I love shopping at Sprouts Encinitas because of the very high quality and variety of fruits and vegetables. i also enjoy their fresh made sandwich section. Not only are sandwiches delicious, but they are a great value. What is even more special about Sprouts is the kindness and helpfulness of its employees. Today , I had another very special surprise. I spoke to Bob, the store manager, about Sprouts supporting a Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thanksgiving Day for our community seniors who have no one to share that special day with. What a gracious man!!! Stores are constantly being asked to support various charities, but he reacted as if my request was the most important one he had to deal with and agreed to a generous donation. Stores are in business to make money, but by his actions, Bob made it really clear that Sprouts is in business to serve our community. Sprouts is a great place to patronize. read more

I was told several months ago by a MANAGER at that Store to "be sure and ask for the case discount" on the bars I buy ( and eat daily). I have received the discount every single visit for months since then until today. I was told by Bob, today's manager when I asked for him, that that was wrong. He also pointed to the bar code and said I was getting a case discount already which was untrue! Bars were 2 for $5 and my receipt shows $30. I suggested he clarify that with the staff. He did not apologize for their "mistake ". I will move all my business to Jimbos which is a great store. ( the check out person was lovely and did say she was sorry for the problem) read more

I give 5 stars to the folks at the meat and seafood department. They are friendly and helpful. I give 1 star to Sprouts corporate nitwits (probably some nepotism involved) who decided long ago to have tiny price labels for items stocked in the floor freezers. I want to love this place because I live within walking distance. I'm never in a rush, so I try to maintain a friendly, relaxed attitude when shopping and checking out. The good: The supplements section is nice and employees in that section are always helpful. The Thanksgiving turkey dinner from the deli was fabulous. I like their vegan chocolate chip cookies. Their bulk coffee selection is nice. There is a good selection of organic products. The not-so-good: Often, there is a weird, uncomfortable vibe with the cashiers. There are a couple of good ones who greet me, look me in the eye, help bag, seem to have a sense of humor, and don't rush me through the checkout process. Others seem rushed, unhappy and preoccupied. Items can be out of stock. Much of the produce is in plastic packaging. Prices can be missing or different from what I'm charged (sometimes I'm actually charged less than expected). This week, there was an on-sale pantry item that was not on the shelf, but the Sprouts app indicated it was in stock. I thought perhaps there was more in a back room. When I asked the (nice) employee by the self-checkout how to find out when it would be available, she directed me to ask a manager in a blue shirt for a rain check. The manager directed me to look in another department, but the item was not there either. I got back in line to talk with the manager and they started to write up a rain check, then seemed to ask me if they should be doing that since the sale was going for a couple of weeks longer. I said I just wanted to know when the item would be back in stock, and the manager said "Hopefully sooner than later." I was speechless. Another reviewer said the employees are not treated very well. I suspect some of the employees are unhappy working there, and perhaps not trained very well. If this store had 75% of the Trader Joe's customer service vibe, I'd be thrilled. read more

The deli options at this location are great, we stop in most weekends to pick up sandwiches and/or sushi for lunch - both are always fresh and there are gluten free options for both! Staff is friendly although it sometimes takes a while before they notice people are waiting at the deli counter. Beyond the deli, the groceries are generally pricey but I do appreciate the great variety of gluten free options. read more

I can rarely rely on the fact that I can go to this store and complete even a short grocery list. However they account for stock and whoever is ordering stock, flat out sucks. Inevitably they are out of more than one item on my list. The Carlsbad store isn't any better. It usually takes two stores to complete a list. Love this store, great selection, great staff, and even the shoppers are friendly! The only things needing room for improvement are: (1) Poor selection of organic foods. (2) Sprouts is super-duper expensive, some would say gouging. For that reason I do my main shopping at TJ's down the street, then come to Sprouts maybe once/week for one or two health care items such as organic toothpaste, deodorant, or soap. Other than the above room-for-improvement stuff, I love this store! This morning I picked up organic raw pumpkin seeds. (btw among the healthiest foods for ya so check it out!) This section is for Sprouts owners: You can see most shoppers leaving the store with a single item in their hand or a very small bag of groceries. Guessing that's because high prices prevents shoppers from doing their main shopping there. Sprouts owners, if you're listening... One of my favorite grocery stores - I can almost always find what I need at a fair price. The meat and seafood department is a standout, and Marcus was very helpful when I was picking out some fish. He not only gave great advice on how to prepare it but also shared information about other services they offer for parties and special events. I also love their roasted chicken, especially because they offer a no-seasoning option, which is perfect for my preferences. Really like the vitamin/beauty dept. Found some great bar shampoo as well as natural hair dye. Overall one of my go-to stores. read more

Stuart kept his composure and professionalism. I appreciate the way he treated me where Tina was so angry she had to change the transaction to apply my coupon. I stopped in this North County Sprouts for a number of items, including avocados, organic tortilla chips, white russet potatoes, a loaf of sliced multigrain bread, and some broccoli rabe. All the items were available and accessible. The store was well organized and stocked. All the employee were pretty nice and helpful. I liked that the Sprouts always has competitive prices and offers weekly useful sales. Oh yes, although I did not purchase anything from the meat department, I was highly impressed with the quality and organization of the meat counter. read more

Sprouts is great. This 1 is right off the 5 so it is a convenient location on the way to work or home from work. It is clean, well lit, and has very friendly staff. The layout is not as good as some of the other stores with more room. This 1 seems a little packed in, especially up by the registers. The parking lot is a little annoying, and kind of small with all of the other businesses in that strip mall. People are rude pulling out and will cut you off with no warning. So far the staff is always friendly and helpful. They have some outstanding prices, and they have a great selection of everything from fruits and veggies, to cheese, meat, wine, bread, desserts, etc. They have a deli where you can get meat or get sandwiches made to order at reasonable prices. Pretty good price, like $5 for sandwich, drink and side. On weekends they usually have some kind of free sample, and if you want you can sample the candies and other foods in the bulk bins as long as you ask and don't touch it directly with your hands! Around Thanksgiving or the week or 2 before, they usually offer some type of gift card bonus purchase, like spend $90 and get $10 free or something like that. I think the limit is 2 cards or 3 cards. If you do a lot of shopping there, you might as well take advantage of the special deal. Watch the weekly flyer to see when it happens. It changes every year. read more
