The food was decent overall. I ordered chix salad asked for light dressing it had so much dressing on it I could not eat It, little to no chicken to be found. The drinks were good. The service was good. My poor review is due to not only being over charged but we left after paying. I walked my daughter and baby to her car. Realized within a couple of minutes o had left my Tom Ford prescription glasses on the table. Literally ran back to get them. Table was cleared and I found the waitress she said a busier cleared the table. He was sitting at another table with friends and he Said he found nothing. Spoke with several people about finding them as I can not drive without them. The staff was very shady and no one found them. Something overall just seemed off about the whole experience there. Was very disappointed in last night's experience at this location. Coopers Hawk has been my go to fav for a while now. With family in town we decided to bring them to this location because they were staying in Virginia. Anyhoo- appreciated the fact this location was able to accommodate us because they are usually BOOKED & busy...especially on the weekends...Surprisingly walked in and the tasting room was empty....maybe that should've been my sign...lol We ordered appetizers which one never came and the others came out with our entrees... My fries were "old stale fries" that had been sitting & my husbands medallions were nothing like were used to ordering. His asparagus were mushy and his mashed potatoes were watery and very bland...even the medallions itself were not appealing to the eye...the entire meal just wasn't what it should've been. Our guest enjoyed his salmon. But we were really just disappointed with our food...maybe they were just having an off night... Definitely taking this location off my list for now! You really learn to appreciate some of the great service at Cooper's Hawk when you visit one who does not adhere to the standards that you're used to. After finally getting our bartender Amanda's attention, pulling her away from her friend she was talking to, we asked if she could clean off the bar in front of us because it was pretty dirty. With quite the attitude, she sprayed the water bottle across the bar, squirting water across us as well. Literally had to wipe my forehead with the napkin in my pocket. After a crazy hot day in Reston, Virginia, we settled in to order a white wine in hopes that the service would improve. 10 minutes later, we walked out I'm still not sure to this moment if she noticed yet. We have had nothing but wonderful service for 12 years at every Cooper's Hawk we've ever been to, so this was quite the shock. First time we've ever walked out of a bar without a drink after sitting down. It pains me to post this, but people need to know. read more

I was very impressed with how they accommodated gluten free dairy free needs. They have an entire menu dedicated to it, and the servers and kitchen are super patient and accommodating. Our salads were delicious/ meats cooked perfectly / ver well seasoned and delicious dairy free dressings. French fries hot crispy - tasty gluten free bread, and excellent service. It has a darker interior with dark wood tones and a moody steakhouse vibe which not always my favorite but I get the desire to have that winery feel. I feel lighter and brighter colors would have been nice as the interior rooms don't have windows so it feels a little constricted (for me at least)... they do have outdoor seating and that would be my choice ! That was a really lovely evening marred only by less-than-attentive service, and missed value. We felt like an afterthought to our server, and felt that we were waiting too long for small things - like refills, or just to see our server. Otherwise it was a lovely evening. The PBJ Old Fashioned was ok. I'm a big fan of Skrewball, and was surprised to see a drink using it. At the price point it was nice, but not as good as just a straight up double Skrewball. The sweet wine sidecar was .. unnecessary but a nice, very sweet - almost Sangria - after chase. The bread was interesting, and I can be quite critical of bread. From the photos I was worried this would be overly yeasty, like the pretzel it was emoting. Never the less I found it to be warm, and quite nice. Soft. The outer shell was more pretzel but the inside was more boulle. The egg rolls were delicious but the show stopper was the Cashew Dipping Sauce. Holy wow was that good. Sweet and a little tangy. Not at all what I was expecting, and I wish I had ordered MORE of that for EVERYTHING. The main dish was the Parmesan crusted mahi mahi. Very delicious. I hate broccoli, but whatever that was that looked like anorexic broccoli, it was good. Quite good, reminding me more of the taste of asparagus. The whipped mashed potatoes were just mashed potatoes, nothing remarkable, and not really much remarkable about the dish itself, it was just good. Well prepared. Nothing unique or surprising, just good. Happy. I really had a good time and it was a good date. The alcohol and food selection is broad enough to fit many palates. Two drinks, appetizer, Mahi Mahi, all came to about $95. With tip it pushed that over $100. Was it worth $100? Nah. It really wasn't. The prices are a bit high for everything. You could find equal value for less at Ted's Bulletin, maybe even Cheesecake Factory. The value does not match the price, and the constant hard sell of the wine club was annoying, when our server was around to talk to us. We felt like an afterthought. So this was a tough review. I liked it as a good date spot, a place to impress a date. But the cost-value was off and the service brought it down a bit. Came back for lunch a couple weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. Cindy was my server and, honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better, more attentive person to wait on me. She was super friendly and personable and made great recommendations. She went above and beyond to ensure I had a good experience, too, and was good at anticipating my needs. Food: This time around, I ordered the chicken Madeira. It was good AF. The red wine sauce wasn't overwhelmingly red or rich but hit my taste buds perfectly. The mashed potatoes were bomb. Cooper's Hawk Winery - A Must-Visit! I was in the area for a work trip and needed a place to sync up with my team for dinner. Cooper's Hawk happened to be near our hotel, the photos looked incredible, so we decided to give it a try and wow, I'm so glad we did. When you first walk in, you're greeted by a beautiful store-meets-bar setup. I was immediately obsessed. The wine and champagne glasses, the aesthetic, the entire vibe, I wanted to take it all home. It's such a visually pleasing and welcoming entrance. We didn't have reservations, but the hostess was extremely friendly and sat us right away. Our server (I wish I remembered his name!) was wonderful. Since it was our first time, he walked us through the menu and pointed out the chef's specials. What really impressed me was how each dish is marked with a notation that ties directly to the wine that pairs perfectly with it, basically the VIN number of its ideal wine match. I thought that was such a thoughtful and unique touch. For food, we ordered the crusted mahi-mahi, chicken potstickers, and tuna sashimi. Everything tasted just as good as the photos if not better. The tuna sashimi was incredibly fresh and beautifully simple, not weighed down by unnecessary garnishes. The sauce it was paired with added the perfect touch. The chicken potstickers were so good we practically turned them into a shared entrée. And the mahi-mahi? Absolute perfection. We were too full to try dessert this time, but honestly, the entire experience from start to finish was amazing. The atmosphere, the service, the food, all outstanding. Ambiance: this is a chain restaurant which I do enjoy. There is a bar for wine tasting as you come in. They have merchandise that are super cute. You can dine at the back bar or in their main dining room. I've seen some private rooms as well for parties. Service: I usually go for wine tastings and pick up a few bottles since I'm a member. We came here as a party of 8 on a Saturday during the holiday season. My daughter has celiac so when I found out that they have a separate gluten free menu (that's quite extensive!) I was very excited. I called ahead of time to find out their celiac protocols and was pleasantly surprised to learn they gave a separate area of the kitchen for gluten free foods and a separate fryer as well! They even brought out a delicious soft gluten free bread at the start of the meal! My daughter does not currently have any symptoms so if she were glutened we probably wouldn't know but it seems they are aware and knowledgeable on celiac safety. She absolutely loved her bread and lettuce wraps and steak and multiple desserts (the crème brûlée and s'mores pot)! For those of us without celiac we started with the pretzel bread and calamari (both great)! I had the surf and turf with filet and lobster. The lobster was a tad overcooked and the filet just a bit salty but overall still good. My dad ordered a blackened salmon which looked great! For dessert we had the crème brûlée, s'mores pot and chocolate cake -- all good! So happy to have found a place that has so much awareness on celiac, will definitely be back. read more

This place is amazing! I went here with a group of girls for a wine tasting and dinner. The tasting pours were huge! The overall wine selection was pretty good. There wasn't a wine that really stood out from the tasting list. The food was by far amazing. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. The service was spectacular. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. You can even have a cool decanter placed at your table for the wine. The ambiance was perfect. It's very homey feeling and spacious. We didn't have a reservation but it was no issue getting seated right away, even on a busy Friday evening. We sat in the bar area. We didn't participate in the monthly tasting. We were hungry and were ready to get down to business! We were gonna share a bottle and was torn between the pilot noir and the lux cabernet. Spritzy sangria, mango dragonfruit: very sweet, I loved the pink color in itself, I could only taste the dragonfruit. It didn't taste much like sangria but extra points for being pink! I didn't enjoy the passion fruit wine, it tasted sweet but had a sour kick for the aftertaste. It's harder to drink, if you know the fruit, you'd understand. The Reston Cooper's Hawk is the best of their locations because of their amazing staff. We find ourselves wanting to go in just hoping Ryan is on duty at the Tasting Bar. He is so friendly and knowledgeable. Recently, we met Deedee, another gem of an employee who elevates the experience and leaves us wanting to come back in and spend more money. Getting to see Gil, who truly wants every customer to have a wonderful experience and the staff to be happy at work, is a highlight of the trip. The food is always delicious (their risotto is fantastic!) and well worth the money. The wine is good and we enjoy that they are constantly introducing new ones. We prefer the bar area for atmosphere, but the dining room is fine (albeit somewhat loud when busy). The staff, particularly Gil, Ryan, and Deedee, really make Reston the best Cooper's Hawk (we've been to multiple locations across the country) and leave you wanting to come back soon because you truly enjoyed the experience. read more

We decided to try out the Reston location of Cooper's Hawk and just like Annapolis, Ashburn, and Rockville locations it didn't disappoint. We opted to metro and you can see the Coopers Hawk from the metro as you exit, which is great that it's metro accessible from DC. We were able to do a tasting with no wait, and also were able to have lunch after. The service, and the food were amazing just like all the other locations. You really can't go wrong speaking time at this location and the added perk of the metro is a great plus. Highly recommend this location! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I signed up for a membership in June. At the time, the bartender told me I could pick up my free bottle (which came with signing up for membership) at a later time. The server charged my new account with a bottle I never received. Only for me to realize at a later time. Fast forward to tonight (Jul 31st) where myself and my guest waited 1.5 hours before the manager came to share that what my guest had ordered was no longer available. Seconds later, they delivered my meal. I spoke with the manager and he apologized, but as I was speaking, another patron inserted herself into the conversation. She told us she was "tired of hearing us talk," speaking with threats mixed with racial undertones. The manager quickly tended to this behavior, dismissing the issue raised about unacceptable customer service. The patron said "I'm a white girl, do something and watch what happens." The manager seemed to align with this behavior. Will NOT come back... but maybe I was never welcomed in the first place. read more

I've never had a great experience here. Ashburn on the other hand, is fantastic. I went to the reston one a few weeks ago. The waitress was terrible (she rung us up on the wrong check!). I left my sweater there because we were in such a hurry to leave. We asked for more bread/drinks, never got it. Awful. I contacted Coopers hawk to complain. "Katie Jensen" responded to me and suggested that if we gave them another chance, they would give us 1 entree free and 1 glass of wine. Funny thing is we spent more than this the evening we went, and we're wine club members so we dont need just a glass of wine. So cheap! I let them know that. Never heard back. I've sent them a few emails, and no response. Is the reason for their email to account that they responded? Worst customer service. Avoid this location. read more

Took my dad here to celebrate Father's Day and had the best time. Cooper's Hawk is nice because you can show up casual or dress up to make the occasion a little fancier and celebratory. Service was prompt and great- very attentive. The server made my dad feel super special and even wished him a happy Father's Day (and brought out truffles at the end). Food was stellar. We started with the Asian tuna sashimi and crispy tuna rice. We liked both but preferred the sashimi (cleaner). The crispy tuna was good, but because of the spicy mayo it made it a little rich. Dad got the filet medium; he's obsessive about salt intake and thinks everything is too salty. The server relayed this to the kitchen and they did a great job with the food. It was to my emperor dad's liking. My mom and I split the BBQ chicken ranch salad and Dana's chicken. They split both dishes onto separate smaller plates, so my mom and I didn't have to pass things back and forth. The salad is exactly what you'd expect and tasty. The chicken I've had before- pan fried to perfection. We asked for Betty's potatoes but received the mashed instead. We were hungry so we just ate it.
