I haven't seen any unsavory characters hanging out here, but I usually go early in the morning, like 7 am or when it's light outside. This place is convenient and the gas is cheaper than other stations, so it suits me just fine.

She was rude to begin with but considering the staff here usually carries that trait, it wasn't a huge deal. HOWEVER, I forgot something after I walked to my car and when I entered the gas station again Allie was nowhere in plain sight. She was the only person working so I announced myself. And nothing....I stood for nearly 5 minutes before I repeated my previous, 'HELLO' and she came dragging her feet from the office. Which has a transparent window as well as a camera so I'm unsure of why she didn't see me; but without an apology she grabs the swisher pack I asked for. Seeing she didn't even grab the pack I asked for I corrected her and went to get my ID which I left in my car. When I returned I set my ID on the counter and she proclaimed, 'You don't have to throw things at me' I told her if she paid closer attention to her customers maybe she wouldn't receive negative attitudes. She replied, 'I did pay attention but for sure- goodnight' And I left. this woman made my blood boil. It's not my fault you work at a gas station for apparently, FOUR YEARS, and you haven't mastered the art of acting appropriately. I used to like this place but fuck that.

Gas is priced .75 to sometimes 1.00 MORE THAN the competitors (and again, there is one 40 feet across the street at a traffic light)! See my photo of the regular unleaded gas priced at 3.75 (yes it SAYS 3.75), when the going price for a gallon of 87 octane ranges at about 2.80 right now. The ONLY way you get the gas at the "going rate" is if you purchase a car wash, which is probably another $7 out of your pocket. The sign at first glance is also misleading, which could be the reason a few cars do go in here and then figure out the reality once their gas is pumping.. There is literally NO reason whatsoever to go to this gas station, unless your car were to run out of gas just as you would make a turn into here. There is also a gas station and food mart directly across the street, and this both are situated at a 4-way traffic light. Again, unless somebody is a real idiot, there is no reason to go here. How this guy stays in business I have no clue...

Heading further in, you'll find the ordering counter, and you can even catch a glimpse of coffee beans being roasted, which adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. They offer both a seasonal menu and a straightforward regular menu, making it easy to find something you like. Overall, the environment felt calm and laid-back. The staff were more on the quiet side personally, I'm used to more outgoing baristas, but that's just a matter of preference.

The building looks like it was converted from a church, and the back seating area has some high stained glass windows. In the middle of the cafe is a narrow hallway/corridor where the supply closet and the single stall bathroom is, so it segments the cafe into two areas, connected by this hallway in the center. The design feels very clearly like a remnant of an old historic building, and a brick alleyway runs along one side. In the space/room where you order (walking through the seating area and through the hallway), it opens up with huge windows and a huge industrial coffee grinder on full display. There's another counter to order, with a few pastry options, and along another side wall, a rack of F&H clothes for purchase and the drink menus. (The aesthetic reminded me of Blue Bottle.) I ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oak milk and it was good! I couldn't taste any whiskey at all, and when I ordered the barista had mentioned this (cooked off so you wouldn't taste it) so it was a decent vanilla latte. I'll give them props for a really cool unique flavor. We all grabbed our drinks and headed (back through the hallway) into the other room with the seating area. There is a small section with a couch, otherwise lots of tables and chairs and I was glad it wasn't too crowded so we were able to grab a table. This was a great spot to grab coffee and meet up with friends. It's in a neat little downtown area in Wheaton, and they offer creative coffee drinks, with beans and merch to purchase.
