC or some other need-based debit card. Two different customer-service people were standing there listening to her argument, and even after they had each explained to her three times the different options for resolving her issue, she continued to argue. That's fine, more power to her, but I don't understand why one of the customer-service people couldn't start providing me with customer service. When I finally did speak to the younger person, she didn't know whether they would accept my return, and she had to wait for the other person to confirm that they wouldn't accept my return. For some reason, Safeway doesn't accept returns after thirty days, even with a receipt. These were canned goods that didn't expire until 2028, but a policy is a policy, I guess. I ended up leaving the cans there, because I didn't want them. When I left the store about a half-hour later, the cans were still sitting on the customer-service counter, untouched.

Last visit I ordered chicken breast and got chicken breast with rib meat which has happened a few times and I finally spoke up since that is not what I'm purchasing. But today was by far the worst experience from customer service there personally and over the phone. I placed an order for 85$ at 130pm. ETA was 3-4pm at 256 I got the alert it was ready. I showed up and they said the new girl messed up and needed and extra 20 mins. An hour later and we're like where are our groceries. Another girl said let me go get it only to comeback and say the "new girl" gave it away. Now I have been on the phone for over an hour trying to get them to fix my order again. And all they want to tell me is I will get a refund and to wait 7-10 business days. How does that make sense? Why do I need to wait for my money when all I wanted was my groceries. Guy on the phone said it's beyond his control whether my kids have something to eat dinner with or not. He said Safeway Millbrae isn't answering and he is not representing them. Wild! So wild! I guess for a service that's supposed to be convenient they are not. Just get out and get your own groceries and avoid dumb people giving away your food. I legit wasted 4 hours waiting to get an order than no one wanted to take responsibility for messing up.

We were waiting in line to redeem our scratchers (during our break) and so we were assisted by a short brown man named MACCOY. He on one of the side of his nose is a black mole. I remember his description because of how rude he is. He was assisting us with our winnings and purchases I had kind asked him if he could help us purchase more tickets. He gave me an attitude and said go to the next register. And so I did. Then I was waiting for my co worker to get his drink. I called over to my co worker (he was at the slushie machine) and I said Dan what's are you? Hurry up we're paying already! Then I can hear MACCOY yelling out loud multiple times "SASSY!, SASSY!, SASSY!" Which was very rude and uncalled for. Very unprofessional. It made me feel embarrassed because there were younger ladies (teens) next to me on the other register with Cashier names Sandy And they were looking at me. Like if I was being rude and "sassy" which I wasn't. This was very unacceptable and I will make sure this is brought up to the attention of corporate of 711. Also, how come MACCOY is not wearing a name tag but sandy was?? Aren't all employees suppose to wear name tags? Btw, sandy was very pleasant and sweet. Kind and helpful. We appreciate her most!

Every other Walgreens that I visit locally are often out of essential toiletries, health & beauty products, and household necessities such as cleaning products, toilet paper, and batteries, but this one has it all. It also has a lot of employees covering the floor, which is helpful to find products or retrieve the locked-up high-theft items such as toothpaste and hair care. They have a very active & centrally located photo counter, which doubles as a customer service counter right by the front entrance facing the El Camino Real. The employees that work at this particular store are plentiful, polite, professional, and helpful (when you ask for help). The store is clean, bright, spacious, and easy to navigate, every section is clearly marked, well-stocked, and organized like a pharmacy should be. Checking out is a different story. The only cashier's/cash register are at the rear of the store facing the parking lot. There is usually only one cashier, despite it getting pretty busy here. I'm not sure why they planned the store with only 1-2 registers that are away from all the action (main entrance, pharmacy, customer service/photo desk), but it's fairly awkward to have to walk all the way to the back of the store to pay, then walk back to the front of the store to exit, it's alot of walking around back & forth, lol. I guess that's one way to get your exercise in, as well as to tempt the customer to make impulse & spontaneous purchases, or so I think. Anyways, the checking out process is perhaps the worst part of this store & its layout. The cashier's never seem well-trained, motivated, or as helpful as the rest of the employees in this store. Maybe it's a hierarchy, seniority, experience thing? I think the overall shopping experience would be better improved with more trained, energetic, and knowledgeable cashiers, that is you last point of contact in this store and it leaves the final impression as you exit this store. The lines get long and sloooow! As to the pharmacy, the line moves along. It is well-staffed, and the support staff is friendly and professional. The lines tend to swell during peak hours (morning, lunchtime, after work) but it moves fairly quickly as there are alot of people working it to move the customers along. The pharmacists are approachable and open to offer help as well as information about your prescriptions. The pharmacy at this branch is very good and I don't mind coming here at all after stopping at the local hospitals & medical clinics found along El Camino Real and San Mateo Drive. Parking is easy in the back with a big, metered parking lot (but you have to pay and it's not cheap). Street parking at the front of the store is a bit more difficult and sparse. Overall, it's a good experience here, I just wish the cashier/checkout/exit line was a bit more efficient and expedient!
