This was my first time trying a hot pot place around here (I had only been to one before in Orlando), so I was really excited to find one close to home, and it ended up being such a good experience. One thing I really liked is that you're not limited to just one option, you can do hot pot, BBQ, or both, which makes it way more fun if you want to try a bit of everything. The variety is honestly insane. They have all kinds of meats like beef, lamb, pork, and chicken with different cuts (including thinly sliced and pork belly), plus seafood like shrimp, clams, crab legs, and even octopus. They also have things like tofu, mushrooms (a lot of different kinds), corn, eggs, kimchi, edamame, and even frog legs. There are also plenty of sides and extras like noodles, fried rice, and a bunch of desserts. They had fruit like oranges and pineapple, plus little cakes that reminded me of Korean/Japanese desserts. I think they also had seaweed salad. The sauce station is really good too, you can make your own sauces with a bunch of options like peanut sauce, chili powder, garlic, soy sauce, scallions, and more. For drinks, they have pretty much everything. Sodas, alcohol (beer, wine, sake, soju), and also things like fruit teas and bubble tea (I saw flavors like Thai milk tea and others). You also get to choose your soup base for hot pot, which is really nice. They had options like miso, tomato, herbal, and spicy (Szechuan). Today we had lunch at 8 Pot, and I can say choosing this place was a great decision. It's very clean, and the décor is nice, simple, and not overwhelming. The servers are attentive, and so is the receptionist. The Cat Server was a funny and interesting surprise. Overall a good experience. Clean restaurant and stations. Quality of the meat and vegetables were pretty good. All you can eat hotpot and bbq. Service was really good. With so many options now for these types of restaurants, as long as the place is clean and the quality of food are good, then I am happy! Also, no stomach issues after eating lol Only complaint was our party was too large for one table so we split up into two tables. One table wanted both hotpot and kbbq option, but the second table did not. They required both tables to choose the same option. That didn't make sense because we were technically two tables/parties. 8pot is a wonderful new hot pot and bbq option in northern PBC. And they stay open late too, enabling us to grab dinner after a show in WPB. Price for AYCE is reasonable, and we splurged to have both the hot pot and the grill for $6 more. The central, shared grill is well ventilated. I did not like the idea of grilling on the disposable sheets at first, but it actually worked surprisingly well. The meats still char up just fine. The sheets are changed often enough and coated with something that tasted like butter/margarine. And it's definitely an improvement (and more environmentally friendly) to not have to change the entire hot grill during the meal. Hot pots are provided individually, and they have a wonderful selection of broths. Their variety of meats and veggies was great. Highlights were the clams, enoki and king oyster mushrooms, large head-on shrimp, and beautiful whole octopus. Lots of other veggies too like pumpkin and watercress. A big surprise was the snow crab clusters. I usually find these too salty with a horrible texture. But warming them up on the grill and getting a little char and butter/margarine on them brought out their sweetness and they were delicious. Plenty of thinly sliced meat was available, including bulgogi beef/pork, lamb, beef tongue, and others. They also delivered a small selection of premium meats that included kalbi beef. It wasn't clear if you could ask for more of this selection, and we didn't try. Given what prices are like now everywhere, I thought the value here was reasonable, especially for the wide variety of ingredients. Drinks are reasonably priced too. However, if you just want to gorge on premium selections of meat, you might prefer a place that focuses just on Korean bbq ayce. Staff are friendly and attentive. They were quick to adjust heat, add broth, or change the grilling sheets. They also gave us a last call warning for the food. My only small complaint was that, since it was toward the end of the evening, they didn't refill some items. I had been hoping to try some of the prepared desserts, like the Asian donuts. I had never done hot pot/Korean BBQ like this before. I think I would have liked it better if I was explained what I was supposed to do better. I was just told grab whatever and told the pot with thr broth was for Hot pot and the other was BBQ. Yes, they have a few signs that say how long to cook things. I think the buffet of ingredients was just too overwhelming for me. I definitely enjoyed the BBQ better than the hot pot. I came here with some coworkers on a Saturday night at 6 and the timing was perfect. It got busy soon after so we had no trouble getting a table. This place is fairly new so the ambiance is modern and chic and it's clean inside. Service was very quick. Almost like we were getting rushed as we finished and were sitting and chatting and were told to leave the restaurant since there's a two hour limit. There was no one else waiting for a table anymore and the restaurant wasn't closing soon, so I get it, but I also don't. Staff is okay, they could've been more polite. I honestly didn't understand our waitress that well because of her English and she wasn't friendly. She never refilled our drinks and even had a hard time understanding what we needed at times. I may only come back one more time to give this place a second chance since the service was what it was. Food was good although not the freshest of seafood. My tummy hurt the next day. I liked the Szechuan broth (not too spicy). Next time I want to try the bbq. It was around $32 per person for hot pot or bbq or both for $5 extra. The entire table has to agree on an option though. Cool experience! We came here being hot pot newbies and it was a bit intimidating and we wish we had been better prepared. We ordered the bbq and hot pot since they both sounded cool. Two people was $100. Now this was definitely overkill for us we ate one of each and didn't think we needed so much. The waitress was very nice and explained what to do. You grab bbq meets to heat up in the grill in the center of the table and also some noodles and meat for hot pot. My husband was a little annoyed because he was overwhelmed with stuff and not knowing what everything was and ended up getting items he didn't like. There is a charge for people who get too much food and waste like $20 a pound so he felt like he had to eat the stuff he didn't like. I would come back and pick stuff I like but first time came be intimidating. This is the worst hot pot place I've ever ordered take out from. I got the herbal soup and Szechuan spicy. The soup is SO watered down tastes like MSG and water. Most of the hot pot places I am used to ordering from on the west coast have the ingredients built in and the total pot is usually ~$25. The was $15 for just the soup, $2.60 to add a mandatory carb, $2.90 for each vegetable and $6.50 for each protein. If the quantity and quality was good, I wouldn't be this upset. But the beef, shrimp and chicken tasted stale and very overcooked. Prawn was powdery soft. The corn tasted like water. The tofu- 3 sad pieces. Lotus root also tasteless. It's almost like they boil all this in a big pot of unseasoned water (not stock) together for a long time in the morning and put it in containers to dry out. Pieces of enoki and udon from one order in another separate order. All that for more than $30 a bowl. Doesn't even come with chopsticks. Glad I didn't pay $9 for boba. The reason they get away with it is because there is no competition... yet. Edit in response to the owner: Thank you for taking the time to respond. The delivery process doesn't make the corn taste like water, the tofu sour, the prawns not fresh and the beef texture like jerky -see the nice white curly edges in the photos. Like I said I am happy to pay the price if there is quality. I do hope you try your own food and make some improvements. Hot pot is simple and it's a good business model but can only do well in the long term the ingredients are fresh and of good quality. read more

There's so much selection, and the quality of the selection is considerably higher than others in the area.. One of my favorites is catfish which you don't see as an option at other hot pot spots.. We were excited that the place finally opened, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Many of the meats listed on the menu weren't even available at the buffet. I have never had to write a bad review before, but I felt like our experience needs to be shared. We have never had a waitress make us feel so unwelcome. We went for my birthday, and I have had hot pot before, just not Korean barbecue and we were very excited to try. From the start, we felt like our waitress wanted us out. The entire time we were there she was rushing us. She put all of our food onto the grill when we were not ready for it yet as we had just cooked other food and wanted to get sauce resulting in some of it getting burned. We could not go at our own pace and felt like we had to speed eat. She turned off the grill very early on so we could not go up and get more stuff to grill if we wanted to and turned our hot pots off while we were eating as well. We would be in the middle of eating and she would take our plates and dipping sauces away. Every time she would pass us by, which was often, she would glare at us. We were very uncomfortable the entire time and we were nothing but kind to her. We felt so judged the entire time and for almost $40 per person that was not the experience that we should have gotten. We did not eat as much as we would have because we felt that she wanted us to leave. The food was good, and I liked how much of a variety they had, but we really did not get to enjoy it and that is upsetting considering how excited we were for the experience. read more

GREASY. I will never understand why some kbbq places use parchment paper to cook. It prevents the grease from dripping down the grease tray.
