A variety of fresh foods and specialty brands are carried here. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and the store was pretty quiet so we were able to peruse at our leisure. Their butcher and seafood section was very impressive - an array of different fresh options that all looked so appealing. You can stock up on some proteins or bring something home for dinner that night. This is not the cheapest place to come to for your grocery shopping but at least you're getting the quality for what you're paying. They have little "customer in training" shopping carts for the little ones, so my kids had a blast wheeling their own carts through the store and helping us "shop." read more

They need to place quality paper bags. I bought groceries this morning , they gave me 2 white paper bags to carry. Both bags tore up in the bottom, grocery fell on the ground. Terrible experience. Please change your Leonardi bags supplier. read more

This is a nice supermarket full of things you might not find at your local market. I've passed by this plaza so many times but never gone inside before. I like the baked goods section and flour -- lots of nice imported Italian sweets and cookies, and they have a nice assortment of flour like 00 (used for pizzas and pasta). read more

This is a great grocery store but I must say Alex had terrible customer service! Rude and impatient with customers. This is my second time I've come to Lunardi's just to get quarters and received the same poor service from him. I was polite and constantly said "thank you" for helping me. If there was an issue with my choice of payment it simply could have been communicated that cash was preferred. The passive aggression was unnecessary and unprofessional. read more

Lunardi's, where your chips go to die! I don't know on how many occasions I have approached the register and I "carefully" hand the bag of chips to the cashier (carefully, 'cause they're chips and delicate and all)--he (cashier) takes the chips with the other groceries and then... when it's time to scan the chips, he vice grips the bag from the bottom, crushing the bag and turning my precious chips into dust. Funny, not funny. There's nothing like getting home to discover your bag of chips, that you just paid close to 6 dollars for, is now a bag of crumbs. This has happened on numerous occasions at this location. The worst being when they stuff the bag and force the last item (the bag of chips) into the little remaining bit of space in the bag, with the final insult being they look at you in the eyes as they pull the handles up, crushing everything in the bag, including--you guessed it--the chips, and hand it to you. When I complain, they give me a blank stare, because they either don't care or can't grasp the concept of not destroying groceries that the customer is paying for. Thanks to the cashier, I then have to go walk back to the chip isle and get a new, uncrushed bag. I've complained to the manager on numerous occasions, but it also seems to fall on def ears. Most other Lunardi's locations seem upscale and super service-oriented, but this location seems to have done some kind of training to maximize their level of disrespect. When we lived in the Bay Area, Lunardi's was supplemental grocery shopping, as they stocked certain specialty items, but were a little expensive for regular visits. One of several locations in the Bay Area, this Lunardis has the same quality and products. The produce is very good and they have a full butcher's counter that has pretty much everything. Staff are very nice and they are very clean and organized. The downside is that they are more expensive but for certain things that's ok. read more

Shopping for produce at this store is concerning. I recently bought two organic gala apples, only slicing half of one. After leaving it on the counter for a few hours, it didn't brown. I left it out for 72 hours, and it still did not turn brown. I have attached pictures for reference. I'm done paying premium prices for what seems to be modified food under the guise of organic. I won't be buying produce from a grocery chain again. This reeks of Bill Gates APEEL coating. If you care about your health, it's better to eat seasonally and buy your produce from a local farm or farmers market, or learn to grow your own food; otherwise, you'll be paying for it later with your health. So I've been here twice grocery shopping with my wife and daughter now and I think I won't be bothering coming back. Nothing wrong with the store or the deli, the produce or meat or fish departments. Even prices are okay. It's just that the staff in general is so grumpy and unfriendly and lack any form of understanding how to communicate and interact with customer that it's just awful. I gave this place one star because of the attitude of two staff on Thanksgiving day. The line setup is confusing and I genuinely thought someone had cut right in front of me. I asked one male clerk why he allowed it, and instead of explaining why, he immediately turned hostile and yelled back at me - right there at the counter while another clerk was ringing up my purchase. As if that were not enough, after that exchange, the female clerk told me she had applied a "senior citizen" discount to my purchase. She said it with a mocking smile, which made it very clear that she did it intentionally to insult me. I am nowhere near that age, and the gesture felt completely inappropriate and uncalled for. Overall the two staff's behavior was disrespectful and condescending. The entire experience left a very negative impression. I would stay away from this market. read more

I bought my food at this location. I lost my receipt after I was done eating one box of sushi. I went inside to use the restroom carrying the second sushi box I got about half an hour ago. I left the store, an employee (looked Latina) rushed out and screamed at me for shoplifting. Giving me this ghetto attitude. I was upfront telling her I paid for it fair and square, but her attitude and false accusations of me stealing triggered my PTSD to go bad. She left confronting me unjustly saying, "whatever, I ain't arguing with you." I was so pissed dude! You wouldn't believe how unfairly I was treated by this lady who worked here! I don't even look like that type, and I was profiled unfairly from this employee at this location for allegedly shoplifting. Her attitude was not welcoming, aggressive, and uncouth. Absolutely HATE that they store Cuneo Bakery foccacia right in front of their hot deli food. First layer is hard and stale...it's literally baking itself AGAIN. They are also stacked about 6 to 7 high (should only be stacked about 4 high at most). The bottom ones are completely flat and smashed. They're also left out at room temperature under lights. Most places either store it in the fridge or room temp but in a darker, cooler area. I really hope they see this review and put their foccacia in a different location. Pros: good location. Good variety. Plenty of parking. Cons: surly employees (I have shopped in this location off and on for 22 years and have yet to interact with a happy employee (read: management has issues). Lines have always been overly slow -- yesterday 13 people in "12 items and under" line which was moving very, very slow. Only one other checker for large, filled carts at other end of store. Warning: Avoid purchasing any of their organic vegetables. The organic kale was awful (where did they get it?) and the spinach was rotten in the inside. This place is great if you got a little extra money to spend. I am comparing to Safeway. The produce and meat is much better quality and always fresh. The workers are all experts in what they sell if you have questions about cooking your dinner or picking the right produce. The workers pretty much know most the customers and they hire kids to bag the groceries which I like because kids need to learn to work and save money for college especially these days. Also they are always fully stocked unlike Safeway and the lines are never as long even during the rush. Just expect to pay about 15-25% more so I would focus on the fresh foods like meats, dairy and produce because they are worth the extra price. If you are going to buy regular groceries you will get a little ripped off but at least you are supporting a more local type business even if it isn't mom and pop anymore like how it started. read more

I really like this grocery location. I was here for the first time the other day and I cannot tell you how nice this place is. They staff here is extremely friendly and there is an enormous amount of options to choose from when shopping here. I happened to stop by just grab some lunch from the deli. Let me tell you about this deli. It is solid. There are plenty of people working in the deli but you will have to wait to be served when it gets busy. The options that are offered at the deli are far and wide. They do offers a lot of side dishes which seem to be fairly fresh: macaroni salad, pasta salad, etc. If you are getting a sandwich from the deli keep in mind that you will be paying a bit more than some of the other deli's that you may be accustom to. This grocery is definitely a great alternative to Safeway Lucky's, in my opinion. I having heard about Lunardi's for some time now i can see what the allure is. I understand that "customer service" is just a bunch of letters strung together to make up those two words, but this store has a long way to go to pony up to the real thing. Consider my last visit to pick up a cake, whereby the young person standing behind the counter, didn't utter one single word to me, upon paying for my cake.
