Ben doing full brake service on my E46 330i
    Arthur K.

I took some time after work to stop into 7th gear and found a clean shop with Ben the owner quietly working on an older BMW. Ben is very approachable and we struck up a conversation. I explained I purchased an older BMW and had a few things I needed done. Ben offered to take a quick look at it and to my surprise it ended up a being a pretty thorough inspection on the lift. I will have 7th Gear do some work on my car and update my review. My initial impression is very good. Update 1. Ben sent out a detailed quote with a number of alternatives on parts. He answered all my questions clearly and in a timely manner. Scheduled work was performed well and on time. I am very happy I found his shop.

Ben did an accptable job on my 525i, but price was too high and I wish I was better informed prior to repair.

Ben and the lady that works with him (unfortunately I didn't catch her name) were both very friendly and helpful!

They also charge reasonable prices for the job that needs to get done. They've always gotten my car back to me in a timely manner. Highly recommended if you ever need to get your car fixed!

I had taken my car to this shop twice before with no issues, but after my most recent experience, I…read morestrongly encourage everyone to get a second opinion. Rey quoted me $1,594.36 for a repair that another shop fixed for just $180. That is clear price gouging. On top of that Joe was very aggressive and attempted to blame me and my wife for the issues he had missed. My first visit was in June last year for an oil change, which was done quickly and without problems. The second visit was in February for a heat issue with coolant leaking under the car. The repair was completed within a day or two. However, after I had already paid, Rey mentioned an additional $200-$300 repair needed for the AC to work properly in the summer. I found it odd that he waited until after payment to bring this up. When I asked questions, he became defensive, repeatedly emphasized how busy they were, and told me not to touch the AC button because if I did I would not be able to turn it back to the heat. He suggested bringing the car back in the summer when I needed the AC. In early May, my wife and I brought the car back to fix the AC issue and address the check engine light so we could pass emissions. We dropped it off around 8 a.m., and it was ready by early afternoon. Before paying, I asked to speak with Rey, who now said there was no AC issue and that the heat and cold were both working fine. When I questioned the inconsistency from February, he again cited having 20-30 cars a day and not remembering details unless noted on the intake sheet. I told him that we had sent a clear email with our requests, but I guess that wasn't properly transferred to him. I asked to check the car together. Rey complained multiple times about being too busy but confirmed the AC and heat worked. I then confirmed with Joe twice that the charges covered the AC repair and check engine light fix before paying. After leaving, I noticed the engine light was still on. When I returned, Joe immediately tried to blame my wife for not communicating the emissions request. I showed him our email, and he agreed to waive the inspection fee and fix it. However, Joe was extremely aggressive, swearing at me and demanding a "yes or no" answer even though I had already agreed to leave the car. After a brief cooldown, I addressed his behavior, and he eventually apologized. The next day, Rey called and quoted $1,594.36 to replace three parts (canister, fuel valve, and pressure sensor) for the P0456 code. I asked Rey if he had done the EVAP smoke test, he confirmed and went on to say that all 3 parts were leaking and all had to be replaced. Skeptical after all the previous issues, I took the car elsewhere. The new mechanic fixed it in about one hour for only $180. He said the problem was a very small, easily fixed issue in the canister, and that Rey had likely not performed an EVAP smoke test and was not truthful about all three parts leaking.

Because I have had the rotars replaced on my brakes done several times on different cars over the years, and this was the least I ever paid. I remember when he stepped away a few years ago and the place became a dive rip off joint you would want to stay away from, which I did. I was happy Greg came back again but now he is gone and I am never ever going to set foot in that place again. I remember a few months ago asking Greg about getting a Transmission Flush done, he told me they had no machine to do that work, properly, ya know I would have not had a clue it takes a special machine to do that job right, Greg explained it clearly to me, I thought about it later and he could have ripped me off I would have not known the difference. But he is not that kind of a guy & thats why I will miss him and the service he provided my family on our cars. I saw an add a few days after my last visit & it said transflush, I called him about what I read, again he said the shop has no machine to do it right. I wonder what else this shop should have to complete a job right but doesn't. I would say to others who need work done Do Not Trust this Place now ! they will rip you off big time, you won't even know they ripped you off without Greg there to over see the work done.

The BEST BEST BEST customer service, in the service dept!!!…read more I've come to expect mediocre customer service these days, so when the customer service is excellent, I am so taken aback and giddy. That's what happened to me at this Pep Boys. Now, I've been here once before, and received the same treatment from another employee, so this was not a one-off. The headlight was out on my car, and yeah, I could probably YouTube it and attempt to change it myself, but that just seems like something I would never ever do. I didn't want to get a ticket, so I stopped here on my way home from work. Now, the location is tucked away, and you really can only see it if you are on top of the bridge on Cicero. It is kind of behind the Aldi/WalMart. It is worth looking for and stopping in. I was in and out in about 5-minutes. The cost was beyond fair, and much less than I expected to pay. I believe Elias was the name of the gentleman that took care of me. He was honestly one of the nicest people that I've dealt with in a while. It was at the end of his long day, and he was in the middle of fixing a car, but you'd never know it. I walked out of there feeling so happy and satisfied, with a smile on my face, knowing I wasn't ripped off and knowing I will be back for any future needs. I highly recommend!

Little did I know that my right rear passenger side tire that was leaking air regularly for the last several months would be placed on the front passenger side. How could they actually replace my right passenger front tire with the defective right rear tire? I called on Monday 3 days later with the complaint that my alert on my dashboard indicates that the front passenger side tire is down more than 10 psi!!!! I called Pep Boys and was told to come in and they will "take a look at it". I came in the same day and told Ivan that I believe the defective tire was moved to the front. I am experiencing the same dashboard warning that I previously had with the passenger rear tire that was replaced on Friday. Ivan checked the front passenger tire and told me that there was a loss of air around the stem that he repaired. Ivan assured me that I would not have anymore problems with that tire. Now today is Thursday in the same week and guess what? I got another alert on my dashboard indicating low pressure in the front passenger tire yet AGAIN! I called the store after I got time at work. This time I asked to speak to the manager. He said "bring it in and I'll take a look at it." I initially asked to have one of my old tires put back on Monday but Ivan glossed over that. Now I am asking the manager to do the same and he says those tires are gone. I am a recent widow and do not want to stop and put air in my tires every other day!! That is why I replaced two tires. I did not buy cheap tires from Pep Boys but now I am sorry I chose them to buy tires from!!!!
