The prices are not so thrifty though, groceries can be expensive here. Anyways I came here today because I wanted to buy some supplements as I'm a bit of a health nut so I was in the vitamin/supplement section plus I wanted to use my gift card for something as this woman who I guess was working in the vitamin/supplement section approached me saying "Can I help you with anything or are you just looking?" I just felt awkward because her tone of voice was not friendly and when I replied "No, thank you, I'm okay, with a smile" she didn't smile back, just had a grumpy, bitter look on her face. I kind of felt more like she was suspicious I was going to steal something and I was being racially profiled rather than someone genuinely wanting to assist me. The young cashier up at the front was very pleasant and friendly when I went to pay for my item at least.

I would encourage management to talk to their staff, especially the young cashiers ( hate to be a curmudgeon ) that it likely would be best to halt their personal conversations while they are checking groceries. A couple of times I've had my groceries checked with two young people having a Long involved conversation, and they barely look at me. At home. It's as if I'm inconveniencing their talk time

Product review ... 'shout out' - for one of my favourite ways to purchase pork for roasts and…read morechops. I call it a pork "log", the supplier calls it 'boneless pork loin rib half', and the store labels it as 'pork loin, half centre, and sirloin'. Buying pork this way affords an opportunity for the customer to cut and prepare as desired. After each purchase, I usually cut a roast and chops, and freeze in portion sizes appropriate for future meals. The yield, as I cut and prepared this larger one for freezing was: one good-sized sirloin roast, 12 loin and centre chops, and some extra sirloin. The roast was frozen in a bag by itself, and was large enough for dinner meals, and several lunch sandwiches, and brunch snacks. The chops were frozen by variety, two in each bag, perfect for dinner meals. The extra sirloin was put in its own bag and used in a tagine stew. When sold fresh, these "logs" are usually on sale at reduced prices from other times, when being sold at regular prices, and being sold frozen. For me, the only way I want them is fresh, so I can cut and freeze. Buying them frozen and not being able to refreeze after thawing and cutting is not an option. I purchase them fresh, and have caught some great prices. They are fantastic value buys at those times. Regardless of size, the "logs" provide such a wonderful variety of flavourful pork cuts for many meals. And for me, are so well-deserving of the product 'shout out'.

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received at this No Frills location today…read more This incident happened today at around 7:45 PM. I was shopping for an Uber customer's order and had been in the store for almost two hours trying to find items. When I could not locate a product, I politely asked a staff member who was stocking shelves for help. Later, I found out from another coworker that this person was actually the manager of the store. The first time I asked for help, he responded in an annoyed manner, saying "it should be over there." I thanked him, but he did not respond. When I needed help finding another item, his attitude became even more unpleasant. He told me that he was not required to help me and that I was asking too many questions. His way of speaking made me feel disrespected and uncomfortable. After this interaction, I spoke with another coworker to ask if this was normal behavior, and that coworker informed me that the person was the manager. Whether someone is an Uber shopper, a delivery driver, or a regular customer, everyone deserves to be treated with respect. Asking employees for help finding products is a normal part of shopping, and this kind of response is not acceptable customer service. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reviews what happened today around 7:45 PM.

That's the only drawback I see. It will be hard for those with mobility issue to get to if the elevator and escalator are not working. I like the wide range of stuff which are an available here. They do product samples too, not as many as in Costco though. I got to try samosas which are sold at the cooked station. There are cooked food sections after the cashier area, a bit similar to what you see at H-Mart or even the save on in coquitlam by Sunwood Square. Parking is available on the ground level where it's covered or out at the plaza. Prices are on the high side though items on sale can be cheap.

Realizing I have been coming here more regularly, and I am no longer as discontent as before, an update maybe warranted. They have become more competitive in offering deals and discounts. On average, they are beginning to be on par in pricing with other grocery chains around town for specials. Often there are better deals here. What could make this place even better? Better customer service. More healthier alternatives. (It is growing but 2 aisles is tokenism.). More cooked/prepared meals. Their rotisserie chicken can be gamey if left in the heating area for too long. They could time stamp it and discount it after 2 hours. But nooooo. If it is not piping hot...avoid.

This particular market has never really been listed very high on my shopping 'to do' list, but with some time between other shopping venues today, a walk-by and look-see at what was being offered, captured our attention to stop in for a closer look. Broccoli was being featured at a great price. And having some dinner plans in mind for the rest of this week, it was 'yea', when I found some very decent looking and priced green onions and Roma tomatoes. Thanks to this stop at 'Kin's', I was able to catch and fulfill remaining items on my shopping list for today's shopping adventure.

They almost always have the following organic items, celery, cabbage, beets with and without the greens (greens are a great leafy veg like chard), garlic and ginger. They always have organic kale, carrots, bananas and several other items. I've even found organic watermelon over this past summer. Once I found organic apples but haven't seen any this year. The staff is helpful and if you ask repeatedly for an item they'll often get it in. Prices are very competitive. If you are on a tight budget look in the bargain shelf at the back. I got a bag of tomatoes that were very ripe at a real discount. They are close to deserving 5 stars. Perhaps organic citrus and/or tomatoes would do it for me.

It's been a very long time since I last stepped foot in this place so maybe it's just my faulty memory, but it really did seem like they had expanded their offerings at this place. The fried foods were what really stood out for me. I don't recall this being here at all. It took a lot of restraint for me to not buy anything from here. Deep fried squid, deep fried vegetables, deep fried seaweed roll, tornado potato...etc. They all looked so tempting. I grabbed a couple boxes of Kimbap (One Burdock Kimbap and a Fried Gourd Kimbap) plus a Rice drink that was on sale for $1.99. They also had some Triangular Maki (Onigiri) for sale. No Vegetarian flavors. Tuna was the only flavor I could have eaten since I'm Pescatarian. I decided to stick with the Vegetarian Kimbaps though. Upon first glance, I thought the rice drink was made just from rice milk and that it would be dairy free. It was only when I got home that I read the ingredients label and realized that there was actually some milk in it. Not a problem for me, but for anyone who has lactose intolerance...be sure to check ingredient labels always. Anyways, this Rice drink was Sweet Potato flavored. Ever had a Sweet Potato flavored drink? I thought it sounded like a really interesting flavor, and of course...being on sale, that was extra incentive to try something new. I shared it with my daughter. I think she wasn't too impressed with it. Personally, I loved it. It really did taste like sweet potato. I found that quite impressive. This is a great place to stop for quick and tasty take out foods, and interesting drinks like the Sweet Potato Rice drink I tried. Their bakery section looked very tempting as well.

This place has a good vibe, friendly staff...from the cashier to the bakery, to the deli counter ending at the restaurant section...we received warm attentive service. Love their fresh meat section and their ground lamb was wonderful. Their grocery deli section is decent but could have more variety. We tried their cream puff and coconut rollette ....it didn't taste fresh. It didn't taste as if it had been freshly baked that day. Perhaps had been previously prepared and refrigerated. The pastry had collected moisture instead of it being flakey and crisp, which indicates pre-refrigeration. I guess my standards for a bakery are quite high. Fresh baked goods daily. The restaurant. Even though the portion size and quality needs improvement....I have to be fair and acknowledge their affordable and reasonable menu pricing. You get what you pay for. Yup.
