Small and local spot in Barrio Logan. Love to support a small business. The inside has great art pieces showcasing the chicana community. Tried the horchata latte (only available in 16oz). The flavor was more on the bland side. It doesn't have a strong coffee or rice flavor. I was disappointed in the flavor but would possibly try other items in the menu. It can take a while to get your drink, but don't mind. Great customer service. Parking can be tricky due to area but cars move in and out at a good pace so don't have an issue unless you're there during an event.

They know how to make an amazing coffee! Flavor options are nostalgic. The baristas are sweet and helpful! This place has good energy to start your day with! Unapologetically cultured & a good way to Expresso yourself .. check out the Photo Booth! so much fun.

Por Vida is a nice, minimalistic little coffee spot in the heart of Barrio Logan on Logan Avenue. It's gone through several decorative changes in the past couple years, and is now a very simple shop with one row of small bench/chair seating with low round tabletops, plus a few shaded tables outside. The coffee quality has remained constant and good eve since I first came here several years ago. I like the Calle de Olla Latte, Por Vida, and cold brew the most out of the menu. Owner is a cool guy who's not super talkative always, which I think people mistake for coldness. It's not that! Also, there are rotating art exhibits shown here on the walls and they're always really unique and interesting. Overall it's a nice spot to grab a drink at while out and about in Barrio Logan.

Easy parking, fast service, well priced, lots of seating and aesthetically pleasing. need to try more drinks but the Mazapan was really good!

Por Vida Coffee is one of those spots we always make time for when we're in the area. The flavors are truly unique and thoughtfully crafted, you can tell a lot of care goes into both the drinks and the brand itself. Every visit feels intentional, from the details in the space to the creativity behind the menu. Our routine is simple: grab some coffee from Por Vida, and take a walk around the neighborhood, it's the perfect combo. The mazapán drink deserves a special shoutout... my friend ordered it twice in a row because it was that good. Definitely the vibe for cafecito and cultura .

Such an enchanting coffee haven that is nestled on Logan Avenue in San Diego. I Love the character of this place. Once you step inside and you'll be greeted by vibrant murals, warm aromas and a welcoming atmosphere that is perfect for both groups of friends and solo solitude seekers. The Mexican culture is instilled into every aspect of the cafe and speaks volumes to it's location As charming as the Café is it's also a fest for the senses offering a delightful array of specialty coffee drinks that break away from the mundane. They offer mixes such as Mexican Mocha to a refreshing Horchata Cold Brew. I Love the Dulce Leche Latte and the La Rosa but there are so many others that are delicious too. They also offer different milk options such as oat and almond creamer catering to all the taste buds. Making this a spot for all coffee lovers Service is top notch and genuine The barista's are always friendly If you're looking for an out of box experience that's both authentic and innovative Check this place out

Por Vida Latte, Whole Milk, Half Sweet. (brown sugar cinnamon)

It was around 10:35 am when I came in and there was already a handful of people there. The worker greeted me as I took a look at the menu. And there was one worker during the time I was there. He took orders and made the drinks, I think he did it in a timely manner considering it as just him. I didn't know how to pronounce the one that I wanted (Cafe de Olla) so I went with the Hot Por Vida Latte (Brown Sugar & Cinnamon), Half Sweet, with Whole Milk. This tasted great hot as it was super warming and not overly sweet. It was a great balance! It was $6, I believe. They take card and exact change -- if you pay with cash. He was able to do latte art, it was very pretty - although I didn't take a photo (mental image). Interior was clean and half the coffee shop was filled with food donations which was amazing to see! They have both interior and outdoor seating. You may have to wait a bit since there's only one worker, but the quality is great. I recommend asking for less sweet.

I visited Por Vida Coffee in San Diego today and had a great experience. The shop has a unique and beautiful atmosphere, with lots of artwork that made the space feel creative and special. The coffee was a highlight. I ordered an iced "Por Vida," and it was smooth, slightly sweet, and really enjoyable. Parking was easy to find, which is always a plus. The staff were also friendly and polite, which made the visit even better.

OKKKKK been to this place before an I had forgotten until I stepped in yesterday during Chicano park day. BF ordered Por Vida Latte and I ordered the spicy Jamaica lemonade. The rim on my Jamaica had chamoy and Tajín and the drink itself was a 10/10. For sure coming back here to check out the photobooth !!!' I'm so bummed we didn't get to it because of a time crunch.

Very hip and cool coffee shop that offers a variety of Mexican inspired coffees, teas, and fruit drinks. The inside has very nice murals of Frida Khalo, Virgin Mary, and other Mexican inspired art. Very cool and very fitting for the location. There seems to be no street sign, but you can't miss it, since it's open concept vibe. We ordered the horchata coffee, not too sweet and just perfect with the flavors of horchata. Also ordered the Calle de Olla coffee and this one was our favorite, it had notes of orange, coffee and just so good. There was only one person ringing you up and making the drinks so depending on the day and time you might end up waiting a bit for your drinks. Will have to be back to try other coffees and drinks.

Terrible service horrible coffee racism sad to see it 2026? Unfortunately I asked for more coffee and they completely ruined it all I taste now is more milk than the coffee they carry

If you're walking around Barrio Logan, order yourself a Jamaica lemonade at Por Vida before getting tacos at Xicanitos. It was the best way I could've spent my Sunday afternoon I've also tried their Mazapan latte. In my opinion, it tasted more like a standard latte with mazapan pieces at the bottom. Still delicious, but other renditions of mazapan lattes I've tried offered more mazapan flavoring. If you don't mind the pieces at the bottom, I still recommend trying if you enjoy mazapan!

    Lizette C.

This place was extremely cute and definitely up my alley that's why I came in. The service was really good and attentive. I never had horchata like this and it tasted amazing. I'm sad it's 2 hours away from me but I'll definitely be back when im in the area

Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.

The menu featured various matcha tea drinks which seems to be all the rage right now. The same seating arrangement of the bar countertop and tables across from it was available if you wanted to hang out and chill. A sign behind the bar described the ceremonial grade matcha that was used with the region of origin and the flavors imparted to the powder. Five different matcha drinks were offered along with hot and cold coffees and lattes. The top three matcha choices were priced at $8 each. I chose the Ordinary Pleasure which was the first one. Pandan sticky rice milk and mango puree were added to the matcha and topped with a salted coconut foam. I wasn't a fan of the foam, but the matcha flavor was intense and contrasted by the fruity puree on the bottom of the cup. The baristas were very focused with measuring the exact amounts for each ingredient in the drinks they were preparing. The matcha quality seemed to be very good based on what I tasted so maybe it's why the price was $1 higher than what I have tried elsewhere.

I discovered this spot at a farmers market on a really hot day and the drinks looked refreshing to pass up. Also, at this farmers market, this was the popular booth on the block with loads of people ordering. COCONUT STRAWBERRY ($9) - this was the perfect drink on a hot day strolling a farmers market. It was semi-sweet and refreshing. 2/3 of the cup was a strawberry shake/slushy (no milk base) and then topped 1/3 of the cup with a light foamy coconut shake/foam. SO GOOD. It made me want to order another one but I hope to try a different one and get the same wow-experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Until the next review...

The barista mentioned that it is on the sweeter side. When this was mentioned I felt like it would be a good pairing because the Thai coffees that I am used to having are typically on the strong side. I also heard from another customer that the Thai coffee had a slight mocha taste to it which I thought was interesting. I'm indifferent to powdered taro milk teas, although this one in particular, I did not enjoy. It was thick and sludgy, with an undertone of medicine reminding me of pepto bismol. The color was lovely, but not the taste. I wouldn't order this particular drink again. The drink I chose was medium size and it was only $5.38 (or 5.83, I can't remember & I don't think I got a receipt) ish which I can appreciate! The top portion of the drink was the Thai coffee and I really did like the flavor. Next time I'll get a different drink for sure! My friend tried the Green Thai Tea for the first time and really enjoyed the flavor of it. It had a floral jasmine + vanilla taste, a little bit on the sweet side-- but refreshing and delicious. The prices are pretty good (coffee and milk teas) and they also have smoothies (which can be on the more expensive side $9-12). Water cup is free upon request. They also have only a handful of seatings, but it's a nice area to walk around. They have umbrellas as well, but they do need a heavier stand for windy days as I've witnessed it fall into a car several times. Other than that, I recommend checking out It's Cafe Thai in Barrio Logan!

The baristas are kind and efficient, and they remember my dogs which of course wins me over instantly. The location itself is super convenient: easily walkable, a fair amount of street parking, and easy access right off the highway. I also really appreciate that they have lots of outdoor seating and offer pup cups, so I feel comfortable stopping by with my dogs. I also love that they have a rewards program via Cash App/phone number/the credit card you use. It's especially convenient that this is all tracked digitally and automatically when you swipe your credit card. For drinks, I've ordered: The Champ (iced): 4/5 A very popular choice. I do enjoy this coffee and the honey flavor is lovely, but the cinnamon can be a bit strong for me. They use powdered cinnamon over the top, which from a texture standpoint isn't my favorite. I do find the cinnamon is less overpowering when this drink is ordered hot instead of iced. Salted Maple Latte (iced): 5/5 This is my go-to. Delicious, strong coffee without being bitter and very well balanced overall. The maple flavor doesn't jump out in an obvious way, but adds a subtle sweetness that isn't overly sweet or sharp. Interestingly, I think the 16oz is better balanced than the 12oz in terms of coffee/milk/maple ratios. Pumpkin Spiced Latte (hot): 3/5 I'm not the biggest pumpkin spice latte fan, so I wasn't expecting to love this. It does have a clear pumpkin spice flavor, but the texture coats the mouth a bit more than I prefer (likely from the pumpkin), which is part of why this isn't my favorite. For food, I've ordered: Vegan Donuts: 5/5 I thought these used to be made by a sister company of Dark Horse, but I believe they're now sourced from Nomad Donuts. They usually have 1-2 rotating flavors each day, and since the main difference is the glaze on top, you really can't go wrong with any flavor you get. The texture is closer to a cake donut. Super tasty and not too sweet. Almond Cake: 5/5 Delicious and decadent. Very light, sweet, and crumbly. This isn't something I'd get regularly since it's just a bit too sweet for me without feeling like dessert, but it's undeniably tasty. To summarize, this is a consistently solid location with great service, excellent drinks, and small bites that pair perfectly with your favorite cup of joe. This is my go-to neighborhood coffee stop.

We found parking on the street, no paying needed. They also have a bathroom, which is nice, but most people don't ask for the key (since it's essentially open, only locked when in use). The door is frosted and you can see the outline of someone as they stand near it. I think it could be a little more frosty! There were a lot of workers the day I went and they were nice. The prices were good for specialty lattes and the guy informed us that both sizes use the same amount of shots (2), the only difference is quantity of milk! I got a classic, $6, 12 oz Iced Salted Maple (S'Maple) Latte. It was good, but I wouldn't mind if the salted maple was more flavorful. It's quite subtle! The outdoor space is really great for meet ups with large groups of family/friends/work. I think this location is really lovely and would recommend people to come check it out!
