The bartender was incredibly friendly and offered a lot of advice and his opinions on several of the bourbons. The more we talked to him, it seemed that he didn't quite know his bourbons, which is fine, because you need to start somewhere, but he also didn't seem to have his cocktail skills perfected either. Unfortunately, their website did not match what was currently being offered. I was excited to try one of their seasonal cocktails butt was told it was not available as that was the previous month's availability. I decided to go with an old fashioned instead but was sorely disappointed as it just fell flat and didn't seem to be in the bartenders wheelhouse. My boyfriend tried a cocktail as well but experienced the same letdown. We had read great reviews on Goodfellows pizzaria and did place an order but will review that thru the pizzeria itself. While the bar itself has the potential to offer a fun vibe and could entice you back for more, that was not what we experienced and will probably not return any time soon.

Oh yeah - the rancid beer that my friend was served was epic and apparently they (Wiseguys) were selling regular Blantons as "barrel picks" and upcharging them.

Staff were friendly and informative. The stills are the oldest continuously operated pot stills in the country and they are right in the tasting room. I stopped at party source to get a 6 pack of my favorite drinks, and was like "hey I'll go get a drink from the bar since for once I don't have all 3 of my kids". I walked into Merchant's Club and sat down at the bar by myself (there was a couple to my left and then a single man to my right, they were not busy at all) Neither bar tender gave me the time of day, even after I said hi when I was sitting down. Finally the tall guy bartender with bleached hair asked me what he could get me (he seemed annoyed that I interrupted him cleaning beer glasses and shot glasses), and I said "can I please get a pickle back?" He said, "we don't have pickle juice." I said "okay that's fine, do you have olive juice?" He said, "yes", and I said, "okay that's fine I will take olive juice in place of pickle juice." He then proceeded to give me a shot of olive juice and went back to cleaning his glasses. I said, kindly, "and the Jameson?" And he responded, "Well you didn't say that." To which I responded "That's what a pickle back is, Jameson with a shot of pickle juice." This entire encounter, I kid you not, was 5 minutes to under 10 mins. I don't care that someone doesn't know what a pickle back is. That's the least concerning thing. The worst part was the aura and vibe both of the bartenders gave me from the minute I walked in to the minute I left. Zero personality (besides seeming like they both hated their jobs) zero consideration, ZERO customer service skills. I know sometimes people are having a bad day. I get it. If you're in such a bad mood that you're not going to be able to do your job, which is literally #1 just be kind and hospitable to people, then call off. He apologized over and over and I told him not to apologize, it's not his fault, and to just please relay my complaint to someone that works directly with those bartenders. The worker right outside of the bar was very kind and receptive. I didn't catch the names of the 2 bartenders working when I was there but here's a brief description: the male was white, pretty tall, bleached hair, skinny. The girl was also white with brown hair, medium length, and came up to the guy bartender's shoulder (maybe) in regard to height. I was there on Friday, 9/18 just before 9pm.
