My favorite stop for Mexican mocha when in Barrio Logan! I took my bestie yesterday to enjoy some time together before she goes back to full working mode next week. We had a great time browsing all the cool gadgets, toys, purses, hats, everthing and their mochas are excellent! The best, though, is the Latin music and those pink tables outside at the entrance where we could spend a great time drawing and talking with another guy who was also drawing (furniture for his own creations!). We actually got to talk to people and had an excellent time. The girls working there are very friendly. I fully recommend this Chikita Cafe also if you like all things
If you're looking for a cute coffee cafe that has a down-to-earth vibe, then I recommend you try Chikita Cafe. The service was fast and friendly, and the decor was super cute. I had the banana matcha with chocolate krispies. It was excellent, but I think I'd leave off the krispies next time. My daughter said the Nutella donut was yummy. I didn't try it, but I saw several people ordering a bag to go. A couple suggestions to the owners: Create a customer loyalty card customers can have punched with each visit. Think about playing some great music on the patio. I did take a photo with the Selena painting, so maybe some of her music. We will definitely make a return visit to Chikita Cafe in Barrio Logan
I love this place! It's the perfect spot to grab a coffee and shop for little gifts while you wait. The space is super cute and thoughtfully curated. The only downside is parking, it's tough since it's located near a school and other businesses. That said, it's totally worth it. I especially love their themed drinks for each holiday. The flavors actually come through, which I really appreciate. For example, you can truly taste the gingerbread in the gingerbread latte, something a lot of coffee shops miss. Overall, such a cute spot with great drinks and a fun shopping experience.
Happy find!!! Stopped by this location after breakfast. Wife got the cafecito and I got the matcha. We also came up on a bonus dessert (which was so good). Service was great and place was really nice. Especially the HUGE table of stickers.
My Bottom line: they make coffee. Everyone has their own preferred taiste.! Some coffee shops make there coffee very to strong well other make it to weak. I traveled 1hour to try this place. I have no regret. This is how I like my coffee. Cool little trinket store, that's just for looks , like I said am here for the coffee. Customer service is the same as Starbucks, are they your best friend no. But I am not here to make friends.. I guess am shocked at the review that people have posted for this place. Be kind.. your not Gordon Ramsey. No restroom here.
Dang! I must be living under a rock! A friend of mine posted on her Insta about this place and since I was in the neighborhood, I thought I'd check them out and I needed a caffeine boost! It's a great little spot! It's also a retail shop with some cool things, but the coffee is a real winner. I didn't want anything extravagant so I got the brown sugar latte with cinnamon....really good! Staff is friendly! I love the outdoor seating with umbrellas. I also like how some of the customers drive up to the driveway and hope outta their cars to get coffee. Can't wait to return! Cako Approves!
Again on our journey to try a new coffee place we found Chikita Cafe. What a fun looking little place. It kinda looks like it was a car garage place at one point and now transformed into this adorable little Hispanic run cafe. They sell a lot of items outside of coffee, like stickers, mugs, candy and purses. If you want to try a pastry with your coffee they have that too. We came kinda early so their pastry selection was low and was being filled about 10 minutes after we ordered. Service was friendly and we got our lattes in a normal amount of time. I ordered the iced banana chai. Wow what a great taste of banana and espresso happily living together in a cup. I highly recommend it. My son in law got the iced little bunny that had the flavors of tres leches with a strawberry foam and sprinkled with fruity pebbles. My daughter had the iced banana caramel latte and ordered it with a banana foam. My daughter and I both liked the banana chai the best. I will go back again for sure. You can temporarily park in the driveway or surrounding street parking and they have a few tables for outside seating.
CHIKITA Cafe is such a vibe! The coffee is STRONG exactly what I needed to wake me up. My dog loved it too (big bonus for being super dog friendly ). The whole place screams Mexican culture, and I'm here for it. From the menu to the cute things they sell, everything feels authentic and full of heart. If you're in Barrio Logan, you HAVE to check it out. Great coffee, good vibes, and just an all-around cool spot. I'll definitely be back!
My friend recommended this place, and it did not disappoint! We got a Oreo frap, iced mango lemonade & strawberry matcha. Drinks were bomb and of course the decor was so cute :)
The coffee was mediocre at best, nothing special. I initially asked the barista for a cookie butter latte, and she flat-out said they didn't sell it. Then another barista chimed in, saying, "Oh, we don't have it today." Confused, I asked if they had anything similar, and the first barista dismissively said, "I don't know." Not helpful at all. I ended up ordering "The Santa," which was mint-flavored and just okay. The worst part was when I asked if their Labubu figures were authentic since they were priced at $30. Instead of giving a clear answer, the barista became super defensive and rude, snapping that they were "authentic." Against my better judgment, I bought one, and it's fake. It feels incredibly scammy to charge premium prices for somethung that is not a genuine products If they're fake, just own it and price them accordingly! This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable, especially when running a business. Edit to add, they blocked me on socials rather than reach out! Speaks volumes about how you run your business! You like scamming customers

First time at Chikita Cafe, and I'm already planning my next visit. The space is so cute, from the decor to the outdoor seating, and the Hello Kitty, Lotería, and Homies merch had me feeling all the '90s nostalgia. The sticker table was such a fun touch too! We ordered the carne con papas burrito, and it was hot, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their fresh red and green salsas. For drinks, we got the Banana Mazapán with butter cookie foam and the Arroz con Leche Latte with vanilla foam. Both were perfectly balanced, and I loved that the arroz con leche latte has actual rice in it! Friendly staff, great vibes, reasonable prices, and so many things I still want to try. Can't wait to go back for the Cajeta Banana! read more

This place was so cute! They were really welcoming and patient with us because it was our first time here. We got to browse the store while waiting for our coffee and bagel. They have a lot of different trinkets available. I would highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

Cute and very unique cafe for sure! Anything with "Salinas" aka Selena, will draw in attention, obviously it worked with me! Lol! This cafe has a garage sale vibe that sells random things, anywhere from sticky bras to coffee mugs and replica Christian Dior bags! However, I must say, everything looked very old and dusty just like an actual garage sale, except the items were not priced cheap. Not to mention, the cafe is definitely located in the middle of a neighborhood as well! The vibes were absolutely different and fun and I did enjoy my coffee! I ordered the Chikita iced Latte with pumpkin cream and it was great! We also ordered the little breakfast burritos to try as well. For $4, we didn't expect much and we were right. Very basic pre-made mini burritos from home, nothing special. What knocked a star (or two) for me was their salsa! We opted for salsa verde, which oddly, was not even green lol and then to top it off, it was gelatin! The moment I opened the lid to the salsa I can tell it was solidified and was not going to pour over my burrito at all. Just think of a Jell-O shot...... that's how the salsa was. Straight up gelatin! Now I've had salsa sit in my fridge for days and even weeks and not once have I seen gelatin salsa before. This really ruined my appetite and made me wonder wtheck the ingredients were. Yikes! Anyways, Chikita is worth a quick stop, but stick to the coffee menu! read more
Found this cute place by chance. What a gem! Located in Barrio Logan it has a little shop where they sell make up, Hello Kitty products, coffee mugs of characters, purses, stickers, hats and more. Their menu has a variety of choices. I ordered the Mexican Macciato Hot and the Iced Tres Lechea with sprinkle of Abuelita chocolate. Both drinks were amazing. So much flavor with every day. I love coffee and this place sis not disappoint. I can't wait to come back and try a new drink. The young women were super friendly and explained the ingredients in each drink I ordered. I came here to support my fellow LatinX community and I was not disappointed! The shop itself is so cute! They have a lot of knickknacks for sale and some delicious looking pastries and drinks. I got the Banana Caramel latter with oatmilk and cold foam. My husband got the Little Bunny Latte. Both drinks were iced. What I love most about this place is if you like STRONG expresso like I do, then you will love it here. You can definitely taste the coffee in the Banana latte. My husband's latte was definitely more on the sweeter side. It's definitely perfect for the couple where one likes sweet drinks and the other likes it more strong. The service was good. I was greeted right away and there was only 1 woman at the time (the other lady came right after I got my drink) and she was working so fast and hard and you could still taste the love and passion in the drinks. It is also dog friendly here and they gave my dog a pup cup! If you want to support small businesses and businesses that are owned by POC and women come and enjoy a coffee here! I love the pink! The inside had a ton of random oddities for sale. The counter to order is cluttered with more stuff to purchase. The menu has lots of options to choose from. The tres leches with abuelita cold foam was good, but not great. The cold foam could've used more of the abuelita flavor and the cold brew coffee could've used more of the tres leches flavor as well. I'd like to go back and try more drinks. The ladies behind the counter were really nice. read more

Chikita Cafe is such a girly and cute spot! I loved the fun vibe, and there's plenty of seating, which makes it perfect for a book club hangout, study session, or even a casual work meeting. When I came in there was only one barista that seemed she was doing everything there but she was very friendly and quick to make my beverage. I tried their seasonal Pumpkin Horchata Iced Coffee, and while I loved the idea, I wasn't too impressed with the flavor. To me, it just tasted like pumpkin syrup and horchata mixed together, without much actual coffee flavor. I like my drinks to have that balance of sweetness with the boldness of good coffee, and unfortunately this one was missing that. I'm definitely a tough critic when it comes to coffee because I appreciate quality beans, and I have a feeling they may not use the best here. That said, if you love sweeter, dessert-style drinks, instagram worthy, this would probably be right up your alley! I still highly recommend. read more

What a fun little spot, hidden in the barrio! Lots of fun pop culture shop trinkets, and unique menu of Latino inspired coffee flavors like horchata and mazapán. I tried the mazapán pumpkin and it was delicious. Definitely everything is on the sweeter side, so do be mindful of that if you're not into super sweet drinks. read more

The owner of Chikita Cafe on Newton Avenue brings in loyal and new customers everyday for her authentic Mazapan and horchata but also for advice and if she can't help she will point you in the direction of someone who can. All her drinks are based in Mexican culture and/or history. Everything she shakes up are her own recipes at Chikita Cafe and she makes her own cocoa powders. She also likes to support local. The coffee shop is filled with local vendors selling jewelry, sassy gifts and Mexican art. It's a mix of a local store, gift shop, coffee house. Very friendly and very helpful. There's seating outside. Hernandez, the 31-year-old mother of two is more than a barista, she's also everyone's friend. And she knows a thing or two about coffee. She started out as a barista at age 18 and one of the customers she served helped her brew up the idea of Chikitas inside the Barrio Logan building he owned at 1875 Newton Avenue. First off, the way that this establishment is set up, is perfect. The colors, flowers, everything goes well with their aesthetic. This place is not just another Instagram fad, their coffee is delicious. I had their cafe de olla cold brew with their cinnamon cold foam on top, best cold brew I have ever had. The owner is super friendly, and you'll find more than just coffee and drinks here, they have a whole store full of things to buy. read more

Decide to pass on Starbucks and stop here instead. And honestly I'm so glad I did! Celina, the owner is the absolute sweetest. Gansitos were always one of my favorite little snacks so of course, I picked the gansito frappe. It tasted just like a gansito but with coffee. Finally tried this place! I love their variety of drinks, they have something for every craving. I got an iced strawberry matcha with almond milk and my husband got the horchata cold brew. Excited to try more of their drinks. read more
No doubtedly five stars! I love the way she has her shop set up, the artwork and other things she has for sale are really neat! Everything at Chikita is worth the stop. I LOVE how she has cookies and treats from other small businesses. Very crafty, and delicious. I HIGHLY recommend the crepes she has in the cooler. I thought it would be delicious, but NOT LIKE THAT! SHEESH! Grab any coffee, it's worth it (I had the Abuelita Mocha, which I recommend). Support your local business, Chikita is worth it! read more
