ETHANOL-FREEEEE (= EtOH-free) GAS SOLD HERE! Do you crave better gas mileage!? Does your car make funny sounds?! Does your engine feel like it grinds?! Ppl think Ethanol gas is less expensive than real gas. Completely not true in more ways than one. I once drove an Ethanol gas-consuming vehicle and let me tell you, it was not a pretty sight. When the vehicle was first new, we filled with regular gas and it worked just fine but soon after ethanol gas became available is when that same vehicle broke down often and engine ran rough like it was grinding away it's short life! So not good! Why?! Because of the Ethanol gas! Ethanol gas contains that additive so is not pure gas! If not yet, the ethanol will eventually do bad things to you car's engine! :( Ethanol-free gas is more efficient and cleaner burning. It may seem like it costs a bit more but the gas mileage you will see will be well worth the price. It will make your car drive more miles = better gas mileage! Hey, if you're half Chinese like me, this matters! Hehe :) Well, if you're not sure, give it a try. No doubt that you will definitely see improved gas mileage pretty instantaneously! :) --- SELF-SERVICE -- As for the service? This is a self-service gas station. You pay at the pump or inside the station kiosk. The attendants usually found inside the kiosk are always very nice and pleasant. CASH = DEBIT = 8¢/gal DISCOUNT -- If you pay cash or use your debit card as cash (you have to let them know you want to use your card as debit), you will receive a discount per gallon. When using your debit card, you will have to guess how much gas you'll need in terms of dollars, pay that amount, then go back into the kiosk for your change if you don't use the entire allotment: - With prices now about $3.05/gal, I usually get $50 to fill my four-door sedan tank. - If you pay cash or by debit, be sure to go back inside the kiosk to get a receipt for your exact purchase. WINDOW WASHING SUPPLIES - If you are needing window washing/wiping accessories (wiping towels, soapy water, and squeegee), find the the dark grey towers located between the gas pumps that double as trash cans. TIRE AIR & WINDOW WASHER WATER EQUIPMENT -- I have never used this equipment but it's on the side of the station nearest Zippy's Waipio (next door). My hubby started to use only ethanol free gasoline. He was searching on the internet for gas stations that would sell ethanol free gas. He like ethanol free gas cause it doesnt have any of the junk, you get better mileage and its better for the engines. We found this station in Waipio by chance (we were going to my sisters house and saw the banners advertising Ethanol Free). I only use ethanol free gasoline (because of better mileage (10% or better) and cleaner engine... no ethanol gunk in the engine), so not gas station has what I use. This spot in Waipio not only has ethanol free gas, but has it at a great price. If you pay cash, you get 10 cents off per gallon. If you want even a better deal, use a Costco card (4% back per dollar on gas currently means you get about 14 cents back per gallon because cost of gas is about $3.50) or a credit card that gives 4% or better back on all gas purchases. Service has always been quick and good... personnel is friendly and gets the job done. Refreshments and many essential supplies are always available in the little shop, but it's REALLY nice to have a Zippys sharing the same lot, and so long you're there when Zippys is open, you could order, grab and go, or you could sit down and have a nice meal after you fill up. I usually call in an order at Zippys, stop and fill up gas, pick up and get going for the day. read more

This review is for the vacuum cleaner station at the 76 gas station. One of the best vacuum that I have used to clean out all the sand in the minivan from the beach. No problem and suck up all the sand fast. Cost is $1.50 for 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Just make sure you take all the mats out first then vacuum all the sand. You will have enough time. The state of Hawaii did the worst thing possible to allow the use of 10% ethanol unleaded gasoline. Most cars are not built, equipped, and computer tuned appropriately for this type of gasoline... and now, the state has recognized and admitted that this blended gasoline is not necessarily cost efficient as originally thought. The science behind it states that when a car is properly tuned, ethanol can produce more horsepower, however ethanol requires a greater quantity to produce the necessary horsepower thus reducing fuel economy. Though it may not be the cheapest gas on the island... I don't mind paying more for the service. The gas station is spacious, they're never busy and the ladies here have great customer service. I imagine their long shifts would make it hard to tell every customer "Have a nice day!" but no matter what time I go to this gas station they always say "Thank you! Have a nice day!" with enthusiasm. This small gesture can make some people's day. I'm glad I live so close by that I can always stop by here when I need gas or a pack of cigarettes. read more

I barely go to this gas station just because they don't have a 7/11 so I usually go to the Aloha gas station down the street. But if you're just looking for gas, this place is pretty fast because it's not as crowded as the other two. Shell near Mcdonalds and Aloha gas station down the street. This is right next to Zippys, so it would help if you wanted Zippys. The prices are about the same as the other two usually, otherwise not much difference. Hmmm Ethanol free gas, they have it available here. They also have a small sign that says the price is different than the street sign. Its a little confusing! Please fix it and let us know what is the REAL price. The Ethanol free gas is 417, and regular is 407. Overall its an okay gas station, helpful people which is good too. read more

How disgraceful - put a sign up announcing your gas price - and only when you pull up to the pump and get out is there a small notice on paper that says that the actual cost of the gas is 8 cents more if you pay using a credit card. How many people do you know who pay for gas with cash? read more

I just thought I'd mention the fact that the air for your tires is not free here. In fact, it will set you back $1...however, it seems like the advertisement on the coin-op for the air mentions it as a donation to a charity. If that would be the case, what better way to spend $1 and get air at the same time! I would also like to mention that the although this location is easy to get to, it can be quite difficult during the weekday afternoons to get on to Salt Lake Blvd. if you're heading towards the Aloha Stadium. Just saying...other than that, no complaints from me! On my way to my teacher workshop carpool yesterday morning, I stopped by this Tesoro. It was $0.05-$0.06 cheaper than the Kapolei and Kunia stations, where I usually fill up at. Beware this is a shady gas station. Went for gas today. Have a KamaainaRewards card and a 76 gift card, which was paid for with cash. Was told it was credit. Still expecting the 15 cent discount, was shocked to be paying full credit price. Also being told that they arbitrarily charged a dime on different prices. And at least I got points. I want gas not points. I suggest u check the price you pay. I got ripped off today. read more
