If you're not starting with a quality product you're not going to get a quality end product. If I'm treating myself, I really like when the drinks are special and thoughtful, and they are always thinking through the menu with a rotating selection of interesting, often themed drinks that offer something for every taste. I love how they partner with other local businesses including 19 Coffee Company, Pastries A La Carte, and Becca Bakes. In addition to these pastries there are some light bites such as sandwiches available. They have space to feature some local makers of things like jewelry and once I even bought a little painting created by a dog here to support the dog's medical treatment. That's the kind of local establishment you're dealing with and it's why I love them. All of this and I haven't even gotten to how cozy this place is. The decor is thoughtful with lots of room to sit and work or relax. There's a little book nook area, an outdoor patio, and spaces by the window where you can people watch out Brookline Blvd. The people are always super nice. It's a great choice for your neighborhood coffee shop.

OK, so the spot has been open for a minute in Carrick, which is only like 2 miles from my home and…read moreI've been dying to try it. And let me tell you it does not disappoint. We got there early because I always see a line after like 11 AM so we got there a somewhere between 10 and 1030. We gave our name to the hostess and she let us know. It would be like a 20 minute wait you have to wait outside in your car or on the street due to the space restrictions inside which is no big deal. I don't even think we waited a full 20 minutes for our table to be ready. In the interim of waiting, we looked at the menu so we would know sort of what we wanted and when we sat down our server, Tia, I believe that was her name came over with the best energy, my brother and I both like we wanna start our day with her every day because she just was killing it. She offered feedback on menu items. She even suggested that I could get aside of something I was wanting, but I also knew that it would be too much and so I ended up getting the Philly cheesesteak omelette with a side of home fries, and she suggested that I get the side pancake up sold to the strawberry shortcake version which I didn't even know it was possible, but she was like no totally doable. My brother got the meat lovers omelette with a side of fries and a side of corned beef hash. Everything was hot. Everything was delicious. The flavors of everything just killed. And I would go back and scarfed down a whole plate of their strawberry shortcake pancakes, but for the fact that it would be too much food. If you haven't been you need to go this is like a cannot miss breakfast spot. Now I have to go back for lunch because they do wings and waffles (together!) they also offer sandwiches and other items. breakfast was just the tip of the iceberg. 10/10

This post is a little different. It was a delivery order and not dine-in so I cant comment on…read moreservice or atmosphere. Last weekend I was in the hospital and my wife asked if I wanted her to bring me something when she visited me. I had always wanted to try the food here, becasue it looks so amazing online, so I we agreed The Breakfast Spot was the place! I ordered the Reeses Pancakes while she ordered the French Toast Flight. That is where the fun stopped. When she arrived, I opened my container and was immediately disappointed. Not only was there barely any chocolate on the pancakes, but there wasnt any peanut butter. I was starving so I figured I will still give them a go. After a few bites, I honestly threw them in the trash and ate the hospital food. Almost no chocolate, no peanut butter and the driest I had ever eaten. The french toast flight was, at best, mediocre. The toast wasnt dry, however the toppings were flavorless and placed in one small lump in the middle of the bread. I was so excited to try this place but I couldn't have been more disappointed. Maybe take-out orders are just carelessly made? Maybe the food would be really good and they would make it properly if I ate it in the restaurant? Honestly, I dont want to risk wasting my money and time to try. I recommend avoiding this restaurant, especially for take-out. I dont want you to be disappointed like me.
