This is a nice 7-11. The coffee island was in good condition, except for a small spill on the counter that needed cleaning up. Good coffee by the way, especially the Brazilian. Yes, I had a couple of samples. The store was well organized and stocked and they also carry some pretty decent wines. Beware of the honesty of this store. The posted prices are not necessarily what they charge you when you get to the counter. Tonight was at least the third time that I bought a product that was one dollar more or 20% more than the posted price. This location is convenient. Parking is a little crazy though, lots of business for a small parking lot. They've got a DJ on Friday's lately. Lots of homeless in the area in the early morning and evening along the sides of the building. There was only one time I had an issue with someone following me down the street trying to chat me up/asking me if I loved him....anyway... They've got new machines! They have freshly brewed coffee and freshly ground espresso machines now. The iced latte was pretty good, it even gives you the option of an add shot. It was done pretty quickly as well and had a nice foam on top. I will have to mention that I did try to go back on a different morning and the machine was out of milk. I didn't have time to wait the 15 minutes it would take to refill so I skipped. Their cold brew was really bitter, I had to dump it out after I got to work. Def not my thing. Seem like they get busy or short on the cold foods because it was almost empty but that was okay because i just came for some sweets and a fountain drink. A few days ago, it was July 11th... or more accurately, 7-11. Which means one thing: FREE SMALL SLURPEE DAY! Normally when this occurs, instead of going to the 7-Eleven location near my place (which usually runs out by the time I'm out of the office), I head to this one on the way home from work. This location is actually well-stocked, clean, and a bit more spacious than the one I frequent. On this occasion, I was also feeling a bit hungry, so in addition to my free small Slurpee - sugar-free mango flavor - I also bought a 1/3 lb. Big Bite hot dog for a buck (they were on special that day as well), and an order of their Doritos Loaded for about $1.99. The Doritos Loaded are essentially fried nacho cheese bites with a crispy Nacho Cheese Doritos coating - not too bad, and I had about 5 in my box. (I ended giving the hot dog to my brother, seeing how the Doritos Loaded ended up filling me up.) The one star off is for the parking. Seriously, it is VERY cramped... how I was able to get out of the parking lot unscathed was a miracle. Overall, not a bad place to get some quick snacks if in the area. read more

I deliver food once a while from here as grubhub/DD, and it's pretty cool to pick up your groceries and liquor from here. But the dude on staff probably wouldn't treat your goods with as much care as the driver. What I witnessed is cross contamination between picking up food, your cigarettes, money, handling slushy's and then dropping your 20 pack beer right before handing off this delivery to me. It's kind of funny but I decided not to accept the delivery as this guy did not have the training to deal with food delivery drivers. It's not a restaurant job so I give them some slack, but I'd be concerned with what you're getting when you have the one guy pissed off at the world as they pack your groceries. read more

I came here at around 1:00 PM today to buy an elderly homeless man food and water. The homeless man ordered rolled tacos, grabbed a water, and I paid with my credit card, everything going smoothly. As we were walking out, the homeless man asked "Can I get some napkins?" (a perfectly valid request after having just purchased rolled tacos). To my shock, the owner's response was, and I quote, "No, get the fuck out of my store!". The owner then turned to me and said "This man is always out there begging, he probably has more money than you!", to which the homeless man (rightfully) responded "Man, fuck you!". The two yelled at each other, and eventually, the homeless man left the store, at which point the store owner yelled a final insult: "Go suck your mother's dick!". First, this entire interaction was entirely the store owner's fault. Clearly the owner has seen this homeless man in the past, but regardless of any past interactions, I bear witness that, in this specific interaction, the homeless man was polite during the entire transaction, and as a paying customer, he was entitled to a napkin. The owner's response of "No, get the fuck out of my store!" was absolutely unwarranted and extremely unprofessional. Second, and this is directed straight to the store owner: work on your insults. The insult "Suck your mother's dick!" is not only EXTREMELY unprofessional to be coming out of a store owner's mouth while there are multiple customers in the store, but it's not even anatomically accurate. I have no idea why the store owner started a completely unwarranted fight with the homeless man in response to such a reasonable request, but based on this interaction, in my opinion, the store owner is an absolutely horrible man. I will never set foot in this store again, as I firmly believe horrible people should not be supported, and I strongly implore anybody else to also not support this horrible person's business, especially with so many other affordable food/drink options in close proximity to this store. If you ever walk into this store, I hope the words "Suck your mother's dick!" echo in your mind, and remember that you are supporting somebody who yelled this at an elderly homeless man who wanted napkins after buying rolled tacos and a bottle of water. read more

This is a great 7-11. This location is very close to where I work so it's very convenient. The store is always clean, well stocked and the employees are very friendly. The employees are also efficient so the lines move quickly, even when the line is to the back of the store. I have never had any problems with certain beverages not being available at the drink fountain and they always have food ready at lunch time for a quick bite. Convenient and cheap junk food! I've always been a fan of 7-11 since I was a kid! I used to be obsessed with slurpees before boba came along. I go to this 7-11 often for snacks and Redox. Google a coupon code to get your Redbox rental for free! I always do this and it's awesome. I usually get their slurpees or big gulp sodas with jalapeno cream cheese taquitos, nachos with their self-serve nacho cheese and chili! It's all good food to pig out too! Near NU Library - walking distance I am a student at National University and spend days at the library. You can bring in covered drinks meaning coffee and water are a must bring. Starbucks and Coffee Bean and nice and wallet depleting. This 7Eleven has decent coffees - several choices with ALL the fixins available. They have all the flavored creamers - plus reg 1/2 n 1/2 and milk - and additives like syrups, whipped cream and cinnamon shakers. Coffee is MUCH cheaper here - and at this store - ALL the employees have been really friendly and downright chipper. That's unusual. I'm stoked with this place as my supplier of much needed study coffee. =) read more

I will not spend another penny at this 7-eleven. I went in for a 20 pound bag of ice which they have no sign up for the price by the way. Got the bag and walked to the register. 5.99 plus tax. One: are you freaking serious on that price? The 7-eleven in city heights on fairmount charges 2.99 to 3.99 cant rmember which. Two: they also tried charging tax, ice is technically a food item and its not hot so a tax doesnt apply to it. They are actually trying to rip you off. So I went up the street to Zion Market. Guess what 2.99 for a 20 lb bag of ice no tax because once again its technically a food item. The owner should be ashamed trying to charge, with tax included, over 6 dollars for a 20 pound bag of ice. To top it off the ice box at zion is smaller than this 7-elevens ice box so you cant throw the oh we cant hold as much crap at me. It is even the same brand of ice. read more

This is my go-to store during breaks! My work location is down the street, so I always take a quick walk and stop by here for snacks and drinks. The employees are very welcoming and friendly, and always greet you as you walk in. The store itself is clean, well-supplied, and has good deals on their products. I always purchase their Quest Bars and Rockstars, since there is almost always a deal on them. Some negative aspects - the store is a bit small, so when there is a line, it takes up a whole aisle. Well where to begin...I've been coming to this store for almost 2 years about once or twice a week. This morning around 740am the older foreign man accused me of not paying for my drinks and candy the "other day" "hey man your card didn't go through" is what I was greeted with. When you discover you have been cheated and charged for someone else's sandwich drive back to the store after your shift to be rudely dismissed by the cashier and told not their problem come back when the owner is there. After explaining you are not going to be in the area for several days and won't be spending $14 in gas to be refunded $5.49 for the sandwich I didn't purchase I was waved off. This is not the first time I have been cheated there but I was never treated so poorly. So this will be the last time. I like stopping here in the mornings and getting coffee. I usually end up getting way too much coffee (the extra large is only $2.00!). They have 8-10 different types of coffees to choose from, with an assortment of creamers, sugars, and a whole bunch of other random sh*t that people put in coffee I guess? Like marshmallows lol 7-11 has an app now that works like a "punch card" and every 7th coffee is free! That's pretty cool. The staff is very friendly and efficient with the morning coffee rush. Great, central location in the Kearny Mesa area. They have a great selection of snacks and energy drinks compared to some other locations I've been to. The prices are pretty reasonable too. The parking situation sucks... the parking lot is small with cramped spaces. During lunch hours, it can be completely packed. The staff here is very friendly and personable... no complaints there. This is the cleanest and friendliest 7-11 I have ever been in. Beyond 7-11, it is actually the cleanest and friendliest convenience store I have ever been in. The staff is constantly cleaning and restocking but stops whatever they are doing to greet customers and attend to the register. The parking lot is a mess because of the volume of vehicles and design of the lot, but this is not a reflection of the store. I still come here because of the employees. read more

I went into this 7-11 around 6 pm this evening. I got some money from the ATM, and then was planning to get some junk food. I had been in this 7-11 previously and had never had a problem. The counter person came up to me and rudely told me to put my "luggage" up front. My "luggage" was a backpack I have previously worn inside the store without incident. You need to do something about the aggressive people asking for donations. Teen Challenge blocked my entrance in the past. Today ChildHelp men totally harassed me. All I wanted was to go in and get a soda. They were in front of the store, yelling at me for a donation from the minute I got out of my car. I ignored them. They caught me on the way out. Would not let up. I went to the restaurant next door, was reading the outside menu. All the while, they are yelling, "Don't you want to help children?" Then they repeated, "Have a nice lunch" over and over. It's just harassment. I'll be avoiding your store when you have donation seekers outside. read more

I rarely if ever provide 5 stars anywhere but oddly enough 7-11 earns it every time I visit! I frequent this location since it is near my place of employment and I am a slurpee freak. This location does not skip a beat in terms of customer service and cleanliness. Their products are always well stocked, reasonably priced and readily available. Unlike many 7-11 locations, you will not find a sticky floor here. Every customer is greeted with a smile and a welcoming "hello, how's it going" or some other kind words. Many customers are greeted by name. To be specific, Geraldo is my favorite employee. I don't know if he is an owner or manager but if he isn't, his manager ought to be happy to have him to represent his business and the 7-11 brand. Geraldo is a happy guy who always offers a snack, slice of pizza, etc. This location sets the bar high for other convenience stores in my book. Customer service in those settings can be hard to come by. But one would think that the employees at this location were trained in the customer experience at a 5 star restaurant or resort.
