OMG...rage post... I get that this is, apparently, the only convenience store in this area. I also…read moreget that working late is rough and you do what you can to make your shift go. This was that classic example where I was reminded of two things: 1) Just move along, smile and nod if you need to - try not t0o engage or just agree... 2) If you can, just avoid the convenience store scene in the middle of the night. I do delivery driving and I prefer the middle of the night because it is (normally) far more peaceful. The folks at the merchant stops are 90% way chill. I was having such a lovely night and just got past the midnight rush as people get those spots open till 11-12. I dropped off an order in Forest Grove so I picked up a pickup for 2 different people at this convenience store. I enter to a customer trying to get stuff from the warm self service food. I can hear an employee barking all sorts at the customer (who never said a single word during my whole visit) - he genuinely looked at me like "I'm stuck... and do not know how to make this stop". The employee was going on and on and on about that they do not have this and that they hate that they are out of anything but sometimes they run out of things that people want. I was confused since it looked like the customer had probably just asked about something and not the history of said item. I just waited for the employee to see me as, with their warm food station taking up a large amount of the store and assuming they are busy doing work they will surely come to the counter. I get that there are a couple 7-11 locations that have a vendor pick up spot but usually they have BIG ASS signs that say that. Here's the thing though - most stores have a fridge/freezer that they take the order out of for me because usually I am picking up drinks or ice cream for a customer. Don't know about y'all but if I ordered a pint of ice cream - it sitting on a counter anywhere near the HOT FOOD STATION, even for 1-2 minutes.... can we talk about science kids? Yep, so the apparent queen of this location genuinely made me walk all the way around the store to the other side of the hot food station to pick up the two small bags while actually giving me a full blown lecture about how this store does things. I was pissed enough seeing she is lecturing me on how to walk unnecessary around the whole store thinking - well, maybe I should have done this and shopped the order myself so that my customer's ice cream was not half melted (did I mention that us folks make more money on tips that on the food???). She kept going on and on about her just telling me in case I was here again. I will have to remember so that when I go there I can say I will get my customer undamaged food thanks.

It's very very busy in the morning actually it's busy a lot but it's a really good 7-Eleven. They try to keep everything in stock even though they're so busy they run through stuff. They still try to keep it stocked well, and again really good. Nice people worked there and if you go there a few times they remember you and they're super cool. It's one of the few nice convenient stores that I like to go to. My husband goes there almost every day to get a cup of coffee, the rewards programs pretty good so I would give them a five because it's a really good 7-Eleven

North Hillsboro, this is your lunch option…read more I want to get this review in just to remind people that this and the Jesus Fightin' Coffee Barn behind Napa are the only food-selling businesses keeping regular hours in this rapidly expanding corner of the city. If the town overlords have their way, there'll be three new factories (oh, sorry "fabs"--wouldn't want to be coarse) belching smoke (darn it, there I go again--"vapor") into the sky from their myriad stacks (ahem, "scrubbers") just across the road, some new corporate campuses for all the tech people who totally go to the office after Covid and... no amenities or housing whatsoever. Great. As it is, the one restaurant in this area--Jersey Girl Pizza--can't attract enough help to stay open for lunch because its key labor pool is still attending Glencoe in the afternoon. Anything else the neighborhood needs is 2+ miles away, and bus service to the area is about to be discontinued because that bus didn't serve anyone but Intel. So we get the faithful Plaid, which recognizes it's the one port in a storm and recently bulked up its selection of milk, eggs and other staples to go with its actual essentials: Four aisles of snacks and a wall of alcohol fridges and ice cream freezers. There is (1) grocery aisle, and even that contains wine. For the optimist, this Plaid has a shocking array of European chocolates and candies, a diverse selection of chips ranging from hot to flamin' hot and a lovely gentleman behind the counter who'll wish you a Plaidtastic day. For the pessimist, there are still enough disgruntled country regulars to keep you entertained with disputes over nicotine patches, political discussions about flavored tobacco bans and squabbles over who'll clean up an ICEE spilled while reaching for a clearance yardstick of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. There are sandwiches in a refrigerator section, but no one knows where they're made. There's "coffee" on the counter that may or may not derive from beans. And there's a microwave for your burritos that may even be clean if you get to it early enough in the week. This is what the future workers of North Hillsboro will line up for in the years that follow. This is what may eventually force the pizza place to realize that you can, in fact, hire workers from places other than the high school across the street. This is the single most reliable business in this sought-after corner of town, and it's a dark metaphor for what awaits those who settle here. Have a Plaidtastic day.
