Starbucks in HOPEWELL only gives 1 day to pickup your Birthday Drink or item! This is senseless! I was out with family and didn't have time to pick up my free item! You need to be like other restaurant Establishments and give a person 7-30 days to pick it up! Most of my free bday items from stores has given me 30 days to pick it up!!! Some have given 7 but having to pick it up on the very Birthday is definitely meant for your customers dissatisfaction and keeps you from giving anything away for FREE! What a Stab in the back! This was such a bad experience. There was minimal kindness from the staff, and the lady barista with piercings was downright rude when I asked if they could rinse out my cup. They made me feel so uncomfortable--it was clear they didn't care at all about customer service or the job at hand. To top it off, the caramel macchiato I got was the worst I've ever had. How do you mess that up when the machine does most of the work? This was the last time I'll step foot in a Starbucks. The people here and the company as a whole just don't care. This store is understaffed a lot but they work well with what they are given. This store is usually clean every time I go inside. They always have the cups and such in the dining room stocked and set up pretty well even when the new cups come out. I love how they prominently blast Military Dec and have Army Memorabilia sprinkled throughout the store. But told "we dont honor military discount" when you want to patronize their business. I will start off by saying I am not a coffee drinker or Starbucks lover. I went w/ a friend who is a Starbucks lover last week to drink some coffee, get a snack and finish writing a paper. As we stood in front of the glassed food case deciding what to order, there were several little flies inside of the case on the pastries. Just a little odd (to me) and UNappetizing. This location use to be a bank. The entire building just seems a little peculiar to me. They still have the bank "lanes" for the drive-thru, but only the one window. This used to be the fastest Starbucks ever but once they remodeled and closed their doors for a couple of weeks, it's a 15 minute drive thru wait when they are open. They have been randomly closing due to staff shortages. It's difficult to plan a morning routine with this particular store. Place is located about a 1/4 mile outside the gate of Fort Lee. The location is great and parking is not a problem, if you don't want to park, there is a drive thru. Place is always CLEAN! Has not been crowded all the times Ive been. What I love about the place is that the drinks no matter what I order have been consistently good! Several months ago I ordered the blueberry oatmeal and when I got to work I found that blueberries were moldy. The gave me a free one the next day. Today--I decide to go back and order the blueberry oatmeal again and when I get to work--all they gave me was a tub of oatmeal. When I call the store, I spoke with Amanda who said that while she was a manager, I couldn't talk to the manager on duty because he was busy working the drive thru. When I explained what had happened she asked me to go back and get a refund--they don't give refunds over the phone. ????? I paid cash--with a dollar tip. She asked me to come back and get my refund. ???? At work. She then asked me what would make me happy--uh? The rest of my order!? At the time I placed it. Silence...no offer to make it right at my next visit--nada! THEN I call Starbucks corporate customer service and spoke to "Jasmine" who also just sat there silently for several seconds after I finished my sad story until I said hello??? Then a couple seconds more and she says she's waiting for me to finish--excuse me? There have been several seconds of stone silence on this "recorded"--what cue is needed for you to understand that I have completed my tale of woe? THEN she launches into her script and wants to know if I have a rewards card--apparently that is the sole source of "making it right" and if you haven't got one...your tale of abysmal customer service is blithely discounted as impossible to rectify any other way... Why the heck would I get a Starbucks Reward for moldy and/or missing blueberries and make this customer service disaster a routine and recurring part of my day??!! This building used to be a BB&T branch and it works incredibly well having been redesigned as a Starbucks. The interior is one of my favorite Starbucks designs - plenty of open space and decent enough seating, though one is left a but puzzled as to why there isn't more seating gven the wealth of space available. That aside, employee turnover here seems to be quite a bit higher than other Starbucks I've frequented, and it shows. Employees seem completely disengaged and drink orders are often wrong. This would be a fantastic location for a genuine coffee shop, because it's being wasted by its current inhabitants. read more

Very nice place to do some work, especially on a Monday morning. This location is very spacious. Lots of two-person tables, numerous outlets, and sofas. Very spread out so you don't feel like you are sitting on top of others. There aren't many "bigger" tables for those who want to spread out with a laptop and several books/notepads, but I don't know how crowded it does get here. I didn't have any problems with service. The moment I walked in, I was greeted, and my coffee was prepared immediately. The drive thru must be the popular item since they have two lanes. Great place and I'll plan to study here more often when I'm in the area. read more

Before their remodel in October, the Hopewell location was one of the best Starbucks around. Since the remodel, they have a completely different staff that is not knowledgeable, super slow and unfriendly. Not to mention, they have changed their hours to almost nothing and then they randomly close. Most days they are only open from 2pm-9pm. Sometimes they will be open in the morning and by 3pm they are closed. Today (a Saturday) they were closed before 1pm. When they are open, plan on waiting in line for at least 25-30 minutes. You can no longer order ahead on the Starbucks app for this location and they are usually out of a lot of things. I'm not sure what they are trying to do to this location, but they need to really evaluate their business model. The location in Colonial Heights is about the same. Since they are the only 2 Starbucks around here, it really doesn't make sense that they are run like this. I've pretty much stopped going here because of all this. I really miss the old staff and how it was run before. read more

Complete mistreatment at this location Saturday morning 8/23. Ordered two bagels for my kids, one with butter and one with cream cheese. I realized they have two cream cheese in the bag and no butter. Went back inside and told the girl (there were 3 working) and she told me to bring the other cream cheese back. I asked her if they were going to take my cream cheese back and sell it to someone else. She said i was only supposed to have one and i needed to return it if i wanted butter. She had an extremely rude attitude, angry even. I went to my car and came back in. She held hand out and took the cream cheese, threw it straight in the garbage and handed me butter. Again with a nasty attitude. I told her her attitude was unacceptable and she smugly said have a nice day. I was highly annoyed with this location when Friday evening I had sent my sister to go get me and my fellow coworkers some coffee because I had a buy one get one free coupon that I could use. A couple minutes later my sister called to tell me that the drive thru employee would not accept my coupon. I double checked to make sure the coupon did not say only good at certain locations, which it didn't. Once my sister arrived back at our place of business I called the manager who assured me that he would take care of it if someone came the location with my debit card. I ended up sending another coworker because I was the manager on duty and was unable to leave. The manager did nothing but give my coworker a hard time and only ended up refunding me five dollars instead of the nine dollars he should have. This place is the best. Whenever I go in there they most of the time have the stuff that I want. There has only been one or two times that they did t have a cake pop gay I wanted, but they offered to get me different ones. I tend to go in there any time when I'm in the area. It's pretty convenient when I have to go somewhere really quick and they are really fast at making the drinks so I give them an A+ on that. Cause I know that's probably really hard. I usually order the peppermint mocha latte and this Starbucks always has more flavor than others that I've been to. The workers are always friendly, even when they are swamped. It's another Starbucks review so here we go. It was about 8:30 pm Sunday evening and I was running low on caffeine. I popped in for a fix which is a large dark roast. The lady behind the counter says how about a large medium roast. And of course I replied no I want a dark, and she replied they were out. And of course I said what beans or coffee and she said coffee. So she tells me she could make me some but it would take 5 minutes and I said no problem. If she would have said this to start with I would have already had it. So while I was waiting I got a Brownie to munch on. Well got my coffee and it was blazing hot and some kinda good. So next time I go I hope there out again so I get fresh brewed and steaming hot. But they took care of my fix until next time. I kinda like this location better then the one in Chester. It is a tad bit larger and not quite as busy and less snooty people around. So I just might hit this place up again. read more

Let me start by saying, I love Starbucks! I frequent them several times a week, if not everyday. I hit this particular Starbucks a lot because it is right outside of post and it is on my way to work. Almost every time I have been to this Starbucks, the employees have been either rude or act like they hate their jobs. They are not very helpful at all and talk to you like your an idiot. I do love the inside, as it is very roomy and decorated warmly. I think the management needs to start training their employees on customer service. read more
