I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I had to for this place!! Amazing coffee with unique flavor combinations that work very well. I got the Orange Dream latte because I've never tried a latte with orange in it, but it was delicious! Kind of like a vanilla latte with a citrusy aftertaste. The Piloncillo Latte was also delicious, and whatever oat milk they use is great, super creamy and not watery at all. The guy on the register was super nice and kind as well, and I really appreciate him going out of his way to give everyone in our party a unique recommendation. The location is super unique, historical and photographical, there's a little section for books and an art gallery next door. My husband and I came to Provecho because it kept showing up on lists of the best coffee shops in San Diego, so we had to check it out. It's tucked into a cute neighborhood near Logan Heights. We came around 9 a.m., and street parking was easy to find. There was already a line when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly. The baristas were friendly and welcoming, and I thought the prices were really reasonable for San Diego. I ordered the black sesame matcha, and my husband got the Piloncillo. The matcha was creamy, rich, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. One thing to know if you're ordering matcha or a latte--they only offer oat milk, not almond milk. My husband loved his coffee and said the espresso was smooth, flavorful, and let the coffee shine without being overcomplicated. The shop itself is really cool too. There's an art installation inside, an outdoor patio with additional seating, and I noticed quite a few people picking up bags of espresso beans while we were there. I love that this place has history it used to be a big bread warehouse! Literally they used to make bread there. Rustic for sure ! Love the whole idea of it and brining some art to it as well. Provecho Coffee is a sleeper hit! The coffee and baked goods are delicious, and the prices are pretty reasonable. It's located in a residential area and doesn't have dedicated parking, so you'll be sharing street parking with neighborhood residents and other customers. This place can get PACKED. Every time I've gone, the line has been almost to the door, so I'd definitely recommend getting there early. Also, I don't believe they have AC, so it can get pretty stuffy inside, especially during the summer. Overall, definitely worth checking out; just come early and be prepared for a little wait! read more

I've tried their pour-over coffee and the Orange Dream. They were both rich in flavour. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor seatings with open spaces. It's a popular cafe to work, study, or just chat. Give this cafe a try if you are a coffee lover. read more

It was spectacular. Not too sweet but just perfect. I also had a chorizo crescent. It was savory and fluffy. I was not expecting to like this shop as much as I did but if I could give this 6/5 stars I would. And the shop is such a vibe. An old roaster in the middle of a very unassuming building. The service there is amazing. The gentleman taking my order was kind and welcoming. I went in asking for a caramel iced latte (basic, I know) but I've been trying to find the best coffees in SD, so I try to order the same thing everywhere to keep it consistent. They didn't carry that, but he walked me through all their specialty drinks instead. I'm glad I went with the piloncillo. It was sweet enough and didn't have that bitter taste. The chocolate vanilla concha was AMAZING. I thought about it the rest of the day LOL. There is seating inside and outside. The location seems to be inside a neighborhood, so it was nice to see the dogs walking by. There is no AC, and I didn't see outlets. read more

Came with some out of town friends to show them this spot. Very busy even on a Saturday afternoon still. Got the creamy cold brew this time which was on their seasonal menu. It's cold brew with condensed milk cold foam. Unfortunately this one was a bit of a miss for me. The cold brew while smooth was less coffee forward than I prefer. The condensed milk cold foam was pretty watery and not condensed milk enough. It just tasted like a sweetened cream. I'll still with the other foam tops! Also a little bit of a pet peeve when they don't fill a drink all the way up, especially when I didn't adjust ice level. read more

What a vibe. Everyone had the same idea for Saturday coffee in Barrio Logan. The line was long the entire time we were there. The aesthetic is clean and on brand. The coffee is good, once size to keep things simple. My only complaint is that the sesame cold foam was the end of the bottle; so it was more watery than dense. I always have an awesome time down at Provecho! Coffee Co. in Barrio Logan. It's situated inside of Bread & Salt, an incredible and down-to-earth art gallery that hosts a great range of installations and exhibits year round. The atmosphere is welcoming, open, and feels friendly toward people from all walks of life, families, and even dogs! I've had a handful of drinks here, including the Americano, cortado, and oat milk latte. Everything is really smooth, balanced, and tasty. I really enjoy working here with my laptop sometimes. Since the WiFi is so strong and the vibes are so nice. Definitely recommend trying Provecho! out--I'd even say it's worth the drive from further spots like Chula Vista or Clairemont. read more

The coffee shop is hidden in this unique little warehouse in Logan Heights. There's a small set up for the bar in the center of the warehouse. The barista who took our order was really nice & made conversation with us as we were ordering. The vibes of this cafe is great, but the coffee itself was lacking greatly. Provecho has been around for several years as a coffee catering service and the company launched a cold brew coffee service during the pandemic. Soon after, they settled into their permanent space in a former bread factory in Bread in Salt in the Barrio Logan neighborhood. They mostly offer single organ coffee, pour overs and specialty beverages and they like to feature coffees from Mexico. On a tasting trip we tried the Costa Rican and Columbian options which are two of my favorite coffee regions in addition to beans from the Chipas region of Mexico. We met with the owners and purchased beans and hats. They have a fun merch program. The space is open, relaxed and offers an array of art both inside and on the outside patio. At the time of this review, there is a " What You Carry" display outside in which you can place something from your pocket or handbag to add to the art exhibit. Provecho is one of those spots that just gets it. Big warehouse energy with huge tables. It's right next to Bread & Salt, so there's always something happening- events, art shows, people vibing. My forever orders: the iced sesame latte and the orange dream (don't question it- just trust). Both are dreamy, balanced, and creamy. We came a little before 10am on a Sunday morning and there were only about 3 people in front of us but by the time we left around 10:30am, the line was very long. This coffee shop was definitely off the beaten path. Had a unique vibe within it. That was artsy and welcoming. I really liked the vibe inside and you can tell there was a lot of regulars posted doing work or visiting. I have never been to a coffee shop that offered the flavors that this place did. The barista at the counter was very helpful answering all my questions. I was very pleased with her suggestions for our coffee. If you have a hard time string from traditional coffee, shops that are more mainstream like Starbucks this may not be a good fit for you. However, if you're open for adventure, I highly recommend that you come here and enjoy something new and exciting. It also seems as if there is lots of different art pieces you can walk around and see. Cool little coffee shop with unique drinks. The space is pretty big but, if you didn't plan to go there, you would probably miss it. I was stuck between the Orange Dream Latte and the Black Sesame Latte. The barista suggested Orange Dream if I wanted an iced latte or Black Sesame if I wanted a hot latte. I went with the iced Orange Dream. It was delicious. It has a nice balance of coffee and a subtle orange flavor with a slight sweetness. This is seriously a not so hidden, hidden gem! Cako and I just finished our walk and I searched for coffee, and Provecho came up! I honestly did not know where I was going, but I saw people, and luckily there was a parking space in front. Had I known they were dog friendly, I would've brought Cako in. Lots of neighborhood people which is always a good sign. I saw on their website that they had coffee beans from Chiapas and I grabbed a bag. There was a line and it did take a while but no fault of the workers. You'd think after waiting in line, you'd know what you want. Finally got to the front, met the owner Gerardo, and was able to get my beans ground. He told me they'd been open for two years. Man I must be living under a rock! There are plenty of seats and small tables and two large communal tables inside. They also have a great outdoor seating area. Definitely worth checking out! It was my first time at Provencho after a lot of good words about it from my buddy Liiban. It's nestled in a gallery warehouse and instantly it had the exact vibes I love. We were the first people there today and the baristas were friendly and helpful as I navigated through the menu. I ordered the creamy cold brew and the espresso tonic. Creamy cold brew was a great baseline for me. I love coffee and I could tell that the quality was top notch. It had the perfect bitterness and sweetness. Espresso tonic was a revelation. It was the first one i've ever had and it was great. Probably couldn't have a better first experience with a coffee shop, I recommend this place absolutely. read more
