I returned for the first time in 2 years, overall still good food, excellent service, with above average prices. You can make a meal with a something similar to a bowl of ramen, or get tapas. We opted for tapas, 2 per person is about enough for a normal meal portion. In order of my preference, we ordered the following: 1. Ribs. The ribs were out of this world, and I don't even like ribs. They had a ginger, soy/teriyaki flavor, lots of tender meat, so good I used the sauce with the fries. 2. Tuna tacos. They were present as large chunks of seared tuna with excellent toppings, and hard shells. I would have preferred soft tacos, but still excellent. 3. Bao chicken bao cow. Very good, 2 steamed buns with meat and veggies, similar to a mini banh mi. 4. Ceviche. Good, but a very small portion, enough for 5-6 bites, not with the price per portion. 5. Duck fries. Good flavor, but no longer offered with poutine, which is what made it stand out in the first place. Not very original compared to other dishes. My wife also bought the kiss of the prom queen drink, which was extremely tart, which she loved and I hated ha. Mandy was our server, very friendly and genuine with perfect recommendations. See comments below on the complete failure of all the items ordered at this restaurant. The lack of effort and the outrageous pricing in comparison is evident from the initial bite. Will not be returning and a highly recommend you go elsewhere downtown. 1. Spare pork Ribs were frozen in the center. Opinion: They clearly heat up pre-cooked from the freezer. Sauce was phenomenal on these, if they are cooked thoroughly next time this could be an excellent appetizer. 2. Side of Bok Choy was also frozen in the center of the largest piece. Opinion: Heated from frozen and precooked. 3. Chicken Kung Pao Fried Rice was soggy, had zero flavor and was overwhelmingly salted. I would have preferred a 3.99 rice bowl from the freezer aisle in Publix over this garbage. 4. Pensacola Spritz cocktail was almost entirely sugar and tasted like a Shirley temple. Server was nice and ambiance was fine. Utter shame this slop steals business from local businesses that put in a respectable effort. Gross. I genuinely don't understand the hype around this place. The pork ramen broth was so bland it was borderline inedible... I've had more flavor out of a 99¢ pack from Walmart. The duck fat fries? Also bland. The ribeye in the bao buns was crispy and chewy and burnt. The flavor of the buns themselves were okay. Also, the kimchi was wack. I've had better from Walmart as well. The only thing that actually had any flavor were the lobster rangoons, and that's not enough to save the experience. For the prices they're charging, this was a huge letdown. Easily one of the most disappointing meals I've had. We loved our meal! We started with the blistered edamame and bulgogi egg rolls, and had the miso gnocchi with chicken and the kung pao fried rice (too slow to get the pic before the bf devoured it). Food: not sure how someone will ever put best food in the world next to anything in this restaurant. My order was: chicken fried rice. Pork belly bao bun. bulgogi egg rolls. Let me say the egg rolls were ok not great just ok. Bao bun ok, frozen ones at the Asian store might be better. Fried rice was a step below lean cuisine. The chicken on the rice was either raw or it was pre-cooked chicken from a bag like Tyson, but the server insisted that it was fresh made by the chef. Service nice lady, but I came in with my son not sure if it was my fault or not but one of the servers was bouncing her top 2 private parts of her body to the other lady and coworkers by the kitchen/bar. After reading some of these poor reviews posted for 86 Forks, it comes to my attention. Why would anyone finish their meal, pay for it, and then take the time to go online to post a bad review? Why not take the time before hand to ask what a certain dish or meal is - its flavor profile, spice(s), heat, etc.? We did ask the chef and she was more than happy to take the time to explain the dish's concept and let us taste prior to ordering. Read all the good and the bad reviews and ask yourself: 1. The cucumber salad was watery and had no flavor. How can you mess that up? Most disappointing was the bao buns.. no flavor, for a main thing on the menu. We tried the pork and shrimp. We also got the udon noodles with chicken... also no flavor, just a salty profile. We were there for a date night and were extremely let down by lack of flavor, spice, and overall creativity. 86 Forks used to be a solid 8.5/10 for me and it was always on point and amazing. I don't know what's going on over there, but that new menu is lacking in so many ways. The server said they changed it because they did not want to be known for a noodle bowl place, well take the noodle bowls off and leave everything else the way it is, but what's wrong with being a noodle bowl place. Extremely disappointed I will be watching the menu and I will not be back until it changes. Very disappointed that my go to has gone downhill. The restaurant is located in downtown Pensacola. There is outdoor and indoor seating. The service is an extremely slow, so if you're in a rush or starving, I wouldn't recommend this place. We ordered pork ramen, Brie-bacon-artichoke dip, and the shrimp rice noodle bowl. The dip flavorful and its accompanying bread was crispy and tasty. The pork ramen was not as flavorful as I was hoping, but the serving size was huge! Could be shared if both people aren't starving. The shrimp rice noodle bowl did not have enough shrimp, but the portion was also shareable. My favorite part of this place is their water. It is SO crisp and delicious. None of their noodles bowls is good. My 7 year old said the broth tasted like water. That is an accurate description. It tasted like bath water. Last month, I went to EVERY SINGLE restaurant in Downtown Pensacola. OVER 50 restaurants... and this was by far one of my favorites. I can tell the Chefs put TRUE passion into their dishes, and it's definitely one of the best restaurants around. From the pillowy soft Bao Buns, to their exquisite golden brown lobster Rangoons, I literally couldn't stop eating. My server was very kind ; Giving great informative recommendations, and also just being a very sweet human being. I'd honestly go back to eat again just based on the respect and kindness the server showed me while I was there. A very relaxed outdoor seating setting. Although the chair to table height ratio on their back porch seating area doesn't really make any sense. I'd buy all new tables if I were you. But the hallway seating was great! read more

Popped in for happy hour before an Ice Flyers game. We figured a few snacks and couple of cocktails would be a good start to the evening. My wife and I love Asian fusion, so we were excited to give this place a try! It was a quiet Saturday happy hour and we were able to take our choice of seats. We ordered a couple cocktails (marigold marg and Fall finale) and looked through menu options. Our choices were the Brussel sprouts, tuna tacos and two bao buns (Bao chicka bao bao and ribeye). Our drinks took some time to come out and once they arrived, we were both slightly disappointed. It seemed like both were over diluted and they just fell flat. The food redeemed the hour though. The sauce that the Brussels were in was packed with flavor and the sprouts were nice and tender. The tuna tacos were good as far as flavor, but we felt the wonton shells may have been sitting out for a while as they were somewhat soggy. Both of the bao buns were good and the flavors melded together nicely. This is a really cozy place and is hidden away in the breezeway off Palafox. We want to come back and try some different items and maybe give the cocktails another try. It seemed like the staff was slowly arriving throughout our time there, so I think the person that made our drinks was doing double duty. Father's Day Brunch at 86 Forks sounded delicious. We have had great Asian Fusion meals here for over 2 years now. Brunch today was different... Not sure what it was, chef changes, recipe changes, ingredients? Our server Anisha was wonderful and very attentive. Anisha made sure we had everything we wanted and needed, even to the extent of alternative menu options. We are foodies and what initially drew us to 86 Forks was the "Punch" of flavor we've found and enjoyed until today. Something was missing. Presentation and Plating was nice. Vegan Coconut Gelato was interesting with the Pineapple Sundae, the Pinà Colada Creme Brulee was missing it's custard firmness, very runny and lacking Pineapple and Coconut flavors. Bruleed sugar holding it together. Our Cocktails were completely on point. Seemed like the flavor we've grown to love has been muddled, just leaving me "Meh". We were excited for our Father's Day Brunch @ 86 Forks. It has been one of my favorites in Pensacola since moving here in 2023. The Beef Skewers were good and the sauce was very tasty with bits of mango. The Trio salad plate was ok. The best thing on it was the Hummus.I didn't feel like they delivered today compared to dishes they served in the past. I especially did not like the Papaya Salad. This place...*deep sigh*....I wanted to like this place SO badly!! The reviews and previous photos had us hyped up to go. We planned the night around my birthday dinner here. I love all things Asian-as you can tell from my previous reviews. I also love a good fusion take on it...We did our part and made a reservation for 5 and were one of the first tables there for the post happy hour slot. The place wasn't busy at all but we still ended up waiting for them to figure out where we were going..eventually they sat us outside in the breezeway when there was a nicer patio out back-but okay fine. Cocktails were good-Misty Manhattan was smoky and smooth-enjoyed it. Purple paradise was cute with little slices of dried fruit. Beer was cold and the Winter Warmer was perfect. Apps(this is where it went south) Ceviche-was just plain gross and had clearly not been sitting in enough citrus juice on top of being old because it was fishy and briny in the worst possible way. $15 dollars for a 1/4 cup and stale chips...we sent it back and thankfully it was comp'd off. I will say-our server jumped on this without being asked-which I appreciated. Tuna Tacos-hands down the best bite of the night. The wasabi aioli had a nice punch to it-the tuna was seared nicely and the taco shells were fried and crispy. The kimchi and the cabbage slaw were a little lack luster-the cabbage wasn't cut the best-so the bits were clunky and required lots of chewing since it's raw. I love kimchi so I had some higher hopes for it since it was house made-it ended up being a little flat in flavor but it wasn't slimy so that's a plus. They went a little too heavy handed on the gochugaru during plating-which caused inconsistencies in spice levels from bite to bite-it was manageable for some of us-but not all of us. Bao-Buns were steamed nicely and didn't get tough and rock hard like they sometimes can be. Ribeye meat was held from another service and was done with the day by our dinner time because it was dry and chewy. Chicken was over dressed and lost its crispy bits by the time it made it to our table. The shrimp was tossed in a bang bang sauce which was nice and had decent flavor. The chachu pork bao I was told was good-I didn't get to try it. Crab Rangoon-as to be expected. There was a little too much chili sauce for the number of rangoon but it was tasty. It didn't last long enough to grab a pic. Fries were fri-ey and the curds were curdy. The Buddha's plate isn't really a shareable unless it's two people max. Anymore than that and it's not really a thing. There were two rice cakes which were stale as crap. The cucumbers were sliced thai style and yet they were somehow tough and came out in long ribbons that didn't pull apart so you were stuck eating this huge strip of them. The edamame hummus had a chopped cole slaw vibe-not really a blended hummus vibe. The noodles were underdressed and came out as a starchy clump on the plate. Great concept and nice veggie variety but poor execution. Our server-Did not want to be there and that energy was palpable. She forgot our drink order and had to come back and ask for it again after about 10 minutes. There weren't enough glass cups so some of us got plastic cups with lids/straws like children-and some of us had pint glass ones. She asked to have our menus before we had finished ordering-most of us were still actively looking at them. She dropped a neighboring table's ramen bowl while cleaning up and it ended up splashing on one of us and the contents of the bowl were then left on the ground for everyone on that side to step in. She was over us as much as we were over her. The creme brûlée was a pudding...it was not a custard. Flavor of the season was cinnamon and apple. Thai Tea Tiramisu-the best part was the basil leaf-I'm not exactly sure what they were trying for but it didn't quite make it there. Didn't taste like black tea at all... I'm hoping this was just a really sh*tty off night...but I'm thinking this was just a standard night. The duck fat fries were not as crispy as I prefer, but still very yummy! We ordered edamame which was, well, decent. We had the crab claw ramen-guine. The ramen was way overcooked and mushy. We tried the kung pao stir fry and again the noodles were a huge disappointment. The tuna tacos were yummy and the accompanying kimchi was crisp and seasoned just right. The bar side of the menu is very interesting and they offer many of the mixed cocktails in a non-alcoholic version (but $13 for a lemonade is a little sus). Overall, it's a cute little trendy spot. 5 stars just truly isn't enough for this place! The staff was amazing, Mandy was our waitress who made one the best drinks I've had in my 30 years of life and the chefs, were more than on point. We had better fish tacos here, than any place we've been in Florida in 8 months. And we lived in Hawaii for 3.5 years so great fish tacos are hard to find. Highly recommend the Autumn Solstice!
