This is a cute rooftop bar that my friends and I weren't even expecting to find. We showed up towards the end of the night, and for a Saturday it was strangely not busy. I love the layout of the place, with a bunch of cozy couches, swinging seats, and nice views. The place is only about 2 or 3 levels high, so the views weren't amazing, but it was still nice. The drinks were nothing to be wowed over, but the staff were nice and there was a cool camera to see inside Wonder Bar, which looks like we will have to visit next time. There was also a cool sign to take pictures in front of, but due to how brightly it was lit up, we were just silhouettes in front of it and couldn't do proper pics at night. The music was nice too. This rooftop bar is located right next to Wonder Bar. This has a great night skyline view, drinks are good and service is good. Seats are white leather feel couches so it is a comfy vibe but a bit uncomfortable in the heat and humidity as you would sweat and if you're wearing shorts or a dress you will feel the sweat on the seats. There are other kind of seats a bit more intimate and chair like. There is a big HTX sign great for photos and also has seating available. I've been here over 5 times. It's typically chill and maybe a good place to start a bar hop session with friends. The views are decent on the top floor. Music is hit or miss. Sometimes they have people up on the platforms performing shows, but most times not. read more

We ordered two lemon drops and when we asked why they were in regular glasses he said we didn't order lemon drop martinis but he could put them in martini glasses. This place gives me Miami vibes and I love it!! This place is ideal for a date night or just having good conversations with your people. There is a DJ that played a good selection of music. The drink I got was a deep eddy peach vodka with sprite, it was nasty to me because the sprite was flat, so it tasted more like tonic water. Not a problem....there's different levels and you can see the city of course at the top view with the DJ. The only issue we experienced is that the bouncer didn't let me friend in because of his "athletic shoes." His athletic shoes were some Nike Air Maxes. Ok, not a problem. 77 Degrees Rooftop has an interesting name as it often isn't 77 degrees on any rooftop in Houston. They have an Austin location which I went to a couple of years ago. The Houston location is relatively new and located in the heart of Midtown close to Dogwood, Shot Bar, and a bunch of other bars. They do have a valet parking lot but you can also find parking on the street if you try hard enough. I stopped by with a friend on a Saturday night for drinks. It was tough for me to decide between three stars and four stars as there are things I like and things I don't like. I do love rooftop bars in general and this is a fancy one. There are multiple stories and multiple bars. You have a nice view of Houston and the ambiance is nice. It makes for a cool spot to have some drinks, especially when the weather is nice. They even have some swings for the ladies. On the other end, I thought their craft cocktails were low on the alcohol content and expensive. I'm always willing to pay for a nice drink but I don't want it to be close to being a mocktail. If you show up late enough, around 11 p.m. or so, there will be a line. I hate waiting in lines so this is a turn-off for me. Luckily, we showed up earlier so there was no line. 77 Degrees is one of Houston's current hot spots, along with Present Company, so I'd definitely check it out at least once! read more

I have been dying for the Midtown area to include a nice roof top bar that is a little more upscale and 77 Degrees delivered! First off, yes there is a dress code but I don't understand why there is so much hostility surrounding that. Nicer places implement dress codes and that's their right. I went here with my boyfriend and my friend who flew in from Chicago to visit Houston for the first time and my friend did have more of a sneaker shoe on but the bouncer was super cool and he just said next time, abide by the dress code and we said our thank yous and carried on and went upstairs. Now, I get if they are actually being "picky and choosey" with racism, but I had a different experience so I have a different opinion. I'm giving this place 4 stars because 1) the please is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. It has a Miami vibe and the colors of the place at night are stunning and it seriously makes you feel like you're anywhere but Houston. 2) the music is super fun/hip. I enjoyed the variety of hip hop, Latin and new hits 3) The location. The location is great! It's next to Dogwood, Shot Bar etc. the only thing I will say is the bartenders are not that friendly and our one specific one kept messing up our drinks. I don't know if she thought we'd say something else than what we were actually saying, but our drinks were incorrect multiple times and that got irritating but we just went to a different bartender after awhile. The drinks are also slightly pricey, I mean they could come down a couple bucks and that would be gucci. The place gets rowdy around 11 on a weekday which was pretty cool because it seems like it's not just rowdy on the weekends! I'd like to come back on a Saturday night and see what it's like then too. Was able to do a mini-bar crawl and this was my first stop. Arrived early while there were only a handful of people. The mask rule was definitely not in effect, seemed more of a preference type thing. I would have like to have saw the staff wearing them though. Came here on a whim and it was easy to locate for the Uber driver. Well lit, nice neighborhood, security was social and friendly. Did his job all they the night. I asked the DJ to play Drake, sexxy red or some known artist besides his constant loop of techno music and the DJ just shook his head no. DJ was some short bald head guy and totally suck at his job. Now this bar was a good time! It was so damn pretty. The visuals are crazy. On a night with good weather, this would be a really good time. Our drinks were good. My drink, Norman's Cay was recommended by the bartender. She said it was a favorite. It was supposed to be a sweet fruity vibe, but to me it tasted like Smarties. I didn't mind because sometimes a drink is for you, sometimes it isn't. I liked this drink though. My boyfriend's drink was the Ruby Slipper. We read that it had blood orange in it and that intrigued us. His drink was also good but a tad more bitter. Overall our experience was great, the music is good, the decor is beautiful. The crowd at the time was full of young adults, so completely my crowd. This was around the end of May. It was a Friday night, so the crowd was alright. We ended up leaving to go to a Latin night. I came with some friends to experience this new place. None of us had been here. Coming on a Friday with good weather, I enjoyed being out on the rooftop and having a nice view of the city. The place is very vibrant with neon colors against chic white walls. Screams Miami all the way, which is nice touch. There are multiple floors to post up on and a good amount of seating as well. I enjoyed the big swings, bet ya didn't know I swing that way. I can't say a lot about the drinks because I ordered a pretty simple diet friendly Topo Chico with strawberry Stoli... ya ya save it. It's summertime, I have to drink responsibly. We came pretty early because we weren't planning on having a late night, so no crowd yet, but a good amount of people. There was a small line forming as we left around 9:30. I'll definitely be coming back for some more fun here this summer. read more

To start off, the best thing about this place is that it is a cute place to the take pictures. But that is literally the only good thing about this bar which doesn't make up for the racist place it is. The music is more EDM/rave kind of style which is fine. But when my cousin had requested to play a hip hop song, she was told they don't play that kind of music because of the demographic it'll bring in. We left right after that comment. 77 Degrees has definite potential! I had no issues getting in and they played amazing music. We mainly stayed on level 2. We didn't get to check out level 1 or 3 so next time. On level 2 it was jammed packed with minimal to NO seating. This floor is quite large and they didn't think to add extra chairs? We went on the weekend of the grand opening and it was very busy. The bartenders tried their best to serve everyone and get orders but you would think the owner would supply more bartenders for a night like this. Numerous people were complaining about waiting 20-30 minutes for drinks. 77 Degrees definitely will be the hype for awhile. It used to be where Red Door was locates and right next to 360 and Dogwood. I am all about this place. I've now been here twice within the past week! I know I know, but I am obsessed. The views, the ambiance, the overall vibes, I am here for it. The Vibes: There's 3 floors, and on the weekend theres a DJ. I just feel the all white outside look makes it feel classic and trendy. For me, there's nothing like it in Houston. The Perfect Ten- this was by far my favorite, a mix of deep eddy lemon, ginger beer and cucumber. So refreshing and light to drink 2.The Cayman Account- Calling all photogs, if you're looking to take pretty pictures, this one is what you wanna order. Rum island drink with a giant slice of pineapple. I'm here for it. 3. Ruby Slipper- Another photography worthy drink, ft none other than you guessed it deep eddy ruby red vodka. I'm not a big grapefruit fan but this drink wasn't bad! 4. Chingon- okay okay here's where the strong comes in, because this drink hit the spot. Let's talk about it: mezcal, cazadores, agave, yes please! Now for the food: Low Key still thinking about the guacamole here, because it was pretty good, as well as the fried snapper tacos! I loved everything about this place. It pains me to write a one star. The music was nice and upbeat, the bartenders downstairs were amazing and the ambiance was definitely there. I'm specifically giving a one star because of the bartender who was "taking care" of us upstairs. It took a 20 full minutes to get 4 shots after placing the order. We watched as she had two full on conversations with other people after us, holding the shaker that had our shots contained. I wasn't bothered by any of that, even after she made a comment about one of us "looking weird". I was doing my best to stay friendly. I ended up bothered by my boyfriend's card just sitting out in the open near other customers as she was having these other conversations. At that time, I asked her to simply just move his card since I felt like it was too up for easy grabs. Not too hurry up, not to pay attention to us, but to just move his card away from an opened space. She snapped at me by stating "give me one second, they aren't going to take it" while holding a finger up at me in a condescending manner. I was in shock that I said "what?" When she repeated herself, it was so hard to even want to stay there at all. I understand entertaining your guests and wanting them to feel special, but if you are already helping someone, finish their order or at least have their card not where other customers can read and access it. read more

Wow, this place is stunning! We decided to start early here for a friend's birthday coming from the Clear Lake side of town. Upon arriving in Midtown to park, my friends and I were in awe of the beautiful lights of 77 Degrees. We arrived early about 8 or so and found a lovely spot to sit in the 2nd level. The white decor and couches are beautiful. Love the swings. Great photo ops! Our server Angie was a sweetheart and offered us all a round of complimentary shots for my friend's birthday. We all tried a few cocktails. My personal favorite was the Grape Expectations. I love the fresh ingredients. It was a gorgeous evening for a rooftop bar and this place was just perfect! We stopped by a few other nearby bars after and when we walked by 77 Degrees around 11 or so the line was already wrapped around the block. I would love to check it out again later in the night. It looked completely packed and I can see why. It deserves the hype! My only suggestion would be to add a happy hour drink/food menu soon. I can't wait to come back! read more

It wasn't until this past weekend that I went with my black best friend and they refused to let him in because of their racist dress code. This was my first time at 77 Degrees and I wanted to check out all the hype! The location of this rooftop bar is epic; I was impressed with the layout! The drinks were strong (very strong) and there was ample amount of space! I had a great time interacting with other patrons at the venue lol - I definitely think this place will be all the rave in the summer time; especially when the weather breaks. The one knock against this place and again, this was my first time there - was the guy to gal ratio was about as good as JV high school boys basketball team; with only one female trainer - I say that to say not good! I can only imagine, that since this venue is so new the owners / managers wanted to get as many people in and talking about the place as possible - which totally makes sense from a business standpoint. i wish that i could rate this business on the quality of their service/product, but unfortunately that will never be the case. coming to the bar in a group of people, they let everyone of us in except our male friend who was wearing dunks. Another guy in our group was wearing air forces and another girl in our group was wearing jordan's, and they had no problem with that. nowhere on their website does it show a dress code. so pretty much the only "dress code" they have is men can't wear jordan's/dunks which imo is stupid, especially considering they let people wear air forces no problem(??) there are plenty of other bars in the area that offer a much nicer experience. i have also heard that this rule isn't applied to men if they are white, which is simply a racially motivated policy. since i personally don't want to support a business like that, i would and did take my money elsewhere. read more

First and last time we'll come here. It's a nice venue with decent drinks (hence the 2 stars) but the clientele and the DJ (at least on Saturdays) was just God f*cking awful. I'll start with the DJ. From the time we arrived until we left, the DJ played non stop bullsh*t. He was clearly playing stuff he "thought" was hot or he wanted to hear with no concern for anyone else because he never once looked up to read the room. Protip: if 80% or more of your audience are standing around or leaving, you're probably not playing great music. The 3 times he did try to play a decent song he managed to COMPLETELY ruin said song by making it a dubstep (or whatever-the-f*ck-its-called) remix. It was just awful. 2nd. THE SMOKERS. I've never been to a venue outdoor or indoor that had so many people smoking cigarettes in the middle of the dance floor. I don't care that other people want to kill their lungs with those things, but I didn't and don't go out to gag to death on tar smoke.Have the good sense to step away from crowds if you're going to puff on those things. I hate to write this, but I will never come here again due to a very bad experience I had last week. Tried to go there with my friend who is Black and was wearing brand new Jordan's, and he was denied entry at the door because his shoes were "out of dress code." Apparently Converse, Nike, and other tennis shoe brands are fine, but specifically Jordan's are against this place's policy?? Honestly this kind of racist "dress code policy" has no place in the city of Houston, among civilized people, or in 2021. The owner should be ashamed of himself. Do better. It's a shame, because in a pandemic I would be more drawn to outdoor spaces like this one, but my patronage here has now ended, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know (Black, White, and every other demographic) to steer clear of this racist bar as well. read more
