You have plenty choice of customizations, which I banked on when ordering my 3 egg omelet. I skipped the meat and cheese and went straight for veggie loading. This thing was jacked up with an impressive mount of salty black olives (no additional seasoning needed), caramel tinged onions and large slices of cooked mushroom. It was buttery without being drenched in the flavor, letting the ample egg fill my belly. I couldnt even manage to poke at my 3 extra large pierogies or my double slices of marbled rye with a butter sheen, which made it into a to go box. My companion got the pecan banana French toast. It came with decently sized bacon, in that sweet spot of crispy. The sweet level of the star itself was pleasureful without being cavity inducing. The thick bread wasn't overly eggy, rather buttery, layered with slices of banana between and on top. The caramel sauce had the right viscosity and quantity, holding the nuts. It was topped with whipped cream, a really solid showing. She tapped out about halfway through, also taking a to go box because this place does not play around (yet somehow manages to come off as playful all the same.) The leftovers will carry us the rest of the way on our long journey back home where we will mourn our lack of The Crack'd Egg, who are entirely what they are cracked up to be. read more

I stopped in looking for a late breakfast/brunch. I got the breakfast burrito and some coffee. My wife got a grilled cheese and tomato soup. Everything tasted great and staff was very friendly and everything is priced fairly. However, you must know that they let you know real quick that they are very right wing. From the patriotic work wear to the Christian imagery in the decor to the anti mask merchandise for sale in the back, they hit you over the head with it in a hurry. The badazzled "I Will Not Comply" t shirt is notable item. Whatever your beliefs are, this just too much and unnecessary. I just want some coffee and eggs. This country has enough propaganda on every corner. Do in need it at brunch? I submit that I do not. We went on a Sunday late morning, and the wait time was approximately 20 minutes for two. There was a bit of line. When you walk in, the space is much larger than it appears from the outside. We were seated just under 20 minutes in the middle of the dining room. The noise level is quite moderate. Be careful of the floor, I almost slipped twice wearing my booties. The decor and atmosphere carries a comfy and homey vibe which is refreshing especially on a Sunday morning. I ordered the Spiced Pumpkin Coffee off their seasonal menu; the homemade cream was excellent! I savored it for the entirety of my meal. The menu is unique with the names of meals. For example, I ordered the Olive Oyl which is simply a tomato, spinach, mozzarella and olive omelette. It was good and made traditionally. My partner ordered the Steak and Eggs which he admitted needed A1 sauce. He still enjoyed it even though the flavor was slightly lacking. Overall, we found the food delicious even if needed a little more flavor. The staff was busy but very hospitable and helpful. The space and location are charming. I forgot to take a photo of the menu which I usually always do. :( Anyway, my son always wanted to try it here and we have lived literally a block down the road for almost 7 years yet this was our first visit this past Saturday morning. The only other time we have been here was when Mrs. Claus comes to the restaurant for the Brentwood Christmas festivities. The service here is just great - very attentive and friendly. I don't have a thing bad to say - we didn't have to ask for anything, he brought us everything we needed. I just wish we came sooner. The breakfast that my son got was the funfetti pancakes with sausage patties ($3.99). I had the 2 egg combo with sausage patties, fried potatoes, and toast ($6.99). My son had a large glass of orange juice which was pretty big compared to other diners - I was surprised. The coffee was delicious as I tend to judge breakfast places based on their coffee and breakfast meats. The meals were made just right (and came out at the appropriate time maybe only 15 minutes after we ordered) with the perfect portions that leave you satisfied and not overstuffed. The inside of the restaurant gives off a comfortable feel as if you are in your own dining room. There are a few tables to sit outside (and even water dishes for dogs!) - really cute home-y decor. I like the small tabletop trash cans for little trash items from sugar, milk, jelly etc - makes for a smooth cleanup for the staff. All of their prices were very reasonable. We often frequent First Watch but this restaurant is probably the nicest little diner in our community and I look forward to many more visits as I prefer to support locally. This review should have happened a couple years ago but I forgot about it until recently. I was on a traveling construction team that had a overnight job in the Pittsburgh area . My crew of workers picked your establishment for a quick to go breakfast because we had gotten off to a late start from the hotel . I opted for the chicken salad pita and the crack'd fries . My coworker Mitch opted for a eggs over easy with home fries, sausage , bacon and three orders of toasted white bread and I believe he ordered a 1/2 gallon or extra large chocolate milk and a breakfast danish or something that resembled a danish We arrived at the job site 10 minutes late ( traffic issues) and went straight to a job site foreman meeting. Half way through the meeting Mitch started to burp and release what I refer to as SBV ( silent but violent ) toxic gas from the rumbling interior of his stomach , I could tell he wasn't going email it to the Joh Johnny that were stationed about 3 city blocks from the superintendents trailer . Needless to say Mitch prairie dogged the first 175 yards then came to a sudden stop !! He wasn't going to make it to the provided job site bathrooms , he knew it , I know it and the 60 or so hired contractors that were on the job site that day knew it . Mitch ended up relieving his bowels in the middle of a dirty , muddy jobsite filled with construction vehicles !! This was my first time here for breakfast. The food was fresh, the menu names creative and the server very personable! I knew it would be a good experience when our server just gave us four quarters for the parking meter and told us about the street behind the restaurant to park next time. The coffee was hot and not your typical water downed breakfast java. It was bold and delicious. They offer three different kinds of potatoes; cheesy, home fries and crispy potato pancakes. We had the latter two and they were both full of flavor. The toast options were more extensive than most as well. Two homemade chicken tenders smothered in a very yummy homemade gravy, two eggs (mine over medium for a little dippy action), home fries and two thick pieces of marble rye toast. My daughter had the Eastwood which was a stuffed omelet with all kinds of goodness. My only lack of five stars was the price. For two of us with tip $30 for breakfast. A bit steep. I had herd about the Crack'd Egg and many raving reviews. My daughter and I went there for breakfast today. Th waitress came over and gave us menus and took drink orders immediately. Waitress was extremely friendly. I had 2 eggs over easy with well done bacon and home fries and white toast. The bacon was the best part of the meal unfortunately. The home fries were very good as well, But it was like a half a portion??? The eggs which should of been over easy where not cooked correctly not left on 2nd side long enough to cook it correctly. the yolk was fine but the whites were watery? / whites not cooked properly. If it was not for the fantastic and friendly service I would of given them 1-2 stars only. I give them 3 stars as the service was exceptional, But the food not. I do not think I would go there again as I generally eat the same thing all the time and to get half an order of home fries and eggs that are not cooked correctly I do not need to travel that distance. When you arrive it feels like a diner in Florida - yellow walls decorated with colorful wall art and a gray chair rail. The tapestry bar stools are a warm feeling also. The staff will happily seat you to a booth or table if you do not wish to sit at the bar. Then it is time to make decisions on what to eat. My husband got the Release the Cracken...You get to decide your egg style, 2 (two) meat selections, potato type, toast type and then you get to select pancakes - plain, blueberry, banana or chocolate chip. I have seen the front of this place almost everyday driving down Brownsville rd but never had the opportunity to go in because of their hours of operation (8am-2pm). I stopped over here after my blood work "fast" to try out their breakfast. They actually serve lunch and brunch but I opted for breakfast. The place is very clean and there are tables and booths along with a bar to eat from. Upon arrival I was told I could sit anywhere I wanted. I chose a large booth and my waitress was extremely attentive to my needs. I even had a cloth napkin which held my silverware. Portion sizes appeared huge but I had a craving for an omelette. If one on the list didn't meet your expectations then you can order a "make your own" with one meat and 3 other fillings. The omelet comes with toast of your choice, and your choice of home fries or potato pancakes. Most omelets are 3 eggs so I ordered one with Swiss cheese and veggies. Everything you need is right on the table including ketchup. I got my food in a reasonable amount of time. This omelet was delicious and the rye bread that came with it was very thick! Quite filling to say the least. I had coffee-your standard type you would get in most breakfast spots but I liked the fact that the food was not greasy and believe me hard to finish. Prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. This is a very small place on Brownsville Road almost directly opposite Brentwood Towne Square. Parking however, can pose a problem. Street parking is available if you are lucky enough to find it. You cannot park in the Towne Square and walk up. Signs are there stating they will tow unless you are visiting one of those businesses. Definitely a must return to try out for lunch. 2 hour street parking is available during the day but again the spots are very limited. read more

There's nothing more that I love than breakfast. Replacing an older breakfast joint, the Crack's Egg really cracked the code to a great spot. Totally renovated and open space. The coffee is strong, hot and bottomless. I've visited twice and can't wait to go back for more. Omelettes are fluffy and full. Selections of breads to accompany and choices of potatoes makes me very happy on a Saturday AM drop-in. While I haven't (yet) tried the waffles or pancakes, from a distance they look amazing!
