Hadn't been to Peet's in a LONG time & forgot how good their coffee is. So good! Need to come here more often.

I visited this location around 6:00 AM on 4/15 and had a disappointing experience with a male employee working at the time. After waiting about 16 minutes for a slider I had already paid for, I asked about it and was told it was "by the barista," but no one had informed me it was ready. When I finally received it, the slider was no longer warm. I requested a fresh one, and while he agreed, his behavior became unprofessional--slamming items behind the counter and muttering under his breath. This kind of attitude reflects poorly on the brand. Employees represent the company, and I expect a basic level of communication and professionalism, especially in a customer-facing role. This employee needs more customer service training. read more

This is my local Peet's I've been to plenty of times. I love their new Dubai Chocolate Matcha! It just makes my day, something about their chocolate just so divine. I was here one morning thinking I can get some of my online training done, but I was not lucky. The staff was chatting up a storm, which I would normally won't mind if I had my headphones. Around 11:30am on April 14th 2026- The workers at this location are rude. Specifically the younger Latino man. He verbally reprimanded me (loudly in the cafe in front of several patrons) after I brought my potty training daughter into the store and used a pop-up potty right outside the locked bathroom door. (It was in use) I even covered her from the cafe area with my coat and backpack. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He smugly and LOUDLY said (from behind the counter) about 20 feet away from us "it was a health code violation" when I've seen dogs walk in and out of that location everyday. He said we needed to "wait until the bathroom was not in use". Sure, tell that to a one year old in the middle of potty training. read more

Thought I would try Peet's instead of Starbucks while in town. i went for breakfast this morning and ordered a dark roast and sandwich. They had to brew a fresh batch but didn't let me know until I went back up 10 minutes later to get my sandwich. 15 minutes went by and I went back up and saw my coffee waiting. Now this is real coffee; I can taste the coffee. I was committed to Starbucks, but now, ehh. Had the sugar free vanilla latte. Probably the worst Peet's Caffee I've ever been to in my life(over 30 years) even before Starsucks spread all over. First of all, the staff were very unfriendly(cold as ice more like the right description), and made us felt we were an obstruction of their day. Secondly, they prepared our beverages not only poorly, but one was done at least 15 minutes before the second one was ready! Frankly, I didn't see the logic of having iced drinks ready ahead of hot ones because wouldn't the iced one be all diluted by the time the hot one was ready? Guess the barista didn't care at all whether the customers decide to have one ahead of another or not. Thirdly, they didn't "carry" whipped cream and cocoa powder! Other Peet's such as Menlo Park's didn't have that ridiculous issue, and made way better drinks. Finally, the reason that brought us in was the famously being promoted Ethiopian beans, but guess what? This Peet's unlike other locations didn't have it being brewed to serve to us. Instead, they just put in whatever they liked at the time which was boring to us regular Peet's fans. Never going back to this location ever. I was unimpressed with the service at the shop. There were five employees, but only half were working while the others chatted. They got my order wrong, and when I politely pointed out the mistake to the barista, he seemed annoyed, as if it was my fault. To make matters worse, the shop looked dirty and neglected. read more

Employees need basic training. I got a coffee and an almond croissant. My coffee came out at 901am. At 910am I went up and asked about my croissant. The gal working there brushed me off and said it was 'coming' - essentially rolling her eyes. Went back up at 917am, she said 'oh yeah'. No apology. They got me my croissant in less than a minute later - which she could have done instead of brushing me off. read more

Dependable Peet's cafe hereon Burlingame Avenue. Thank goodness! They didn't close this location. The store is wide open as the chairs & tables are pushed to the side as all Peet's cafes are. I needed caffeine in the form of chocolate. With a chilly breeze a hot cocoa would not be a miss. Rich and chocolatey. Throw in soy or almond or oat...no cow milk for me. The art in the cafe depicts the men & women from the countries where Peet's sources their coffee beans. Good choice! These folks are doing good work. Let's celebrate them and pay them fair coffee prices, hmmm? read more

I love the old-school cafe vibe and the dark colors. I love the great coffee and the unpretentiousness of Peet's. I wish the stores could get a little refresh, though--better counter space and more seating indoors and outdoors. I'm not a frequent flier of Peet's at all and not really familiar with their menu, but when I asked TC questions about the drinks, he was able to explain the differences w. no issue. I then had the two associates choose my drink after giving them the choices of Citrus Hibiscus Iced Tea and Tropical Berry Green Tea (because again, I have no idea what I'm doing. Haha). Dina chose the Citrus Hibiscus for me and gladly explained why she chose it. I must admit I can't complain! It's good , sweet and refreshing, but not in an artificial or overly sweet way. I really hate to leave a 1 star for a Peets, however today was the 3rd time I had an awful customer service experience. I buy my coffee with a snack daily, (often twice) and this is the only peets with such poor customer service. Twice it was the young boy who cashiers in the afternoon (1pm 3/22 if management cares), and I can deal with a bad attitude yet today was exceptionally rude. He clearly hates his job, and if this were my first experience with a peets, I would never return. I'll still go to Peets, but it's Philz when I'm on Burlingame ave from now on. read more

Either the espresso machine is set too hot or bad training - coffee is scalding, bitter (and I like dark roasts) and not worth the $5.00 when there's Philz (always good), and Starbucks (always the same). Maybe it's just me, but when I spend eight dollars for a beverage and I'm polite to the person ringing me up, I expect somebody to be pleasant back. Over it, will now bring my own or go to the many other places on Burlingame Avenue that sell expensive coffee. $30 bucks a week x 52 = $1560 that will no longer go to Peets. read more

I've tried their coffee a few times and it's ok. I don't think I would go out of my way to get their coffee. One time was my error, ordered the seasonal cardamom latte and I didn't care for it at all. Second time I ordered a latte and it was decent but nothing special. Lots of seating at this location and seems to be always busy. My husband got an iced tea and loved it. Verdict it's good coffee but not amazing. So I ordered 3 drinks via phone, I am doing a construction job on the next block. So we were dressed like construction workers I asked if there was a bathroom. The woman behind the counter said it was out of order. So we walked out I came back about 6 to 8 mins later looking for my order. A white woman asked if the bathroom was open and she was like sure if it's closed it's occupied. Of course I spoke up and asked why when I asked she said it was closed? Oh it was a mistake. She told me to go ask someone else like crepevine Was it a mistake? Was it rude or racist ? I feel it was a bit of both. I am offended and will not spend my money in this particular peets again. This is one of the nicer Peet's I've visited. Set in a pretty building with a larger floor plan than those god-awful airport or mall Peet's stores, this one has enough room for me to man-sprawl and relax for a couple of minutes. Lots of food, a cold case, and the usual fare of overpriced coffee cups, a French press or two, and some leftover seasonal stuff. Oh, and coffee by the pound. I generally have neither the time nor the inclination to *sit down* in a coffee place, wasting precious daylight indoors amidst the perpetual junior college students and emerging screenplay writers. But on my recent trip to Burlingame, I spotted a comfortable looking chair here, and, for the briefest of moments, had a seat. Well, it was terrible. Sitting in a coffee place! Downing caffeine and then sitting around is like taking a sleeping pill before a half marathon. There is absolutely NO reason for anything less than 4 stars. I honestly believe people from other coffee shops write bad reviews. This location is small, but the employees are excellent, service is fast and mistakes are exceedingly rare. Peet's should be proud of how the store is operated. read more

Just left the Pete's Coffee on Burlingame Ave. I had been holding on to a "free small coffee with your pound of coffee" coupon. Didn't realize it had been expired for 2 years. Many smart businesses would have honored it, I know Starbucks would have. Not Pete's. At least not the Pete's on Burlingame Ave. Yes, I can pay for a cup of coffee. Yes, I get that it was expired. But it's a SMALL coffee. I don't understand why they would turn a customer away who clearly buys their coffee over a small cup of coffee. Not even sure if who refused to honor the coupon was a manager. I feel sorry for Pete's if she was. What's the actual cost of a cup of coffee? What's the value of a returning customer? read more

Not only is this location convenient for me because I work right across the street but I honestly only want to come to this location. The head manager(or owner) is also so nice! Greets me everyday, and always want to know how I'm doing. I love feeling so welcomed by the team. Most of the fantastic baristas know me by name as well which is nice. Love you guys so much. I prefer independent local cofee houses, but for a chain, I generally like Peet's coffee. This isn't my favorite location. Oh Peet, you silly goose you!! Did you really think you could store coffee in a 1986 decanter and serve it as fresh coffee to a guy with a nose this size? A guy with an Elite Yellow badge on his imaginary name tag?? In 2016 nonetheless? Well, it appears as though the answer to these seemingly hideous questions is YES!!! Short story time. I am a pourover guy. Have been for a number of years. Occasionally, I need a cup of coffee and I completely understand that Peet's doesn't get busy with the pourover (you really should put those "baristas" to work Peet) so, I lower the standards and expectations. Today, which is not the first time, but now will be the last time, I order my coffee and the gal steps over to the 1986 decanter and starts pumping away. No. Way!!! Please, no!!!! Yep. She done did it. The ginormous coffee pot y'all have works perfectly fine in a pinch. I even like that you have fire sprinklers raining down hot water on the semi stale coffee. But, decanter coffee isn't good in any situation unless it's free. At work, if you really need coffee and they have a decanter, drink at your own risk. When I pay $2.05, I need the coffee to have been fresh in the last few hours. I hate that Peet's has dinged me so many times at so many different locations becuase I like the coffee, most of the time. It's sad when I have to avoid places that I once enjoyed, but Peet's is steering the bus in that direction and clearly they are ok with us going up the street to Philz. read more
