    Pastries!

Waited for the hype to die down and finally got around to visiting! Located in the same plaza as Super Hmart in Niles. I came Friday morning around 10am and it wasn't super busy with lots of pastries left. I don't how busy it gets on the weekend but I heard they sellout fast. As you walk in, pastries are to your left and the cafe is to your right. There are 2 kiosks right when you enter to order drinks from the cafe. After you order a drink, grab a tray and shop around! Lots of different kinds of pastries to choose from! All unique, light, and delicious! I highly recommend the egg tarts!! From the cafe, I got a sea salt matcha latte which was soo good and they made it so fast!

Very impressed with the selection of bakery choices they have to offer. The drinks are also good and I tried the Vietnamese coffee with boba although the boba took 30mins to cook cause they ran out.my favorite bun is Hokkaido bun, the cream was light, perfectly sweetened, bun is fluffy. My other favorite is the ube bread. Didn't have a chance to try ube mochi bread but will definitely visit again. Overall the restaurant is spacious and clean, service is quick and the girls that were making the drinks were so nice and friendly!

The selection dies down towards the afternoon and early evening. I take what I can get because I live in the city and it almost always is a chance encounter that I'm in the area. My drinks usually come fast after ordering and I have not had issues here.

Saw this spot on tiktok and finally gave it a shot. The customer service is alright, workers were pretty nice. They will answer any questions you have. Prices are a little high tho. 3.65 for something similar to a cheese danish, its 2026 but still can't justify that price for a 3 inch circular pastry which weighs about half an ounce. Also got the vietnamese coffee. This is why I'm leaving 2 stars: The entire cup was FULL of ice. I mean it mustve been a 16 ounce cup or something, and you get maybe 6 ounces of coffee. It tasted decent, but nothing I cant make at home. Huge ripoff. These boutique coffee places are getting out of hand. Save yourself the trip. Ice, coffee and condensed milk. You're welcome. Def not recommending this place.

I have been excited to try this place but at every visit so far, they have run out of items even when getting there early. it's always disappointing when they are the only 85c in town and i drive out of the way to try the items they rave about on their social media... and they're "sold out". they open at 8 and they are sold out by 9? and ive been there on a saturday when its not even close to closing and they are sold out of almost all bakery items with only drinks available. i happened to get lucky and get a few items the other day and thought the breads were good but not worth the drive anymore. they don't have the breads they used to have with the mochi-like textures and it is too unpredictable what items they will have

We were in the area and decided to come by to try this cafe after hearing so much about it. We came a bit later in the day and they were running out of things and on a Saturday it does get a bit hectic. When we walked in there were lines everywhere and people were grabbing things like their lives depended on it. We got a few pastries to try along with a Vietnamese coffee and mango green tea. Both of which were delicious and we would recommend. I think there just needs to be some organization and perhaps signage to tell people where to get their drinks and wait, and where to order. Can't wait to come back and try other things, maybe on an off time. :)

If you love pastries that melt, flake, crackle, and crunch in all the right ways... 85°C Bakery Café is your new best friend. Every pastry on my table was unreal: the almond croissant was buttery and crisp on the outside with the softest layers inside; the cheese bread had that glossy, chewy exterior and sweet creamy pockets; the chocolate bun was rich, moist, and cocoa-packed; and the pineapple bun had that signature sugary crust that breaks like a cookie. Paired it with a creamy iced matcha and a caramel coffee frappe that tasted like liquid dessert. Between the freshness, the textures, and the warm bakery aroma filling the entire place... this is top-tier bakery bliss.

I was excited when 85°C Bakery Cafe made its way to the Midwest, but every time I visit, there never seem to be any pastries available. I tried the Zebra Oolong Milk Tea, but it was way too sweet for my taste. Convenient if you're passing through the city, but the menu and flavors didn't quite live up to the hype for me. We got a slice of cake and sadly it was dry! Buns were pretty good though if they have any for you to try.

I usually love 85° pastries but this time they were only alright, unfortunately. I liked the choco bun and ube bun I got, but the red bean bun and sugar butter wreath were too sweet to me. This Niles location has a couple gender neutral restrooms and a few tables to eat/do some work at.

Welcome to Chicagoland! Always our fave spot when in West Coast. Known for their price & good quality. Disappointing that not all the bread is available and often times shelf is empty. Glad that the quality is the same as in West Coast locations and taste the same.

Despite an abundance of nearby Asian Bakeries (Tous Les Jours, Paris Baguette, etc.) in the area, I was excited to see this 85 C location open. Maybe because of great experiences on the west coast, Kansas, and Asia with this spot -- but also maybe because the options are a bit different from the French style asian bakeries nearby (and Hong Kong style in Chinatown). This location did not disappoint with an attractive looking interior, plenty of choices, friendly service and lots of parking. It's hard to go wrong with anything you order here. The pastries are always good but the cakes and other desserts in the case are my favorite for a special treat. These are made with quality ingredients and are a bit lighter in flavor and less sweet than western style bakeries, which is balanced by great presentation and refined flavors. Overall worth a special trip if you're a fan of Asian style bakeries. As of this writing, the only two other spots "nearby" to enjoy these treats is Overland Park, Kansas and soon Blaine, Minnesota. There's a good reason why there's over 1000 locations worldwide, which I think is pretty clear once you've tried their delicious offerings.

Always love this renowned Taiwanese bakery and café chain, and I was thrilled when it opened in Chicago! I've been to that block for H Mart and boba before, and it definitely wasn't there back then, so it was such a nice surprise! When my boyfriend and I arrived, we grabbed a table right away since there were only a few available. Then we started picking out our bakery items -- both savory and sweet -- including bread, a croissant, and egg tarts. We tried some of them on the spot, and they tasted authentic to me (I'm Taiwanese). I also ordered iced coffee from the kiosk. We got the 85°C coffee and the pumpkin matcha oat milk latte, and both were excellent. The 85°C coffee had a stronger, more intense coffee flavor, while the pumpkin latte was rich and delicious. We really enjoyed the bakery items and drinks. The only downside is that they don't offer guest Wi-Fi, so we couldn't stay to get work done. We ended up heading to the Niles Library afterward.

Everything was amazing but I have not tried their cakes. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable.

And ever since I don't work downtown anymore, I needed to search the northwest burbs for the best chocolate cake. There was always this franchise (Portillo's) that served their famous chocolate cakes by the slice. It was moist and really good. And they remained the best one for such a long time since I really couldn't find any worthy competitors around the northwest burbs, until I saw this tiny shop along Waukegan road-Ganache Bakery. I had to go inside and see what they havd to offer. The word Ganache alone was enough for me to seek em out. Lo and behold, they had Chocolate Cake with ganache icing inside! It was soft and moist and melted in your mouth! I was in heaven! Finally, a place I knew would supply me with the best chocolate cake worthy of any grand celebration. Unfortunately, after the third and fourth purchase, I noticed that it didn't taste the same as the first time we had it. It wasn't as light as the initial experience. It was actually a bit heavier, more dense. It was still moist but, it just wasn't the same anymore. Oh well, the search is back on.

The first was for a St. Patrick's Day party, where I had ordered a tray with 2 pounds of cookies. When I arrived, I noticed that the tray didn't have St. Patrick's Day cookies, just regular cookies. The owner was the one waiting on me, and when I mentioned this to him he apologized immediately, said there must've been a miscommunication, and asked me if I could wait five or 10 minutes and they'd make a brand new tray for me. It probably would've been okay if I took the original tray, but I knew our group really wanted St. Patrick's Day themed desserts for this party of about 40 people. So I said sure I could wait, and the tray they put together was absolutely beautiful. Besides the cookies, it also included some little plastic St. Patrick's Day themed rings and other decorations. Fast forward to last week, when I was tasked with bringing the dessert for a monthly board meeting. I called and again spoke with the owner, and explained what I needed. I thought it would be fun to bring some holiday-themed items, and I had seen a picture of their Yule logs on their website, so I inquired about those. We chatted about it, he asked me the type of cake and filling, I also ordered a 1 pound box of cookies and a gluten-free cupcake for one of our members, and I picked them up before the meeting two days later. Everything was absolutely perfect. Their Yule logs are beautiful - mine looked exactly like the picture on their website - and again there were little rings and other decorations on it. One of the other board members was so impressed with it that she immediately said she was ordering her own for the holidays and took several pictures of it, and everyone asked me what bakery I used. Oh, and the cookies and cupcake were great, too! I have a feeling they'll be getting some more business from our group from this for sure, as they should!
