    50 cents short

M Ivan is Rude, made me feel not welcome and gave me change wrong. Left the store, checked out the recipe and change, it was 50 cents less. Did not want to go back and see his unfriendly face, please teach him that Trader Joe is not his shop and has no right to be rude to clients. I felt like I did something wrong to him, but I did not. Get ride of him please, he is unhappy working seems/looks like.

To the Cashier who coughed all over my groceries while checking me out yesterday, thanks for getting me sick! Don't come to work if you're going to infect customers!

Shopping in San Carlos, California... My friend knows that we don't have Trader Joe's in Hawaii, so, she brought me here... uhg! Now I have to buy gifts for my family! Haha! Well, I should at least get something for my clerk... LOL! I went up and down the aisles, refusing to get a wagon so I can limit myself! I eventually had to get a basket because everything was falling out of my arms! Shucks! I got my nieces their favorite Butter Waffle cookies and I got my clerk those chocolate covered pretzels that are filled with peanut butter... uh huh! Later, I found out that my clerk prefers the Chocolate filled Batons (which have a cylindrical, sturdy container that can survive the check through luggage process)! Next time! Gosh... I need to hand carry these snacks so they don't crack in my suitcase! Aiyah!

Pre-packed broccoli was not fresh! Expiry is in 3 days and we just bought 2 days ago

Love the variety and the prices. They have things you can't find at the supermarket. The quality is great too.

This review is strictly for the deli and Starbucks…read more I go here often for lunch because I'm down the road. Usually get a sandwich, sushi or something from the deli like chicken wings or mash potato's etc. Have fun here. There could be 7 employees working the deli and only 2 are doing anything. They will see a line of like 8 people waiting to get a sandwich and they will only have 1 person helping. Meanwhile 2 or 3 other people just laughing and chatting in the back or up front at the soup station talking to the rest of the stores employees. Time when they put out food is inconsistent. You can go at 9am and they will have all their food out. Chicken, ribs, corn dogs, Mac n cheese, etc. You can also go at 11am and they will only have pizza sticks and some fried chicken? So there are times I go for lunch and there's nothing. When do they actually make the food? Because it's never been the same times or the same amount of food out ready to be sold. I go there and it's either full of every selection or just corn dogs at 1130 am. It's very irritating. Now for the Starbucks side. There's a real one across the street but it's convenient to use the one within Safeway while I'm on lunch. I go multiple times a day to this Safeway. Either to get lunch and or coffee or items I need from home. There's only ever 1 or 2 employees at Starbucks. If there's 1 person working they're working so slow while also stopping to talk to customers or the Safeway employees. Even if there's multiple people waiting. If there's 2 employees then 1 is working and the other is just pretending to fix the mug display in front of it for what seems forever. Your 1 coffee if you're the only customer and 1 person is working will probably take like 7 minutes to get to you.

We sat outside an enjoyed a Turkish delight, kataifi, and chocolate baklava with tea (we paid for a small and he gave us a large since he saw we were sharing)! I've been here a couple times in the last several months, and I've seen mostly the same breweries and labels (maybe 10% change?). But my biggest issue with Holly Market is the cost - Their prices are the highest I've ever seen in the Bay Area. Four-packs of micro-brew pint cans run about $2 more than they are anywhere else, including Whole Foods. And if you grab a 4-pack of a double or triple IPA, you'll be paying at least $4 more than other places. I asked about this the last time I was here, and the guy said, "Higher alcohol beers are more expensive," which in general is true; but not THIS much more expensive. It seems to me they are using that as an excuse to double their already-high markup. I've actually cancelled more than one purchase here when I saw the actual charge pop-up on the register. (Note: They don't post prices for most beers). I was going to give Holly Market 3 stars, but based on the unusually-high Yelp rating...and abnormal number of 5-star reviews from newbies (We know what that means!) I'll do my part to move the needle in the direction of the real world. Interestingly, the very act of writing this review has made me realize one thing: I'm done with this place.

A good store takes care of their people & doesn't have the turnaround like other places. Overall, from their deli counter, bakery area, incredible meat & poultry dept to their fresh produce, this market has it all for sure!! Do yourself a favor & try them out. To celebrate a birthday i arrived at Lunardi's hoping the bakery had a Princess cake for us. We were greeted by the friendly staff and assured they had the cake in 2 colors, pinkish and greenish. We wanted to personalize it with a birthday greeting which the quickly did as we waited. On Google, a princess cake is a Swedish domed confection of layered sponge cake with raspberry jam, a custard layer covered in a smooth green marzipan dome. Precisely what we got. It was delicious. Not overly sweet, great texture and flavors. It's going to be one of my favorites from now on. Highly recommend you try one. It's a small cake maybe 6 inches square but packed with flavor.
