Beautiful view from the dining room!

Really wonderful restaurant! The staff are incredibly nice and friendly and the food is fantastic!! Really good lemonade, clam chowder, and house bread. And the Molho Cru is just outstanding, I really recommend trying it! Also the view of the warf and ocean from the dining room is simply stunning!!!

We wandered down the warf and found a place that could seat us (hard to find sit down restaurants) we were told 20-30, after 15 there were 2 seats at the bar that we took because there was full service. The bartender was lovely, although got our raw bar Oder confused , dinner was on point and delicious. My issues was listening to the servers complaining about their tables (mainly one server who got others to chime in) and it ruined dinner for me. As a former server, you don't verbally complain about your guess until the night is OVER! Really bummed me out. Never saw a manager... maybe there isn't one on a Sunday. Kitchen staff and bussers were so busy!

If you like your steamers coated in sand, this is the place for you! Don't get me wrong, I am New England born and bred, have gone clamming, and know that clams burrow in the sand. This is why you rinse the sand off the steamers, even if you don't have time to give them a corn meal bath. It would seem they plucked the mollusks from the beach and threw them in a bowl after a quick boil, making sure to preserve the foundation of the Atlantic for the presentation. Sure, they give you an oily broth to attempt to remove the sand yourself - quite generous of them (I am sure this is the establishment's thought process). The grit will damage your tooth enamel and quickly collect under your fingernails. There was no hope of salvaging these poor mollusks. The oysters were okay and served with a cocktail sauce and a marinade that would have worked well if you were grilling a steak. Had been craving a shrimp cocktail but now happy they were out of shrimp (odd, though, since every other item on the menu appeared to be comprised of some sort of shrimp concoction). Apparently, this was a saving grace. My daughter's hamburger was essentially a hockey puck, well done and flavorless. Limited drink menu. Waitress was nice but clearly new to the trade. Many other diners who came in after us received their drinks and food before us and were able to make their escape ahead of us. Runners did not seem to know the table numbers and presented our food to several other tables (except ours, naturally) even though we tried to flag them down, and the waitress ended up delivering the food a few minutes after it had been brought back to the kitchen. We ended up getting some ice cream around the corner, then ordered delivery when getting home. The location is what this restaurant has going for it. That's it. Don't waste your money.

We ended up here because the place we were heading to was booked. It worked out well. We were even able to get a window table on the water. Our server was enthusiastic about the menu. She somehow convinced us to try octopus. I'm glad I tried it but I'm not a big seafood person. I had an excellent salad with cranberry and walnuts. My husband loved his fried clams. Portions were good size. Just enough. If you are hoping for rooftop dining, don't visit until next year. There was storm damage that still needs repair. Our view was nice at least.

My wife and I put our name in with a really nice hostess for lunch. Holiday weekend. They were slammed. We get it. The location is prime time for Bareskin Neck. Waitress was great. But I was bummed their tap was down so no local Rockport drafts. They did have cans though. We had oysters and split a lobster roll. Both were pretty good but neither blew us away. Lobster was good but underwhelming and fries were standard. We think the touristy spot took away from the food quality. Atmosphere was great and everyone was super nice but just underwhelmed for $120 lunch.

A priceless New England ocean view.
    John H.

Please keep in mind that this restaurant is only open on a seasonal basis. However, if you have to opportunity to visit it, then you'll be able to not only support a locally owned family business, but moreover you'll get to experience top-notch seafood cuisine with a priceless classic New England on the water view. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The menu has diversity for most peoples pallets and their drink menu definitely has something for everyone on it. I would rank this place as a must visit if you're in the area.

Our hostess Daphne and bar tender Jami made us feel right at home quickly arranging seats at the bar on a busy Saturday night. Our high spirits were matched by Jami who was kind, super efficient and friendly. I ordered their famous chowder on Jami's recommendation and loved every bite of it. I chose the sea bass on a bed of spinach and garlic mashed potatoes as did the rest of our group with the exception of one lobster ravioli. All our meals were fabulous! Total clean plate club that night. For dessert I had the creme brûlée in the classic preparation as light as air with a crackly caramel crust and perfect vanilla custard. Such a joyful evening made even more memorable by a splendid culinary adventure and the true hospitality and creativity of people who love what they do and who do it so well. This review is from awhile ago…read more I would really recommend this place. It was our first time at Pigeon Cove. We enjoyed it very much. So this is an upscale eatery, part of a hotel. We just loved the atmosphere. As you c an see from the pictures this is a really nice place with lovely decor and wonderful service. And before I talk about the food I must mention our wonderful server Amanda. I rarely mention server's names unless they are incredible and that is what Amanda was. Both my dad and I agreed she was one of the best server s we have ever had anywhere. Ask for her table if you go! So not being from the area, we did not know what to expect. The menu is small but nice. I myself had a burger. My dad had Crab and Avacado. I did not partake in that because I had just had crab the day before. It sure looked good though and ac cording to my dad it was! Burger was huge. And very good. I however could not finish it. Oh..we both had Sangria. I think it was maybe the tastiest Sangria I have ever had. Just look at the pics! The reason I did not give it a higher score (although a 3 is not bad) is just because the menu is quite limited. I wish there had been more choices. Also the burger was a bit overdone. But the taste was good plus the Sangria was picture perfect and the service beyond wonderful. So to sum up..great evening with yummy good in an upscale atmosphere with great service. I look forward to visiting again if in the area.

Located right above the beautiful Vino E Vivo restaurant (see prior review), it's the new HIT spot in Exeter. Only about 20 minutes or so from Portsmouth but a fun spot for cocktails, wine and dessert. Ambiance is chill with comfy bar seats, side tables and bartenders that can shake, sitr and whip up almost any cocktail to your liking. We did share their Amaro Flip which was fabulous. I know we will be back for sure since they offer small plates and decadent desserts too. Cheers~

Sitting above sister restaurant Vino e Vivo, chefs Nick and Paul bring elevated small and large plates to this casual setting. Cocktails were great, as you might expect. Head bartender Chris has a creative list of cocktails and I'm sure could mix up anything else you might desire. We tried several small and large plates. Really hard to call out a favorite as they were all good. The Parsnip soup was creamy, rich and delicious with several touches such as crisped rice and basil oil on top that really made this a standout. Beet tartare was great as well with rich delicious beet flavor and texture reminiscent of beef tartare. Don't miss the cornbread with pork belly butter! Service is warm and friendly and chef Nick ran many of the dishes to the tables and bar personally. You could see (and taste) the passion he has for food.
