Definitely give this place a try! It has been around many years and it had been a minute since I had returned. We were a party of 7 and the service was good, food spectacular and ambiance relaxing. Great traditional Mexican dishes. Like grandma would make!

First time at this restaurant and the service and food were phenomenal. I now can understand why there was a 'line' when we arrived and a longer 'line' when we departed. All of the food ordered was delicious and our waiter was an amazing young man that always on top of items being requested etc. The eating area was full of people all enjoying their meal and having a pleasant time. The entire place and bathrooms were very clean. A large parking area is available directly in front.

We hosted our annual Christmas party at Gabriels- anxious to get together with friends after the pandemic. Gabriel's restaurant was a wonderful venue and very hospitable. The wait staff was wonderful and the room was perfect! They had four items on the menu to choose from and allowed us the freedom to have our party games and favors. The food was GREAT and everyone had a marvelous time. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back! Our waitress Veronica was the BEST I've seen at a gathering that large. Thank you Veronica.

Absolutely love the rice and beans here! Food comes out quick. I came here with my mom for lunch. They have a new lunch special everyday that includes soup. Their fideo soup is delicious with the right amount of spice! Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We moved to Colorado and moved back since 2018. I am not sure why we have not eaten at Gabriel's Cafe! The food was in point and delicious! We also had dessert and got the Apple Pie A La Mode!l! The service was top notch and the waitress was extremely attentive!

Came here for an employee Christmas party and drove right past it due to their sign being pretty dark during the night. They have decent amount of parking space and have nice people to greet you and take you to your seats. I really like the atmosphere here. Nice lighting, and furnished with an authentic Mexican style. The chips were fresh and crispy-not too hard. I really enjoyed their fresh verde salsa, I ended up using it on my rice and enchiladas too haha. I had tried their red cheese enchiladas, which came with rice, beans and lettuce. It was absolutely amazing. I did not have a huge appetite but I sure ate the crap out of it! The portions are well sized, not too little, not too much. My husband had the green chicken enchiladas and loved them! He doesn't usually like to spicy of food, and this was mild enough for him to take down. Their bar is pretty small but cute. They have beer, wine and cocktails, or you can simply order a shot of whiskey. I, of course had to try their margaritas, and they were the business!! They were huge, and not overloaded with that sour mix. I ordered two ;) They weren't expensive either! I paid roughly $5 for a margarita on the rocks. I really enjoyed the food, and the time I had here. I can definitely see myself coming back. I wish they delivered to my area, I'd totally order from there again. Its just a tad bit far from my house. I also hear they have dollar tacos, I probably will make the trip for those next :)

Food was decently good. But the Service was HORRIBLE. from the moment of walking in, they kept bringing someone to sit us and they kept passing it to the next person. Before we sat we were asked what we wanted to drink with no drink menu available. Food came at a decent time. We had to go ask someone for water because our waitress never came back. She sat across the restaurant to talk to another coworker. And on her phone.

My sister brought me here for authentic Mexican food and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors are way different than what I get up in MI. Food is fresh and the staff is friendly. I wish we had a place like this up in MI

My friend wanted to have some "real Mexican" food... so I took her hear. Then she starts to order tex-mex... embarrassing. But alas... we ordered and ordered and damn it was all so good. He brought spicy salsa, loved it... loved the regular stuff. The nachos were off the hook and massive! The drinks were so good too and my main dish of pork really hit the spot. I'd love to go here again if I were in town!

Gabriel's Restaurant - El Paso, TX; very good authentic Mexican food, party venue, good servings, reasonable prices.

My friend had the mole item and felt it was way too sweet/cocoa on it. Overall I would've wanted to try the other machaca items and other things. I had just flown in from the airport, and my brother arranged it as a special family gathering. Everything started normally: we were seated, ordered our food, received our drinks, and enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. Then my sister (who is LGBTQ+) stepped away to use the restroom. When she returned and sat down, a manager approached our table and loudly told her--in front of other diners--that "MEN cannot use the female restroom." My sister was mortified and humiliated by the public confrontation. The manager's tone and assumption were shocking and clearly discriminatory. We immediately got up and left without eating. This wasn't about enforcing any legitimate policy; it was rude, insensitive, and targeted. My adult sister is perfectly capable of reading the restroom signs herself--no one needed to police or shame her in such a way. The incident felt rooted in homophobia and transphobia from management. We will never return to this place, and we will actively discourage others--especially LGBTQ+ individuals and allies--from patronizing it. What should have been a joyful family milestone was ruined by bigotry. Avoid this establishment if you value respect and inclusivity.

While the food was never the primary…read morereason I returned, the excellent margaritas and outstanding service kept me coming back for nearly two decades. Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.

I bumped it up to four stars for the super friendly service and the excellent aguas frescas. We got there late, about an hour before closing and they were literally trying to get rid of the aguas for free. I guess they have to dump it if they don't use it all. It was close to our hotel so we gave it a try. Portion sizes are good. The taco platter comes with six tacos! I had the flautas Chinampa which came with four beef flautas, beans, rice, and salad. I forgot, the taco platter even came with a baked potato. Prices were excellent. We had gone to McDonald's in the morning and spent more. They also cave us frijoles charros for free. Not sure if this was standard or if they were also trying to get rid of it. I would return for the service and the convenience, but if you're looking for life changing Mexican cuisine, it's not here. Had multiple thousand Google reviews and they were all close to five stars. So I knew I had to check it out. It was super close to my hotel, so I popped in the car and found it without trouble. Trouble. Again, there is pretty limited parking so it's kind of hit and miss whether you'll find a spot or not. Fortunately, I did. When you walk up to the place, the building itself is pretty nondescript. They have a nice selection of outside seating, and your window to order is outside. Very nice lady at the counter gave me helpful suggestions and so I ordered three tacos and an amazing lime and cucumber fresca. Went in and sat down inside and was pleasantly surprised by the interior. It definitely had more of an upscale bar vibe to it than a Taco shop. The waiter that brought out my tacos told me that it turns into more of a nightclub after hours. I may have to go check that out. The tacos themselves were absolutely off the chain! The tortillas were blue corn and everything on it tasted so fresh and so wonderful.
