My husband and I went around 5:00 on 7/2/26 and had no problem getting a table right away. My husband ordered a cold lobster roll and the fish tacos. He thought both were delicious. There was a good amount of lobster. The fish tacos had a little kick to them. I got the seafood stuffed pineapple and I honestly think it's the best meal I have ever had in my life! I love the curry coconut cream. It didn't have a strong curry flavor to it, it was the perfect blend of coconut and pineapple. There was a lot of seafood inside and the rice was delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could have it again. I need to learn how to recreate it! read more

What a fun experience it was to enjoy igloo dining at this venue. We had been to this restaurant in 2020, at the height of the COVID pandemic and ate in one of the igloos. I'm happy to report that the igloos available now are so much nicer, big, bright and clear and you can enjoy all of the beautiful water views. There is however a fee of $15pp for this experience. We dined with some friends and everybody enjoyed their cocktails and food. I started with the bang bang shrimp appetizer. What a bargain for $18! There were maybe 8-10 very large shrimp, and they were perfectly cooked. The fried haddock/chips was great, fish was crispy and delicious, but unfortunately the fries were not good and did not match the caliber of the food served. Limp, and probably were hanging around under a heat lamp :-( Overall, service was OK. Food arrived fairly staggered and one entree was very late. The runner confessed and said he dropped the plate and it had to be remade. It would have been nice if the server informed us. Despite the minor service hiccups (very young and likely inexperienced staff), the atmosphere and food are worth it. Give them a try! read more

Sunday morning: beautiful sun and low 70's! What a place to have breakfast. This is ideal October in New England! I was sat in the tent area, which was only going to be set up for one more weekend so I was lucky! The pier/dock area also had tables where you could eat and enjoy the incredible view! I loved how there was a TV on for Sunday morning NFL previews and the vibe was welcoming! I ordered my favorite....french toast, bacon and home fries with a large white milk. I am not a coffee drinker so the milk has always been a staple for me. I was alone so it was pretty fast....park the car, walk in, get a table, order and eat. I kind of liked it but I was hoping my wife was with me as she would have loved eating on the pier. The food came quickly. All of it was awesome! Cooked perfectly! Portions were great and the milk was nice and cold! I loved the French toast the most. It was thick and prepared just the way I liked it! I plan to bring my family back sometime in November. It will be eating inside but that is ok! We will have to remember next Spring/Summer to take advantage of the pier/tent area! Went again to see Dave Bailin play outside. He really is great, took requests, always a good time. I got lobster roll with side salad. It was fine. Pricey of course. Good for a tourist, for me we get them at a special place in Beverly - Joe's on a Roll, check out my review! Hubby got a linguine pesto dish with seared scallops. It was very good. Very good. Pasta was definitely fresh, not cooked from dry. Pesto sauce was a little creamy and tasty. Scallops done perfectly and a generous amount given. Large serving. Service was good. At one point someone new came over to ask if we had ordered yet and we had. So perhaps a bit disorganized. Some of the busboys did look quite young. They were still very professional and capable. Also, there was a young alight woman (probably high school) who dropped a tray full of food, and a more senior woman, obviously quite experienced, came right over to help in such a really nice, mentoring way. The young woman returned with another tray and wasn't flustered at all. Was really nice to see this. We were sitting right by kitchen door. Super sad to write this. After really loving our visits here and honestly becoming regulars our last visit was horrible. I booked for Valentine's Day as early as I could (my husband, son and myself). We arrived and the young lady at the front brought us to the absolute back of the restaurant, there was a half-moon table facing the outside. I asked if we can move because this was a super sad table for Valentine's Day...facing a window (not each other, it's like sitting at a bar with a child...all in a line)...She scoffed and said, "umm no" looked at the other hostess and laughed...this completely caught me off guard. I got defensive and said I couldn't believe this is even a table being offered, there was a table open up front, and we can't be expected to sit here especially with a child, and we had made reservations ahead to make sure this was special. An adjacent table of 4- actually stepped in and said they were leaving soon and said they should seat us there. The scoffer just said "um no someone has that seat'...the older lady repeated what I said that it was a horrible seat to put anyone never mind a family. I smiled and thanked them for trying to help us. The girls said they will go check if they have another seat. We knew we couldn't accept that seat, so we followed them to the front. One of the managers (the older gentleman) was surprisingly rude, he said, "a table is a table" and it's first come first served. I mentioned we made a reservation early to make this special and just can't sit there. All this while they have an empty table and the other table that was leaving...I asked why they couldn't sit us at an actual normal table. The other manager stepped in and immediately offered us the table that had been open since we walked in. I thanked him greatly. This WHOLE time this could have been done... The waitress we had was lovely and the meal fantastic (which were all expected)...but that RUDE front-end girl glared each time she walked by! This ruined the night. We have not gone back since. I am so sad and disappointed. This was handled so poorly. I didn't review sooner but it's still a lasting feeling when we talk about where we should go to dinner, my husband wants to give it another go since we've had so many positive experiences, but I am I guess bitter and not over it yet. In the end if you are planning a special dinner be sure to say you don't want to back table until you understand what it is. Terribly disappointing food experience. The staff and ambiance was lovely, and it was a great view of the harbor, but the food and drinks I tried left much to be desired. I tried three different cocktails from my party that were made way too strong, and one coconut mocktail that was quite refreshing. For food, the highlight was the pita and dips appetizer. Went here for Father's Day my fiancé got the French toast and coffee she asked for a cream she got none my sone got pancakes with bananas and butter got no banana and no butter I ordered the smoked salmon with cream cheese tomato red onion I got no cream cheese when we told the sever she said she was sorry and went to get the missing stuff meanwhile there was only 3 other tables with multiple servers. Things have gone downhill. We used to go regularly but they got a new chef a couple of years ago and the menu and food is not very good. The menu has been dumbed down. The service has also gone downhill. Last year we went for dinner once, had a reservation, and waited over 30 minutes while looking at 2 empty tables by the water. The hostess finally said that we could sit at one of them. Today at lunch we waited 10 minutes at the hostess station before anyone approached. We were seated and given water and menus, and waited 10 more minutes before our waitress took our order. We got items that we've previously gotten and liked. Not so much today. Our food came out 20 minutes later and we had no silverware, so some was scavenged from a nearby table. My fried chicken sandwich had been cooked for far too long and the coating was separated from the chicken and shattered as I bit into it. Not good. The fries have gone downhill as well. They were blasting reggae and it was just too much for a weekday lunch. We won't be back. read more

Had a great experience here on the outdoor deck. I like to come here at least once every summer and the beautiful early october weather was the perfect time to visit! Overlooking the marina, it's a beautiful location. We started with scallops Rockefeller which was very good, the scallops were a little overcooked making them rubbery but the flavor was good. Hidden jewel is the mashed potatoes under the shell that keeps it in place! For dinner I had the lobster grilled cheese which had a good amount of lobster and was buttery, cheesy and delicious. A bit pricey at $39 but very good. My date had fish and chips, a generous fresh portion. The fries with each meal are thin, hand cut and delicious. Cocktails were also great. Service was good - not too pushy but checked in often enough for cocktails, etc. Could not possibly eat dessert! read more

My husband and I had lunch here on The Fourth of July and it was fantastic! We sat at the bar and had a beautiful view of the marina. The bartender was very kind and efficient. He made me an awesome blood orange margarita and my husband had his usual IPA, Maine Lunch. I ordered their Protein Bowl and he - the haddock Reuben. Both dishes were very tasty and plentiful. We were watching the busy wait staff carry out these delicious looking meals to patrons and the manager (Myles) walked by and said, "you're window shopping!" LOL! We told him the last time we had dined here, (about 4 years ago) we weren't impressed but decided to give it another go because our friends recently raved about it. Myles is the new manager and told us about the many positive changes. On our exit, Myles gave us a tour of the indoor adjacent restaurant and new bar, also overlooking the water and let's just say, we'll be back! read more

Stay away from Mile Marker 1 restaurant in Gloucester, MA!!! They are outright THIEVES!!! My wife and I went there for lunch on 8/30/25 and had seats at the bar. We ordered our meals and one drink each. Service was absolutely horrible, as the barkeep/waiter seemed to be more interested in schmoozing with two couples at the far end of the bar, and talking with other staff. It was bad enough that he left the menus in front of us the whole time, but when we asked for a to-go box, we were completely ignored. We had to ask other people three times before we got one. But that's not even the worst of it. I always write -0- in the tip section of the bill because I believe in providing cash tips. And usually 30% or more. So I left 10% due to poor service. After arriving home, there were $10 EXTRA DOLLARS added to the bill I had signed!!! I called the restaurant and explained what happened, and they said they'd look into it and get back to me. They called me about 2 hours later and stated that I was right, and the barkeep had added the extra $10 to the bill I had signed!!! They told me they would refund the $10. When I asked what would happen to that barkeep, I was told he would be written up. SERIOUSLY!!!??!! This was outright THEFT and FRAUD!!! I can't tell them how to run their business, but had *I* been in charge, it would have led to an IMMEDIATE termination!!! How can anyone have the audacity and nerve to alter a customers' SIGNED BILL? Furthermore, how can management even TOLERATE such behavior? They didn't even offer to comp our meal, or offer a gift card for another visit. Just returned the stolen $10. Went last night and was sat down by the hostess and no one came to the table for 10-15 minutes. I had to ask the hostess TWICE for a server. The bus people and runners could not have been bothered to help or pour water. We ordered appetizers, salad and entrees and our entrees came out first. They took the entrees back and the runner more or less threw the appetizer on the table. Then the salad arrived and when we're halfway through our apps and salad the cold entrees were redelivered. Ex. Poached egg was served as hard boiled. Chicken and waffles were burnt (after being served the wrong dish previously). Beautiful view, even in the winter. It was great that they had heated igloos accompanied by blankets and heaters. The appetizers were the star of the show! The shrimp, scallops and muscles were wonderful. They had smash burgers and other options for those who do not eat seafood. Though we made our reservation weeks in advance, the kitchen staff, host, and the manager I met were unfriendly and seemed bothered by our presence. Our waitress was amazing. I wish I remember her name. She had dark hair, tattoos, and left her own restaurant for here in order to be the care taker of her ill husband. We have been regular Mile Marker customers, until today. The food has always been excellent, the waiters' service quick and cordial, the view great. But twice recently, including today, the front desk reception has been so careless, bored, incompetent and rude that we will not be going back any time soon. In winter, when customers are few, the front desk is all smiles. In summer, specially on busy days, they make you wait for 45 minutes after telling you it will be a 15 min wait, leave you standing for ages with absolutely no information (instead of telling you the approximate wait time and letting you sit down), and are totally incompetent at keeping the order of customers arriving straight, so latecomers are often attended to first. As regular and formerly loyal customers, we were quite disgusted by their dismissive treatment today (we are seniors and they have seen us many times before). We do NOT recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want an unpleasant experience at the front door, particularly in summer. It's a real shame. because the food and inside chefs and good waitstaff deserve better, and so do the customers. read more

A staff member aggressively slammed a door in my face--without warning or signage--and curtly told me to walk all the way around the restaurant to re-enter. Not only was there no apology, but her attitude was downright hostile and made us feel completely unwelcome. My husband saw the entire incident and immediately spoke to the manager, Tom, who showed zero concern or interest in addressing the situation. It was clear that customer experience means nothing to this establishment, and they have no problem with their staff being openly aggressive to guests. This was a truly awful end to our afternoon, and we will never return. If you value being treated with basic respect, do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. This restaurant clearly does not care about its customers or the behavior of its staff. I ordered the fried haddock sandwich which came with potato salad. The sandwich was so good, and the tartar sauce complimented it well. The portions were large, and the service was fast. Wow, this is a great summer spot! Made a reservation so that we could pass by for a late lunch/early dinner (4pm) after going to Wingershaek Beach. It's about a 10 minute drive. Came in mid-May with some pretty perfect weather. There is plenty of parking, with some signage pointing where to park and find the restaurant. A reservation seems to be the best way to get a table, as there were some folks who were turned down as walk-ins as it was a busy Saturday afternoon/evening. To eat, I started off with a ginger lemon cocktail ($12) that was delicious! We then had the margharita pizza and side House salad & the oysters/ lobster roll. WOW - really great! Would definitely recommend sitting on the deck once the weather gets nice ... it is a summer go-to! Will definitely be back. Free parking, great service. read more

Do not waste your time and money. I've tried this place so many times over the years, always hopeful that it would be better, they have changed chefs too many times to count, so I tried to remain hopeful. first of all the dining room (went 10/27/24 so no outside seating option) is next to the pool so it reeks of chlorine, not great. We sat in the comfy seating across from the empty bar (why no one working behind there for Sunday brunch? no one seated there either, so odd) At a huge window overlooking the boats and docks, great...except the dozens of dead fruit flies on the window sills and dozens more in the window and dive bombing us the whole time, I should have left then, but still I persisted. Menu is small but decent variety. Started with coffee, asked for non-dairy milk but server said nope, cream or milk only, ok, fine...except I look at the cocktail menu and there's a specialty espresso drink with "fresh cashew cream"....hmmmm ok. I ordered the Sweet Potato and Brussels Sprout Hash, my companion ordered the Huevos Rancheros and we split a short stack of pancakes. My meal comes and it's a NOPE from the start, legit thought it was fruit salad or boiled dinner, I did try a Brussels Sprout just to make sure, practically raw and boiled. What is "Hash" about this situation? I sent it back and said I didn't want anything else. The kitchen sent another one as they got the eggs wrong as well, but it was the same raw boiled dinner situation so nope. My companion said her Huevos were good. Pancake was good, we got blueberries and strawberries and they seemed fresh. But, it was little comfort, never again. The flies were out of control and no one cared. They kept flying in my cream for my coffee which the server did offer to bring me new but I said I wasn't really using it anyway. I was by myself this day and elected to eat at the bar. I ordered a half dozen raw oysters to start. I think Wellfleet oysters are the best but that's a personal preference. The 6 cost $22.50, I can buy 6 Wellfleet oysters for $18 in a few Cape Restaurants, so not a great deal from my point of view. Wanted the scallops but didn't want them fried. The bartender/waiter said they could do them another way and I chose to have them grilled, side Caesar salad, and it's a vacation so fries was the 2nd side, $27. 2 full pour, glasses of a house Cabernet Sauvignon (Alexander Valley) $12/glass. Lovely view of the Harbor and moored Boats. Love the atmosphere of this place. All in all it was a really nice lunch, just think the oysters could be a better price point. I would have given 5 stars for food and service but unfortunately a great night became a very frustrating night when my friend who is in a wheelchair needed to use the bathroom. I was shocked and angry that a hotel/restaurant would not have a handicap accessible bathroom stall. There is no reason that one of the 4 stalls could not have been converted into a handicap stall. The irony is that right outside the bathroom there is pool with a handicap lift so she could have used the pool but not the bathroom?!? read more

Everything about the Benedict was perfect - grilled English muffin, grilled Black Forest ham, perfectly poached eggs and just the right amount of hollandaise.
