Caramel Pretzel donut and chocolate dipped rollie croissant
    Lina W.

Oh man, it's so hard to exercise self control to avoid this stall when walking into H Mart. I've never had a bad pastry here and they're not easy on the wallet. Pastries are fresh, light, never too sweet, and well packaged. These are great to treat yourself or even ask them to box up as a gift when visiting friends or loved ones. Their cream filled croissants and tarts with fruits are awesome. I recently tried their seasonal caramel pretzel donut and it was Devine.... Fluffy light donut with a thin caramel glaze filled with whipped airy custard... already thinking about getting another one. The chocolate dipped rollie croissant with chocolate whipped cream inside is delicious too. The ladies always kindly package my pastries carefully too which I appreciate.

I have been searching for the perfect croissant since moving to the north shore. I can honestly say, I found it at Paris Baguette. The light, buttery, flaky crust with the layers and layers of soft dough inside make this my go to for croissants. Because I was trying it out for the first time, I didn't buy any of the pastries... but you can count on me going back here over and over again. The service is... fine. You walk around with a tray and add the items you plan to purchase, take it to the register (which there aren't enough), pay for you food and sit in the void. That is how it felt when you first walk in. Concrete floors with some tables. Nothing particularly appealing. Just somewhere to sit. But honestly, the croissants are the draw. I have a baguette as well. It is exactly what a baguette should be. Bravo on the rocking baked goods!

This bakery had a lot of delicious bakery items! I just got the red bean with custard puff pastry and it was really tasty, the outside was crispy and the filling had just the right amount of sweetness! I wish it had more of the filling though! It had a lot at both ends but when you got to the middle part, it was very light! It was a really cute place and had plenty of parking! The staff were very friendly and helpful!

Paris Baguette serves buttery croissants, indulgent pastries, and light, flavorful cakes. Pair with coffee or matcha for a quick, delightful treat. My favorite is the butter pecan latte. Friendly service, but seating fills up fast. Everything smells and tastes great. Can't wait to stop by again!

Service 5 stars Cake 5 stars Bread is overrated but I won't knock a star off since I find myself buying cakes from here quite often. I used to go to their competitor TLJ but since this location is closer, I find myself here for any birthday celebrations. Here's what I've tried: -Blueberry Yogurt Cake: blueberry flavor, so creamy with yogurt cream. It's delicious! -Chocolate Chiffon Cake: it's my absolute fave! Chocolate cake with chocolate mouse; the best part is the chocolate crunch pieces that are in between cake layers. -Rainbow cake: as beautiful as it looks, it is terrible. Do yourself a favor and don't buy it! It tastes like food coloring. We bought a whole cake and barely finished 2 slices prior to going in the garbage.

$2-3 for a very hollow cheese bread. It essentially is a Brazilian cheese bread pão de queijo but with sesame. Not sure if it's worth the dollar but can't go wrong with it, it's always very tasty. This one is very hard shelled though, inside is chewy like you'd expect.

Located inside the H-Mart, just to the right of the entrance. It replaces what had seemed like a carousel of Korean Bakery businesses in that location. I truly hope this one sticks around though! Amazing cakes, and baked goods. They have quite a selection of buns and croissants that you would expect from a Korean Bakery. I've heard the cakes are exceptional but haven't tried one yet! Although they're a little pricier than your average bakery it's worth it for a quality cake for special occasions. Cake orders require 48 hour notice, but they do have some in stock daily as well. I tried to get a picture of the baked goods I purchased but ate them before I got the chance! If you do get the buns/breads I highly recommend warming in the toaster oven for a few minutes for a freshly baked experience!

Wow! This bakery is AMAZING. My favorite bakery in whole of Chicago. The cake, bread and other baked items are delicious, rich with flavor and baking technique on some of them is good. The cake .. oh my.. hands down only place I'll buy my cakes for birthday or slices for tea or just desserts now. They sell out fast on some items so I'd go early.

    Tiramisu $6
    Stephanie S.

We got the $6 mocha cake and $6 tiramisu cup. My bf loves tiramisu and he thouht tiramisu was pretty good but we weren't a fan of the cake. It wasn't very mocha-y and my bf wished the cake was more airy. The chocolate wafer roll was a soft from the moisture of the cream. Over, it's a little pricey at $6 a single serving. The cakes were around $35-40. Service was slow. There was only 1 person working in the evening and he was making some drinks.

What a wonderful little bakery inside H Mart. The small business owners put so much love and attention to each of their products. This explains why there is always a line and why they are so packed particularly on weekends. The coffee with condensed milk is so good as other croissants and other savory baked goods. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

Its nice to be able to grab some bakery goods while shopping at HMart. The offerings are smaller than the other location but just as good. You are also able to use gift cards at this location.

So much love for this Korean French Bakery. All the items are works of art. The coffee is just as good as any Starbucks. There's plenty of parking and located in a nice Asian neighborhood full of restaurants, shopping, and beauty salons. There's so much to eat in the surrounding area from Glenview to Niles. There is no drive thru at this location so you will have to go in but you won't regret it.

Ordered the chocolate chiffon cake and pistachio macaron. Came out to be $10 and it wasn't huge either Chiffon was alright , light and airy but quite dry. Had little crispy chocolate things inside Pistachio macaron used real pistachio paste which is good, didn't have the crunch or chew I was looking for More on Instagram @midwestmunching

Went with their all spice mofawar, and a cleaner palate one Qishr since hubby wanted something tea-like. After ordering all that, we noticed there's a separate tea option that had a citrusy flavor so we got the sunlit tangerine also. The drinks were very strong in a whole mix of spice flavors, which I actually really liked, but it is a little too watery, not dense or creamy enough, and the coffee flavor lean a bit more too acidic/sour. It's not bad, but I think it's just not exactly to my liking. What I didn't realize was that a lot of the spices sunk to the bottom so when I remixed the thic layer of spices with oatmilk at home, it tasted pretty good with the right consistency. All of the drinks were pretty diluted in our opinion, and I think it's too much spice for my husband although I liked it. I also ordered some pastries, but the server packed the wrong one. If I didn't look closely enough I might've missed that. There was one last Dubai pistachio cookie which I asked for, but they gave me the Biscoff cookie instead which was a less expensive one. Anyway, they were fine switching it out after I pointed out, but no apologies or anything. While we weren't impressed with the drinks at first, the medovik mouse/honey layered cake was really good-- it was pretty dense where the buttery parts were, and it was pretty sweet so it balanced well with the acidic coffee. We didn't know the cookie had more fillings on the inside until we got home. The fillings had crunchy flakes which adds a really nice texture, and the filling is not too sweet. Really good. We liked the pastries a lot more than the coffee. Perhaps we just aren't used to the flavor and taste profile of the coffee. I'd be willing to try more here.

The cafe is immaculate and service was very friendly. The person who took our order was patient as he explained the different pastries in the case. I wish they had signs explaining what each pastry was so I could have decided while waiting in line. We ended up sharing an iced pistachio latte (delicious and 10/10!), the pistachio cheesecake (10/10!), and the strawberry mousse cake (7/10 - a subtle sweetness, great texture, but needed more cake or crust inside as it was mostly whipped cream and the shell). The mousse cake was $12.00, which felt steep considering it was mostly whipped cream, even though it was obviously beautiful. We would definitely come back for the coffee and to try more menu items! Check this place out!

I wanted to like it. I did. But after a few visits, it's just not for me…read more The first trip, I tried the Matari Tea: Green tea, Himalayan pink salt, milk, and spices, topped with roasted pistachios. Sounds good, right? Alas, it could not have been blander. I couldn't taste any "spices" or even the hint of salt. The profile was that of very watered-down tea mixed with milk, and a ton of pistachios floating on top. Like, barely crushed pistachios. Huge pieces, covering the top of the drink, bobbed around like tiny icebergs, and even they somehow had a toned-down flavor. The drink was definitely a swing and a miss. Fast forward two weeks, and I tried Matari again. This time with a simple cortado. I sat at the table right by the door, and the espresso was pretty good. Solid body, not too bitter. It was on the pricy side ($7+), but I was ok with that. But then, I'm hanging out, sipping my coffee, and I catch a burst of perfume-like scent. I'm shocked, but whatever, I figured someone in heavy perfume walked by, no big deal. A few minutes later, wham, I'm hit in the nose with another burst of perfume. Then, I see it. A slight haze around me. So, not a heavily perfumed woman after all, but an automated air-freshener. After further inspection, I see the unit plugged in on the ground right behind my chair, which sprays up and out on a timer. That's right, an air freshener right next to a table where people consume food and beverages, shooting a mist into the air that slowly rains down onto my head and table, and into my coffee. I ended up tossing the last few sips of my cortado, as I could taste the scented whatever-it-was in my cup. I'd have gone to the counter and asked for a new one, but I was so over my visit by then, I just opted to get out. The staff aren't very friendly. Not rude, but they don't give off a welcoming aura, and I didn't feel like trying to explain the issue. Lastly, can we talk about their little "your order is up" beepers? We've all seen them. The little electronic things that blink and make a noise when your order is ready, so you can go snag it from the counter. When I think of a coffee shop, I think quiet and peaceful, or perhaps a bit louder, with bustling people and well-paired music. At Matari, it's an insane BEEP BEEP BEEP that goes off every few minutes when an order is up. I get it, you don't want to bring the food out to your customers. But does it really need to feel like an airport Chili's? It's a bummer, because Matari is beautiful inside. It's clean, it's chic, and its location is at a notable crossroads in Skokie with plenty of parking, leaving it extremely convenient. They've even got an easy-to-use website, which so many coffee shops simply do not have. There aren't a lot of coffee shops in this particular part of town, which is why I so, so very much wanted to love Matari. But subpar drinks? Air freshener spray intrusions? Frequent and obnoxious beeping? I tried. I'm sorry. I just can't.

The bread always tastes incredibly fresh, whether you're eating it immediately there or in the car or saving some for breakfast the next morning. The drinks deserve recognition too. They're consistently good, surprisingly affordable, and pair perfectly with whatever baked goods you decide to bring home. My go to drink here is the jasmine milk tea with 50% sugar and light ice. It's rare to find a place where the quality is this high while the prices remain so reasonable. I've tried a variety of their drinks over the years, and they've yet to disappoint. I tried the waffle sticks, and they were absolutely incredible--fresh, perfectly made, and beyond delicious. Everything arrived in great condition, and I can't stop thinking about them. I'll definitely be stopping by in person soon to try even more from the menu. Highly recommend if you're craving an amazing dessert!

That being said, I tried The Madison, which is described as such: Neuske's bacon, creamy boursin, sharp cheddar, and a souffléd egg paired with fresh tomato, red onion, and arugula, all layered on warm ciabatta. I really liked it! I had never had boursin (a type of spreadable cheese) before. All the flavors melded well together, although I didn't like the texture of the arugula so I removed that after a few bites. Would definitely order that sandwich again. My husband had the Steak & Egg sandwich which he said was good but I didn't care for the flavor combo. It is described as such: Tender roast beef, melted American cheese, and caramelized onions layered with a souffléd egg on a toasted ciabatta. It's interesting in the picture it shows a waffle instead of ciabatta. I guess they got rid of the waffles altogether? They should probably update the sandwich photo is that's the case. There's nothing extra included. As you can see, it is very boring looking. There's no music playing. It's very, very basic and highly overpriced. I also wish they would've had a list of ingredients for make your own sandwich. There wasn't even suggestion from the counter person.
