Bad experience trying to cancel an appointment. I had booked a balayage appointment with Tara, and when my plans changed, I called to reschedule more than 24 hours in advance. I was then told that Tara has a separate 48-hour cancellation policy and that I would still be charged a cancellation fee, despite that policy not being listed anywhere on the website. The whole interaction left such a bad taste in my mouth that I didn't even want to reschedule afterward. It felt really misleading and just poor customer service. I was also told that Tara's specific cancellation policy would be added to the website, but it still hasn't been. Posting this so others are aware, because there's no reasonable way to know cancellation policies vary by stylist if that information isn't clearly disclosed upfront. read more

Everyone was very friendly and nice! Mandy did my blowout (Groupon) and my hair looks great! The salon is not super high end, but she did a great job on my hair. There is a friendly dog named Moose who was hanging out in the salon as well. I watched another stylist doing a little boy's haircut -- he was so patient and made the little guy feel less scared and we were all ooh-ing and ah-ing once he was done. Ugh this pains me to write this given that Patricia (owner) who did the original service tried to make things right, but I'm seriously super pissed and hate the way I look. I went in for a blowout to consult with her on what to book in a month or two to basically refresh what I currently had and to cover some greys. What I had was a grown out blonde/golden toned balayage (from January) with a neutral toned dark brown base. I wanted to look like me just a refresh for summer. Thought that was clear and so SHE proceeded to book me for a partial highlight, single process color and haircut. Fast forward to appointment....she starts putting in foils for a highlight and asks me about color. Do I like warm? I said sure. I made the mistake of saying I like caramel, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking caramel like golden and didn't think too much of it because we already had a conversation about what I liked at my blowout/consult. I honestly think she forgot....and had I realized she was using the convo about warmth, etc. to pulse what I wanted, I literally would have showed her a picture of me from January. That said, I left with a SUPER warm base and almost auburn highlights. I called to express frustration. She felt bad but the damage was done. Literally. Two more appointments to try to fix. An attempt to retone and more highlights on top of current. More breakage to the point that I can't even hide my hair via a ponytail and now a mix of orange and weird ashy blond highlights on top of a warm base. At my final appointment, she recommended a root melt and balayage going forward. Why didn't she book me for that in the first place given what I had?! Sooooo very frustrating. Giving 2 stars since she tried fixing and the haircut was ok. The poor communication and end result is too much to not express. read more

I had such a fun time with Eliot, he is a true artist and really knows color. I 100% recommend paying a visit. Trust me when I say, trust him with blonde hair. I went to the salon for a haircut one week and the next week for a double process with special placement foils with the same stylist for both appointments. I was charged for flat iron curl styling with my haircut since that's how I booked it, but was did not receive it. I have received the refund for this issue, so at least this was resolved. However, I had an issue with my coloring experience. I know that this review will probably prompt a response from the owner's, but the proof is in the pictures and in the fact that I had to get it corrected at another salon with a stylist who confirmed they did not correctly process my hair to achieve what I wanted. I called the salon the Monday after my appointment to explain that I was unhappy and look for resolutions. I was met with one of the co-owners belittling me the entire conversation and treating me like a child and also falsely claiming that I had box dye on my hair. I have never had someone talk to me so rudely in my life and they ultimately saw no issue with how my hair looked. By the time I spoke with the other owner (who was much nicer), I had no faith that this salon was a place that I could trust again. I was only offered to tone down the roots for free, but the issue was more than just the roots since my hair was not a dark copper beyond the top of my head. When I went to get it fixed at a different salon, the stylist who worked to correct their mistakes said that they should not have bleached me as light as they did and should have lifted my entire head instead of the way they did which resulted in the top half being red and the bottom half blonde and browns. Going to this salon was such a waste of time, money, and energy especially since another stylist proved that this look was easily achievable in one sitting. I booked directly through Groupon and my appointment was confirmed via text message- couldn't be easier! The salon is really chic without being pretentious. It can be a little bit intimidating going to a new place but I felt instantly at ease here. My stylist, Eliot, was absolutely amazing! He was so personable and I enjoyed chatting with him the entire time I was here. He gave me exactly what I wanted-- lots of volume but with plenty of movement. Sometimes my scalp freaks out from too many products but I was able to make this blowout last for several days with the help of some dry shampoo.
