The chairs we planted our butts on to catch up and chat for like an hour were super comfortable, and this just feels like a nice, comfortable, classy space: all open with soft lighting. I noticed that the espresso machine was filthy (there were only two patrons inside and both had received their orders) and the whole station was unclean with grounds everywhere and tampers still full of used espresso. My latte was truly undrinkable. It was truly putrid. The drink was bitter and sour at the same time and had such a burnt flavor that after two sips I couldn't even finish it. I'm always happy to "doctor my drinks" up in these instances (add milk, request something else) but as a former barista myself I knew this was an espresso issue, not a milk or syrup issue. Both baristas went back to texting and I left uncaffinated, disheartened and my drink went right in the trash. With other coffee spots nearby they really need to step their game up. I could have gotten a better latte (and probably better service) at Dunkin.
