My service advisor was Matias Bustos. WOW. Stellar service. I was experiencing a check engine light that had to do with the hybrid battery fan that cools the Integrated Motor Assist to the gas engine. My fan needed replacing. I called all around and the dealer actually had the lowest price for repair. Their part was a little more but I could get the part in a few days compared to online (it would have taken a week or more). I needed to not be driving it with that issue going on. Matias got me in more quickly than my scheduled appt. He fixed it a day sooner. He was professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and was very easy to work with. He gave me a diagnostic and agreed that if I was correct in my assessment of the problem, he wouldn't charge me the diagnostic fee. He was true to his word. They fixed the problem while I waited. Matias gave me options in the event that I needed to leave my car. He saved the loaner car for me just in case. The problem was fixed within 2 hours, including diagnostics. I was very impressed with his honesty and his willingness to bend and flex to help me in my bind. He was incredibly kind. I have never had such a pleasant experience with a service advisor before. I will definitely be looking for him the next time I need to take my vehicle in, and request him if I am able. Matias was so helpful. My husband and I worked our asses off to finally afford something reliable, and I was proud of this purchase. That pride lasted one day. By the next morning, the car was shuddering so badly I had to bring it back. I turned it in to their service department on 6/2/26, and that's where this nightmare began. They told me the car needed a new transmission. Fine. Things happen. But what followed was the most exhausting, unprofessional, and infuriating experience I've ever had with a dealership. For over a month, the service contract company dragged their feet while Dick's Hillsboro Honda kept taking the transmission apart, putting it back together, sending pictures, sending oil samples -- just endless hoops to jump through. It felt like everyone involved was trying to avoid responsibility instead of fixing the car they sold me. After weeks of this, the transmission was finally approved. Then I was told the replacement they received was the wrong one. And the correct one? Back‑ordered for 4-6 weeks. So I waited. And waited. And waited. Communication from the dealership was almost nonexistent. I had to chase updates like it was my job. Eventually, on 7/28/26, they said they found a brand‑new transmission and got it approved. It arrived on 7/31/26. You'd think that would be the end of it -- but no. It is now 8/10/26, and every time I ask for an update, I get nothing. Not "we're working on it," not "almost done," not even "we haven't started." Just silence. And yes, I've had a loaner car this entire time -- but that doesn't excuse the complete lack of communication, the months‑long delay, or the fact that my "new‑to‑me" car has been sitting at their dealership longer than it was ever in my driveway. A loaner doesn't fix the stress, the uncertainty, or the feeling of being ignored by a dealership that clearly doesn't care once the sale is complete. Meanwhile, the online portal says "completed." Completed? Really? Because when I drive by the dealership, my car is sitting outside like it hasn't been touched. You can't move a car with no transmission installed -- so what exactly is "completed"? Since 8/7/26, I've sent nine messages asking for updates. Nine. I purchased a 2018 Mazda from this dealership in May 2025. Before completing the sale, we explicitly agreed that the radar, sensors, and shattered infotainment would be repaired. After signing, they initially refused to fix the infotainment, claiming I bought the car "as is." When I provided proof of our agreement, they acknowledged it--but repairs were continually delayed. I paid for an independent inspection, which revealed subframe damage and evidence of severe impact. The car was in their possession for over 30 days post-purchase, and the unresolved issues have affected its value. I am filing formal complaints with the DOJ and DMV for fraud and misrepresentation. Last month we purchased a used vehicle from this dealership trusting that the car had been inspected and was ready to drive, as advertised. We've been loyal Honda people for years so we thought this was a great bet for getting a reliable used car to replace our trusty Civic that lasted 25 years. Were there hidden fees, like $1500 for detailing added to the sales price? Ya. But whatever, I pretty much expected that. But to make a long story short, the vehicle had several extremely serious mechanical issues that should have been caught in an inspection, like ANY basic inspection. But by the time we had a thorough independent mechanical evaluation done to reveal the cost and scope of the engine problems, the 5 day return period had just closed (if that's even real). I don't mind the fact that we had to pay for expensive repairs as much as I mind being LIED to about a car that obviously wasn't what they advertised. There is clearly a pattern here based on many poor customer reviews about the same dishonest inspection issue. I mean, ever since moving to Oregon, I've pretty much established and chosen to take my vehicles here versus their Beaverton location. Why? Simply because I haven't come across any problems with the staff the way the other negative reviews have. In other words, my experiences here have been great thus far. And for the most part, I feel I have been treated with good care and professionalism. I've been to this Honda dealership location at least six times over the past 18 months. Primarily to service two of my Honda vehicles. Thanks to the older service counter lady (forgot her name), that guided me on what needs fixing, or Alexis for texting me updates; Whether if its for a recall, quick oil change, or a major fix requiring an appointment. I really have not ran into any service issues here (knock on wood)! And upon completion and delivery, just to verify repairs, I've even had the opportunity to speak to a couple of their mechanics regarding what repairs were made. So, will I return to this dealership? We got a beautiful ford explorer here but it had a frozen touchscreen , but we wanted the car so we took it as they told us we could schedule it at a later time to get the screen fixed. Finally 2 months later they took it in to fix the screen, they never called us on an update I called a week later and they said they had shipped it off and it was gonna be a while, they never offered us a rental , when I called another week later they put me on a list for a rental I never got. My experience with this dealer started about 3 months ago. I had filled out one of those online applications for funding and was initially contacted by a different dealership, in a different city. That dealer didn't have anything on their lot that was in my price range, so I just didn't continue. A few days later I was contacted by a salesman at Hillsoboro Honda. He was nice, but persistent. Yes, I did get multiple calls and loads of emails. Yes, that was annoying - but that's pretty typical in this day and age. I could have opted out or unsubscribed, but I didn't. I spoke with Salesman #1 and picked out a strong possibility for a vehicle - I have some special needs and have to have a vehicle that has certain specs for me to drive it. That particular vehicle was in line to be serviced (recall) and it was taking a while to get done. During that waiting time, I was contacted periodically by the salesman to verify my continued interest and also to present me with some other possibilities. At one point the salesman thought the car was done and ready to be sold, when it actually wasn't - a miscommunication. I got pretty frustrated that it was taking so long, and that miscommunication made me feel that I was being jerked around. Now, here's where the 5 star review comes from: I called the dealership and wanted to know what was happening. I was connected to the GM, Brad. Brad was awesome! He listened, he apologized, and he called the shop to find out what the deal was. He called me back, and explained the situation and reassured me that I was still good to go. The next call I received was from Alex (salesman #2). I explained what was going on to Alex, what my special needs were, and we discussed the car I was interested in. I told him I would be in Portland in a week or so and I would stop by when I had time. I went in and the car was there and looking good...but, although the specs said it would work, it didn't. Alex brought around this Kia Soul, which was higher priced than the other one, but had similar specs. It worked! We attempted to finalize the financials that day, but, with the car being higher priced than the other one, it just wasn't coming together. I left feeling pretty dejected. 2 days later, Alex called me back and said they had the financing figured out. I went in the next morning - and left with my new 2019 Kia Soul. Here's the deal: I have special needs AND I have limited income and resources. This dealership went above and beyond to get me into a vehicle that meets my needs, with a payment I can handle. The vehicle is great, but it's a tool. It's the people who count. Alex is an awesome young man who was definitely raised right and it shows. Brad was excellent to work with and listened to me and didn't treat me as unworthy - as so many people do when dealing with people of limited means & special needs. THREE days later the blank key arrived, but they informed me their key cutting machine had broken down LAST WEEK. I took the blank to Beaverton where I learned 1) it wouldn't have worked anyway because the transponder needed to sync with the car, meaning 2) you had to tow the car to the service center to get that done. I wonder why people do not trust dealerships to do car repairs? Could it be that none of your repairs need to be done now? Could it be that instead of $6,000 they would have happily charged me my trusted mechanic charged me less than $60 for normal maintenance? Could it be that this is really a watch the car and see how often the intermittent error that at worst will stop us from driving over 50 MPH? Also, the dealerships are careful to walk the fine legal line. After all, they are just telling you how much it would cost to fix that thing that does not need to be fixed right now... Worst experience, shouldn't be surprised since their salesmen come off as stereotypical used car salesmen who just want to rip you off. I inquired about purchasing a new '23 Honda Pilot. Immediately, I received a text message from Val and an email from J. Kimmel. Of note, it was like communicating in a good cop bad cop scenario. Val and I agreed to on a price and he guaranteed there was a car available. I text Val on the way to the dealership, and agreed that he would be the point person for the sale and to get my car appraised for trade.. Surprise when I arrived, Val was busy so Jimmy Kimmel who was conveniently waiting at the door welcomed me in. He sat me down to inform me that the Pilot was just sold. He offered me a chance to put money down to reserve the next one coming in but the Pilot wouldn't be available for at least 45 days. Then he went on to say that there were no managers available to appraise my trade in and that it would be at the least, a 2 hour wait. Mind you, all the managers are sitting in the office behind their nice glass walls. Lesson learned and revealed by the car sale men: 1. They need people to walk in the door, so they will do anything to get people to come in. 2. The advertise cars especially new cars tend to not actually be in stock. 3. They want to lock you down to pay to reserve a car that isn't on the lot, and they have no timeline to get in stock. 4. This is the clincher, Jimmy K says that all lots, with the exception of theirs is looking to get the highest bidder to purchase their vehicles..... It was sad to have this type of experience since I did buy my car and have had it serviced at this dealership since 2017. I went in for a check up/oil change for my car and wanted a trade in quote. The person working in the service department said she would get someone to help assist me with that quote. The salesman went outside with me to look at my car and I made it clear that I just wanted a trade in quote and was not looking to buy anything. He asked me what kind of car would I be interested in buying if I were to buy a car and we ended up looking at the SUV's and he wanted me to test drive it. I have previously have had help purchasing my first used car with my parents so I don't know how the process works and I made it clear that I wasn't looking to buy a car, just wanted information, and wanted to consult with my parents before buying a car. We ended up test driving 2 cars and finally got back to the dealership to set up "finances". The salesman finally presented me with my trade in quote (what I wanted in the first place) and gave me a run down of the finances for one of the SUV's I test drove. After going back and forth with giving me offers and trying to find a low monthly payment, I kept saying that I do not want to buy a car and I would like to talk to my parents about buying something this big. This went on for about 5-6 times and I kept saying no. The salesman came back from talking with the manager several times and told me, "You're 23. Push your parents aside and be a big girl" and he kept putting words in my mouth that I never said (ex. I would buy a car if the monthly payment was lower than $400). I was honestly shocked by this. I felt SO pressured to buy a new car due to the salesman selling tactics but I made it very clear in the beginning I wanted a quote. If that is their way of trying to sell a car, then it was completely rude and disrespectful. We went in this morning and were wildly unimpressed with Hillsboro Honda. We were majorly lowballed on trade in value on our 2020 Corolla (they offered 13k, saying it needed new tires and had a dent in the bumper- KBB and Edmunds placed the trade in value accommodating for those things at 18-19k) and when presented with this they said those values didn't really matter; if anything, the market is still hot and they're going for more than that, but no matter, they definitely don't go for less. I guess they figure most people don't know about current market trends or how to value their own vehicles. They offered nothing at all for our 2007 civic, basically attempting to get it for free on trade in; all it needs is a brake flush and has some scratches on the bumper, but it has touch screen stereo and tinted window upgrades and low miles, weathertek mats, and is otherwise in great shape for the year so that was also absurd. But the worst part was the sticker price of the CRV was inflated by nearly four grand and couldn't be explained as to why, it "just was". My husband has a very good credit rating, above 720, but they were offering a terrible APR and an insane monthly payment. When pressed as to how they were getting their figures they said "well this car is better than what you're trading in", but that was irrelevant as what we were financing would be exactly what we financed on the Corolla, yet the monthly payment was over double. No matter how we argued it, they kept saying they were "moving mountains" (yeah, not hardly) for us. We finally walked out, but not before the finance manager was denigrating to my husband about us balking at their figures. We will not be returning to Dicks Hillsboro Honda or any Dicks Auto Group location after this scammy experience. read more

Everyone on the sales floor was a decent person and NOBODY ever was pushy or short with us. ANY service I have done at Hillsboro Honda is done correctly, promptly and professionally. Dishonest company. Their rep Diego told me I would get a set amount when I came in. When I arrived, he lowballed me by five hundred dollars. Then he lied to me again in order to close the deal, promising me with eye contact that they would overnight the check to me by a set date. When the check didn't show, I called and management said that they don't do overnight checks. They backed him up and told me I was at fault, then created a situation where the only solution was to pay for a rideshare and rush back out to Hillsboro to get my check before I leave the country. Before you go to Dick's Honda, please read the 1-star reviews very carefully, see their concerns, and note how many more there are than 5-star reviews. Dick's Honda pays commissions to their repair staff for the money they bring in. This incentivizes them to recommend services that you "may need" but are not necessary and could be irrelevant to the issue you brought the car in for. In my case I brought my Honda Insight in for an oil change. Imagine my surprise when I found out my front ball bearings were shot, my air filters were dirty, and my power steering pump was leaking. lol. The air filters were fine, it turns out they naturally get dirty as they're used and it costs only $20 and 5 minutes on Youtube to replace them. The leaking power-steering pump was a tiny bit of oil that came from another leak and I don't know how they even assessed the ball bearings since I had none of the symptoms described on the web. To GM, Mr Riley, I have contacted you via email & have left you a voicemail regarding the issue the sold vehicle came with before your reply here. You have failed to return contact and your staff informed, "it's my problem". What an outstanding "team's standard quality of service" you have going on. Your reply was left after contacting you, don't be fooled. Editing review... upon going to my local DMV to register the vehicle I had just purchased from Dick's Honda Hillsboro, I was informed the respected vehicle would be close to $1,000 to register it as it has nearly $600 in late fees associated to the VIN. Yes, I am an out of state buyer. The entire Dick's Hillsboro team failed to disclose late fees associated with this Vehicle. They gladly "researched" and collected my accurate taxes for my State and County but failed to collect my registration and informed they "should be around $300" and to should be paid in person to my local DMV". When I contacted them (dealership), they informed the fees are associated to the previous owner registered to that vehicle (they held the vehicles title, you were the owner and boasted about who previously owned the car). I was told it wasn't their problem and it was now solely mine to figure out. They noted there was no way in knowing, yet, "finance team" looked up my respected due taxes via FREE Ca. DMV.gov website where it shows all associated fees included late pentality fees. Beware of the transparency of this dealership and apparently the history behind their vehicles. I spent a lot of time and extra money flying out there to meet them, yet they left me with fees associated to a vehicle they owned during that time. If I would have know registration would cost me nearly 1k to register, I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle. read more
