Took a minute for for any of the 8-10 employees to acknowledge us after we walked in and we waited at the register to place an order. Even though multiple employees walked right past us without saying anything. When we finally were helped w/ received it with a side of attitude. Got my drink, only for it to be something completely different (more expensive) from what I ordered. Asked for a few napkins which we could see right next to the barista for him to tell us they're over by the door. Guess everyone working this morning woke up on the wrong side of the bed. read more

Listen everyone is nice. I've only been through the drive through. So nice. Always comment on my dogs. But the inconsistency in drinks is crazy. I always order mango dragon fruit lemonade. So times it looks like the picture some times it looks like straight up lemonade. read more

Love this location! Why you may ask? Close to work and friendly customer service every time I venture here! Lines are rarely long if you come early in the morning. This Starbucks Drive-Thru is convenient and honestly I have been coming here on repeat due to my unused Starbucks gift cards. This caffeine jungle was calling my name especially on much needed days I need a pick-me-up. There is plenty of parking, but I ain't got time for, ya know, walking. I haven't gone inside yet, but if I do, stay tuned for a sequel. Customer service gets a shoutout for friendly baristas and positive welcoming greetings. I get my usual Venti iced Cafe Americano with a splash of oat milk and 3 shots shots shots of chai tea because I like my caffeine to whisper sweet nothings and then slap me awake! Located on 5698 Mission Center road, San Diego, CA 92108. This location is extremely busy after 7am until the evening. It's near a lot of other businesses such as Ralph's, a dry cleaner, The UPS store, Chase bank, CVS, Subway, Mr.Moto etc. There is plenty of free parking. I usually do app order and drive through. Customer service is great. My mocha hot latte is a hit or miss here; not sure why lol. Sometimes my drink tastes like it's missing something. Other than that; food is decent. This is my go-to Starbucks. It's so convenient with the drive-through because we are always in the neighborhood. My favorite thing about Starbucks is all of the fun cake pops. They have decorated differently every season. So happy that their winter drinks are out now. I highly recommend the peppermint mocha. Parking is a little tricky at this location, but you can always find a spot in the Ralph's parking lot if need be. read more

Wow, this Starbucks is absolutely beautiful. It's honestly one of the biggest and most stunning lobbies I've ever seen. I actually traveled just to visit this location because I'd heard so many great things and couldn't wait to experience it for myself. I was even excited to capture some content of the gorgeous setup, but unfortunately, my experience with Lark really changed the tone of my visit. When I asked for two cups of ice, Lark told me I needed to make a purchase first. I was happy to do so, but after I paid, he didn't say a single word. He just walked away without handing me my receipt, leaving me standing there at the register until another partner noticed I was waiting. His energy felt cold and unwelcoming, and instead of offering even a simple thank you or acknowledgment, he carried on as if I wasn't there. What really disappointed me was that the entire interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and honestly rude. There was laughter during the order that didn't feel friendly--it felt like we were being laughed at, not with. As someone who used to be a Starbucks barista, I know what great service and genuine connection look like, and this wasn't it. I've always loved Starbucks for its warmth, consistency, and community feel. I'm a loyal customer and tumbler collector, and visiting new stores is something I truly enjoy. But this visit made me feel unwelcome in a place that's supposed to feel like a little home away from home. I left feeling disappointed and bummed that I didn't even feel comfortable staying to enjoy the beautiful space I'd come to see. I spend a lot of time at this Starbucks and have done so since its opening at the current location. About 1 year ago I noticed a significant shift in the culture with a dramatic increase in the quality of friendly and professional service provided the customer. The restaurant environment is superb; spacious, comfortable and accommodating to high volume production in a speedy manner. To which I give credit to Mike, the store manager and Alexis, a Shift manager whom I often encounter at the register. I was motivated to provide this provided to write this review due to my consistent friendly exchanges and engaging contact with the baristas. I accidentally placed a mobile order at the wrong store tonight and I asked the supervisor if it would be possible to be remade here. The only item on the order was a black iced tea. The supervisor said she would have to re-charge me and wouldn't remake the mobile order. It was a shame since I was already all set up with my laptop in the cafe. I understand it was my mistake but I don't see how it was a huge issue to remake my one tea. Definitely not revisiting this location!!! read more

I've been coming to this location for about 3 years sometimes daily. Recently I've had really unpleasant encounters with the manager Rachel. She had flat out lied to me about company policy and during one of my visits I sat down with a piece of merchandise I planned to purchase after I drank my coffee. I set it on the table out in the open. I did not go anywhere near the exit with it. She approached me and informed me she would need to hold it at the register just "in case I chose to steel it" I've worked in retail mgmt for over 10 years and we were NEVER allowed to accuse someone of steeling! I'm considering hiring an attorney because what she did was slanderous! I will reconsider the amount of business I give Starbucks! read more

Tried out this Starbucks location for the first time since they've moved over to where Burger King used to be & they now have a drive through! Got through fairly quickly with friendly customer service. My sandwiches were piping hot . Tried out the caramel ribbon crunch frappe & it was so good! Fast paced. This location is nice. It is pretty clean and easy to find. I never have issues with parking in this shopping center. I had to meet up with some classmates here, to study for a final. I was able to find a table for us, but with the size of this place, I wish there was more seating. With the size of this location, I would expect more seating. Maybe it relates to social distancing, or they want it to have a more spacious feel? I'm not sure what it is really, but I do feel that they could probably add a few more tables. When this was a Burger King, I feel as if it had way more seating then it does as a Starbucks. I also wish there were more outlets. The bigger table we sat at had outlets in the table, but other tables didn't have any outlets close by. Atmosphere was good. We were able to study here for several hours. It was not overly noisy and music level was fine. Aside from those issues, this is a nice location. The staff is friendly and drinks come out quickly and taste as they should. This place only gets worse and worse everytime I go. Poor customer service from some, not all. The employees are just talking and talking , so they take forever to make your drink. And the new water policy is ridiculous! Purchase inside but try to get a water from the drive thru within seconds? They say no. Wow. Disappointed in this place. read more

Came here this morning and it was BUSY. The drive through line was long so we went inside. We ordered our drinks but this time it took awhile because they were so busy. BUT the baristas did the best they could and when they gave you your drinks they were very nice and polite. Thank you Starbucks baristas for your hard work and for great customer service!! This is your typical neighborhood starbucks, but wait...what makes it different is that it is right next to CIVITA and the business district of mission valley, so be warned...you will need to wait. The baristas are literally working their butt of during the whole shift. The only time I saw this place slow down was right before closing. The cars are back up throughout the drive thru, the pick up orders are laid out covering majority of the table and the line to order is long. However; even for being so busy they are always accommodating and willing to slow down to make sure your order is correct. The food and ambiance is similar to any starbucks, but you can tell a lot of the neighborhood frequent this location. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would be back for my shaken oat latte! Whenever I am in San Diego, I frequent this Starbucks. On this trip I went five days in a row and every time the staff was warm and friendly and efficient. Food was great. On one visit I had to wait an extra minute for coffee to be brewed, and Michael brought it out to my table. So nice! My partner and I get Venti ceramic mugs for here and enjoy making this our go-to spot to start our San Diego mornings. read more

I have been to this location a couple of times, always for pickup and this was my first time ordering inside. This location is spacious yet busy. It seems allt of the patrons today had little to no respect for others, as music was blasting from laptops, loud videos being watched... I get it, free wi-fi but there needs to be some respect for others. The staff was friendly and busy making drive-thru orders and mobile orders. I was getting my free birthday drink and the barista who made it placed it in trenta cup because the banana expands, that was really nice as most others throw away the rest... I mean technically it's paid for ‍ The wait wasn't too long and I was on my way. Leaving is a hassle especially because you are trying to merge across traffic with drive thru customers coming at you as well. read more

Been through here so many times since it's right down the street from my work. The team is friendly and quick with getting drinks out. Minor concern is that since they get so busy, they run out of some food items fairly early in the day. Decent amount of space with tables, lounge areas to sit. We always order an ice shaken espresso and well... it always comes shaken already. She told us today that they can't shake it and that's it comes with all the espresso at the bottom. I went through the drive thru and ordered a Venti Iced Upside down Caramel Macchiato with extra drizzle and the young lady in the drive through was so nice, friendly, asked if I wanted anything to eat which I did I got the tomatoe mozzarella also. When I got to the window turned out her name was Nye and she had a beautiful smile. She was courteous and respectable and asked me how my day was. we had a small chit chat and she gave me my drink and my food. And I was on my way. I will return to this locations. Placed my order at 3:04pm, app said it would be ready by 3:06-3:10pm. Someone I know placed their order after me and got their drink before me. I was asked what was my drink so I told him and he was barely going to make it (this was around 3:15) I needed to get back to work already so asked for a refund and was refused because "he was already making it". It was a grande dragon drink , it didn't have any dragonfruit in it and it tastes like pure coconut milk and water. Waste of money. Elise is very rude, unprofessional and does not have any decorum. She lacks customer service skills and is extremely immature. I politely asked for an item that they keep behind the counter and she threw it down on the dirty sticky counter as I held my hand out, as if she was irritated that I asked for the item. When I informed the manager of Elise's actions she acted as she did not care. They were not even busy at the time of my visit but even if they were, you should not treat customers as if they are beneath you or become annoyed when a question is asked. As I attempted to explain the situation to the manager, Elise began to laugh. For the most part, the other baristas that I have encountered have been nice and provided good customer service but Elise is one of those workers why people don't tip. I understand that we are all human and working at Starbucks is not an easy task, but if you don't like your career path and take it out on customers who are being polite and considerate of you, simply quit! When I informed my coworker of the matter she expressed that Elise was the same person who got an attitude with her when my coworker was asking if a certain cup had her name on it because she is partially blind. Elise said "The names are on there!" with a terrible attitude and my coworker had to explain that she is partially blind and just wanted to make sure she did not touch the wrong cup out of courtesy. Elise is not a good fit for this location because everyone else has always been extremely nice and the barista Elise brings the store and the atmosphere down. I won't be going back to this location simply because I do not trust Elise to ever touch anything I order. She seems like the type of person that would do something to your food or beverage because she is spiteful. read more
