Twice I have asked to speak to owner, and twice I have been told he is not available; I was also told the owner can be found surfing at beach. Today, I was told owner does not talk to customers at all! So, I would like to note that I have seen many paying customers forced to urinate outside behind 7/11 because the bathrooms are for select few. I have seen 7/11 customers arrested for urinating behind the 7/11. It is a health and safety issue, plus it does smell. Please allow paying customers to use bathroom, so they are not forced to pee behind your stores. It smells and is dirty. The staff, the manager, has asked and told customers to donate money to for her surgery recovery. Instead of asking customers for donations $$$$, ask the boss for raise and not burden paying customers. I have had eight surgeries; I needed TIME to heal not money. read more

I know it's random to review a 7-Eleven but I thought I'd just let you guys know that they sell face masks here! They have cheap "Fashion Masks" for $2.99 and I bought one, they're thin but it's not a bad base to work off of. You can add a coffee filter or two behind the mask for extra protection. They also sold a nicer mask that was thicker for $5.99. I ended up buying a box of disposable masks from Amazon afterwards, but the ones they have here at 7-Eleven aren't bad if you're in desperate need. Also... They have DUNKAROOS! Dunkaroos are my favorite childhood snack from the 90s. They got discontinued in 2012 but they came back last month and so far 7-Eleven is the only place that I know of that sells them. 7-11 like every other is very convenient quick stop, this location carries green tea in their selection, because sometimes a hot drink is needed it when I'm cold and this store has a sink to wash your hands or rinse your reusable bottle. Usually gas prices are high by the coast but at this 7-11 gas is fairly priced. There is wood bundles and propane for sale if need it for the campground near by. Employees have been always polite to us. If you need air for your car tires is $1.50 the machine accepts Apple Pay, cards or cash, but other gas stations about a mile away like chevron or shell provide free air as a courtesy. read more

We stopped in to use the restroom. I saw a handwritten sign telling me to go next door to the park. I had a four year-old child with me that needed a potty; going next door was not going to work for us. So we asked the clerk. She said no and we left. We will never come back to this place. This is a complaint against the rude female cashier that works graveyard shift. On August 18th I grabbed, covered and poked venting holes in refrigerated burritos, placed in microwave and proceeded to heat. I noticed there was no power to microwave and I told cashier, she shrugged and made no effort to turn on. I brought burritos to counter and said I don't want. She said I had to buy because I opened to vent. I said I would if I could heat. She said if I didn't buy she'd call the police and called me a "thief". I waited outside for the the three police cars which arrived thereafter to mediate. She has always been rude, as many graveyarders are, but calling a regular customer with a valid reason for not purchasing a defective product, a cold burrito, a "thief" and calling the police on him is another level. I run a small business and if my employee treated a customer like that I would let them go. However, the cashier is a single mom who recently moved here from Vegas. So when I contact her supervisors and corporate my goal isn't to have her terminated, that would be a hardship, my goal is a strong warning and customer service skills training. Perhaps if she didn't smoke marijuana in her car during breaks she'd exercise better judgment. I know cause someone who isn't me (SWIM) smoked it with her. read more

I will find a new place to get gas, drinks etc as there are much better options close by. I will not spend any money there again after they towed my car at a cost of almost $400 bc I was told you can only park there for max 20 mins. Nothing crazy different about this 7-11. The place was clean, the price of gas was not crazy compared to the rest of the Encinitas and Solana Beach area. The fast good items looked fresh and the food bars/drink area was clean and stocked. There is a private parking lot for the store also. 1 tip to heed for the Passer Byers. There is no public restroom here to which they have a large sign on the door stating this. They do however direct you to the nearest one a few hundred feet away in the park next door. read more

the place has gone to shit. The new owners started out on the right foot, but their effort has vanished. Took months to replace a pump the drunks from the office smashed up. They tore down the community bulletin board and reduced there inventory. Today my daughter dropped her slurpee and refilled it after one employee told her not to worry. She paid for the two slurpee's and on her way out the inconsiderate old hag hassled her for not paying for the one she dropped (after being told not to worry about it.) I estimate I have spent @ 10k in fuel in the 20 years I have lived here. .. what a damn clown show! Better 711's in El Monte this is the worste one I have ever been in. Interesting and surprising customer service experience. Just did a fill up this am at the store which is pretty common for me and decided to grab a cup of coffee. When I got to the counter I saw an offer for medium coffee and 2 glazed doughnuts for $2.00. Thinking I was about to score an upgrade, I asked the clerk if the coffee cup I had was a medium. He said "No, it is a large $1.85". So I asked to switch it out or would he give me the deal with the large and he said "No, Store policy". Baffled, I checked again and he said no he would let me switch it out so I said, " Ok, you can keep the coffee". To which he replied, "Next time you come in I am going to charge you." At this point the whole thing was amusing so I said that was fine but I would not be back. Ironically, stopped at the Circle K by my office for a coffee. The House Blend was empty so as a courtesy I let her know. When I went to check out she said coffee was on the house and thanks for letting her know. read more

The guy working here that everyone else seems to have had problems with accused my girlfriend of shoplifting, then when I left my items on the counter and told him I'd take my business elsewhere he yelled at me to "get the f&*% out" I really needed to eat at that point and he ruined my night for sure. NEW Management! I was tempted to give this review 5 stars to counter the numerous bad reviews about the prior management, but it is not quite 5-star material just yet. However, the new management (which also brought in an entire crew of new employees), is very friendly, keeps the perishable foods fresh (unlike before), and keeps items well-stocked (for the most part). If you have been boycotting this place because of the old mgmt, I highly suggest giving it another chance. read more

The female employee that was working this afternoon was displaying what I believe to be hostile prejudice toward my girlfriend. She has a horrible attitude to someone who shops there almost daily. We live close by so have been buying gas, Red Bulls, snacks, etc. for many years and spend over $1,000.00 per month. We are done with the mistreatment and complete lack of respect to paying customers. Better train employees a little better customer service. Not a great way to run a business. Customers beware. This is all about the employees. A few, Alfonzo for example, are awesome. Super friendly and helpful. The old crotchety dude that works nights/overnights is just plain awful! He is rude, grouchy, never ever ever smiles and it makes going, when he is working an extremely unpleasant experience. I live a few blocks away and on more than one occasion I've gone out of my way to another location just to avoid him. One example, after making a purchase and being charged the wrong amount I went back to where the item is located double checked the price and (Politely!) let him know that he had overcharged me by $.25. he yelled at me that he didn't have time for this shit grab the price tag mumbled something about the store having put the wrong price and then threw a quarter at me saying here's your fucking .25 cents!! I still cannot believe this even as I'm writing about it and if the powers that be read it I would really appreciate a response. Thank you read more

After filling up my SUV with a full tank of gas and my family purchasing items inside the store, they wouldn't even let me use their restroom. And just for the record, I'm a "normal" citizen, no reason to refuse me service. I'd understand if I looked like a junkie, wasn't spending money at their store, etc., but this was down right ridiculous. The clerk was very rude to my whole family. Then I became rude, which was wrong. She brought out the worst in me... No more Minnesota nice. They don't care about the customer here -- that's for sure! If only one could give less than zero, I would. First I was overcharged, than when I asked the cashier to correct the error, she didn't know how. I asked her to get help, and the woman who came over did not seem to know how to refund a debit sale. SO BEWARE -- their cash register charges you for items that you DID NOT BUY. The scanner seemed programmed to charge you for a pizza slice. It showed up on the next person's charges too, only he didn't notice. RUDE, UNTRAINED, AND GENERALLY INCOMPETENT STAFF. Let me start by saying if i could give less than one star I would. This incident was a few months ago but I never had a yelp account until now and the first thing I thought to do was find this gas station and write about a lovely incident I had with their cashier. I had just pumped my car with gas using my debit card then proceeded to pull my car over to the air pump and walk inside with my receipt to get tokens (since they are required to give you free air if you buy gas). I came in (ps I am a small 5'2 girl) with my receipt and said very nicely that I had just got gas and needed tokens for air. The man started screaming, "We don't give free air! You people don't read! Read the sign!!!" I was so caught off guard I was standing there (literally the whole store turned and was looking over as if they were about to come help him from jumping me) in awe assuming I was wrong. So I gave him some coins for tokens... shaking I go back and read the sign thinking I am wrong. Read it three times... NO I am right. So I go back in and put my tokens on the counter and say, "I read your sign again and you are required to give me tokens since I bought gas!" He tells me I never said that, as I respond by saying I did tell him and what did you think the receipt in my hand was for. I have never been screamed at like that, let alone as a customer! I work downtown and live in Encnitas. I drive a lot and always get on and off on Manchester. They just lost about $80 in gas a week all for air tokens... congrats! $80 x 4= $320 a month- $3840 a year read more

I've been noticing something pretty toxic at this store concerning one of the clerks. There is an older lady with graying hair that works there. She appears to be of Mexican American heritage. The reason that I point this out is that she takes on a very tribal attitude with me. She takes one good look at my obviously "blue eyed devil" genetics and cops an attitude of disapproval as though she's dealing with an adversary. She takes on a smirk of disgust and acts as though she resents helping me at all. I bought some cigarettes the other day and she deliberately set the pack and the receipt right next to her on her side of a fairly wide counter requiring that I reach all the way across the counter to get them while she just watched me with amusement. I suggest that this is a very tribal attitude because her mannerisms are very indicative of someone who has done some time. She makes it very obvious that she does not like me and I have never met her, seen her anywhere else, or had any unkind words to say to her or about her before...so maybe she hates white people, so do a lot of people but I have certainly not hated on her or anyone else at that store before and business is business and there's no excuses for attitudes like that out here in the free world. read more
