So I went to this restaurant for the first time last night and was SO impressed! It's not ridiculously priced and the food was AMAZING. Let me clarify that...the Grilled Beef Tenderloin was AMAZING. It literally felt like it melted in my mouth as I was chewing it. Serious eye rolling action going on at my table as I never wanted the meal to finish. It made it well worth the $32 price tag. Also tasted the Chop Chop Salad and although it looked basic, it was packed with taste due to the salad dressing with a kick. This place was good enough to prompt me to make my first Yelp review! It is hidden and my Waze was all sorts of confused because I didn't know ahead of time that it was in a hotel. But I'd go back in a heartbeat! *** I had a waitress named Ariel and she made the experience that much better. She was very attentive and made the best suggestions. Because of how empty the place was on a Monday night, we had a chance to get to know her better. Very rare to get food at this caliber with such friendly service. read more

Yelp helped me find this place hidden to the casual restaurant goer for the main reason that it is inside a hotel tucked in the corner of a mall shopping center. The restaurant is on the left when you walk inside the hotel and has a great casual, laid-back atmosphere to it that I loved. There was even a double sided fire wall behind glass with tables on either side that seemed like the best seat in the house which would have been perfect for me, alas it was taken by some older folks whom ended up sitting there all night, aw well, we opted for a seat by the window. From there on out, everything seemed to be just standard...not life changing, not poor. The service was ok, I won't get into it because I don't like rating places on service. I ordered the Orange Line drink because I wanted to pay homage to my morning commute! I will say I have never had a cocktail quite like this because there was actual tea in it and being a big tea fan, I have never had alcohol with my tea. Interesting take on a drink, not sure how I felt about it but glad I tried it! The baked goat cheese appetizer came with a giant scoop of cheese that was on top of a crusty piece of break in a nest of garlic and oil. To house it was a small loaf of bread which ended up being eaten using the cheese and we still had about half a ball of cheese left when we were done. Normally it is the other way around with dips and bread/chips with the dip going first at other restaurants so I am not complaining, but these ratios may benefit if they were more even. I know this is boring but I really wanted a burger that night so I opted for that and it tasted like...well a normal burger, not to much to say about it. The homemade pickles on the side were a nice added touch. I am willing to give this place another shot since I live about 3 min away from here and also because it gets great reviews and the other food looks very NOM, until then, I give it 3/5. read more

Absolutely great service. Had a very young waiter who was just EXCELLENT. He recommend some dishes (Sea Scallops, 12oz Rib eye steak, an a unique Lamb soup) and we had to try them. The FOOD WAS OVER THE TOP great in flavor. The soups should of been warmer. But the dishes was excellent. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but definitely worth the price. Ordered lobster rolls and wings to-go and when I opened the containers I was very surprised at how little lobster meat was on the sandwich- completely different from the first time I ordered their rolls. There was a lot more fillers and less lobster meat and the bread even looked smaller. The wings were also a huge disappointment! It was overtly charred and just inedible! Bleck, had to throw it out! A spacious, quiet dining space inside the Marriott at Fair Oaks makes for a nice lunch (especially good when dining with older folks who want peace, quiet, and quality). The crab roll was overstuffed with tender crab and the crab soup was creamy and rich. Both a bit under spiced, but a plus in my book compared to the restaurants that cover up poor food prep with tons of sauces. Service is outstanding! Price is good and even better with the Yelp 20% off. Parking is a snap so worth a shot after a shop at Fair Oaks or when traffic is bad on 50. read more

We got appetizers of flatbread and crab dip which were solid but the entrees of tsea bass with lobster mac and cheese and beef tenderloin were the standouts. We decided to give 703 a try because we had a resturatnt.com gift certificate. It was a bit drive for us, but it was well worth it. The restaurant is in the hotel, but because its unique décor you don't know you are in the hotel. It was very cold outside so we certainly appreciated the fireplace! Food was amazing. I had one of the best risottos ever. My husband's soup, chowder was simply amazing. His steak was as delicious. Kids enjoyed their version of grown up dishes. The waiting staff was cordial and very friendly, though slow at times. We didn't care though since we were not in a rush to get anywhere. Overall a very nice experience. We will be back. read more

Love the lobster roll! Perfect to share as it comes with 2. Very lightly dressed and not mayonnaisey. Only disappointment was they were out of mussels. Flatbread was a great appetizer for our party of 7. Love the dessert shooters too. Perfect size after a big meal. The food and drinks here were REALLY good - the fried chicken, the pork croquettes, all the desserts were all amazing. The cocktails were creative and strong. However. When the reviews state that this place is "inside the hotel", I had assumed that the restaurant would be a fully-enclosed space separate from the hotel itself. No. This hotel is one of those "large atrium with rooms all along the sides" formats, and a big chunk of the seating (and the only area they were seating people in the night we went) is actually in the hotel atrium, with only a mostly-open metal grating between you and the tour bus teenagers running around in bare feet. The place was also nearly empty when we arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday night. The food was good, the service was great, but the location took so much away from the overall experience that we won't be back. read more

An unexpected surprise. Finding great food in a hotel restaurant is unusual. House smoked bacon with maple donuts and onion jam Great drinks. My wife had House version of hoppin John. Never had hoppin John so not sure what to compare it to but tasted terrific. I had smoked pork shank with greens and black beans with side of terrific okra. We loved this place. We decided to try something new and a little bit nicer for date night than we usually do and we were pleasantly surprised by 703. The booths were way more comfortable than any other restaurant we have ever been in and the food was fantastic. The Yohanan Farm Roasted Chicken was great. It was served with the best tater tots I've ever eaten and perfectly cooked broccolini. My husband had Chef Peter's Buttermilk Fried Chicken which was also great. They drizzled the honey on top of the chicken and thought it would be better on the corn cakes instead. The whole meal was great and the waiter was attentive. Went to this place jut for something different. Maybe friend and I just wasn't to have some drinks and appetizer to catch up since spouses out of town. The only reason I have a 1 Star is due to it was after all 2/14 so I gave them 1 though it should be 0. First we made a reservation and we were literally 1 of 3 other table seated. From the time we got there it seemed like we were a bother. I could literally go on and on about all the things that went wrong but number one issue is that we literally sat for 1!hr and was never checked on, asked if we needed anything. There no one in sight except the hostess so every time we needed anything we had to go to her and ask and she would have to her the manager which I guess was also server. It's not that we asked for anything special just our food after an hr of ordering and then needed utensils. I won't even go into the food which was way over priced and we would have been better off going to a fast food restaurant. I believe if you as a restaurant manager are going to accept reservations then you should at least plan for that maybe not everyone will want a 50.00 premade meal and they may want a drink with dinner. I believe there may have been 2 servers for the restaurant. Which I would have given them a break if we would have gotten at least one apology saying sorry we forgot about you, anything. But nope, nada, nothing just an eye roll or things thrown down in front of us with a immediate walk away to never be seen again. We wanted to leave but all other places had no reservations avail since I made this reservation 4 days in advance. I can tolerate a lot if your just nice. We were nice considering the awful service and treatment we got I just thought ok...I will just warn others about this place so they don't have to be frustrated as we were. read more

We especially liked the fried chicken, scallops, and the chicken fried steak as well as the maple old fashioned. Our server Hannah was wonderful! Indeed a hidden gem. This is a beautiful restaurant (super modern design) inside the Marriott hotel that serves amazing food. The presentation of the dishes is incredible. 703 bar + kitchen is tucked away in the Fair Oaks Mall Marriott Hotel. While not the easiest to find, it's worth the effort if only because the food is so well prepared. Shrimp is cooked to the point where it's just a touch beyond translucent, with the meat crisply snapping as you bite through. The seasoning is very nicely done and doesn't actually need to be dipped in the aioli sauce, which was the only disappointment of the evening. The sea bass was perfect, with tender white meat that had almost a buttery finish to it...and the crab cake was meaty, with very little filler, and resting atop a small pile of spinach and potatoes. The decor is modern, but understandably has a bar-feel to it given the high number of televisions that are hung on the walls. The staff is friendly and professional, with justified enthusiasm for the menu. Very flavorful, very well prepared food, and very well worth a try. read more

First and most importantly, the food here is amazing. It's delicious, interesting, and beautiful to look at. The food keeps me returning. I've loved everything I've tried. The service, on the other hand, gets those two stars knocked off. Everyone is as nice as can be, but you WILL wait for drinks, dirty dishes to be taken, and your food for quite some time. I've been for lunch several times and for a special occasion, and it was a similar experience every time I've been. The waitstaff will keep you guessing too, as they will seemingly "disappear" for long stretches of time, whether the restaurant is empty or there are other tables. We've had to go on a server hunt to pay and leave in the past. They say they are short-staffed, under-staffed, etc., every time we have been for over a year now. This seems like a very easy fix! We go here when we want an amazing lunch and we don't have plans for the afternoon. Again, I WILL keep returning as the food is worth the odd service, and with great service and management this restaurant can become a 5 star for me overnight. read more

I made a dinner reservation here for my husband and I for Valentine's Day (through Open Table). The confirmation email mentioned a "crafted romantic 3 courses Menu" for this night. It did not say it was mandatory that you get this special menu only and it did not say what it included. When we arrived, we commented that the place was decorated very nicely. We were seated at a small table that was very close to the next small table that already had a couple at it. It was too close for my comfort level. Then they tell us they have the special 3-course meal for $50 a person - it was a salad (with strawberries and goat cheese), a filet, and dessert and a bottle of wine. Again, when I made the reservation, it was mentioned they'd have a 3-course meal avail but didn't say what it was and that you HAD to get it, that the regular menu wouldn't be available. My husband doesn't like goat cheese and doesn't drink wine. It would not have been worth it for us. So we went to the nice bar area and ordered from the regular menu there! The food was good and we were able to order what we wanted. Overall, an ok experience. But it seems like the lack of communication about the 3-course menu was a total fail. And if we could order any regular menu item from the bar area, this option should have been given to us at the table. read more

We left after 20 minutes with no service! We made reservations for the Saturday night before Valentine's dinner. We were promptly seated and given menus. The restaurant was not full but in the 20 minutes that we waited for our waiter to return with water we barely saw any servers. The other patrons around us were not happy. One group was waiting for their check the entire time we were there. Another woman commented in jest that she wondered how long it would take to get a refill for her drink. We had paid for a babysitter and we're hoping for a nice evening out but we had to leave. We were not able to get reservations anywhere else and the wait was an hour long at any restaurants near by. Great place! Hidden in the Marriott is a wonderful spot for dinner and drinks. Cocktail menu has many interesting drinks. Dinner is small plates. We had broccoli salad, roasted beets salad, soft shell crab and striped bass. Everything was excellent. The salads were fantastic. We had the corn bread side which was delicious. Fantastic food. We had a great waiter too. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the ambiance is a bit odd. Smallish dining area with big booth seating. Lots of bar seating though which we'll try next time. I hosted my daughter's first birthday party at 703 bar + kitchen. Unconventional venue for a kid's party but it was perfect in every way. The adults loved the food and open bar while relaxing in the modern lounge. We all were able to watch our kids run around and play in the large carpeted atrium area. The food and service were what sold me on this place. Allison the event manager was incredible responsive, detail oriented, and professional. She did everything we requested and recommended ways to make the party fun for all ages in all aspects ranging from room layout, food display, decor etc. I could not be happier with how everything turned out. A month later, our guests are still talking about the truffle tater tots and crab dip. Bartender made our beverages perfectly. I now come here regularly during happy hour to for business meetings, grab a quick bite from the amazing Nosh menu and when the kid is asleep...Mommy comes here to get her drink on with girlfriends LOL. read more

With a 4 star review, I was expecting more. This place is in the Marriott at Fair Oaks. The ambience is very nice and the server was really nice, but the food was just meh. Maybe it's because we went for lunch. We had the baked goat cheese as a starter, and that was actually pretty good. But the entrees were pretty disappointing, especially for the price they were charging. My wife got a burger with 2 toppings ($12 for the burger and $2 for each topping) and asked for it medium. I got a flat iron steak salad and asked for medium as well. The burger was nothing special. My wife said she would have been more satisfied with a burger at Elevation burger. Definitely not worth the price. The steak in my salad was fully cooked and lukewarm when it came out. It just seemed like they weren't trying very hard and didn't take pride in the food they were putting out. We were hesitant to go when we found out it was in a hotel, and it was disappointing to find out we should have followed our gut. Verdict: Subpar to average food at an above average price. read more
